Great beer selection. Happy hour 4 to 7. Also kill the keg night Small kitchen but food is excellent -- French onion soup is good. But be sure to try some of their draft beers

Not a fan. The place is very loud and it echoes. They won't turn up the juke box-they actually turn it down, so don't waste your money-I probably should've asked for my $5 back that I played in touch tunes. They do have a lot of beers on tap. I had their French onion from a recommendation on yelp-it was amazing monies the fact the onions were crunchy. Out of all the places I've been in St.Augustine this is my only not come back place.

Pretty nice place tucked away across from the river past the Bridge of Lions on the opposite side of old town St Augustine from Castillo de San Marcos. It is past A1A Aleworks, which is easy to spot on the corner walking along the river away from the Castillo. Fun sports bar like atmosphere with a giant TV and bar stool seating. Had a local feel to it which is nice. They have food but we had dinner elsewhere before hand. The tap list is large...30-40 craft beers it seemed like to me at a glance with a decent selection of local beers and a lot of uninteresting European imports. Service was prompt and extremely welcoming- a highlight. Would definitely drop in here every time I'm in St. Augustine just to see what's up and there could be some interesting surprises on tap- who knows. So, a decent beer bar- lots of selection, but could use more local taps.

This is our go to place when we come to St. Augustine. We love the ever changing options which allows us to always discover new beers. The people are friendly. And the food is pretty good too. Plus they have FREE Wifi! You must come here if you are in to craft beers and in the area.

Again, the Mediterranean platter was a home run! This time I tried their house made sangria and it's the best I've had anywhere. A hint of peach and a touch of pineapple and orange. mmmmmm My hubby also tried the on tap root beer and was equally impressed!

Came in here today for happy hour. As soon as we walked in we noticed it was very hot and smelled like sweat. We sat down anyway because hubby wanted to try their extensive beer list. The two available tables needed to be cleaned. We had to ask for our waitress to do that. Seems like something that's part of their job description. There was a ton of waiters, but stacks of dirty glasses everywhere. We asked for water but never got it. We waited for at least 10 minutes every time we asked for something. Save your time and moneys.

Great spot for to find some craft beer and grub. Always a fantastic brew selection, both bottled and draft.

A must stop for any beer lover. Best selection of beer in St. Augustine. Food and service was great too!!!

  • Nick C.

Nice beer selection. Nice bar atmosphere. Personally I wouldn't eat here, there are so many good restaurants in town. Service was a bit slow. We should be moving forward on the next drink order before were done with the current drink. Not waiting 10 min.

Beer was awesome, service food, however the steak was gristly and full of tendons. Sent back half the meat and all of the side was given half off. Not a good steak house, horrible actually!

I wish I had better things to say but unfortunately we don't. The server was completely uninterested during our entire visit. We had to ask her the specials and she stumbled through them. We ordered and and had to ask for refills on drinks at least once. Food was not great and the potato salad was the worst we had ever tasted. Several of us have worked as servers and all agreed that the service was less than expected.

Great little bar to watch football in! Awesome draft beer selection and the food is AMAZING! We had the French onion soup, goat cheese crostini, and chicken salad sandwich with pasta salad. The crostinis were sooooooo good!!! The service is awesome too! Love this place!

Was highly recommend by our cabbie. So high hopes right off the bat. Ordered the Matazan sandwich. Comes with chicken and andouille sausage. How can you go wrong? I got a sausage only sandwich while one of my friends who ordered the same thing got a chicken only one. Not impressed.

I live here and this is one of my favorite go to places when we go downtown! I highly recommend trying the many different beers. My favorite right now is the chocolate covered raspberry stout. Yummy

This place is a little larger than I had anticipated. Still not large. Their bar is bigger than over at A1A Alehouse, though. Nectar IPA was excellent - better than the IPA I had at A1A, in fact. While the beer menu is extensive, the food menu isn't. Salads & sandwiches. Reuben hit the spot - nothing to complain about there. The potato salad on the side was bland, maybe why they have such a small serving. Good service. Some might say the barkeep was a little gruff, but he was attentive and that is all I ask.

Love love love this place. The wait staff is great, the beer selection superb and the lunch specials are inventive and diverse. I've been eating here for years and always get the daily special...never gone wrong!

