My review is just for their fantastic lunch menu and service... I worked nearby in DTSP for over a decade. My friends and I often treated ourselves to lunch here on Fridays. So we are talking a party of four dining here for lunch at least 50+ times, and not one of us ever had a bad experience with the food or service. That says a lot! Going out for a "work lunch" in DTSP can often become a colossal hassle. Expect crowds, waiting to be seated, scarce parking, having coins for the meters, etc... While the parking will always be a hit-or-miss gamble anywhere around here, this place runs their lunch service like a well-oiled machine! Their lunch specials run from just $6.95-9.95, and that includes a small soup-of-the-day and spring roll. Over the years, I think I sampled nearly every entree on their lunch menu. Being a noodle-freak, of course the pad thai was my favorite. Their curries and even the humble fried rice are also very excellent here. The daily soup is always random, but we always felt like we hit the Thai food "lotto" when it was the garlic chicken broth with rice. Heavenly! We never had to wait for anything. The attentive wait staff does not "rush" you here, but clearly understands the need for employees to be served quick, leave satisfied, and with time to get back to work without anyone getting pissed. This may just be the best place in DTSP to grab a quick, affordable, tasty, and filling lunch with no worries! (Here's a pic of their current lunch specials. Please do give them a try...)

Quite overrated if you ask me. Had lunch here today and everything was mediocre. The lunch specials are pretty good though (for the price). I usually love Thai tom yum soup but the tom yum here wasn't good at all, it tasted pretty bland. Sushi was blah.. Out of all the entrees my friends and I got, the seafood clay pot was the best. Pad Thai and panang curry were alright but the pot kinda gave this review 3 stars. For a good Thai restaurant in stpete I suggest Lanna Thai on park street.

I stumbled in this wonderfully hot afternoon, with my vegetarian friend, about 10 minutes before they closed. I know, I hate when people do this, too, but when we asked if they minded if we ate they said we were welcome and to have a seat. I'm not sure if they really meant we were welcome, because the entire meal we were rushed. We were asked as soon as we sat down if we knew what we wanted to eat, and when we said we needed a few more minutes the waiter seemed displeased. The good thing about us being 'rushed' was our food came out in literally 4 minutes. Yay for us! We received our spring roll and soup immediately after ordering, and I was surprised how good the soup was (I guess these both came with the lunch meal). For an entree I ordered tofu panang curry, which I liked a lot. It had a thicker sauce that sticks to the rice really well, and there were lots of veggies. I felt like there wasn't much tofu but the pieces were larger than I was used to so it might have been the same. My friend ordered the pad thai with tofu. She covered hers in spicy pepper flakes and inhaled the whole thing. She said it was 'okay' but nothing to write home about. Overall, I think we would have received better service, thus having a better experience, had we come for dinner. But the food was definitely good and worth coming back to.

Amazing! They have revived my faith in Thai! Thank you! When I asked my picky husband if I should give them five stars, he said F$@K YES, GIVE THEM 5 STARS! We had the LAD NAH and the PED PANANG. OMG! The duck was SOOOOO tender. The curry and brown sauces were very good!

EVERY time I come home to visit my family we eat here, nothing can top it even when we try to branch out. The service is great, and they are accommodating for larger groups. Our usual order includes: -Sapporo beer -Saki -The coconut soup - Best ever, and that's saying something because I order this in every Thai place I got. -Yellow Curry - wonderful, ask for more rice though -chicken fried rice -a huge boat of sushi usually including: rainbow roll, crunchy roll, hamachi roll with added cilantro, etc -buckets of peanut sauce

Love this restaurant. Good pad Thai. Sushi is always fresh. Always clean. Staff is friendly.

The food itself is fantastic. Some of the best Thai I have had, but the service is terrible. The first time I went the waitress was rude and slammed our food and drinks on the table. Today I went with a friend for lunch. After we were seated our order was not taken for 20 minutes. My friends food arrived first and one complaint and 20 minutes later I received my food. If you don't mind the unfriendly atmosphere and crappy service the food is great.

Pleasantly surprised! Came here after my regular go to Thai spot in St Pete Downtown, the King and I, closed down (yelp hasn't updated the venue as closed yet) and spending 20 minutes reading yelp reviews lol. I read that Lemon Grass Thai just down the street was trying to hard to diversify with tapas and sushi and in the process wasn't good at any specialty, serving canned stuff. So I pronounce the new king of Thai in Downtown Tampa to Bangkok Thai! I got a generously large serving size of shrimp Pad Thai for $11 (Chicken beef or tofu would have been $9) which rivals Thai Thani in channelside in Downtown Tampa but for $5 less! I normally am not a shrimp counter but another reviewer complained about receiving small shrimp and only 4 pieces, so I may be able to thank him for getting more shrimp and larger shrimp, but I got 6 pretty big pieces of shrimp so I can't complain. The $9 cashew nut chicken was sweet and spicy, also a very large portion, and also very good. The decor was above average and including dojo private booths, dojo style windows in the wall separators, and a very elaborate sushi bar enclosure that looked pretty cool. Service was quick and courteous. The food came out in a timely manner. There was plenty of street parking available right outside the restaurant on central ave. We will be coming back again! Thanks! :)

I've been to a lot of Sushi restaurants around the country, but this is the best place I've ever been to. You won't be disappointed. I recommend the spider roll, St Pete roll, and the dragon roll. I won't go anywhere else for sushi anymore.

Good food, great prices. Can't beat the $6.95 lunch special including an entree, soup, and spring roll. I had the panang curry, my girlfriend had the pad Thai. We were both satisfied. Excellent service too - our drinks were refreshed constantly and the staff was very friendly.

A solid Thai restaurant in the heart of downtown St. Pete. Best lunch deals around. All lunches come with a chicken, garlic and rice soup and yummy spring roll. Lunch prices are usually under $10. Service is efficient, food is quick and delicious. I usually get the Beef Pad Thai and I have never been disappointed. It is clear that they use fresh ingredients! Sometimes we order take-out for the office (about 10-15 people). Bangkok Thai handles it with ease and we have not found an error yet!

I've eaten at Bangkok Thai a few times and have never had a bad meal here. This particular trip I decided on Chicken fried rice and was very glad I did. Full of white meat chicken pieces and veggies, the rice was seasoned perfectly. My friend ordered Chicken Pad Thai and enjoyed hers as well. The ambiance is traditionally Thai and the staff were attentive and friendly. Personally a better experience than a previous meal at Chang Mai so if I'm in the area Bangkok Thai will be my stop for tasty food.

It is only a block away from The King and I, this one taste and service was 5x better. I also came here lunch time which is busy as much as the king and I. Bangkok service was great. Always attending to us quick and refilling water without me raising my hands like some restaurants. Once again, I ate Lad Na at almost every thai restaurant I go to. This one was a little sweet but i like how they all the mushrooms, babycorn, and broccoli. Some people only put broccoli. My friends who works in Downtown enjoys their curry. They are regulars there and their lunch deal is awesome. 8.95 for lunch menu. Serve mini small soup and a 2 inch eggrolls. lol. cute. I guess it's the winning Thai restaurant for downtown.

My favorite Thai place in St. Petersburg. A great place for lunch as their lunch menu value can't be beat. The sushi is so-so, but not bad at all.

