25 cent wings after ten... can't beat that. They are bone-in and amazing. This is an older crowd bar, not recommended for the young unless you're out with your parents (my dad loves this bar). The food is decent, I've had the quesadilla and the specials (and the wings or course!) Beers are very well priced. They have Spatan on draft which is rare and amazing to me. Live music outside, and karaoke on certain nights. Check the website calendar to see the days. Lots of parking. It's a little hard to find if you don't know about it. It's tucked away under near the Pasadena draw bridge.

Great food. Fantastic prices. Even better service. Give it a try! Kind of tucked away, so don't miss it!

Had dinner at Blue Parrot 2/28, and thought the food was terrible. My dining companions chix wings arrived med rare and were sent back for further cooking. My 'grouper' sandwich was obviously snapper, but was seasoned well, so I did not send it back. The only reason I gave BP more than 1 star was the band. We really enjoyed the tunes from Dukes of Juke. I would return, but only order from the bar. Beware that they will charge you $12 minimum while you are there during entertainment!

What can I say - Don't go! We went to the Blue Parrot to see a friends band. They are "OTR" On the Rocks. We arrived to find out that the owner double booked with another band called On the Rocks. That could have been a mistake except he did the same thing to a band the week before. There were 14 people there to see the band, and eat and drink! The worst part is he did not pay the double booked band anything! We hear he is a elderly man that does not seem to be able to manage the business any longer! We decided not to stay and eat because on a table close to the bar was a cats dish with food and a case of Fancy Feast! sorry - nothing against cats but not in a restaurant! We won't go back! Too many really good places in the area!

Just tried The Blue Parrot for the first time with my buddy Jimmy. They have the greatest buffalo wings around Delish. I had a catfish pohboy. Which was fantastic as well. We were taken care of by Dyan and she was wonderful. Can't wait to come back

The pea soup was really good. Didnt have the salmon i wanted, or the mahi mahi i settled for, because they were out. So i got grouper blackened. It sucked. But was better than not edible. The you peel'ems were great and even better for the price. Sweet potato fries were not crispy like they should be, but the were flavorful.

Hard to give a great review when you come in and sit at the bar and don't even get acknowledged until about 10 minutes in once the bartender takes care of all the Jurassic park locals. Crappy service but strong pours and the conch fritters weren't bad.

Great food, friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Can't beat that. Live music sometimes as well.

The Blue Parrot is an odd bird as far as restaurants and bars go. It's busiest night is monday, the food gets better the later the evening gets, and the patrons are certainly not the glamorous sort. But this is a bar where the bartenders know your name and usual drink and the regulars are always having a good time. For me, this place is a perfect combination of beachy dive bar and friendly but only in the evenings. Every single time i have gone during the day i have been disappointed. But at night everything is great. First after 9 at night the wings become $2.50 for 10 wings. And the wings are GREAT. I like the buffalo. Then i get rum and cokes for about $2.50 each. Put those together in a comfortable atmosphere and you get a winning combination. Plus check out their live bands. Monday they have a full-size swing band. When is the last time you saw one of those? All thing considered i love the place. I wish they would get better daytime service but since i never go during the day it doesn't matter. It is just a great nighttime dive bar.

Went to the Blue Parrot with the parents for a late lunch - mom's suggestion; it was her favorite until this time. AC was out that day - maybe not the owners fault, but you'd think that wouldn't effect the temperature of the draft beer, which was warm as it arrived to the table. The bartender (possibly the owner/manager) came to the table and swiped the lunch menus up immediately. When I asked him if we could order lunch he said, "you have four minutes". (I was so HOT I didn't realize it was 3:56pm!!) The food was mediocre, at best - the server was friendly but slow. They were out of my mom's favorite dish and my salad was brought WITH the meal (pointless!). I thought this place used to be good?! Obviously, it's gone downhill. Won't be going back!!

