Food was ok, nothing amazing. We ate here while on vacation scalloping. We were very upset that our sides were "upgraded" ones and we weren't told. $75 for 2 meals and 2 kids meals is too much for us, no alcohol and appetizers!

Only had breakfast here and it was a decent value for the price. Had waffles and eggs, food was tasty, service fine.

I do not recommend this place. We waited for a table for 30 minutes, were seated, order taken and then waited for another 1.5 hours before finally leaving without ever being served. I am going to bed hungry now! What a waste of 2 hours to be treated so unkind!

Fiddlers is a typical seafood restaurant by the bay. Decent atmosphere, decent staff, and decent foot. Service is spotty and food quality his spotty. If you're there on a good weekend and you're important then you're greeted with a smile. If not you're typical table fare. As far as timing in July, you're looking at a 40 minute wait or more on entrees for a group over 4 people. There are better options for the price and especially the staff. Don't be surprised if you're forgotten amongst the other travelers dining around you. Expect dinner to take much longer that you would hope.

I was with a group of guys on a fishing trip over 4 days and we had breakfast & dinner at The Fiddler each night as it was very close to our rental. The atmosphere inside is typical seafood fare with a local twist of antiques & photos adorning the walls. The dining area is pretty good size with a separate bar area that includes dining tables, plus a deck with 6-8 tables...so plenty of options there. The main thing I appreciated about The Fiddler that gave it a boost from 3 stars to 4 was the service- it was quick and everything came with a smile. If you needed an extra beer, you didn't get the "I'll get to it" feeling...our waitress (both nights) left the table and immediately provided you with what you asked for! As far as the food, breakfast was unexpectedly good and filling before heading out on the water for a day of fishing. Dinner each night was fabulous up until the last night (more on that in a minute). The steaks were all delicious...the Delmonico being my favorite. Baked potato twice-baked and you are set. The appetizers we had were great as well- onion loaf, buffalo shrimp (some of the best I've ever had), and the blue crab claw bits in butter. Note: you can also bring in your best catch of the day and The Fiddler will cook it up how you want it for around $10. As a matter of fact, the buffalo shrimp were so good- we got a huge order of them to pair with our lunch one day, so I assume they cater as well. My only recommendation of what NOT to do: order the ribs. They were pretty awful, probably the worst I have ever had. I will admit, it was a pretty dumb menu selection on my behalf...but they should really just remove ribs from the menu. They were overcooked and near burnt, you had to shred them off the bone, the dry rub had zero flavor, and you had to add sauce on your own. I was highly disappointed but should have known better. Just don't make the same mistake I did. All in all, if I am back again- The Fiddler will definitely get a visit from me!

The food was terrible. The hushpuppies were too dense/heavy. The scallops were bland. The crab claws didn't even look or taste cooked. The salad was even brown. The fries were stale and undercooked! The prices are outrageous, even if the food had been better quality. The only good points were the grouper dip and clam chowder.

This place is a classic north Florida river joint. The owner sang super funny songs, behind the bar. The gumbo was the best I've had outside of NOLA. Really!!! The lady bartenders were, as we say in the beautiful south, precious. What a great bar. We went back two nights in a row. I had the broiled seafood platter. Everything was good... the slaw and hush puppies are excellent. Price: 9 Food:9 Atmosphere:10 Service: 10

Good thing I called because the app showed they were closed today (Sunday). This is a small town and they need all the business they can get!!! Shame on you, Yelp!!!

got here on a locals party nite and we were ushered into the party! we didnt get any of the inside jokes but we did get a potluck dinner for free. The locals were drunk and very nice. We turned down lots of fishing trips that were offered

We love Steinhatchee and Fiddlers is our favorite restaurant. The barbecue is world class and the smoked wings are fantastic. It has a great bar, good people and good vibes!

Had an early dinner here a few days ago. Pretty pricey. For $70, bf & I shared an extra burnt/salty grouper plate, large blue crab claws, fish dip, oyster cocktail, cup of gumbo, and a couple beers. Sounds worth it but definitely not. Grouper was about 4oz for about $23, plate came with salad (iceberg lettuce), and a side of half a cup of beans and rice (later found theres was a separate charge of $1.50 for). Fish was over-seasoned and overcooked. I ate a bite and that was it. Fish dip was good, but masked with cream cheese. Oyster cocktail was okay. It didn't look appetizing, as it came as a lump of oysters, but my craving for raw oysters had to be satisfied. Gumbo was good, but again on the salty side. Service was great. Friendly & attentive. We like food and are more than happy to spend good money on it if its worth it. Unfortunately, this place is not. Will not be returning.

WORST service we have ever had. Not enough wait staff, not enough kitchen staff. Wouldn't know how the food is because we've never made it that far. The first time we went, we had a fairly large party so we waited over an hour to sit. I let it slide because I thought they had to make special accommodations for us. Once we were seated (around at least 5 or 6 still empty tables), we ordered almost immediately because we were all so hungry. About 45 minutes later, we were served warm, limp starter salads. An hour after that, there was still no sign of our food. We walked out. I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant before, and I honestly felt bad doing it. A few weeks ago, we thought we would give it another chance. Three years had passed, and we were a much smaller party (8 people). We waited an hour and half when they told us it would only be 30 mins. And to add insult to injury we saw multiple open tables in the restaurant. When we asked one of the wait staff to check where we were on the list, she promptly forgot about us and never returned to answer our question. We finally found one of the hostesses who told us there was a hold on the kitchen and they could not seat anyone who they knew they wouldn't be able to feed. We left again.

The service was terrible, it took forever to get our food. We were seated at 9:15 pm and didn't leave until just before 11:00 pm! Others seated after us received their meal before us. The waitress was sour and unfriendly and didn't seem concerned at all. The food was marginal, my grilled grouper was too salty, but my wife like her lime grouper. My salad was limp and hush puppies were burned. At least they didn't screw up the baked potato. We had read several good reviews on other sites, so perhaps we caught it on a bad night. It was in the middle of the busy scallop season. Next time, we'll try some place else.