First of all, the name of this restaurant is 9 Bankok. It is THE BEST! Immediately upon getting seated, you receive a glass of ice water, bowl of soup and spring roll. Service is FAST and friendly! Amazing food and prices. Make (a very tiny) amount of time for this unassuming and delicious restaurant!

Unimpressed ....ordered Pad Thai and upgraded to shrimp --- they added a grand total of FOUR, small shrimp and of course to make matters worse they brought out my soup & spring roll AFTER my Pad Thai Won't go back to this place again

I have to update this review because over the past couple of years this has become my FAVORITE thai place in the area! All of their curries are spectacular! Their sushi is also in my opinion some of the best in St Pete, especially the dragon rolls. The service is always efficient as well. No complaints anymore!

My family and I went here for lunch today. The food was pretty good but nothing special. We had sushi and the beef with peppers lunch special. It took awhile for the food to come out and there seemed to be a lot of confusion about which sushi roles we ordered. I did however like that each lunch came with a spring role and clear soup. It was a nice added touch. I've definitely had better sushi but I think it was overall a good deal for what you were spending.

Good food with friendly service. However, it is not out of the norm as far as thai food (or sushi) goes. Excellent atmosphere with food that is of the expectation of most thai restaurants. Tasty and worth it.

9 Bangkok has been my steady Thai for years. There have been various competitors, who changed ownership, downtown but no one has been as consistently good...IMO. They don't skimp on serving you with real dinner warehouse -no plastic utensils like some Thai places.

Maybe its the sushi people rave about because it can't be anything else. Our food lacked any flavor.

I feel like you're probably not human if you don't like this place... Ate here for lunch under $7.00 and that included a huge portion of pad thai with chicken, spring roll and soup which is WAYYYYY better than that fake hamburger from that fast food place you're thinking about and cheaper too! If you are in the area and like Thai food, you really need to stop in and try this!

Best of the Thai restaurants in DTSP. 5 stars because it's a very casual restaurant that serves food that I would pay much more for if I was eating it in a fancier atmosphere. I've been many times for lunch and dinner and this place owns the trifecta of restaurant awesomeness... 1) Fast service. To me, this is crucial in a 5 star review. If the service stinks, I'm not likely to return. This place is very fast in preparation, except sometimes on the weekend evenings when everyone comes. Sushi often takes longer than Thai food here, so keep that in mind. 2) Delicious food. Okay, I already alluded to this, but the food is awesome. Some standouts for me are Pork fried rice, Yummy Roll (Fried Sweet Potato!), Mexican Roll (Fried Shrimp) and many, many others. I think I might just like fried foods having looked at the list I just made. 3) Inexpensive prices. This place is slap-yo-momma cheap. My wife and I often get out of here for under $20, feeling full and tipping generously. Beers are all day everyday 2 for $4 for domestic and 2 for $5 for imports. In sum, there are many Thai options in DTSP, but this is the best. See you there.

This is another one of those Thai/Sushi places that seem to be everywhere in Tampa Bay. (I don't get it!) And although the food is good, it's also just as unmemorable and forgettable as similar places. THE RIGHT SPICE There was a generous helping of Pad Thai with just enough ingredients mixed in with the Noodles to be worth it in texture and flavor contrasts. Our Tom Yum Soup came in a cool container with a heating candle to keep it warm. The broth was the right amount of sweet and the various items floating inside had a good variety. Lastly, our Dynamite Roll was somewhat squishy both inside and out--lots of the "dynamite" sauce used. BURNT Towards the end of our Soup, the contraption's flame died and the smell of the fuel's smoke covered our booth for about 5 minutes. However cool that thing was, if that happens to others I don't recommend serving the soup in it. DÉCOR AND SERVICE Lots of gilded dark wood, Asian plants, and intricate small gold statues--norms in Thai/Sushi restaurant decorating. It was still nice to feel transported from the rather dull exterior. The service was good, brisk, and just... there.

Just had a Great Saturday afternoon lunch! We mixed up a couple of Sushi Specials with a Hot Thai Dish Special. All for under $33 bucks. That included tea and a Kirin Ichiban. Friendly staff and good food! We usually come for lunch during the week so were surprised to see such a large Saturday lunch crowd after 1:00.

It is clean and friendly. I had the Pad Thai, it was very good. Don't was your time or money on desert. Keep with Apps and entrees.

I ate at this place last night. I had a salad that comes with strips of beef, and had the penang curry. The curry was excellent, but the salad smelled weird. I ate it anyway since I was starving. Big mistake! I have the worst food poisoning right now and I had to take the day off. I will spare you the details of my suffering... I suggest the city inspectors pay this place a visit!

I have never had an issue with 9 Bangkok! The Thai Tea is yummy and the service is always up to par for me. The waiters and waitress are always VERY attentive. My mother and I came in so often that they knew my appetizer before I sat down. Unfortunately, I have moved to another state, but I make it a point to go visit if I am in town. Sushi is always great and the main courses are great too! Lovely place for lunch!

Sub-par, med-grade Japanese ish menu. We just waited over 45 minutes to receive a basic 3-roll sushi order, with absolutely no apologies.

Awesome only one word needed here. My girlfriend and I go here a lot for sushi sometimes their Thai. I like this place a lot because the sushi is always fresh and the portions are big. There are a ton of sushi places in St Pete but I only go here and I live over by Tyrone but choose this place every time. Other places just have too much on their sushi menu who needs 8 pages of sushi I'm simple 2 is plenty.

NOT ACCEPTABLE. I'm an avid Thai eater. I have eaten in Thai restaurants all over the country - I know my Thai. I ordered the chicken fried rice, pad see iw and the vegetable spring rolls at this restaurant. Here's the thing... I wouldn't be writing this review right now if it weren't for the terrible terrible terrible host. I ordered over the phone. He was extremely rude... Literally mocking my question about a specific sushi roll along with hanging up on me. I was so irritated, I decided to go pick up my food 15 minutes early just to see if he was still that rude in person. I walked in... And he was just as rude IF NOT MORE. I decided not to engage in his unprofessional behavior because I knew writing an honest review for others was more beneficial than letting him know how angry I was. I won't go into detail.. But I wouldn't trust him with your order or your credit card information. If this wasn't already a bad experience.... The food was disgusting. I have absolutely no idea why people give this restaurant good ratings - I shouldn't have trusted yelp. I personally don't think they know what true Thai food is along with true Thai customer service. Don't order the fried rice - it was disgusting. The pad see iw was also terrible, and in fact made me feel so sick I couldn't finish eating it. If you're going to order from this restaurant.. (Don't) I would say the veggie springs rolls is the safe route... But why spend your money at a Thai restaurant for veggie spring rolls when you can go to your nearest grocery store for the same rolls? Don't believe these other reviews.. Trust me I know my Thai. I'm disappointed :(

Chicken pad Thai Bangkok is definitely one of the best places to get some delicious Thai. They have excellent prices, minimum wait time, and large portion sizes.

