Stopped in here while walking on Main St. My girlfriend and I split the $5.99 lunch combo (2 slices and a drink) as a mid afternoon snack. The crust was a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect crust for me! If we lived in the area, this would be our usual pizza place!

Really good New York style pizza (at least a whole heck of a lot better than you can get at my home in Arkansas!) Paid $6.41 with tax for 2 giant slices of cheese and a diet coke. Hope to go back and try something else on the menu someday.

Fine pizza for a night of drinking. A little greasy, the crust was bland and the toppings were not particularly special. And for the price, at about $3 a slice, I will just head somewhere else next time.

I keep coming back to one of my favorite maxims: "It's pizza....how can you go wrong?" Bread, cheese, sauce; it's always at least GOOD in it's many incarnations. Today's pizza was just uninspired, as were the garlic knots. In fact, most everything we saw coming out of the oven (save for a pretty good looking hot sub) looked dull and uninspiring. Too much (bland) sauce, rubbery bread, congealing cheese. Still.....it's pizza! You just know it's not a good sign when you drive away from downtown Sarasota, seeing 15 other restaurants and you say "Oh, we could've eaten THERE instead". (Insert big sigh here.) Frankly, I'm being somewhat generous with two stars as the place was quite dirty--we finally saw one of the guys cleaning off the tables but the rag he used was absolutely filthy. And there's really no excuse for long, dark, curly hairs surrounding the base and lid of the ladies toilet.....ugh.

Ordered a turkey sub, we asked to have the bun toasted and the cook acted upset about it. When we finally received the turkey sub the bread had unidentifiable black spots throughout it. We were afraid to ask what it was so we split my decent tasting sausage and pepper sandwich and spilt.

We had never rrr had a pepperbon pizza and scout was the man who said have the pizza! Wow wat a greight guy.

Horrible portions! Just ordered 2 subs, one itailian that had one piece of ham, one piece of capicola and 2 pepperonis per side. One Tuna sub with 4 tablespoons of tuna on it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???????? $20.00??? This after tipping the guy which I never would have done if I knew they were this small. The bread was 2" in diameter too. What a joke! Advice, do not order from this place.

Pizza wasn't anything special but the service was great! Really kind guy at the register helped us, and with jokes and a smile. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the tables were clean. We ordered a cheese pizza, which was a standard greasy cheese pizza, but met our needs. I ordered a chicken salad, which was also pretty standard for a pizza place. Some iceburg lettuce, little toppings, and some chicken. Nothing to wow us, but would come back if it was late at night and we needed a quick decent bite to eat at a decent price!

Consistently good pizza, calzones, big portions. They usually have lunchtime specials and is a "cheap-eats" place for the Downtown area.

This pizza place was pretty good. We were able to order a couple slices individually plus had some pasta and sodas. To clear things up, they have thin and thick crust pizza, Sicilian style is the thick one. The pizza was very good and the pasta was very good. It is standard italian fare you would expect in a casual pizza/pasta place. We really enjoyed our meal.

They are getting 4 stars mostly for their huge calzones which I think are delicious. Their pizza is good too, similar to NY pizza which is hard to find in FL. For some reason you get a lot of Domino style pizza here which is fine if you like that. I always think I will buy the calzone and eat half and save the rest for later because they are that big. Lately that has not been the case since I love them so much; and they are really fattening. I now only get it if a friend is involved. No, they are not Italian (which I am) to answer the other reviewer. Which only makes them more intriguing to me since their pizza is pretty good. They are always nice as well.

I have been eating Patellini's on a weekly basis for about three month. I have had the cheese pizza, the Stromboli, and a few of the sandwiches as well. Last week, I ordered two pieces of cheese and a Stromboli, which came out to only $14! For NY style pizza of this quality and large portion size, combined with a giant calzone-shaped Stromboli, the price was amazing. The pizza is thin and always arrives hot and looks fresh. Their menu is comprehensive for an Italian place, but I have not had the opportunity to venture away from the pizza, stromboli, or sandwiches. I will try the pasta dishes at some point because based on what I know so far about Patellini's, I believe the sauce for their entrees will be homemade and delicious. The sandwiches on the menu are full of meat and there are many options. For a pizza joint, Patellini's meets the expectations that one would have for a pizza place on Main Street. While Rico's pizza to me is delicious NY style pizza as well, Patellini's sauce and cheese is a little more tasty, and to get two huge slices and a giant Stromboli for $14 delivery is amazing. They are also open late on weekends to provide pizza for hungry folks leaving the bars and clubs downtown.

Is this place owned by indians?? Your last name cant be Patel all of a sudden you add a -Lini's to the end of it and establish some uber italian pizza credibility.. I'm sorry I have to call a spade a spade. The pizza is decent to good. The service is fair to poor.

(update: patellini's relocated across the street) Best place ever! Pizza is perfect... but my crown jewel there is the turkey sub. If you want to taste the best sub in the world... order the turkey sub! I used to work around that area and when I first tried that sub, I never missed a day with it. Now that I no longer work there... I honestly dream about that sub... I tried many times re-creating it at home but its not the same! I am addicted to that turkey sub... Pizza is really good as well. Large slices (one slice should fill you up) Perfect amount of sauce and good variety of toppings. (also try the meatball sub... good as well) Hope this helps!

My teenagers would give a rating between 4 and 5. The pizza was good~I had the white sauce slice. It's located right on Main Street, which is darling. Parking is a little bit tricky~we paid $4 to park in a lot and elected to walk and enjoy the beautiful weather and the cute storefronts. The employees are friendly but I did over-tip because I assumed they would be serving our food to us but they actually call out your order and walk to the counter to pick it up yourself. The silverware is plastic which detracts from the experience and the clean and contemporary (but cozy) ambiance. All in all, I'm glad I went but will return only for a slice of pizza to go.

Nice decor, lot's of tv's to watch, which is nice when multiple sporting events are on, but the Pizza is just ok, too thick for my liking, kinda saucy. IL Panificio down the block has much better pizza.

This place is horrible, overpriced, and not good. The owners were extremely rude when I ate there. It seemed like they were ungrateful for our patronage, sorry folks here is how a resturant works, a customer comes in and gives you money for your food and service, you need to treat them respectfully so they return and don't yelp about it later... The food in general was sub par, your basic cardboard and ketchup. There are a lot better places in Sarasota for pizza, no need to ever return here.

Great pizza. A little pricey though. Having been to New York, Chicago, and just about everywhere in between I consider myself somewhat of a self proclaimed expert. The sauce is great, the cheese is great, the whole pizza is great. We ordered a large peperoni and a large onion/sausage/mushroom and both were outstanding. If you find yourself on vacation in the Sarasota area and don't want to go out this place will deliver. We had our delivered to the long boat key resort. Enjoy.

Patellinis pizza is one of the best pizza establishments in Sarasota, especially in the downtown area. The service is fantastic and all of the employees greet you with a smile and are very friendly. The outdoor seating area is a great place to chill with friends while enjoying a slice and a beer. The newly remolded interior of the restaurant gives the place a classy feel now as well. This has become my new favorite place to grab some grub after a night out in downtown Sarasota. keep it up Patellinis!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