I work almost right across the street from this place and have been here countless (well, dozens) of times. It's worth 3 stars, even though I choose not to visit anymore. We used to do company lunches over at the Parrot until people complained too much (yes, about FREE lunches). The whole feel of the place is greasy and the food is nothing to write home about. If you sit on the patio, just take a look at the condiment holders...it would take a trained crew of archeologists several years to find the original labels on some of the items. It's decent beach bar grub, that's about it. The final straw for me was when we were all eating there one day, and the owner came to the table to drop off some items while covered (soaked) in sweat. He then walked to his car (20 feet away) and stripped off his shirt...It happened in horrifying 'slo-mo-cam-style'. It slid up and off his corpulent form like the casing on a sausage, revealing a pallid, matted soaking-wet grey-haired torso which had not seen the sun in ages. A cascade-shower of yellowy sweat drops fountained into the air when it came off, and he even mopped up and about his body with the t-shirt before putting on a fresh one from his stash in the trunk. It was the most unappetizing thing I have ever seen. I just shook my head as I realized the Blue Parrot had jumped the shark in that exact moment. Quirky odd note: The marquee sign outside says "Blue Parrott" (with two t's) but the menu and all other info states "Blue Parrot". From what I can tell, the sign was done wrong and nobody noticed, or cared. Just like consistent quality food and attention to service. A plus: They do have great live music here during snowbird season and it gets packed at those times.

Fun, great staff and good bar food! It is a fun restaurant where the staff learns your name. It is not a fancy place or a elegant restaurant. Good fish, great beers! Music is good and brings in a crowd. Introduce yourself to the staff!

The Blue Parrot is an older crowd type hole in the wall bar. They offer live music and it has the "locals only" feel until you sit down and place an order. You are taken in like one of their own and have a great view of the water. The Blue Parrot is easily passed up and should be visited by anyone passing through.

Blue Parrot is a wonderful diamond in the rough. It is practically tucked under the Corey Causeway in Downtown St. Pete Beach. I have been pretty regularly going here for the past 3 years and consistently they have been awesome. Great food and great service. Generally I go here at once the discount late menu starts at the bar. (I think 9 pm). For under 10 dollars per person I can get a very good meal and a couple beers. The wings are fantastic, but that being the case, they are sometimes out. But just about everything on the late menu is excellent and the staff is very knowledgable.

Every time I make a trip out to St. Pete to visit my dad, we always some how end up at the blue parrot. Its one of those bars where everyone seems to know everyone, I mean there are plaques on the bar where deceased customers regularly sat! The best time to come is during the winter months when they have the outside area open and karaoke going . . . its a trip watching that show, especially after some of the older crowd gets a few in them. The staff is always extremely friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. I have also been able to experience that late night menu Ross speaks of and while the food is good, be prepared for the battle you may wage the next day with your stomach. While I wouldn't recommend the blue parrot as a place to spend your entire night, if you can somehow manage to find your way down to the bar from the causeway, this is a great place to hang out and meet some crazy interesting people any day of the week.

This place has a pretty decent menu off which I've only had the conch fritters, and they were delicious. They definitely stray from the usual fritter fare, a lot more conch and some veggies, and less breading. Served up with a homemade honey mustard, I wanted to stray away from and asked for another homemade sauce featured on the menu, but alas, they were right and the honey mustard was a superior compliment. A small portion. They feature a nice variety of items ( pastas, fresh fish, sandwiches...) which I'm sure is something akin to a damn good home cooked meal... but What I go here for is the WINGS. After 9 pm this place has 25cent wings! And they are awesome! They are rather large not the dinky ones some bars feature for the cheap price. You have a choice of two flavors. Hot or Blackened, and you order in increments of ten. Try both! The hot is not spicy by any means, but then again I do have a penchant for all things spicy. I even asked for them to be extra hot but it always comes out the same. But this is nothing to boo hoo about because the wing sauce is damn good. So if you enjoy the flavor of wing sauce as equally if you like the spicy factor then you can definiately appreciate. Full liquor bar, a few draft beers, nothing fancy. This place is a locals best kept secret. On thursdays they have karaoke and some nights a live band on their back porch seating area. A little awkward to find but who cares?

We are fortunate to live near the beach with excellent venues for music entertainment. While the Blue Parrot has a nice outdoor area to listen to music the food is POOR and the service LOUSY. We usually over looked this and would still periodically frequent the establishment. Today we had run errands and ate while on the way home decided to stop off and have a drink while listening to the musical entertainment. We were approached by a server stating we would be charged 12.00 per person if not ordering food as we were right in the middle of her service area. Instead of approaching us stating would we mind moving toward the back near the bar area she was so rude I asked my family to leave. SInce we also own our own business I felt it only fair to advise the owner/manager what had occurred. We understand it is peak season in Florida; however; as a Florida local we sustain the businesses during nonpeak season. He informed me that he owned a business an thus could not afford to just serve us drinks during the peak time. We have PLENTY of businesses in St. Petersburg that value our business and have great food and service. No need to frequent an establishment that has poor service and poor food where customers are not appreciated. Cynthia