Service is very good at this nondescript restaurant on St. Pete's famed Central Avenue. The decor is typical of most Asian restaurants, lots of red, dragons, boats, etc. If 9 Bangkok had the style of Lemon Grass down the street, it would easily be the best Thai food and sushi combo restaurant in St. Pete. 9 Bangkok does all their food very well. Sushi is delicious and well constructed. Noodle dishes and Thai staples such as Pad Thad, Lar Na, and Pad-se-eww are terrific. They also offer two for $5 on most beers, including Stella Artois! The Chefs also do a good job of seasoning their food and will spice up your food to meet your taste (pain) threshold! My favorite sushi roll is the M80 followed closely by the Bay Bomber roll. If I'm in the mood for sushi or noodles, which is pretty often actually, you'll find me at 9 Bangkok! I'll be the guy with the two Stellas!

(note: this restaurant is on Yelp twice, so I am posting my review to this page as well) We have never had a bad experience at Bangkok 9. Their service is fast and efficient. The food is excellent and also cheap. The only reason why I can see someone being disappointed with this restaurant is because most of their food is not spicy. I recently ordered one of the dinner specials: Volcano Chicken (pictured) and it is my favorite meal there so far. The sauce is described as a "spicy thai chili sauce" and it really was not spicy. The flavor however was outstanding. The chicken was lightly breaded and the sauce was similar to a sweet and sour (only a little less sweet) and it had perfectly cooked vegetables mixed in. They also have excellent sushi made to order. My favorite is the Dynamite roll...which is quite spicy. If you visit at lunchtime they have extremely cheap lunch specials. My Husband and myself order two sushi rolls and two thai lunches and only spend about $24. You can't beat that.

-Panang curry was great - good flavor with just the right amount of kick. -Pad Thai was ok, too sweet and not spicy enough for me, but my boyfriend finished it so there's that. -Cant beat 2 for $6 Sapporos -Service was a bit slow, we had to remind them of

Bangkok Thai is good. I go there for lunch every so often. They have lunch specials that are reasonably priced and come with an egg roll and chicken rice soup. The place needs updating inside and it can be loud at times when it gets busy during lunch.
(3)

Excellent food! The Panang chicken is delicious! The sauce was perfect, the sushi was okay. If you're in the area and craving Thai food this is the place.

Best Thai restaurant in downtown St. Pete! There are many to choose from and we have tried almost all of them I think. This one is always consistently great. It's by far my favorite one. Their panang curry is to die for. Highly recommend it. :)

Some dishes were good.. some were ok. stay away from spring rolls as they came late and were just the ones you buy in store... the sushi was ok.. and the main dish was ok.. I know we had something with Chicken -- but if it were amazing -- I would have remembered what it was.. service was a bit lack if i remember correctly.

I love this restaurant. The Tom Kha Gai soup is amazing. The sushi is really tasty as is the red curry. I love the host at the front, he is a doll. Our favorite server there is Willy. These two are fun and sweet and always show us a great time.

Jim W.
What I love about Thai food is the balance of bold flavors: spicy, sour, sweet, bitter, and salty. There were hints of each flavor in the food, but in the end, everything was a bit muddled and muted. Proteins had the flavor and texture of being previously frozen. The only bright point was the lab neua. These flavors were well-balanced and fresh. If the rest of the food was anywhere close to this dish, the overall meal (and score) would be much better.

I come to this restaurant every time I'm in downtown and I'm always impressed. I love the Pad Thai and the Panang curry. I get the Tom Gah Kai everytime because it's always a tradition with my lover to get it when we go to Thai resturants and it's a little TOO sour but I love how it's served. The outside of the restaurant is not inviting but it's tiny and cozy when you come inside. I don't enjoy the fact that you have to walk up to the desk and pay at the end but it's an actually great place and the prices are great for downtown.

Amazing Thai food. We went with pad Thai and curry and both were amazing. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for Thai in st Pete - also solid sushi selection !

I've been on a spree in downtown St.Pete and after being impressed with a few restaurants on Central, I wanted to try Bangkok right there in the mix of everything. It was just ok, but nothing special. I ordered the pad see ew and it was far from the best I've had. The beef had a funny taste to it, almost like it was frozen and then sat out for awhile. The soup and spring roll were both very tasty, but that's not enough for me to return, especially considering there is a very good Thai place literally a few steps down the street.
(3)
Alex O.
Average Thai food. Nothing great or horrible about this place. That's all I have to say. Service was really good :)
(3)
Ken K.
3.5 stars.... The food is good and artfully prepared. The chicken Satay was great, 2 thumbs up from my son. We had crispy duck with curry and Pad Thai. Both were good, aside from a bit too much sauce on the crispy duck, and that seemed to "uncrisp" the duck - my son liked it anyway . Service was excellent, and there were quite a few tables for a rainy Wednesday night. Found this place on Yelp, and we will go back for a second meal to confirm this review. It has great potential, and I would recommend giving it a try
(3)
Danny K.
They served our food to the wrong table who ate some of it, and sent it back. I watch this happen and two minutes later our food comes out and their is a bite in one of the shrimps. I asked if it was the same food that was sent back and they lied to me and said it wasn't, but offed me a free meal. I just paid and left

In my search for the best pad thai, I decided to try Bangkok Thai in downtown St. Pete. We went on a weeknight and it was not too busy. The food came out within minutes and it was very hot. We never saw our server again to get the check or cash out and we were very confused. I see that another Yelper had a similar experience. I still don't know if you're supposed to go to the counter to pay or what. Overall, the food was ok but nothing memorable.

Terrible sushi I love sushi... But, this is not good. They use Krab... Fake crap is the best word for it. The Alaska roll was awful.
(2)
Dianne A.
I was sorely disappointed. My hot tea was barely warm. I was with a friend and we ordered sushi. One roll was so loosely wrapped that it fell apart. It was much smaller than the same roll ordered elsewhere and the price was higher. The other roll was good and it stayed together but then again it was tempura. The wasabi was also not very hot. There were only 3 other tables at the time. The service was also average at best. I am sorely disappointed by taste, price and amount. So much for trying something new. :(

So delicious, clean and the staff is friendly. It's affordable and they give a decent amount of food. I always have left overs

This is thee place for Sushi. The sticky rice stands up to its name which I adore. Everything from the miso to salads to their Thai is amazing. Super Hot Wasabi and nothing beats mixing a big glob of it with soy sauce into a thick green consistency, dip, eat, pain, repeat. Yum. Well priced and proportioned. Always a good time here : )

When we arrived my wife noticed that the dishes just looked bland, but I was parking the car when she came in and she didn't say anything. I now wish she had! The service was horrible. They brought out each dish at different times, and I was left to just sit there while others were eating. Then, they told us what we ordered, which was wrong, and then they just argued with us on our order! The sushi was low grade bait, horrible! The pad-thai noodles were not bad, but the chicken in the noodles was low quality. The panang chicken was absolutely disgusting! The panang sauce was very think, like lumpy gravy, and it was poured over low quality chicken, some veggies, and bad lettuce. I have NEVER seen panang like this before. The place was dirty, service slow, and the food terrible. I would never return. It's obvious this place stays in business with all the bars in the area, probably a good spot to chow down when you can't see your hand in front of our face. Never to return and never to recommend!

