Jimmy B's is a great beach bar attached to a dump of a hotel called the Beachcomber. On the hotel side, they could care less about improving it because they're sold out nearly all the time during season due to the lack of rooms on St Pete Beach. Fortunately, competition for drunken tourists and locals does require beach bars to be a little more customer-focused. In fall of 2013 they completed a massive expansion project that probably quadrupled their outdoor service area on a huge new deck, with parts of it covered. The tables that are not covered do have umbrellas scattered about so you can find shade most of the time if it's a very hot day. The increased size does of course require more staff; they have an army of servers, most of whom are very attentive and pleasant. They have two to four bars open depending on how busy it is and it's pretty easy to get a drink. A few of the bartenders at the outside bar have been there a while and will definitely make a strong drink, so I tend to stick to the same people on each visit. They offer all the typical foo foo tourist drinks too of course. There is often live music, and thanks to an interior area of the venue, they can keep the live music going much later than surrounding bars. They tend to book all kinds of things from pop hit cover bands to reggae to rock so you never know what you're going to get. They may have the schedule on their website if you're looking for a specific genre. If you like reggae, Toasted Monkey a few doors down may be a better option; Sundays there often has a fantastic local reggae band called Impulse. Prices on booze are fair, as well as on food. The food is what I'd call above average beach bar food. It will probably exceed expectations if you're used to hanging out at beach bars, but if you were served the same thing while going out on the town for a nice meal, you would probably not come back just for the food alone. Last but not least; ask them for a Platinum Club card; you can use it for discounts here and down the street at Grand Plaza and its associated bar Bongos.

Visiting this St Pete beach bar for the first time. Great service and atmosphere. Chicken Flatbread was perfection. Casual and dressy attire perfectly acceptable. Catch a bite, some music and a sunset in this great beach bar.

Great spot on the beach to grab drinks and even dinner! We went with a bachelorette party twice and enjoyed it both times. They had a great band on Saturday night (which i'm assuming they do every Saturday). My only complaint was how hot it was where the band was playing. We went inside to escape the FL humidity and walked into a sauna lol. We actually had to do outside to cool off which is crazy! But other than that we loved it!
(4)Jeremy K.
This is a great bar. A little pricey but you pay for the view and atmosphere. Live music 7 days week and most of the bands are legit. Food is pretty good as well. Fish spread is one of the better Ive had actually. Not a huge menu but what they have is a descent selection. Staff is all really cool and fun. They interact with the customers well and make sure everyone is enjoying their time. Perfect location right on the beach. They used to let you bring your drinks to the beach directly in front of the bar but do not anymore. Overall this place is great beach bar.

Never again!! We ordered one burger to split and two shock tops, and the waitress comes back an hour later with a jerk chicken sandwich, and says it is to "hold us over". It was way too spicy and we had to throw it away. We waited another hour and still no burger. Then we got told that the jerk chicken was in place of the burger. Not even joking. Apparently, they just give you what they want you to have, when they want you to have it. We did not want to wait any longer, so I asked for my card back. They still made me pay for the two shocktops, and even got security to track us down as if we were criminals, even though they had my card the whole time. I don't appreciate this service at all and will not be back.

Top notch beach bar with live band, full menu, good table service, and a nice view of the water! I had the double cheeseburger with bacon and my friend had the fish burger. Both were excellent. They give you the option to substitute fries for chips and salsa or coleslaw. The Service was quick and friendly. The band was great too! Will come back again! This bar has one of the large assortment of tropical drinks on St Pete Beach for $8 which includes Rum Runners, Frozen Daiquiris, Pina Coladas, Planter's Punch, Bahama Mama, Mai Tai, Banana Split, ALabama Slammer, Blue Hawaiin, Blue Violet Vitamin C, Bushwacker, Dreamsicle, and a Mudslide. For $13, you can get a large tropical Souvenir Glass with the Jimmy B's logo and gator on it! I've had their fish tacos before and those were good too. They also have salad and flat bread pizzas. The Ambiance is that of a typical beach bar with a wood deck, lots of palm trees, comfortable chairs, tables for eating and 3 walk-up bars. Dress is casual. Okay for kids and grandma! More of a restaurant than a bar. Full liquor bar. This place has an older crowd. Parking is limited for visitors that are not staying at the hotel. You can park behind the 711 across the street or you can walk over from the public beach parking 3 blocks away