The food was absolutely delicious. We started off with the Baked Brie. We were savoring every bite of it. It's to die for. For my meal I ordered the Matanazas sandwich. The dressing and sausages complimented the sandwich very well. The waitress was very nice too! Overall it's definitely a place to try when in town!

We stopped in here on a Saturday to inquire about television availability the next day to watch our Seahawks game at 4pm. We spoke with the owner/manager (really nice guy), who said we shouldn't have an issue since most people leave after the 1pm games, and there will be a nice changeover. He recommended we just stand nearby, wait for a table to open up, and then snag it. Fast forward to Sunday. We arrived at 3:30pm just to be safe. We went to the back room, and waited a few minutes before a couple left from a table up front. We promptly snagged the table and were going to wait for our game. After about 15 minutes with no table service, a server asked us to move and said the table was reserved. This was surprising since it appeared there was no reserving of tables, per our visit the day before to inquire. This is a bar, after all! So, we moved. The man who reserved the table sat down and made a comment to me about being from Wisconsin and wanting a front row seat for his game. Really? What makes him a bigger, better, and more important fan than WE are of OUR team? We ended up talking to some other fans who said we could have their table after their game ended, so we ended up with a front row seat at a television at the back of the room. Despite sitting down at 4:05pm,and being in the room since 3:30pm, we still had not been served. Finally, at 4:30pm, I went to the bar to order our drinks and bring them back to our table. At 5pm, I went to the bar again to order our food to have it delivered to our table. It wasn't until after this second visit to the bar (to see the owner/manager) that we finally started to receive table service. We watched for over an hour while the server visited every table there but ours. It was really weird. While the menu was good for a bar, it was overpriced for bar food. The quality was still bar quality. Based on the inconsistent messages to customers (letting some reserve tables, and others not -- why were we treated differently?), and lack of service, we won't return for NFL Sunday. There are plenty of bars in Old Town showing games, and plenty of other places we visited over the subsequent days that would have been better than this.

Great beer, great sandwiches, really good French onion soup. Helped by the fact that we were the only table in the back room, So got good attention.

Great sports bar with a gourmet menu. My boyfriend and I decided to go to JP Henley's after a little research. We wanted to go somewhere with TV's to watch football but also have a good dining experience. It is very clean inside and has nice flat screen TV's which my boyfriend was happy about. They have a very extensive beer menu so I was glad to see that they offer a sampler of four different beers for about $8 which I got. If you're looking for a legit dinner with entrees this isn't your place. Their menu consists of appetizers, salads and sandwiches, but it definitely not your average bar food menu. First we shared the french onion soup which was okay but not the best I have ever had. My boyfriend ordered the French Melt, a roast beef sandwich topped with brie cheese and caramelized onions. He liked his meal so much he wanted to go back the next day to eat the same sandwich! I ordered the Matanzas sandwich that consisted of garlic roasted chicken breast, andouille sausage & Spanish machego cheese on herbed focaccia with honey balsamic dressing...so tasty!! Don't expect to find wings and potato skins at this bar, you are in for a gourmet food adventure that I highly recommend!

Whenever we are in St Augustine we enjoy the food, beer and atmosphere at JP Henley's. Big screen TVs everywhere, 60 or more beers on tap with frequent new selections and the food is NOT your typical fried bar food, we have had everything on the menu over the years, it's hard to choose, everything is so good. Prices reasonable and service friendly.

  • Andy J.

Made another stop to have craft beer and watch the Gators play. Our waitress was helpful and the beer selection was excellent as well (70 on tap!). I can't think of a better place to catch a game in St. Augustine. The only disappointment was that they were out of the giant pretzels.

Just visiting St augustine, this place was a great stop for lunch. Goat cheese and grape tomatoes on ciabatta appetizer was delicious, the matanzas sandwich was AMAZING. My bf had the French dip sandwich and loved it. Very friendly service too! Definitely stop by.

Awesome service, great sandwiches, tons and tons and tons of draft beers! As good as a pub could be

  • David H.

For a pub this is a very good restaurant. The menu is limited. But what they serve is well prepared and presented. There is an awesome beer selection from around the world. The service was great. Phoebe was by herself but managed to keep glasses filled and customers happy. She gave us several helpful suggestions to help make our vist in St Augustine more enjoyable.