As a Tampanian it's not too often I venture over the Howard Franklin for lunch. However, I had an all day teacher seminar in downtown St. Pete at the Museum of History. I was pretty excited (not only because I'm a history geek, but because I've heard magical things about the culinary scene in downtown St. Pete). I used the ever reliable Yelp to help weed out the "Meh's" and democratically and methodically choose the best option. My colleagues and I decided on 9 Bangkok. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken pretty speedily as well. It was a hot August day and we all would have liked the a/c to have blasted us with a little more cold air, but it the temperature was moe than bearable. Our dishes arrived quickly and we dug in. Noting that not much conversation was spoken for the first few minutes, it was decided that the food here is pretty spot on. My "thai spicy" was just the right amount of spice for my spicy palate. I ordered the Basil beef which had various fresh stir fried veggies mixed in with a wonderful sauce and good rice. It wasn't the best Thai food I've come across, but it was better than average. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the ridiculous cheap price. I ordered a water, and my lunch entree was served with a spring roll with a homemade sauce and soup. With tax, it rang up at a very generous $6.40! It works to the servers benefit (the price), as I had no problem leaving a 50% tip on such a cheap and delicious lunch. There's nothing better than getting a great meal at a cheap price. You feel like you "beat the system", so for that, thank you 9 Bangkok! :)

Typical American-Thai style fare with inconsistent quality of service. We've eaten here several times for lunch and dinner and each experience is a crap shoot. Sometimes the servers are horribly rude and short, and other's they're super sweet and attentive. Their sushi is really mediocre and overpriced compared what you can get in the St. Pete area. The main dishes are pretty bland for Thai food, and when you ask for thai-spicy, they just overload the dish with either jalapenos or sambal oelek which doesn't make anything Thai-spicy, just spicy and salty. The pad thai is halfway decent but super sweet and there is nothing special to say about the curries, rather that they are disappointing and watered-down. It's good to go and get a quick bite or lunch but stay away from the sushi and don't expect good, strong, Thai flavors. They really cater to americans who don't know any better.
(3)
Kevin K.
The food was good. I ordered the Yum Neua Salad, yellowtail, spicy conch roll, and the seafood clay pot. The food was 3 stars worth. I think it may have been much better had I not placed the order online for deliver. Food Now, the delivery company, delivered the food late, and luke warm at best. On top of that they refused to refund me the delivery and service fee. Would I try the restaurant again, yes, but I would never consider delivery. A good meal ruined. 9 Bangkok, you need to reevaluate who you use as your delivery service if this is the service your customers get. I wouldn't want this company or guy delivering my morning paper.

Went today (Friday) for lunch, my co-worker had been before so I gave it a try. Their lunch specials are great and you have a variety of choices. I had the yellow curry with chicken that comes with soup and an egg roll, everything was delish.
(4)
Nick E.
First time going, went with my wife on her break cause she recommended it. The yellow curry with chicken is what I had and it was pretty insane. My wife had pad thai with tofu and I will have to get that next time since it was so good. We'll be going back for sure. Only down side is it's so busy, but that isn't a bad thing.

Very good food. "Pooh" the sushi chef was great; cut us in on special goodies and makes an awesome secret sauce. Definitely recommend.

Thai or sushi. Sushi or Thai. I wish these hybrid restaurants would focus on one rather than be mediocre at both. The Thai food was average, lacking the bold flavors I look for in Thai food. Towards the end, it was kind of like forcing it down because we knew we wouldn't touch the leftovers. My wife got served conch nigiri that was so old and dry that it started to have black discoloration.

The food is delicious and the sushi bar is really good considering it's specialty is thai. The crispy roll is DELICIOUS ... And all of the curries are to die for. Don't pass up this hidden gem, it's storefront is small and easy to miss

I'm posting my review twice, as I just realized Bangkok was listed on here twice too! Here it goes: The best Thai in St. Pete! Love love love Bangkok!! They are always busy - why? Because they're amazing!! Short and sweet: -The service is fast and efficient. -They have delicious Thai tea. While other places do too, Bangkok is only $1!! -The food is amazing! I always get Pad Thai or Panang Chicken. $5.95 lunch special with soup and spring roll. My husband gets sushi as well which he says is very good (I wouldn't know, I don't eat sushi!) -The restaurant itself is nice and we like atmosphere. You can't get a delicious, authentic Thai lunch for 2 under $12 anywhere else!

Everything we tried was amazing; spring rolls, pad thai, duck, and fried ice cream!!! Delicious food and wonderful service. We will definitely return.

Great Thai food in downtown St. Pete. Variety of traditional selections all hit the mark. Portion sizes were above average and more than suitable for sharing. Sushi was delicious as well - an added bonus that made our dining experience that much better.

We went here last night. Had a roll that had shrimp and asparagus and was all deep fried. It was pretty good but I don't think I'd order that one again. But it was a HUGE roll. Beer prices are just decent. $3.75 for imports $3 domestics.

This is by far one of my favorite places to go for Thai/Sushi in downtown. I have been there twice now, and both times have been outstanding. I do not give five stars because I have not had much from the menu yet; however, I hope to change that soon. The setting is friendly and very calming. They have some excellent tea. The sushi is grade A.

I am a fan. We have been to Bangkok many times, but have never written a review. Not the greatest atmosphere but the food is fresh, consistent and tasty. Ask them to spice it up a little and they will, but they don't blow your head off. I think the bad reviewers are looking for something fabulous, come on people, $25 for dinner for two!!

This is my husbands and my go-to thai restaurant. Service can be a little slow sometimes but the food is always great. We order a good variety of dishes: the curry, the stir frys, the sushi, the salads, the noodles and the soups. I can't think of a single meal that wasn't very fresh and delicious. It's just the wait times that put it down to a four star. Standing at the hostess station for 15 minutes waiting to be sat or even acknowledged just isn't very fun, especially when you're there at the end of their lunch shift and know that they close up at 2pm. Oh and sometimes their piped-in music really sucks.

I still have not found a decent Thai restaurant in Tampa Bay. Jasmine Thai on West Shore in Tampa is the closest, and it's not that close to "decent," frankly. This place, Bangkok 9, is below average. When the Panang curry is white (instead of red or pink), and is full of coagulated coconut milk, you know you have a problem. FYI Panang curry, the actual curry, is made of RED peppers, which means the curry and curry sauce is supposed to be red or pink. The sushi was not fresh, but that's what I get for ordering sushi at a Thai restaurant. If you are desperate, and are in the downtown St. Pete area, I am sure it would be better to order some soup or rice from this place than go to Burger King. However, I would not go out of my way to go here, nor would I say that this place is good. I am giving it two stars because at least they know how to do to-go orders fast, it's not that pricey and hey, the jasmine rice was cooked properly.

Sooo good! Great lunch specials...in and out in 30 min, under $10, and plenty of food. I've left with a to go box many times. Dinner is more pricey of course but to be expected. I almost always get curry chicken...yellow or panang. They're sushi is good too...St Pete roll is the best!

I have been to this place a couple times now with my girlfriends for lunch. Everytime I order their curry (green or red) and their lunch sushi. Their dishes are not bad at all and they are very inexpensive. I love how many combinations for lunch sushi they have for $7-8. I love their St. Pete roll! Very tasty. Even their drinks are from $1! (I have never seen any other place selling Thai iced tea for $1.) It gets crowded around lunch time and you might have to wait for a couple minutes to be seated but usually they have very fast rotation and food comes out very quickly too. Once it hits after 1:30 there are not many people and at 2:00 they start cleaning and you feel like you have to get out even though they close at 2:30. This place is a very solid lunch option in downtown St. Pete!