Great little cozy place to eat overlooking the beach. Great live entertainment and great service. The burgers and potato skins are killer. I would put this on your list of places to visit. They suggested the most expensive local beer and it was nasty, we told them we didn't want it and still got charged for it.
(4)Paul P.
Great outdoor bar that backs right up to the beach. They have a full bar and the drinks are reasonably priced ($8 martini). "Bar food" is available and we had burgers which were suprisingly good. We also had a side a chicken wings which were meaty and tasty. They had a live band which was pretty good and added to the great beach atmosphere. Oh yeah, the view is the beach is awesome and they have a boardwalk directly from the bar to the beach so you can stumble down to the sand to watch the sunset. Booze, burgers, band, and beach. I'm not sure how you can go wrong with Jimmy B's. I will defintely be back and I defintely recommend.
(5)Angela M.
Jimmy B's is my favorite spot at the beach to hear live music. The new renovations opened up the patio. There are three bars as well as table service. You will not go thirsty. Enjoy a panoramic view of the ocean while you dance or lounge with friends. The food is slightly better than your run of the mill bar food. The fish tacos are my favorite. TIP: get a "players card" at the bar in the from of this hotel and receive a 10% discount on good and beverages! TIP #2: Park behind the seven eleven across the street. It's free when you are going to Jimmy B's.
(5)Quan D.
Quick Summary: Spacious patio where you can enjoy the ocean breeze, live music, and a cold beer. It's a great place to come and kick back and enjoy a summer's night. As it is often the case (at least for me), when I live somewhere, I rarely go to the places where everybody says you have to go... I just tend to avoid the touristy types of things. That being said I hadn't made it out the Gulf Coast beaches yet so a friend took me around to visit some of the local places, and Jimmy B's happens to be one of his favorite hang outs. Located right on the beach and on the backside of a hotel, it's a short boardwalk away from a wide sandy beach and the warm gulf waters. Great location to come escape the sun beating down on you, or to grab dinner after an exhaustive day of sitting on the beach :) The live music was nice, the patio is big enough that if you're not looking to actually be by the music, you can find plenty of spots where the volume is a little lower. There isn't much lighting outside, so the menus all come with a little LED light to help you read. I thought that was pretty neat and thoughtful. The food was pretty good, I went with the blackened fish tacos. The fish was well prepared, not dry and had a good char on the outside. I would have preferred a little spicy type sauce with mine, but wasn't hurting without it. The beer selection did leave something to be desired; it's your pretty standard non-craft fare. Probably geared more towards your tourist crowd that's just looking for something they know to drink. But there was a pretty extensive list of mixed drinks of the 'beach' variety. All in all a good place to hang out, and would come back just to enjoy some the nice ocean air.
(4)Nicki P.
Defiantly one of the most lively evening spots on the beach. Tons of sitting areas. Live music was playing the night we went. $11.50 for a corona can and vodka/sprite. All types of dress - some out for the evening (nice or casual), some just off the beach.
(4)Armando F.
Great bar. Friendly workers. Recently moved to town and they have made is very welcome. Food is awesome
(5)Robbie P.
Great atmosphere! I'm here on a Wednesday evening with a customer. Watched an awesome sunset! Bar service was good. Only one bartender which adds a delay. Live music is a treat! The fish tacos are really good!!
(4)MB C.
Beautiful beach bar with live bands. It's a fun hangout with refreshing drinks and excellent fish tacos.
(4)Todd G.
I like this place. Live bands everyday... I mean, what's not to love about that. Food has been good from what I have had so far, drinks are fine and the prices are reasonable. Now that I just bought a house a couple of miles away, I will be coming back often. Just had to shave a star off for the parking.. Or lack thereof ... Good luck finding a spot on the weekend. Allow yourself an extra 30min just for that task.
(4)Bonnie F.
Best place to go on the beach to get decent food, see live bands and dance the night away. Drinks are consistant and with three bars and a multi level huge deck for different experiences you can't go wrong. Every late night band we've seen hasn't dissapointed and the sound is great. The staff are professional and they handle the crowd well with very short wait times if any for drinks . We always have a great time when we go.
