Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Great place, people and food. The sandwiches are so fresh and yummy. This is one well-stocked Italian Deli. I love Piccolo's!!

If I could dream in Italian it would be about meatball grinders, stuffed red peppers, homemade sausage with broccoli rabe and garlic and a hunk of aged Parmesan cut from the wheel with real bread, like we could get in Jersey. Well, I can't speak the language but I sure know good Italian delis and this one is top notch. A family business now in its third and largest location, Bringing Piccolos home is like bringing home someone's Italian Grandma to cook Sunday supper. Antipasto salads and sunset on the beach with a side of eggplant parm is a must if you live in Sarasota.

Ran in tonight for some sauce, bread and cheese and parsley sausage!! Their sauce is so good! The staff is really nice and very helpful! Can't wait to try more stuff!

Yes yes yes! This place is amazing. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. The service is speedy. The food is insane! They bake their own bread there, so just based on that alone, you know it's a legit place. I've been here several times and I've enjoyed the Caprese sandwich immensely. It's fresh bread, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, with a little bit of their house made balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It's outstanding! I've also gotten the same sandwich but with prosciutto. It was great, but I prefer the incredibly fresh taste of the Caprese. You have to try this place! It's such a wonderful and unique hidden gem!

I've had a couple of the best sandwiches of my life here and look forward to having many more. Madonna Mia! Jersey's got nothing on this place.

My favorite to-go lunch spot. Killer sandwiches (and tons of unique veg-friendly options). They are huge portions, so perfect to share (or for leftovers). Everyone I take there loves it, too!

If was just by chance we went in for lunch and wow....it was wonderful! Authentic Italian food. Great selection of sandwiches and daily lunch plate specials. Check out the fresh olives, marinated artichokes and eggplant. Fresh homemade bread sold daily. It's so good!

This place is the bomb. They just moved onto a bigger location. The sandwiches are the best. Fresh mozzarella , capris sandwich , pizza of the day. They slice there deli meats daily and the bread is amazing. I go here about once a week and have never had a bad experience with the food. They usually have a line but it's worth the wait. A must try in sarasota. Oh yea I almost forgot about the huge delicious salads. Anti pasto is my favorite but the house is great as well.

Outstanding place for lunch late afternoon anything you want don't go in there planning to eat anything particular because you're going to be swayed into something that's even better than you ever imagined outstanding

I can't judge what kind of deli it is, but I went looking for Italian meats, cheeses, etc for an antipasto platter. I could have saved myself the trip because they carry Boars Head which I could get at Publix. I did get a good provolone, but they had very little else. I had to stop at Fresh a Market to get a few things to fill out my platter. A real disappointment. It shouldn't be called a Market.
