The garage is my normal hang out and I have to tell you it is a great place to meet up with old and meet some new friends. Luke and Scott are great bartenders. Both work very hard to make sure you enjoy your drink and time when you come for a visit. Yes the bar allows smoking inside, but so does many other bars in the area. I'm a non smoker, but for a smoking bar it isn't as bad as others I have been to. Rai and Debbie, the owners are very friendly and inviting to everyone. I have read some of the comments for the garage and have to say giving this bar less than 4 stars is inappropriate. I have been to others bars where the bartender ignores you, and the patrons are so stuck on themselves you can't meet anyone, but it is not like that at the garage. Wednesday and Friday nights are karaoke (Friday brings a great crowd), Saturday and Sunday Bill DJ's and does a great job finding out what the crowd loves to hear. Free pool always. A great place to play pool, darts and hang. Give it a try you will be glad you did. But like most things it may not be the place for you, and that is OK as well. Garage keep up the great work. I will continue to come and tell others about the bar.

I typically go every Friday for karaoke. I give the karaoke host, Hank, 5 stars. Rai, one of the owners, gets 5 stars. He's friendly and inviting and always has a smile on his face. Luke, one of the bartenders, gets high marks for busting his ass to get everyone their drinks. Scott, the other bartender, should probably seek a job outside of the service industry. It's a crapshoot whether he actually does any work behind the bar while Luke is slammed with drink orders from the patrons. The patrons are pretty awesome aside from the occasional annoying drunk, but annoying drunks come with the territory when you go to a "dive bar." I really dig this place despite of Scott's aloof attitude towards the patrons and his job.

This place struck me as being pretty much of a crap hole of gay bar. It permits smoking, and though I smoke, the overwhelming smell, most of it having a sort of imbedded stale odor to it, was more than I could take. Plus, it's not the friendliest of places, the bartender rather goofy, and a lot of the patrons seemingly somewhat on the low life with a good number of them not setting off my gaydar, so maybe they were straights just out looking to take a walk on the wildside. I don't know. But one cruddy guy, pretty much looking and behaving like a disheveled drunk came over to me, took out his false teeth (Yuck!!!) and bothered to tell me that he sucked c**k; which told me way more about him than I wanted to ever know; so much so that I got up and left. I know, I would have preferred to have spared you the ugly details, but as a reviewer I sort of have to lay it all right out on the line; so to speak.

First, I've never been there. Second, this is a SMOKING bar. Third, I never will go there because of that. No interest in breathing in other people's cigarette smoke... ugh!

Giving this place one star is being far too generous. My partner and I live in the area, so we decided to check it out. I love a good dive bar but this has to be the creepiest joint I've ever been in. It has a very depressing vibe..like they shut the doors in 1989 and locked whoever was in the bar inside until they decided to reopen them recently in the 21st century. We decided that if there's a gay "hell", it would be something very similar to this bar. The guy behind the laptop playing the music (in a glorious bit of irony, wearing a Morrissey t-shirt) played an annoyingly sufficient amount of Cher and Madonna remix medleys...like I said, hell! We were hopeful the drinks would at least make up for it but unfortunately, those sucked just as much as the guy we saw leaving out the back door to go turn a trick...the drinks were likewise cheap!

I've only been in here once. We came in, ordered a beer. Saw a really drunk man in his late 50's with his pants down (no underwear) singing show tunes. Drank our beers and left. Not for me.

Luke and Scott are two of the best bartenders around it did take Scott a little to warm up ,but he and Luke are amazing. Great drink prices even after the 4- 10 happy hour and on Wednesday it's from 4 till midnight. I like the neighborhood type bar. My partner and I prefer it to Georgies anytime and there is always some kind of a strange drama there at Georgies. Georgies had gone down hill and officially sucks , there staff there food and music all sucks.

The good bartenders are all gone. Still, you can't beat the happy hour prices. It's a good place to go.

Great drink prices and one bar tender is nice but the other one is rude and non inviting

I like the bar, but it is just where I hang with friends. The best thing about the place is the happy hour. Happy hour here runs from 4 to 10 pm and they have some pretty decent drink specials during those times. The bar fills a void left by the now defunct "detour", which was a block down from here. The difference between this one and the other was the hospitality that is showed. If you want to have a successful place of business, you mush not absolutely be a agitative person, to put it into a nicer term. You run your clientele off, you lose business. The smokey atmosphere is a turn off for me at times. I also must note, that the owner of the bar, also owns an actual automotive garage right next door to the place. If you need your car serviced, then hit them up for rates. The hole in the wall factor is what gives them a 4 star rating.

This gay bar allows smoking. Has a biker bar feel to it. It's a great place to start the night. I wouldn't spend my entire night or afternoon here. What I like about this bar is the regulars. This place hosts a lot of potluck events(free food!!!)