(5)Anna V.
So lucky to have walked off the beach and found this place! The food was great and our bartender, Brad, was awesome. Lovely bar right on the ocean with a an amazing view!
(5)Leighann S.
Always enjoy the mudslides there. The best I've ever had. Visited there a few times over the past week I spent at the beach. Did not eat there in the past but food was average. I always enjoy the atmosphere with live bands, plenty of seating, friendly staff. Will keep going back.
(4)Brandon B.
Fast service. Nice spacious outdoor area. Amazing view right on the beach. How could you go wrong!
(4)Joanna L.
Fantastic setting on the St. PETE beach. Live music 7 days a week and 3 bands on Sat and Sun...Food is so so but the drinks are relatively cheap...Close to all other beach music spots and one of my favorite places to go....
(5)Kathleen H.
For a beautiful spot to sit and chill five stars! Food...no idea, drinks and atmosphere awesome! Since the renovation the place is so beautiful not much I could complain about.
(4)Ali G.
Don't plan on getting out of here quickly. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for ONE.. Let me repeat, ONE appetizer. Our food came another 20 minutes after that. My food was really good, however my husband's food was cold once it arrived. It's a shame this place wasn't faster, because it's at a great spot right on the beach.
(2)Amy Z.
Outdoor bar, right on the beach, with great drinks and live music. It always gets packed, but you always seem to have some personal space is nice.
(4)Steve O.
Great beach music and the wife enjoyed the vitamin C cocktails and the outside heaters rock.
(5)Phillip P.
Such a fun night! Live music was incredible, had everyone on the dance floor. DB was the band, cover band of all music genres! The food was great (try their flat breads) as well as beer on tap. Can't go wrong with sunsets, beer good music and food!
(5)Josh Y.
Drinks were nice and stiff. The coconut shrimp was delicious. 6 mixed drinks and 2 platters of food under 100 and on the beach. What more could you ask for?
(4)Arlene R.
Stayed at the Beachcomber with my girlfriend and since Jimmy B's is on the property we stopped by there for lunch the day we checked in. Since it was pretty dead we sat wherever we wanted and the waitress was attentive. I didn't think the drinks were very strong at first but by the 3rd one, I was feeling it. We both ordered the flat bread and truthfully it was not good. That was our only food experience so I can't say if the rest was good or not. The last night we were staying there, we went for a few cocktails. Was quite lively but still could find room at the bar to order a drink. Except we stood there for at least 5-7 minutes before we were recognized and then another 5 minutes before the bartender actually came over to get our drink orders. For the small plastic cup they give you, its pricey for the drinks - and the drinks that evening weren't particularly good either. Good place to people watch and be by the ocean but if you're coming here specifically for food and drink, you may be disappointed.
(3)Rob M.
Place was nice until the bartenders made it clear they only cared for the locals. Also they were kind enough to add a 25$ tip to my transaction cause they were not happy with my original tip. If you like fraud bad service and sunsets this is your place.
(1)Barbara F.
Great sunset view and terrific coconut shrimp appetizer. The burger was dry and tasteless because the waiter insisted it could only be cooked well done and the cole slaw was all mayo. My friend's salad with chicken was also less than average. Go for the view and the appetizer. Then find a different place for dinner.
(2)Molly D.
Disappointing. We were excited to check this place out. Parking guys were AWESOME. There were signs that said to seat yourself and you will be served. However, service was non-existent until I found one bartender 20 minutes later who was willing to take our dinner order. Band was playing and people were having a good time, but wasn't our scene. Burger was good, but wish the bun had been warmed up on the grill.
(1)Yana W.
Love Jimmy B's! Very cool place to hang out and get drinks with friends. The place looks amazing after their recent renovation too. It has expanded and can accommodate many people. Little water features and plants all over the place are also a great touch. Feel like every time I visited, they had live music. Great sunset watching spot. One can walk right to the beach from there. I've never really eaten there, but drinks are reasonably priced and service is always good.
