Mediocre service and food. They weren't helpful in answering questions. The mood was typical Thai, nothing exceptional. Before you finished your appetizer they brought out the entrees...it was as if they were on a mission to get you out of there as fast as they could. For the price, it wasn't impressive.

Basil Leaf: the joint is aptly named as this leaf was the primary ingredient in my Red Curry (making it taste more like licorice soup than a curry). We were immediately seated upon entrance to the small restaurant. The hostess dropped the menus on the table and then walked away before we even sat down. We sat there in the strangely dim booth for over 10 minutes before the waitress showed up. Once we ordered our meal and drinks, we sat for another 5 minutes and my Red Curry arrived with our drinks. My wife had ordered a California Roll as she wasn't very hungry, but it took literally another 15 minutes after I got my food for her to get hers. I would have been more understanding, but the place was pretty dead. The waitress visited our table maybe once or twice and was completely disinterested in what she was doing. I would have left a one star review but we were able to complete the transaction of the eating their food and giving them our money so they did that part pretty well.

Where to begin.... I am a local and enjoy finding new Asian restaurants. We stumbled upon Basil Leaf with our group of friends on vacation from Chicago and were happy that they are open late. I cannot believe we gave these people our money! The restaurant wasn't crowded, and yet it took 45 minutes to seat our party and the service was horrible. After placing our orders it took an hour to receive our food and some in our party had to ask twice for our appetizers as our entrees began to come out. Some of the rolls we ordered were never even brought out to us. The worst part of this whole experience is when we received our bill. Our server charged us twice for some of our orders and over charged us by $50 dollars by putting sushi rolls that we did not order. Instead of the the management coming out to professionally handle the situation, we argue with our server and multiple staff members. The chef even came out to tell us he made the food, when he has no business to discuss our check. We had the staff remove the 18% gratuity which they added on the bill and in the end because of the staff not being accommodating we didn't even tip. I am Asian and this Asian food is sub par at best. Do not give these people your business

Outstanding Thai food! Our first night in town we were looking for a place open at 10 pm. We were so happy with this wonderful place we stumbled on. Our six year old loved the basil chicken.