I am now a regular. I visit this restaurant at least twice a week. Great food, great service and great atmosphere! I love this place!

First time here. Got the lunch special pad Thai. Delicious. Good service also.

This place is great. $5.99 lunch special cannot be beat. I am a big fan of the pad si ew, panang and red curry. Service is quick and friendly.

Not outstanding, but not bad either. I've eaten here a couple of times and while I won't go seeking it out for a meal, I'd stop in again if I'm in the area to go to a show at State Theater or on my way to Sake Bomb. I do have to note that the spring rolls are excellent. Everything else I've tried there like the Red Chicken Curry was pretty average but satisfying.

Surprised by the lack of creativity in the name, this restaurant shocked me at the service and quality of food. The likes of which are not easy to find on this side of the bay. You will be very satisfied with the great food here, and the very attentive staff. We tried different Sushi, the Bangkok rice, and soup. All of it was great!

I always dine here when in the mood for Thai food. Excellent service. So many options, all are delicious! Can't recommend enough!

One of the first places I had Sushi in Saint Petersburg nearly 10 years ago and the restaurant is still a solid choice if the mood takes me. Still one of my favorite Chicken Pad Thai offerings in the area and still a cool place to visit. Be warned though if they are consistent then you don't want to be dawdling around closing time because you will know everyone wants to go home, they have their ways ....

Great Place! I work right down the street and order their Pad Thai 2-3 times a week! not only is their lunch prices great but the food taste great as well. Unfortunately I haven't been able to actually sit down and take my time eating I'm always having to order take out. One day very soon.
(4)
Stef K.
Foid is pretty good. We ordered a sushi app that never came and we were told its Bc all other tables ordered sushi as an app; shouldn't s restaurant be able to handle that!?
(3)
Jen P.
Never disappointed. Good sushi & real, spicy Thai-hot food. And excellent, attentive service.
(5)

Great sushi and pad Thai. Coconut ice cream was a nice finish. Service was very good.
(5)

The service was slow, our waitress never brought our bill when we asked for it so we ended up waiting by the host standard to pay. I had the Pad Thai but it was just OK. Portions were also not large, but enough.

This place is great! The lunch special is an excellent deal. Offers good entrees, drinks and treats. Sushi isn't bad either, and makes an excellent appetizer.
(4)

Our favorite Thai place in St. Pete, I've loved everything that we've tried! The service is great, the atmosphere is great, and the food is top notch and reasonably priced. Their thai hot is actually hot enough and we always get right in and order. The only thing I would change is the background music, playing pop during your thai meal can be annoying when "call me maybe" plays and you're forced to sing that to yourself all night...

Beulah M.
This place used to be pretty good, say 5-7 years ago. The quality has since diminished, prices risen, portion sizes decreased, and the food comes far too quickly for anything to have been freshly cooked. The reason I come to Bangkok 9 is because the sushi selection is great for vegetarians. There are 6+ veggi rolls, one of which is an amazing fried sweet potato roll. The spring rolls (from the Thai appetizer menu) are great too. Don't be tempted to get any other thai food, though, or you'll be sorry. One star to the thai food, five to the sushi.
(3)
Mi B.
Bangkok is a really good Thai restaurant. I usually get the beef and broccoli and ask for it spicy (so good) with the spring rolls and the tampa bay sushi. I could eat here every week... :)
Excellent Thai food - also has Sushi - good for lunch. Inexpensive specials in a warm and busy atmosphere. Good service, quick and friendly. The Thai food is delicious and spicy. Frequented by the business crowd from offices in the neighborhood. I recommend it for lunch.

As an update, i think they have increased their quality. I have been back for lunch again recently, and i have enjoyed it every time. Basil beef, green curry chicken and panang dishes were all excellent.

Felix T.
At Bangkok 9 the food itself is tasty, the noodle dishes and curries are delicious. The real reason I love this place however is the great value at lunch. The normal Thai restaurant lunch setup of a small cup of soup, a spring roll and a dish is only $5.99, which is so cheap I almost felt guilty paying so little the curries are my favorite from the lunch menu. They also have sushi bar which I have yet to try (something about sushi at a Thai place seems suspicious to me ). I personally find them to be cheaper, cleaner, and more friendly that nearby King & I. This has certainly joined my downtown lunch list along with Burrito Boarder and Green Chili.

Had dinner here for the first time this weekend. Very good, very pleased with the experience! The decor was Asian, but contemporary. So you had the typical atmosphere you'd expect, but it was nice, tasteful, modern. The food was very good. Starters included Kanom Jeep- steamed dumplings, and Won Ton soup. I had the Volcano Chicken. Presentation is good, they bring it out on a flaming hot skillet (think fajitas), kicking out a storm of steam and flavor. Despite the name, this is not a hot (spicy) dish. In fact, I would've like to have had a little chili heat with this. But it was very good. The chicken is lightly breaded with a Thai chili sauce drizzled on top. For dessert, it was Fried Cheesecake. This can be very good, or complete crap depending on where you get it. Here, it was very good! The restaurant is clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly, always have a smile for the customers. Price is really good. My entree was around $11, with my own starter and a glass of wine, it was around $22. Not bad, and the food was very good. Enjoyed our experience!

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in St Pete. I know I am getting really fresh fish. I haven't had a roll I didn't like. I had a roll in Tampa one time that I loved and brought the recipe back to Bangkok's and they have even improved on it and named it after me..."the Karen roll". It's not on the menu but everyone I have introduced it to loves it. Zak the sushi chef is a great guy and the rest of the waiters and waitresses are good too. Some better than others. My friend swears by the chicken cashew. Says its the best. The place is really cute inside. Looks very clean. The food is very good. Easy parking and quite close to downtown. Good luncheon specials too

Food is good, served in timely manner. Great place for quick lunch stop from work. The food is not the best thai I've ever had, but tasty and I don't think you will find best thai in St. Pete anyways. $5.95 lunch special includes soup, spring roll, and entree. Highly recommend!

Great service, clean attractive restaurant. Laab Neua rocks. So good. M80, Spicy Tuna roll were great. Even got the Thai Shy hubby to enjoy his meals. Very nice and a great value.

Delicious yellow curry and rice! Weekday lunch special... $5.95. Entree, soup and spring roll. Enough food for 2 people! I dream about this yellow curry! Try it. :)

Hmm - ate here on a Friday night. Pretty bad and by pretty bad I mean real bad. Too many other decent sushi joints to hit this one again. The waiters did not know which fish was which... couldn't even ID a salmon (sake) from yellow tail (hamachi.) Really poor service and waiter attitude... did not feel welcomed at all. A smile and a hello go a long way. Maybe they are making a run at Crabby Bills or Dicks? Bangkok Thai - sushi with a (bad) attitude. Seriously. Just say.. nah.

Always good food, one of my favorite thai places. Love the pad thai, the wonton soup and the thai salads w/ meat. Nice friendly vibe to the place as well. Lunch specials are awesome, but call ahead if you get take-out.