(4)Sharon M.
Great place , Great staff, Great Music alot of fun! Sara and Mark are the best ... Love this place! Can't wait to go back again... yelp.com/guidelines
(4)Shelley W.
I love Jimmy B's! It has everything you could ever ask from a beach bar. The live music is always going with a roomy area for dancing. There are multiple bars for convenience as well as tons of seating if you prefer being served. There is also an extensive menu if you get hungry. The fish tacos are good if you want a local option. The best part of Jimmy B's is the view. It's directly on the water and has a long pier leading out. It's a must go type of place.
(4)Nick R.
Grat atmosphere, right on the beach with a great view of the sunset. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and the entertainment is always fun
(4)Whitney S.
Awesome atmosphere!!! Best beach bar in St. Pete! Live music every night, friendly bartenders, reasonably priced drinks. 3 bars overlooking the Gulf, great hangout place with TONS of seating! The food is awesome too and there's nothing on the food menu more than $15! It's a must to go here if you're staying nearby!!
(5)James C.
Still 5 stars from me!! I was in St Pete for a few days and we ended up here twice... the drinks are great, yes a little pricey but pretty strong! After 1 drink I was feeling it! Great selection of beers on tap. Attentive and friendly waitstaff. The first time we went on a Wednesday afternoon and we both had bacon cheeseburgers and beer and it was all really good. We also ended up there on Christmas afternoon and they had 2 servers and 2 bartenders for the entire patio, but man these kids hustled. I mean, they were *literally* running to bring people their food, drinks, etc. All the while, wearing big friendly smiles. Great service, great food, great drinks, great patio, great location... plus walk out directly to the beach! Anytime I'm in SPB, I'll make a point to come by Jimmy B's because they (unlike others) GET IT and I've never had a bad experience here.
(5)Steve R.
The music is great. The drinks are average and priced high. The men's bathroom by the pool needs a haz mat crew every time we come. Week old Port A Potties are cleaner and smell better!
(1)Todd C.
Not my favorite. It's a long walk thru a cheap hotel. Good location on the beach. The band tonight sucked. They were stuck in the 80's and out of key. Service was slow at the bar the was empty. Only had one drink and left. Not my kinda place.
(2)Alex B.
Had a great Friday lunch, and had great service from Chris. The weather was perfect and their new upgrades have made this place a must on each trip to St. Pete Beach.
(5)Mike G.
Was there on 8-19-14. They got our orders all messed up. They are working on that. But... We stayed for the band "Kingpin" . 4 excellent musicians! Good music.
(4)Andy S.
I went here Jan. 1 to see some bands while on vacation. The bar is enormous. They have a decent size indoor area where the bands played and plenty of outside space, with couches and tables or actual bar space, whichever you preferred to sit at. We did order a couple of different kinds of wings. They were what I'd expect in FL when you order wings. They were pretty good and I'd get them again but not great. The bartender was SUPER friendly and had a great memory. When we ordered wings he said he'd make sure to get us extra blue cheese, which we didn't ask for but it was nice, he seemed on top of things. Always remembered what me and my kids and GF were drinking when we went up to order more. I give the bar and the staff a 4.5/5 and the wings a 3. I like this place.
(4)Michelle P.
This is one of my favorite bars on the beach! Live music everyday, great service, fun atmosphere, pretty good food selection and of course a beautiful view of the ocean! It's one of the biggest beach bars too (at least that I've been too). They have an area for the band outside along with an area for dancing and dining, and then 3 different bar areas. During the day they have the a band outside, and then at night they have an area inside for the band. The bands are always really good and keep the atmosphere fun! This place is usually far busier and night, but during the day it's a good spot to grab lunch or enjoy an ice cold drink. They have the best service on the beach too - this could be the reason why they always win best beach bar every year. Just a few tips: -If you plan on driving, there's parking across the street behind the 7-11 for free. -If you plan on coming here often, ask one of the servers or bartenders for a "Players Card" for some great discounts!