Ditch bar owned by the rich local family. Charges too much for foreign beer, and this part of downtown lacks things to do. Haven't been impressed, and I've been 3 times. Kitchen always closes early and only offered stale bread as an appetizer. Would not recommend. 2/5

Great selection of beer and descent wine selection. Staff very friendly and attentive.

  • Tom G.

Nice place off the beaten path in the Old Town. Service was good and a number of beers on tap, although a fairly small place. We only had a beer and an appetizer, but I'd try it again and maybe have a meal next time.

  • Jerrik S.

Great beer selection with a constant rotation. Service is always spot on. If your expecting a 5 star meal you will be disappointed, however if you want a great atmosphere, nice people and even nicer staff you will be right at home. Great vegetarian options and quick wraps. Gotta love JP's!

I have to agree with the majority of the reviews in saying that JP Henley's is one of the best, if not the best, bar around the St. Augustine area. Tucked in a small storefront on Marine St., JP Henley's is probably often overlooked for its micro brewery neighbor A1A Ale Works. If you are in the area, you MUST make your way over and visit this bar. Packed with 50+ taps, awesome flat screen tvs perfect for watching any game, and a welcoming staff, JP Henley's is a must try while in St. Augustine. They also have several wines, which can be ordered by the glass or the ounce. Prices are always reasonable, unlike the other craft beer bar (Rondevou), and they allow you to order in smaller pours to try many beers. While I have never had the food, I have had more than my fair share of brews from this bar. The staff has always been extremely helpful in answering any questions, and are always glad to help my girlfriend in selecting her beer. The service has always been spot on, and I have never been left sitting at the bar for more than a couple of minutes waiting to order. They usually have very good rotating seasonal beers that you don't typically see in Florida. The bar seems to be packed during the college semester, but I have also visited during the summer with only a few patrons inside. I wish I could somehow transplant this bar to Orlando!

Good selection of overpriced beer. Nice side room, overpriced food with plastic utensils! When called on it the waitress got all defensive and had a prepared answer so she's heard it before. Nice side room for groups, all in all I'll stick to the American Legion and leave JP Henleys to the tourists. Horrid potato salad, they boiled Russets, which are more suitable for baking. But if you've gotta spend $30 for one beer, this is the place for you. Great place to come if you've hit the lottery or someone else is buying. On the plus side you can get samples, so if you're trying a new beer, I'd advise it. (Chocolate and orange is great, but I'd try the beer first before ordering a pint). Another plus, owner or manager came to offer a free beer when he heard I wasn't happy, so I'll add a star

Good atmosphere. Excellent location in the historic district of St. Augustine. Fantastic beer selection. Stopped by here for a beer on a Friday night in December during the Nights of Lights. Most every other place was packed that we tried to go to. This place was moderately crowded. We were able to grab a seat at the bar the bartenders were very attentive and the beer list was extensive. Was a nice spot to end the night and would definitely return next time we are in St. Augustine.

For beer lovers from connoisseur to enthusiast. 70 beers on tap plus wines and bottles. Plus they have some food which is great because beer always makes me hungry. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. This is the best place to enjoy a great beer (before 12:30am).

Great selection of beer on draft and more in bottles. Drink the Mead, you'll turn into a Viking.

    (5)
  • Sharon P.

This 'pub' is good for the beer and wine they have on tap. But when it comes to pub food, their advertisement is a lie. They do not have pub food. The service was poor and the baked brie they served us was burned. Will not return here.

  • Dave W.

Our favorite little watering hole in St Augustine. Not only do they have over 50 beers on tap - they took us in back to see the cooler. Not sure who asked the question and how it all happened. You can always count on meeting someone and striking up a conversation and the bartender(s) are personable and knowledgeable about the beers as well as the surrounding area. Last time we were here the bartender gave us a recommendation for dinner which proved to be terrific. We will be back again.

  • Jared S.

Best Reuben in St. Augustine and soooo many good beers to choose from. Great staff too.

    (5)
  • Tony Z.

