Finally! A good Chinese restaurant in Florida! Even the Fried noodles are good! The sweet-and-sour chicken is actual chicken breast breaded and fried not balls of dough. Haven't had Chinese food like this since we lived in New Jersey

I finally found a good Chinese restaurant in Sarasota! It was neat and clean. I had the Hunan Beef Combo plate. The Hunan beef was very good. The fried rice was good. I didn't care much for the spring roll. They give you free Chinese tea, which a lot of the other places charge you for it. The waitress was very attentive. I did not have to ask her to refill my water! I will be back.

Best I have had in years!! Hot n sour soup is incredible with deep rich flavorful broth and perfect balance of hot and sour...could take a bath in this stuff!! Scallop, shrimp with mushrooms and asparagus is off the charts. Also had Hunan chicken and the brown sauce is perfect and the chicken perfectly velvet as it should be. I really can't say enough about this strip mall gem other than eat here often!!!

Under previous owners this was called Maks. It had been rather pathetic. The new owners have brought some life to the menu and kitchen and the South side of Sarasota finally has a good Chinese restaurant. The menu is a mix of traditional comfort foods like egg foo young and roast pork with Chinese veggies as well as a page of numerous dishes the friendly owner calls their New York menu. We have been there several times and have always enjoyed. The Shrimp and Scallops in black bean sauce and the XO beef are two excellent choices. As is the house special soup. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient and handled an unexpectedly large Christmas day crowd well. Next time we will try one of the salt and pepper dishes. It will be interesting to compare it with that of Yummy House.

A very pleasant surprise compared to the old restaurant at that location. Comparable to the Yummi house. Broad menu with more modern Hong Kong style. It will be a regular for us.

Great little family owned place, nothing fancy, just good Chinese food made by people who actually speak Chinese. Reasonable prices and great service. A fantastic stop for lunch or to grab good quality takeout.

The staff was very polite and helpful. The take out order was also packing diligently in a box to prevent spilling. The food did take longer than they had estimated and the breading on the chicken was too soft for my taste. I would possibly return.

Excellent. Fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared. Moo shu vegetable and grouper in clay pot are particularly good.

Finally, an authentic Chinese restaurant in the Sarasota area. Had lunch there today and we were impressed by the fresh vegetables and excellent flavor. Very generous portions. Fast friendly service.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