Date of visit - 8/8/2015 Growing up in St Petersburg, I have been coming to Jimmy B's on and off for a very long time. This is my first trip back since they have expanded the deck area and it looks fantastic. I remember when it was just a single tiki bar and not it is 3 tiki bars with a gorgeous deck just a short walk away from the Gulf of Mexico! I can't speak from personal experience at this point because of my allergy to alcohol but my wife assured me that they still make one of the best rum runner's on St Pete Beach! The food has always been top notch and this was no exception. My wife decided to try the blackened fish tacos and fries... Since this was my last day of medication I was not very hungry so I just had a nibble from her plate. When my wife and I want a mini getaway with a stop at a tiki bar... Jimmy B's is where we go! Check them out the next time you are in on St Pete Beach and you will thank me!
(5)Trout B.
1st visit: Drinks were good. My wife enjoyed the Banana Split drink. The fish tacos were fantastic. Most importantly the ambiance and music was AWSOME! We will be back. Update:: We went back 2 other times in the 4 days we were in the area. The second time the food was good, but there was no band playing which made the food seem overpriced. The 3rd time we could hear a band playing from the beach so we decided to go in. Big mistake! Our food took an hour to arrive and was barely luke warm. The server seemed overwhelmed and didn't check on us until our food was already eaten. I told him I was very disappointed and that this was our 3rd time there in 4 days. He said "you should have told me" and I said "you didn't stop to check on us". He talked to management and they took 2 beers off our bill. Really? That's like only a 50 cent cost to them. What a joke. The waiter said they were short staffed and he shouldn't even be there because he felt ill and had chills. Thanks for that info buddy. Would have been nice to know that before you handled our food and drinks. If you want a $13 luke warm entree, served by sick staff, that takes an hour to arrive then this is the place for you. I won't be back. I'd have given one star if it had been based on this one visit.
(2)Nadine F.
The first time I came here, I looked out and said "You can't see the water!" Which is obviously an important detail for me when it comes to beach bars, especially during the day or at sunset. I gave it a try anyways and was impressed with every other detail of this little hidden bar. Hidden behind the hotel, this little bar was surprising! The food was good. A lot better than I expected. The drinks were nice and strong and the service was great. Unfortunately the lack of an ocean view, will probably always send me running in to the arms of another, but this place is my back-up plan!
(3)Jordan C.
Great place for lunch on the beach. Nice views. Steve our waiter was great. Will definitely check them out again.
(5)Kendrick F.
Fun spot on the beach for very strong drinks and great local bands. The food I've tried here is excellent as well as my fish tacos were fresh and delicious and just big enough of a portion to fill me up to soak up the alcohol. Love the wet spot drink which is like a blueberry Pina colada. I know it sounds weird but trust me it's awesome! Lots of space outside for big groups and comfortable chairs to lounge in. This is one of my favorite spots on the beach to hang out! Only downside is having to walk through the Beachcomber hotel to get there, but it's worth it!
(4)Jim K.
This place is great. They have live music and a killer bar. I had their fish tacos which were excellent. I decided to try a rum runner. It was so good that it's dangerous! The food and drink plus the atmosphere make it worthy of 5 stars
(5)K.L. R.
I love this bar. It's always got good live music and they have really good food too. Great place to socialize if you wanna get out of the sun for a minute. I always take a dip in their pool too if it's really hot (not sure if you're technically allowed to do this but no one has ever said anything to me). The drinks are pricey, but hey - that's what you expect at a beach bar.
(5)Liliya S.
Stayed at the Beachcomber hotel and went here for a late dinner after our check in. It was extremely dark to see the menu and our waiter was becoming impatient when it took us a little longer to decide what to order. When we asked for a glass of tap water, our waiter said that he could bring us one from the toilet since they only had bottled water to serve. What a rude and unacceptable comment!!! The food and our drinks were less than average. Did not enjoy a band that was playing hard rock that night either. Another day, ordered frozen drinks to the pool. Both of them had more whip cream in them than the rest of the ingredients. On top of all, one night I was walking through the bar to get to the beach. I did not plan on ordering anything based on the earlier experience. Then out of nowhere a tipsy waitress who was leaving to go home for the day decided to card me, even though a bunch of security guys around the bar did not care. What right did she have to give me a hard time was puzzling, must have been a very bad and tipless day for her! So obnaxious! Overall, we liked our stay at the Beachcomber and will definitely come back. However, won't bring my business to this restaurant ever again!