Slowest service ever. Took 15 minutes to just take our drink order. Did not have all the ingredients to make a dish, came to tell us this almost 30 minutes after taking our order. The place was very slow and has no excuse for this poor poor service. I would never go back. Worthless trip looking for good food at a fair price.

Best beer selection in augie, great pretzels, always attentive staff, plenty of TVs to watch whatever game you want and all around comfortable atmosphere. This is always a must stop when we're in town. Love it!

Went here on a Saturday night to watch football on the recommendation of our Innkeeper. They have over 70 beers on tap (so our Innkeeper told us, and I believe him!). Some were seasonal. Tons of crafts and imports. They also have several TV's and plenty of seating. We met some locals at the bar who were so nice. Our bartender never let us get thirsty :). Prices were no higher than any typical bar. All in all we had a great night and will return here when we come back to St. Augustine.

  • Daniel G.

Great selection of craft beer! I was definitely impressed with the bartenders knowledge and spot on recommendations. I did not eat but my brother in law had a black bean burger and said it was delicious. Definitely stop in if you are looking for a good craft beer spot.

I'd heard of this place from friends in St. Augustine, so when I was down last week, I stopped in with some out-of-town visitors. Nice place, LOTS of taps, and a decent wine selection as well. It was a little loud for our purposes that evening, which was to catch up, but not unpleasantly so. There was another room off to the left of the entrance that might have been quieter, but finding 6 or 7 seats together was the goal. Parking was pretty terrible, as is the case for most businesses near the bayfront. This was compounded by it being Bike Week, and having half of the plaza parking spaces roped off for bikes. Prices were reasonable. I'll visit again next time I'm in the area.

  • Jessica P.

Many different beers on tap to choose from. For a random weekday it was full of locals. Wasn't much choices for food as far as bar food. Service was good.

    (3)
  • David F.

I like this place alot. It has many many beers available, both on tap and in a bottle. The menu for food is a limited one, but the vast # of microbrews available will have you forgetting what you had for dinner. The place fills up and is not too big, so grab a seat where you can. Overall, the service was good and it is noisy, but cool. Stop by when you are in St. Augustine.

Great local place in St. Augustine with friendly staff. Very cozy. Extensive wine and beer menu. Worth coming back a second time!

    (5)
  • Zamp S.

Horrible service. Took about 15 minutes just to give us our drinks. Also not having all the ingredients to make our food. Waitress told us that there was only one cook in the kitchen, I doubt it. There was probably 3 or 4 "chefs" in that kitchen. All we were asking for was 3 sammiches. Waitress also said that the "chef" was new and was alone for the first time. There is no excuse for any of this. There was barley anybody there! This restaurant will waste your money and time. So, please, save your life and don't go there.

  • No Longer Yelping B.

By far the best craft beer bar St Augustine has to offer. This place has everything I want, good beer, decent food if you get peckish and a friendly staff. It's in a cute little building that's probably been there since the Spanish arrived and it's close to St George and everything. I would say hit this one first, try out a few others and then end the night here.

  • Holden C.

Great bar, lots of great beers on tap. We had a great waitress who let us try a few expensive brews. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend it and we will definitely be going back. Selection is great, prices are decent (we didn't try any food).

    (4)
  • Andrea W.

Nice selection of microbrews and imports. I like that you can order an 8-oz pour and thereby try more beers. Cozy atmosphere.

  • Kim C.

Great local hangout with lots of different and interesting beers! I told the bartender what type of beer I usually drink, and let him pick 4 4 ounce pours for me (the paddle); all of his choices were awesome! Service was great. This was a pit stop on the way to dinner, but will definitely be back to try their food!

  • Elizabeth B.

I stopped into this place after this month's Art Walk; it was easy to get a seat. I did not have any of the beers because we really just wanted food at that point and, since everyone is only talking about the beer selection, I thought I would just say that the "Rising Sun" - tuna - sandwich is heavenly. No, it is not huge and I really don't remember the sides; this sandwich is one of the best I have ever had. Tuna sashimi with lettuce, toms, wasabi mayo, on focaccia. I would rather be satisfied with something great than stuffed with something mediocre, so try the food and enjoy it. I promise to try the beer next time.