A very tasty and inexpensive lunch. Pad Thai lunch special came with a delicious soup and spring roll. The main course was a generous portion of flavorful pad thai. Definitely a good bargain!

Good inexpensive Thai food in downtown. The place doesn't look as fancy as the next door Thai place but definitely has better food. Their Pad Thai is amazing and their soups are endearing. Last time I checked they were actually sprucing up the exterior. Just watch out for the large number of squatters and homeless during the night.

This place is great!! I have to say I have only been for lunch but when I worked downtown I was there at least once a week. It is perfect for lunch very fast and friendly service. Best of all you get some fantastic Thai for around $10.

Intimate atmosphere, They do have a Sushi bar. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. many curry dishes. Have always had a good meal there and had my birthday dinner there for 12 people one year and it was fine...

Hot green curry. Spring rolls and edamame always a good choice. The line was too long at Brick and mortar.

(5)
Anthony B.
Good food, great prices. Can't beat the $6.95 lunch special including an entree, soup, and spring roll. I had the panang curry, my girlfriend had the pad Thai. We were both satisfied. Excellent service too - our drinks were refreshed constantly and the staff was very friendly.
(5)
Andrea R.
(4)
Carla C.
(2)
Ally S.

Eric R.
My favorite Thai place in St. Petersburg. A great place for lunch as their lunch menu value can't be beat. The sushi is so-so, but not bad at all.
(4)
Jacqueline H.
(5)
Bill C.
Unimpressed ....ordered Pad Thai and upgraded to shrimp --- they added a grand total of FOUR, small shrimp and of course to make matters worse they brought out my soup & spring roll AFTER my Pad Thai Won't go back to this place again

Do you enjoy THAI FOOD? no? then don't go here. if yes, go here.

Great Thai and sushi place. My company goes here for lunch almost every Friday. I give them credit for getting 30+ people lunch within an hour and handling their regular customers. Always a pleasure.

Great old timey, authentic vibe. Very friendly and welcoming. Really fresh and fast. Great prices.

We had THE best fried rice here. The krab Rangoon and pad Thai was excellent too! Will be back to try sushi!
(5)
Jessica J.
I have to update this review because over the past couple of years this has become my FAVORITE thai place in the area! All of their curries are spectacular! Their sushi is also in my opinion some of the best in St Pete, especially the dragon rolls. The service is always efficient as well. No complaints anymore!
(5)
Katie N.
(3)
Diane H.
(4)
Nikki W.
Good food with friendly service. However, it is not out of the norm as far as thai food (or sushi) goes. Excellent atmosphere with food that is of the expectation of most thai restaurants. Tasty and worth it.
(4)
R B.
9 Bangkok has been my steady Thai for years. There have been various competitors, who changed ownership, downtown but no one has been as consistently good...IMO. They don't skimp on serving you with real dinner warehouse -no plastic utensils like some Thai places.
(4)
Stephanie W.
(5)
Luis B.
Maybe its the sushi people rave about because it can't be anything else. Our food lacked any flavor.
(2)
Erica S.

Chicken pad Thai Bangkok is definitely one of the best places to get some delicious Thai. They have excellent prices, minimum wait time, and large portion sizes.

There are many Thai restaurants in the area. This place is one of the best. The Pad Thai is great!

Have been here 4-5 times and highly recommend it. The food is not gourmet and a bit basic is prostration but very good with checking out.

Average Thai food. Nothing great or horrible about this place. That's all I have to say. Service was really good :)

Excellent Thai food - also has Sushi - good for lunch. Inexpensive specials in a warm and busy atmosphere. Good service, quick and friendly. The Thai food is delicious and spicy. Frequented by the business crowd from offices in the neighborhood. I recommend it for lunch.

(2)

The food is delicious and the sushi bar is really good considering it's specialty is thai. The crispy roll is DELICIOUS ... And all of the curries are to die for. Don't pass up this hidden gem, it's storefront is small and easy to miss

Been to Bangkok 9 many times. Great value and delicious food. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. Great crab Rangoon and Pad Thai. Sushi is a good bet as well.

(4)
Donna P.
(4)
Crystal D.

Kandice C.
Sooo good! Great lunch specials...in and out in 30 min, under $10, and plenty of food. I've left with a to go box many times. Dinner is more pricey of course but to be expected. I almost always get curry chicken...yellow or panang. They're sushi is good too...St Pete roll is the best!
(4)
Nat W.
Pete!

Never disappointed. Good sushi & real, spicy Thai-hot food. And excellent, attentive service.

Great sushi and pad Thai. Coconut ice cream was a nice finish. Service was very good.

(5)
As an update, i think they have increased their quality. I have been back for lunch again recently, and i have enjoyed it every time. Basil beef, green curry chicken and panang dishes were all excellent.
(3)

(5)Erin L.
(5)Janet C.
Love this restaurant. Good pad Thai. Sushi is always fresh. Always clean. Staff is friendly.
(5)Carla C.

Thanks! :)
(5)Jared F.
I've been to a lot of Sushi restaurants around the country, but this is the best place I've ever been to. You won't be disappointed. I recommend the spider roll, St Pete roll, and the dragon roll. I won't go anywhere else for sushi anymore.
(5)Anthony B.
Good food, great prices. Can't beat the $6.95 lunch special including an entree, soup, and spring roll. I had the panang curry, my girlfriend had the pad Thai. We were both satisfied. Excellent service too - our drinks were refreshed constantly and the staff was very friendly.
(5)Caitie O.
(5)Andrea R.
(4)Ally S.
(4)Eric R.
My favorite Thai place in St. Petersburg. A great place for lunch as their lunch menu value can't be beat. The sushi is so-so, but not bad at all.
(4)Jacqueline H.
(5)Bill C.
Unimpressed ....ordered Pad Thai and upgraded to shrimp --- they added a grand total of FOUR, small shrimp and of course to make matters worse they brought out my soup & spring roll AFTER my Pad Thai Won't go back to this place again
(2)Ryan Z.
Do you enjoy THAI FOOD? no? then don't go here. if yes, go here.
(4)Ingrid S.
Great Thai and sushi place. My company goes here for lunch almost every Friday. I give them credit for getting 30+ people lunch within an hour and handling their regular customers. Always a pleasure.
(5)R G.
Great old timey, authentic vibe. Very friendly and welcoming. Really fresh and fast. Great prices.
(5)Thuy N.
We had THE best fried rice here. The krab Rangoon and pad Thai was excellent too! Will be back to try sushi!
(5)Jessica J.
I have to update this review because over the past couple of years this has become my FAVORITE thai place in the area! All of their curries are spectacular! Their sushi is also in my opinion some of the best in St Pete, especially the dragon rolls. The service is always efficient as well. No complaints anymore!
(5)Diane H.
(4)Nikki W.
Good food with friendly service. However, it is not out of the norm as far as thai food (or sushi) goes. Excellent atmosphere with food that is of the expectation of most thai restaurants. Tasty and worth it.
(4)R B.
9 Bangkok has been my steady Thai for years. There have been various competitors, who changed ownership, downtown but no one has been as consistently good...IMO. They don't skimp on serving you with real dinner warehouse -no plastic utensils like some Thai places.
(4)Luis B.
Maybe its the sushi people rave about because it can't be anything else. Our food lacked any flavor.
(2)Stephanie W.
(5)Patrick K.