(1)Alison A.
Absolutely the worst bar I've ever been to. I had the blue violet which is juice and more juice. There was absolutely no alcohol in this drink. Then I tried a frozen orange drink which was absolutely disgusting again. Again no alcohol. This is not a bar. If you want juice you'll love it. Alcohol? Not so much. Had to leave ASAP. The band was ok. That's the only reason why it even got 1 star.
(1)Jennifer N.
Best bar on the beach. Free parking across the street, I've never had to wait long for a drink, and it's right on the beach! Love this place, especially at sunset.
(5)Heather M.
The beach bar feeling was there, but the food options were lacking. I came here on an early Friday evening with my mom and sister because my sister frequents this place often. The building/bar is open aired and it outlooks to the beautiful beach. It's set-up on a deck with two separate bars. There is a lounge section that gives off that South Beach feel. There is also places to sit at tables. For drinks, they have a full service bar. The prices were normal, which surprised me since we were on the beach. Apparently the bar offers some sort of card/club, but the waitress didn't elaborate on it so I have no idea what it does or what it includes. For food, they work with the hotel's restaurant called Players, which is a sports bar. The menu was limited and the kitchen wasn't flexible. I ordered the jerk chicken sandwich and it came with fries or coleslaw for $11. I didn't want either so I asked if I could get a side house salad and I was denied, but I could get a full size house for $8. I was not going to pay $19 for a chicken sandwich and a house salad. So needless to say I was disappointed. The sandwich was spicy, but the sauce caused my bun to get soggy quick. It was just ok. My mom ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer and the shrimp were nice size and the sweet chili dipping sauce was delicious. The service was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I would return for drinks and lounging, but not for food.
(3)Roxi A.
Atmosphere - lively, entertaining, beachy, tropical, spacious, chill, romantic, relaxing. Food - delicious! Jerk chicken is amazing, especially the wings! The sauce has a little tangy kick, but nothing unbearable. Bacon burger was ok..a little cold and the bread seemed like a store brand bun. Mom had the BBQ chicken panini - I had 2 bites, but I WANTED MORE! We both unexpectedly loved it! French fries - yum! Crunchy, salty, and plentiful. RANCH DRESSING - ew! Totally watered down!! The Toasted Monkey next door definitely does the same with their ranch too,,,super watery and tasteless. Service - not bad but not the greatest. I mean it was a slow Wednesday night..everything took forever..but then again our waiter seemed to be taking care of most tables. This place gets 4 stars because of the great atmosphere, jerk sauce, panini and French fries!
(4)Tiffany H.
This should be a 2.5, but I think it should be rounded down before it gets rounded up. I've been here a couple times and had kind of lame experiences each time. Middle of the week during the day? Crummy service and mediocre food. Middle of the week at night? Okay service, but nothing special. Weekend night? Good grief. Maybe it's just because season has started back up, but there were tons of older people acting like they were 21. Way too many totally wasted older people. I'm not sure if everyone was drinking the desperation away or what, but I couldn't stick it out that long. The place was packed though, with a generic cover band doing its thing. I don't know how I keep getting dragged here but I wish it would stop.
(2)Hillary V.
I went really late on a Sunday, so it was dead. But the set up is nice. I can definitely see this would be a fun place to go if you are young and want to get drunk.
(3)Paula W.
Jimmy B's has a great beach atmosphere. The view of the beach was great. There weren't a lot of food options and the drinks were a bit expensive.
(3)Angelo L.
Nice place right on the beach. Live music, TV's and bars everywhere. Food was OK and drinks were OK for the price and pours.
(3)Leslie D.
Excellent beach bar. Really good live music. Multiple bars. Friendly bar staff.
(5)Jillian C.
Got kicked out for using the mens restroom for an emergency. Terrible hospitality and rude staff. This goes for the Beachcomber as well, staff had no concern for the issue and it was obvious they don't really care about their guests.
(1)Damion W.
The place is a bit divey. They do have live music, but getting inside to see them requires pushing through a sea of bodies and smoke. The patio is better and they're currently doing construction to expand it quite a bit. Funny people watching with the "too old to be wearing that" locals flirting with tourists.
(2)Nick E.
Pretty nice bar on the beach behind a hotel. They have friendly bartender's, drink prices are decent for being on the beach. They have had live music every time I've been which is really nice. The only down side is they are picky with your I.D. so make sure there isn't anything wrong with yours before going. Good place to check out though.
(4)A. J. K.
Wow!! They remodeled since last year. Place looks awesome and is a lot bigger. Huge deck with 3 bars. Solid beach food. Great for live music during the day and night. Guaranteed to have a good time here.