I was reminded of how much I love beer when visited here the other night. They have Well's Banana Bread Beer on tap here!!!! Oh my hops! I used to drink this poolside all summer long and I had forgotten just how yummy it is- like a fresh baked loaf of banana bread (although not too sweet). But enough on that- this bar has like 50+ beers on tap and a ton of bottles too. And a solid wine selection. The bartender was very chill and laid-back. Atmosphere was good. A mixed crowd of college kids, adults, tourists, locals, etc. We learned that St. Augustine is a pretty dry city, but this place was a little Oasis from Soberville.

    (4)
  • Jenny L.

The selection of beers on tap was impressive, but JP Henley's is only good for the beer & wine. If you're hungry, don't even. We made the mistake of coming here hungry after a long drive from the airport. Ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, wasn't impressed. I ordered the Roast Beef & Pecan Salad, it was enormous and came on a paper plate with a plastic fork. The pecans and gorgonzola were nice but it wasn't a great experience. Husband ended up eating half of my salad because his sandwich was so small.

  • DonPaul N.

50 beers on tap. Yes. All of them awesome, all of them fresh. They serve food as well, but who cares. They have 50 BEERS ON TAP. The general feel is that of a sports bar. It is clean and bright and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the 50 BEERS ON TAP. If you love beer, you must visit here.

This is one of the few pubs that I think is worth the hunt for parking. The drink selection is very good. Proper international beers as well. I'm never wanting for something to eat. They have so much that I like there, which is refreshing considering most of the town is deep fried. They're good for groups, but you have to let them know how many you're expecting. They don't take reservations, but they can make certain allowances for the back room. It seems laid back, but trust that the front room is college student central on weekends. Loud, packed, busy and there will be an obnoxious drunk bounced out at some point. The price is right, so it's worth it.

On Thursday, December 27th 2012 - my girlfriend and I visited JP Henleys at about 9pm. The service was outstanding and the food was very good. We had an issue with a table of "younger" guests and the management and staff dealt with the issue both professionally and appropriately. We appreciated the service and and food. We will be back for sure.

  • Debbie D.

We actually like the physical location of Henley's and the beer selection, but.........their service is pitiful. We have been there on several occasions (usually Saturday night) and when there are only a few tables with customers, it takes about 10 minutes before a server graces us with their presence. Today, June 21, we arrived at 6p ET and waited 10 minutes and no server. We observed 2 servers who only had 3 tables with customers. We were at the seats in front of the windows. I went to bar to get our drinks. This has happened on about 4 occasions and when I shared this with the bartender that we were not served we do not receive an "I'm sorry" or anything. When server came over (after we were halfway through our drinks), again no apologies given. I think Henley's banks on tourists and forgets that locals like to frequent their establishment and would like to be acknowledged/served timely. The owner needs to determine what the issue is with his wait staff and address it before he loses the local customer base. Ok, I feel better now but sad that bars in the St Augustiine historic district do not care about customer service.

What a beer selection! 50 on tap! And not filled with tourists. It was one of the only spots we went to while vacationing in St. Augustine that wasn't overwhelmingly crowded and it is one of my favorite bars ever because of all the different beers. I had one called the Hopsecutioner. Such a great name and delicious! The beers are a bit expensive but for what you're getting I'd say it's worth it. Although I haven't eaten here, the atmosphere is so nice I can't recommend it enough. Drink and be merry! =)

  • Lane R.

For a sports bar this place has great food. Sandwich was delicious and the french onion soup was great, not to thick or salty, like I have experienced many times in the past. The beer selection is undoubtedly the largest in the area with over 70 beers on draft and they offer different sized pours. They have plenty of TVs for watching a game. Service could have been a tad better, but good food, good drinks and a clean atmospher and you can't really complain.

    (4)
  • Brennan H.