The service was good, brisk, and just... there.
(4)Mike B.
(5)Mel F.
It is clean and friendly. I had the Pad Thai, it was very good. Don't was your time or money on desert. Keep with Apps and entrees.
(3)Faisal D.
(2)Erica S.
(4)Sarah P.
Sub-par, med-grade Japanese ish menu. We just waited over 45 minutes to receive a basic 3-roll sushi order, with absolutely no apologies.
(2)Chris L.
(5)Avalon R.
I'm disappointed :(
(1)Misty B.
Chicken pad Thai Bangkok is definitely one of the best places to get some delicious Thai. They have excellent prices, minimum wait time, and large portion sizes.
(5)Brett R.
(4)Christopher N.
There are many Thai restaurants in the area. This place is one of the best. The Pad Thai is great!
(4)Mathew R.
Have been here 4-5 times and highly recommend it. The food is not gourmet and a bit basic is prostration but very good with checking out.
(4)Crystal H.
(5)Brooke P.
-Panang curry was great - good flavor with just the right amount of kick. -Pad Thai was ok, too sweet and not spicy enough for me, but my boyfriend finished it so there's that. -Cant beat 2 for $6 Sapporos -Service was a bit slow, we had to remind them of
(2)Jackie H.
Bangkok Thai is good. I go there for lunch every so often. They have lunch specials that are reasonably priced and come with an egg roll and chicken rice soup. The place needs updating inside and it can be loud at times when it gets busy during lunch.
(3)Michael H.
Excellent food! The Panang chicken is delicious! The sauce was perfect, the sushi was okay. If you're in the area and craving Thai food this is the place.
(5)Wendy K.
Best Thai restaurant in downtown St. Pete! There are many to choose from and we have tried almost all of them I think. This one is always consistently great. It's by far my favorite one. Their panang curry is to die for. Highly recommend it. :)
(5)Aaron M.
(3)Cara M.
I love this restaurant. The Tom Kha Gai soup is amazing. The sushi is really tasty as is the red curry. I love the host at the front, he is a doll. Our favorite server there is Willy. These two are fun and sweet and always show us a great time.
(5)Jim W.
(2)Karolina Z.
(4)Josh L.
Amazing Thai food. We went with pad Thai and curry and both were amazing. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for Thai in st Pete - also solid sushi selection !
(5)Josiah G.
(3)Alex O.
Average Thai food. Nothing great or horrible about this place. That's all I have to say. Service was really good :)
(3)Ken K.
(3)Danny K.
They served our food to the wrong table who ate some of it, and sent it back. I watch this happen and two minutes later our food comes out and their is a bite in one of the shrimps. I asked if it was the same food that was sent back and they lied to me and said it wasn't, but offed me a free meal. I just paid and left
(2)Bob K.
One of our favorite restaurants in St. Pete..Very fast service..Very friendly staff..attentive..We like Thai Hot food..They bring it..Very low prices and they have sushi...
(5)Amber M.
(2)James T.
Terrible sushi I love sushi... But, this is not good. They use Krab... Fake crap is the best word for it. The Alaska roll was awful.
(2)Dianne A.
(1)Kheila L.
So delicious, clean and the staff is friendly. It's affordable and they give a decent amount of food. I always have left overs
(4)Phil D.
Always a good time here : )
(5)Barry L.

(4)Casey F.
My favorite thai restaurant in the area, and I've tried many! Love the pad thai and red curry
(5)Maher K.
I love this place! I work near by and eat here every other day! Food is amazingly good!! The yellow curry chicken is my favorite. The sushi is awesome too!
(5)N. Mary I.
(3)Kevin K.
(3)Andrea F.
Went today (Friday) for lunch, my co-worker had been before so I gave it a try. Their lunch specials are great and you have a variety of choices. I had the yellow curry with chicken that comes with soup and an egg roll, everything was delish.
(4)Nick E.
(5)Sarah C.
Very good food. "Pooh" the sushi chef was great; cut us in on special goodies and makes an awesome secret sauce. Definitely recommend.
(4)Tuan L.
(2)Scott W.
The food is delicious and the sushi bar is really good considering it's specialty is thai. The crispy roll is DELICIOUS ... And all of the curries are to die for. Don't pass up this hidden gem, it's storefront is small and easy to miss
(5)Ric M.
Been to Bangkok 9 many times. Great value and delicious food. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. Great crab Rangoon and Pad Thai. Sushi is a good bet as well.
(5)Erin S.
(5)Kristen C.
Everything we tried was amazing; spring rolls, pad thai, duck, and fried ice cream!!! Delicious food and wonderful service. We will definitely return.
(5)Michael Z.
Great Thai food in downtown St. Pete. Variety of traditional selections all hit the mark. Portion sizes were above average and more than suitable for sharing. Sushi was delicious as well - an added bonus that made our dining experience that much better.
(4)Sarah L.
We went here last night. Had a roll that had shrimp and asparagus and was all deep fried. It was pretty good but I don't think I'd order that one again. But it was a HUGE roll. Beer prices are just decent. $3.75 for imports $3 domestics.
(4)Lindsay F.
(4)Donna P.