This is attached to the beachcomber hotel- it's large and spacious with three bars. All the furniture is updated with plenty of places to enjoy. Service is friendly and quick- staff is welcoming and friendly. The live music is a nice touch. The view is worth a million dollars and makes this place what it is. It's so inviting for locals or tourists. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and drinks from the bar! Will definitely be back for more!

Stopped in there on a Saturday night. Very mixed crowd. Great place for people watching. A good beach bar with a cool layout.

Fun bar! We went during the day and it was not too busy. There was a cute cover band there, too! Not a fan of the draft beer... I don't know what they did but the beer tasted bad. Had the fish quesadilla and it was delicious! Fries were pretty good as well. Overall a fun place with good food. I'll just order bottled beer next time!

Jimmy B's....Oh Jimmy B's. How I spent two weeks there one night....Oh boy. A story for another time. Do ya like beach bars, do ya like beautiful people, then Yelpers....get your behinds to Jimmy B's...will ya? Such a great place to relax and listen to great beach music. If you ever happen to be here when StormBringer is playing, you have just been given a gift from whatever Deity you worship....they are that great and friendly. Kind of an 80's cover band but have been around for decades cause they're that good....trust me. If you happen to come during the day, see Sara behind bar, she is great. After hours, Darlene is serving up the Wet Spots to keep you cool during the summer nights. Please give this business your patronage...they deserve it as they have been around for years and years - and as we Yelpers know...businesses do not survive if they suck @SS..... ({---is that allowed). YELP !!!!!!

Always fun - good drinks - right on the beach - music - just another day in paradise!

My favorite bar to visit in St. Petersburg! I love coming here for the live music and the breathtaking beach front location. I enjoy coming here to enjoy the sunset. They also serve food until 11pm each night. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I always have a great time when I visit Jimmy B's!

Sit at the outside bar... enjoy the live music

So this was a quick late evening trip and we arrived just a few minutes before the live band was finished. The place was hoping and party atmosphere was really impressive for a Thursday night! Seemed like a mixed crowd and the boardwalk is very pretty. All in all, I plan on going back again to stay for a while.

I went here for the first time Memorial weekend and although the bar ws absolutely jam packed, the bartenders were very friendly. As a bartender myself, I know how it can be when you are working very hard and get bombarded. They certainly had grace under pressure and gave wonderful service with a smile. We took food to go and I ordered a spicy chicken wrap that was delicious. I will be back real soon.....great view as well!

Jimmy B's was a great time on a Friday night. The band we saw was Cell Fish, they were fantastic, good rock and roll, from Black Sabbath to AC DC to Nickleback. We had a great time at the bar which sat right on the beach. We stayed at the hotel where Jimmy B's was located but we won't go back to the hotel again unless I'm broke. It was fairly inexpensive but I soon found out why when I found a chip bag in the sheets. EEWWW!

Had a blast here!!! The music was great, and the bartender always had drinks waiting for us. The sunset was beautiful from this bar, it was right on the beach.. Loved it!

Last night was my second visit to Jimmy B's and it once again did not disappoint. The drink prices are reasonable, the pours are strong and the people watching cannot be beat! This particular night, the live band performing was Papa Cherry. They also had tvs playing sports. This bar is indoor/outdoor and both times I've been it was crowded - not uncomfortably so, though. Definitely not a fancy place - jeans, tshirt and flip flops is just fine. It's definitely a breather from even the 'dives' in Miami...

Lets be perfectly honest here, this is a great beach bar and it is crowded, loud, and fun. I don't get why people write reviews about bars and complain about service, get over it. When there's tons of people crammed into a bar it may take a little while to get a drink, and maybe that would annoy me sometimes, but you're on the beach here, the waves are right behind you, there's live music, and plenty of alcohol so get over it. On to the review. We came to Jimmy Bs because we were walking up the beach and heard the live music. We had a group of 7, sat at a table and service was a little sporadic but we never had a drink go dry without our waitress coming back. I wouldn't venture inside because there's only 2 bartenders at that bar and way more people. Sit outside, there's a full service outdoor bar as well as an ice chest of beers with a beer girl serving for cash. Drinks are typical for St Pete, frozen everything, rum runners, pina coladas, etc. We got buckets of wet spots (basically blueberry pina coladas) served in beach pails with shovels to dole out the drinks. I'm a fan, I normally stick to beer or whisky but you have to drink some colorful drinks when you're on the beach. The rum runner buckets were also great. Food is typical bar food, not good by any means but really hit the spot that night about midnight. You'll have fun if you come out here.

Had a great time on a relaxing slow off season afternoon. Awesome live music by Johnny B! Laid back, friendly clientele. (in spite of at least one "entitled" local) Great drink service from Kelly. We didn't have any food, so no advice there.

