I eat at Powell's often. Good food and very nice staff. Convenient and reasonable service time. Also reasonably priced. I recommend. B

Sprite milk shake? Pineapple sprite? Cherry pineapple sprite? This place is full of surprises. Full service at your car. Friendly peeps. And FAST!!! The shakes are divine. The steak sandwich is good roadside food. I would describe it as chicken fried hamburger on a long bun with onions and such. You can get the bun grilled.. The soft serve cones are the bomb diggity and only $1.90 for a large. Twist it up. And step up with chocolate dippage. Or get your sundae all-the-way. I thought Kathy was coming on to me, but it turns out that just means with everything.. Picnic tables along 301. Or jam out in your Civic. Don't forget to bring your own hot sauce. And tequila for the pineapple Sprite.. That's what Kathy recommends anyway. The fried okra and fried mushrooms are highly recommended. I've also heard.good things.about their corn dog.

We stopped in on our way to Gainesville. Powell's has delightful soft serve ice cream, very light and airy. The corn dogs and fried okra are wonderfully fresh and delicious. With the old fashioned drive-up service and walk-up window, this place is a must! Americana for certain.

Love this little place . I've been coming here since I was a kid . The old style drive up with car service is pretty call . The ice cream shakes and sundaes are quite tasty but my favorite thing to get here would be the corn dog and fries . This is a fun little place to take the kids of a afternoon treat .

I've been stoping at this place for years. They have really good food from corn dogs to steak sandwiches but the real treat is the ice cream. The ice cream is some of the best soft serve I've ever had. My dinning partner loves the banana splits. This is a old fashion style drive in that's been around since the 1950's. there's a reason the place has been around as long as it has. It's because of good food and good service.

Food was great, and service was too.

This meal may have earned me 5 pounds, but it was totally worth it. Best chocolate shake and onion rings I have ever had. Love the casual outdoor picnic benches and friendly staff!

Love this spot! Visited just once so far but will definitely hit it up on the way home to and from Jax and Gainesville. Driveup and get immediate service. Glad to see it was not cash only as one of the reviews mentioned. The shakes were superb, onion rings were crunchy and well seasoned, corn dogs were good (your don't get that weird mouthfeel you can get with corn meal sometimes, it was more of a dense batter). Will def check out the steak sandwich next time and corn nuggets which seem to get good reviews.

Enjoyed the super cheeseburger and fries. Friendly staff and quick service as soon as we pulled up!

This place has the best soft serve and milkshakes I have ever had. I love a chocolate cone or pineapple sprite milkshake!! Their burgers are decent and Cajun fries are pretty good. I've never had any other food from here but they offer quite a few other meal options.

Best chocolate milkshake i've had in a long time. I like them Rich, thick, creamy. Just like my women. J/k. They're great. A+

While I was in the pool at the hotel I'm staying at I noticed this place right next door. I decided to give it a try because I like small places like this they usually have really good fresh food. I was not disappointed at all. I got the super burger I think it was called and it was very good a little to much sauce so next time Ill ask for a little bit less but over all the burger was very good. I was disappointed in the amount of fries you get with the meal there should have been more. I will definitely try this place again while I'm here. Also the prices where great for what you got except for the fries like I mentioned before. But overall exceptional, if I come back threw 301 ill definitely stop here for food.

Finally stopped into the home of the "foot long steak" (the sign has weirded me out in the past), and I have to say I'm now prepared for my second trip. There aren't really any parking lines painted and there aren't any menus other than the ones posted on the building, so although a waitress comes straight to your car, if you've never been before you might as well get out and walk to the window. The shake menu had about ten flavors, I went with chocolate. Then there is the food menu - burgers, dogs, corn nuggets, okra, fries, grilled cheese... you get the idea. I got a burger all the way (lettuce/tomato/pickles/mayo) and was very content. They do have a few picnic benches under a covered wing, so you don't have to eat in your car. Really nice staff (I don't know if they take credit cards - the people in front of me were all fishing for change) and like the others have said the milkshakes are DELISH. New stopping point on my 301 route! (and my burger and shake cost me under $5)

Milkshakes aren't the best in Starke, they are the best on the East Coast. Ever since a flash flood on 301 forced my family to take a pit stop at this funky little drive-in, we have made it an annual road trip rite of passage to enjoy a milkshake at Powell's Dairy Freeze. Seriously, we talk about this place all year. It's fantastic. Friendly service, decent food, and milkshakes to die for.

didn't really enjoy the softserve here; had a funny mouthfeel i.m.o. Nice people, though

I [heart] corn nuggets. This is the first place I ever had them (sad, I know. And I call myself a Southerner) so theirs are a sentimental favorite. I almost always stop on the way to Jacksonville. Powell's also has great burgers, and their milkshakes are top-notch. I miss Doug's Dairy Twirl when they served 40 different milkshakes. Powell's makes up for it as best it can. I love that people can stay in their cars and the waitresses come get your order. If I was Tanya, I'd eat there often.