Preeeeeeeeeeetentious. Henley's does serve up tasty, refreshing food, and they do have a great selection of beer and wine. For your money, though, you can get just as good (and often better) food at a number of restaurants within a five-minute walk, at usually a few dollars less than the price of Henley's good, if rather simple, food. The main draw of Henley's, of course, are the beers and wines. And that's about the only reason I'd choose the place over others in the area. If you want to sample some stuff, great. Go nuts. But it's not a place to go for a regular night out. Henley's isn't really what I'd call a "bar". It caters better, atmospherically, to business luncheons than to friends having a good time. The staff is rather selective in who they choose to give good service to--I've been into the place in shorts and a T-shirt and been all but ignored, and I've been into the place in a collar and tie and been made very comfortable. Whatever. The management also gives off a "too good to deal with you" vibe. My only genuinely welcoming and helpful experience with the Henley's staff was with a girl who was on her first day working there. I guess she hadn't earned her fat head yet. Essentially it's expensive food and alchohol, served by an off-putting staff, for people with extra cash in their pocket to blow. Is the product good? Yeah. But there's just no reason to favor Henley's over other places in town.

This place is flat-out AWESOME!!! This is one of the reasons why I love using Yelp and trust the other Yelpers out there... Was looking for a new bar in St. Augustine, so I hopped on Yelp, and JP Henley's was at the top of the list... and it's there for a good reason. Like anything else in downtown St. Augustine, parking can be a hassle. Depends on what time and what night you get down there, but expect a bit of a drive to find a spot. Once you get inside, though, it's well, WELL worth it. There is a pretty good size bar with plenty of seats available, and also about 12 tables which seat 4 a piece. There's also some bar stools seated in front of a few windows looking out towards the Bridge of Lions, and a dining area with another 20 tables or so. Depending on when you go, you'll probably get a seat, but if you show up around 9 pm on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to stand, that place can get PACKED! There's quite a few flatscreen TV's spread out throughout the bar, all tuned in to different sporting events. All you have to do is ask the bartender, and they will change the channel to what you want to watch. The food is amazing, just not much of a selection... It's pretty much just sandwiches and some appetizers, however they are f'n DELICIOUS. I had the reuben, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The crust of the bread was crunchy, the rest of the bread warm and soft, and the remainder cooked perfectly. Date had a ham and bleu cheese sub... spectacular! If you're looking for entrees, you'd best look somewhere else, but if you want some great food you can have with an ice cold beer, you'll find something, and you'll like it. The beer and wine selection is just flat-out amazing. All I require for a five star bar is delicious Samuel Adams draft... Check. They have about 200 different bottled beers, domestic and foreign, and it's all organized on the menu based on country, so if you know what you're looking for, it should be easy to find. There's also about 50 different draft beers, and depending on what you order, come in different sizes. Want to try something new? Ask the bartender... tell them what you like, and they can recommend something new that you will most likely enjoy. There was a bunch of different wines as well, but I save that for the upscale folks. Overall, I LOVE this place. The food was great, the beer was fantastic, and the service was spot-on. I've been in a few times, and have left completely 100% satisfied every time. I especially recommend going on a weeknight to relax with friends, have a few beers and a great sandwich. But anytime you're looking for a great time downtown, JP Henley's can't be beat.

My fiancée and I have eaten there twice now and could justify them being slightly overpriced if the food was phenomenal, but it's not. I ordered beer soup which sounded fantastic! The waitress also said the soup was selling like mad and was very popular, but when it came out it warm (not hot) and nothing to write home about. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms because they sounded great, but the portion size was a little disappointing. We went when it wasn't happy hour and ordered the beer that they had on special which was $2.00 a draft. We'll go back for their beer on special but we'll eat somewhere more satisfying before hand. They don't have outdoor seating, but do have tables close to big windows

I love JP Henley's. It's probably one of my favorite bars, and I don't really go to bars too much. They have a great variety of beers both on tap and in the bottle. They also have a good selection of wines. They of course do have a full bar and serve liquor, but personally, I go for the beer. They have $5 beer samplers where you can try four different beers each in its own 5 oz glass, which is great when looking to try new things, and they also have some wine samplers as well. JP Henley's can get crowded at times, especially around holidays. I went in to try and get a drink on Halloween and it was pretty much pointless. But if you get there before 8 or 9 on the average Friday or Saturday, you'll have better luck getting a seat. This is a highly recommended drinking spot for me.

An upscale wine and beer pub which also serves food which I can not comment on since I have never eaten there. I can comment on their great selection of beers - Around 50 different draft beers and around 120 bottled beers you are sure to find something you like. If you are not sure or can not make up your mind they sell a sampler which comes with four smaller size glasses. They also have flat screen TVs for your sports watching pleasure.