(2)Kandice C.
Sooo good! Great lunch specials...in and out in 30 min, under $10, and plenty of food. I've left with a to go box many times. Dinner is more pricey of course but to be expected. I almost always get curry chicken...yellow or panang. They're sushi is good too...St Pete roll is the best!
(4)Nat W.
Pete!
(4)Felix A.
I am now a regular. I visit this restaurant at least twice a week. Great food, great service and great atmosphere! I love this place!
(5)Ray W.
First time here. Got the lunch special pad Thai. Delicious. Good service also.
(5)Anna K.
This place is great. $5.99 lunch special cannot be beat. I am a big fan of the pad si ew, panang and red curry. Service is quick and friendly.
(4)Charlie K.
(3)Tom B.
(5)Misa C.
I always dine here when in the mood for Thai food. Excellent service. So many options, all are delicious! Can't recommend enough!
(5)Johnny C.
(4)Francia R.
Great Place! I work right down the street and order their Pad Thai 2-3 times a week! not only is their lunch prices great but the food taste great as well. Unfortunately I haven't been able to actually sit down and take my time eating I'm always having to order take out. One day very soon.
(4)Stef K.
Foid is pretty good. We ordered a sushi app that never came and we were told its Bc all other tables ordered sushi as an app; shouldn't s restaurant be able to handle that!?
(3)Jen P.
Never disappointed. Good sushi & real, spicy Thai-hot food. And excellent, attentive service.
(5)Ira L.
Great sushi and pad Thai. Coconut ice cream was a nice finish. Service was very good.
(5)Sum G.
The service was slow, our waitress never brought our bill when we asked for it so we ended up waiting by the host standard to pay. I had the Pad Thai but it was just OK. Portions were also not large, but enough.
(2)Roger D.
This place is great! The lunch special is an excellent deal. Offers good entrees, drinks and treats. Sushi isn't bad either, and makes an excellent appetizer.
(4)Alex W.
(5)Beulah M.
(3)Mi B.
Bangkok is a really good Thai restaurant. I usually get the beef and broccoli and ask for it spicy (so good) with the spring rolls and the tampa bay sushi. I could eat here every week... :)
(5)BooBooKatie M.
This has been my favorite Thai restaurant for the better part of a decade. I love the food (best hot curry!), the inexpensive price, and the mildly sleazy décor and dim lighting. It's got a dive-vibe which is perfect for it's location amidst the dive-y-er bars of downtown Saint Pete. No, I haven't tried EVERY Thai restaurant in the Tampa Bay area but why bother when you've already hit on perfection?
(4)Thomas C K.
Excellent Thai food - also has Sushi - good for lunch. Inexpensive specials in a warm and busy atmosphere. Good service, quick and friendly. The Thai food is delicious and spicy. Frequented by the business crowd from offices in the neighborhood. I recommend it for lunch.
(3)Jim T.
As an update, i think they have increased their quality. I have been back for lunch again recently, and i have enjoyed it every time. Basil beef, green curry chicken and panang dishes were all excellent.
(3)Felix T.
(4)Chris W.
(4)Karen L.
Good luncheon specials too
(5)John F.
Food is good, served in timely manner. Great place for quick lunch stop from work. The food is not the best thai I've ever had, but tasty and I don't think you will find best thai in St. Pete anyways. $5.95 lunch special includes soup, spring roll, and entree. Highly recommend!
(4)Tina S.
Great service, clean attractive restaurant. Laab Neua rocks. So good. M80, Spicy Tuna roll were great. Even got the Thai Shy hubby to enjoy his meals. Very nice and a great value.
(5)Katie S.
Delicious yellow curry and rice! Weekday lunch special... $5.95. Entree, soup and spring roll. Enough food for 2 people! I dream about this yellow curry! Try it. :)
(5)Matthew P.
Seriously. Just say.. nah.
(1)M S.
Always good food, one of my favorite thai places. Love the pad thai, the wonton soup and the thai salads w/ meat. Nice friendly vibe to the place as well. Lunch specials are awesome, but call ahead if you get take-out.
(5)Steve K.
A very tasty and inexpensive lunch. Pad Thai lunch special came with a delicious soup and spring roll. The main course was a generous portion of flavorful pad thai. Definitely a good bargain!
(4)Anjana A.
(5)Zach G.
This place is great!! I have to say I have only been for lunch but when I worked downtown I was there at least once a week. It is perfect for lunch very fast and friendly service. Best of all you get some fantastic Thai for around $10.
(4)St P.
Excellent Thai! Great prices.
(4)Jayme J.
Intimate atmosphere, They do have a Sushi bar. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. many curry dishes. Have always had a good meal there and had my birthday dinner there for 12 people one year and it was fine...
(4)Erin L.
(5)Janet C.
Love this restaurant. Good pad Thai. Sushi is always fresh. Always clean. Staff is friendly.
(5)John N.

(3)Angela A.
(5)David G.
Hot green curry. Spring rolls and edamame always a good choice. The line was too long at Brick and mortar.
(5)Brian M.
Thanks! :)
(5)Jared F.
I've been to a lot of Sushi restaurants around the country, but this is the best place I've ever been to. You won't be disappointed. I recommend the spider roll, St Pete roll, and the dragon roll. I won't go anywhere else for sushi anymore.
(5)Caitie O.
(5)Andrea R.
(4)Carla C.
(2)Ally S.
(4)Eric R.
My favorite Thai place in St. Petersburg. A great place for lunch as their lunch menu value can't be beat. The sushi is so-so, but not bad at all.
(4)Jacqueline H.
(5)Katie N.
(3)Diane H.
(4)Stephanie W.
(5)Luis B.
Maybe its the sushi people rave about because it can't be anything else. Our food lacked any flavor.
(2)Erica S.
(4)Patrick K.
(5)Pyra-Danny V.
The service was good, brisk, and just... there.
(4)Mike B.
(5)Mel F.
It is clean and friendly. I had the Pad Thai, it was very good. Don't was your time or money on desert. Keep with Apps and entrees.
(3)Faisal D.
(2)Sarah P.
Sub-par, med-grade Japanese ish menu. We just waited over 45 minutes to receive a basic 3-roll sushi order, with absolutely no apologies.
(2)Chris L.
(5)Misty B.
Chicken pad Thai Bangkok is definitely one of the best places to get some delicious Thai. They have excellent prices, minimum wait time, and large portion sizes.
(5)Avalon R.
I'm disappointed :(
(1)Brett R.

-Cant beat 2 for $6 Sapporos -Service was a bit slow, we had to remind them of
(2)Jackie H.
(5)Aaron M.
(3)Cara M.
I love this restaurant. The Tom Kha Gai soup is amazing. The sushi is really tasty as is the red curry. I love the host at the front, he is a doll. Our favorite server there is Willy. These two are fun and sweet and always show us a great time.
(5)Jim W.
(2)Karolina Z.
(4)Josh L.
Amazing Thai food. We went with pad Thai and curry and both were amazing. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for Thai in st Pete - also solid sushi selection !
(5)Josiah G.
(3)Alex O.
Average Thai food. Nothing great or horrible about this place. That's all I have to say. Service was really good :)
(3)Ken K.
(5)Amber M.
(2)James T.
Terrible sushi I love sushi... But, this is not good. They use Krab... Fake crap is the best word for it. The Alaska roll was awful.
(2)Dianne A.
(1)Kheila L.
So delicious, clean and the staff is friendly. It's affordable and they give a decent amount of food. I always have left overs
(4)Phil D.
Always a good time here : )
(5)Barry L.
(1)Alex F.
Great Thai food. Among the best I've ever had.
(5)Thomas C K.
Excellent Thai food - also has Sushi - good for lunch. Inexpensive specials in a warm and busy atmosphere. Good service, quick and friendly. The Thai food is delicious and spicy. Frequented by the business crowd from offices in the neighborhood. I recommend it for lunch.

(4)Casey F.
My favorite thai restaurant in the area, and I've tried many! Love the pad thai and red curry
(5)Maher K.
I love this place! I work near by and eat here every other day! Food is amazingly good!! The yellow curry chicken is my favorite. The sushi is awesome too!
(5)N. Mary I.
(3)Kevin K.
(3)Andrea F.
Went today (Friday) for lunch, my co-worker had been before so I gave it a try. Their lunch specials are great and you have a variety of choices. I had the yellow curry with chicken that comes with soup and an egg roll, everything was delish.
(4)Nick E.
(5)Sarah C.
Very good food. "Pooh" the sushi chef was great; cut us in on special goodies and makes an awesome secret sauce. Definitely recommend.
(4)Tuan L.
(5)Erin S.
(4)Donna P.
(4)Crystal D.
(4)EJ P.
(4)Nat W.
Pete!
(3)Tom B.
(5)Misa C.
I always dine here when in the mood for Thai food. Excellent service. So many options, all are delicious! Can't recommend enough!
(5)Johnny C.
(4)Alex W.
(5)Beulah M.
(4)Jim T.
As an update, i think they have increased their quality. I have been back for lunch again recently, and i have enjoyed it every time. Basil beef, green curry chicken and panang dishes were all excellent.
(3)Felix T.
(4)Chris W.
(4)Karen L.
Good luncheon specials too
Seriously. Just say.. nah.