A bit pricey for the small drinks in dixie cups. It is on the beach with seating available but as I watch the servers it didn't seem like they were very attentive to the customers. It is a typical tourist attraction lots of drunks in bad bathing suits..All in all get one drink and watch for a bit and move on.

Just sat down and waited 10 minutes for service. I had to get my own menu, the most I got from the wait staff was a smile from one of the servers. I finally got up and left, and the waitress thanked me and said come back again?? Seriously, I didn't even get to order! I could understand if the place was busy, but besides my table, there only 3 other tables with people! This was at 630. Even though I'm at the hotel here, a good deal, skip on the restaraunt! Go across the street to the Irish pub restaraunt.

Best beach bar on the west coast! I always have a great time at this place. They have live cover bands day and night. I wouldn't go for the food I would go for the drinks and people watching! It's a great way to enjoy the sun and listen to live music. The bar is attached to the hotel and most of the time attracts tourist. Carry cash, it is easy.

We are from Chgo & started going to Jimmy's a few years ago whenever we are in Clearwater/St Pete area. What can I say......it's a beach bar that has really friendly bartenders, Darlene & Bill are the regulars. They make great drinks, pretty cheap & they always have kick ass bands almost daily I believe even during the day hours. It can get pretty crowded so if you don't mind standing by the main bar, or they have plenty of outdoor seating on the decks. It's right on the beach, so it's a short stroll down the path to the sand. They also have typical bar food if you are hungry. Try the frozen rum runners, pretty good stuff!

Wait staff rude, place a disappointment

the fun alone 24 hrs a day is worth a visit... never had food there

Best live music, great bartenders, amazing sunsets!!! Phoenix is the best band!!!

This place sucks. Went there on a Friday, it is a great location, and a nice looking beach bar. That is about it. The people there are complete trash almost all including the waitress were missing teeth. I was driving so I wasn't drinking, so I asked the waitress for a seltzer with lime. She was like a what? I'm like club soda, push the button on the bar gun for no syrup. She finally was like you want a water? I'm like yes fine a water like out the toilet which she finally understood. When my dad asked for another beer she was like you want the same one? Yes he wanted the same one he just drank. There were a bunch of biker trash people in there as well. I would not ever go back to this dump.

Typical college type bar. Smells like combination of urine and beer spilled all over the place. Lots of meatheads.

Great place. Awesome music. Nice drink. Near beach.

I have been coming to St. Pete beach my whole life, and as an adult I have been down there many times with friends, trying out bars and restaurants. Honestly - don't go here. The atmosphere is decent, if you're into people vomiting in the nearby pool, or shirtless townies sidling up to your table and asking you to lick their elbows. All of that fun aside, this place has, by far, the worst service I have ever experienced at any bar or restaurant in that area - actually, maybe ever, in general. And I've been to some bars before. This is not my first rodeo. I'm not sure where the bartender received his training, but where I'm from, you work your way down the bar, take orders, fill them, then when you get to the end of the bar, start over. Ta-daa! Nice and orderly, and everyone is happy. Here, apparently not, as he took orders out of turn from pretty much every other patron at the bar, and then the ones behind them. Once he finally deigned to ask us what we'd like, he filled three other people's orders before getting around to making our drinks. Then he got three out of five of them wrong - seriously - that's 60% incorrect. Then he made us wait another 10 minutes to get us the check. Not much better luck with the bartenders inside, either. I swore I'd write it up on here, even though it doesn't appear that St. Pete/Clearwater pays much attention to Yelp reviews. But if I can just save one person.... Seriously - bad place. Don't waste your time, energy, or money.

Best "music' bar on the beach. Great for lazy Sunday afternoons especially during late winter and early spring.

If you're a tourist and you're looking for a typical Florida Beach bar to party your sunburned little ass off, then Jimmy B's is perfect. Connected to the Travelodge hotel (which is convienint) this place has all the makings of a good time the moment you walk in. An outdoor deck during the day has music from 2pm-7pm with the usual beach type cover bands. Then after 7pm the indoor stage lights up and you get your typical beach side cover bands but at night. It gets pretty crowded especially during season. Drinks are kind of pricey also. Try the Wet Spot if you have never been there before. Also at sunset they give out free shots.