This place has an awesome selection of beer and wine, probably the best selection in St. Augustine. However they do not have any liquor. Sometimes it can get a little loud because of the small size of the bar area combined with the tile floors, but it is a bar and it is in a good location downtown. Worth a visit.

Super-nice staff and great beer selection on tap. Also v good "by the glass" selections. The goodbye handshake ensured my speedy return...maybe even tonight!

Awesome beer selection! Try the Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan! They also have some great sandwiches. Not a big menu but good for a lunch or light dinner

Glad we found this place! A neat spot around the corner from the beaten path. Bartender was great, beer selection was tight. A winning combination! Didn't try the food, but for a quick pop-in for a drink or two, good stuff.

Great place to get a beer (over 50 on tap) and upscale bar food.

This place was great!! We had the chicken cor don bleu which was great. They have over 50 beers on tap to choose from. Tried the oatmeal beer (which was bitter. I didn't expect oatmeal beer to be bitter) and the chocolate beer which was great either. But the food was good and the atmosphere was great!

$2.00 draft beers (and they are good beers too) on Thursday nights. Nice. Place is very nice until a crowd gets going because then it gets very loud. It gets very loud indeed.

BEER NIRVANA!! I stumbled upon this place yesterday and what a fabulous pub! It had so many beers to choose from that I didn't know where to start, maybe they just had all my favorites. My friend was also stunned by the selection of beers. The bar staff was wonderful and the atmosphere was great, too. The only reason I didn't give this a five star rating is because the bar area was very, very small and I didn't sample the food. This place is a 'must stop' when visiting St. Augustine.

The reason that I did not give this place a 5 out of 5 is because the food is "light-weight". Not much food for the money. Otherwise, the beer selection is outstanding. What a great find in St. Augustine. Right aroud the corner from A1A ,down from theCuban place. Go and check out the beer menu. They have wine also.,

Henley's is a great place to grab a beer, watch a game, and hang out with friends. The beer selection is wonderful and includes a large selection of both draft and bottled beers. They have a decent selection of wine as well. The staff is fantastic and very friendly. As a previous poster mentioned, the menu is fairly lightweight, so this is not necessarily the place to go for a big meal. However, if you get hungry while throwing back a few beers, they have a nice light menu and good food.

This place has about every type of beer you can imagine, including lambic beer on tap and in the bottle. They also serve combination drinks, like the "chocolate covered raspberry," which is a mixture of a chocolate stout and raspberry lambic beer. The atmosphere is great. There is a bar in the main room with several tall bistro tables for sitting near one of the many flat screen televisions. There is also a cozy room in the back with tables and comfortable upholstered chairs that allows gathering in a more intimate setting. The only thing that could use improvement is the food, which is decent but not stand out. There are several simple appetizers and hot and cold sandwiches that are served with a pickle and potato salad, pasta salad, fruit salad, or chips. We had the baked brie, but the cheese was only slightly warm, not melted. We also had the chevre crostini, which was nothing special. The sandwiches are original, but portion sizes are small while the prices are average. All in all, a great place to have a few beers before or after lunching somewhere else.

Not being a sports fan, I initially passed this place by because of all the big flat screens playing football and other sports related shows. Now that I finally overlooked that, (well not overlooked because there is one from every view, but at least they are muted) I see it for what it really is: an awesome neighborhood pub. I'm a pretty picky beer drinker, only the darkest of dark for me, so my recent move to the South has been a dismal bar experience. JP's has fifty beers on tap. Fifty! And I have a handful of darks to choose from, not just Guinness. And millions of bottles. Plus they have the same number of wines. All the staff are very friendly, and great at their jobs. They make it a pleasure every time I've been there. The food looks good, I've never had it myself though. It is downtown so it gets tourists, but I think locals of all ages make up the core of it's business. Since it is on the tourist circuit, you don't get the "everyone knows everyone and who are you" attitude, which is very welcoming. It is lively enough to be fun, but not so rowdy it is annoying and you can't hear your friends. Has a small smoking deck in the back, but that is the only outdoor space. Which is my only complaint about the place, it is Florida so you can sit comfortably outside all year around so I wish they had more outdoor seating. Go grab a pint! See you there!
