A group of 11 food lovers tried Lolita Tartine last night for the first time all around. It was excellent and the perfect spot for the first meeting of our new "food club." :) Daniel was prompt and gracious, with an excellent memory (remembered our names) and a keen attention to detail (he heard cutlery drop and immediately rushed over to ask "Fork or knife?"). The Savor Sarasota dinner special was in effect so for $29 you received 3 courses. I chose the Onion soup (rich, deep flavor), the Beef Burgundy (great flavor and I liked that the pasta was served on the side), and the Profiteroles (unexpectedly served with ice cream so that was a win). Personally I also sampled the Tartine Renoir and Gauguin (perfect textures and flavors), the Mussels (very good), the Lamb (4 diners chose this entree- a big hit), the Salmon, and the Pistachio Creme Brulee (unique and memorable). Everyone was pleased with their wine selections as well. Overall a fabulous dinner and experience. We will all be back!

3 1/2 stars. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the streetside tables. Our waiter was pleasant, although a little slow and kept forgetting to bring our drinks after several trips back and forth from our table to the kitchen. The open faced sandwiches are good and the home fries are also good. It's not my first choice to run back there, but, I will try them again.

Best French Onion soup & Escagot in town! I chose French onion soup as my first course from Savor Sarasota menu( $29 for 3 courses). It was flavorful with sweetness from onion and not salty. Tuna dish was good but not my favorite. My partner loved his Lamp Targine, deep flavors. Desserts were heavenly, served cold, not too sweet yet so tasty. I'd say if you just come here for the best dessert, it will be perfect as well. Lovely place and friendly waiter. Certainly return.

Love this place. I came here looking for a midday quiet place to have a snack and do some work. The internet was easy to use, the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The space is large, but cozy and elegant. The old industrial feel of the building was maintained alongside the simple, modern red and white French influenced decor. I ordered a pain o'chocolate and it was as good as the best boulangeries in Paris. The espresso was also quite good and was made on a manual machine and not one of those digital things that produce inferior coffee. I hear this place gets busy at lunch so I wouldn't recommend coming for work during their peak hours.

*review is based on horrible service only - we did not wait around for food* Tried to eat at Lolita Tartine tonight, but... After waiting 7-10 minutes for someone to come to our table and greet us, pour water, take a drink order, etc., I tried to summon a waiter. He nodded while passing us but continued doing other stuff. When I asked if someone could take our order, the waiter recited a parable along the lines of "he who waits crosses the ocean" saying we should have more patience because they are very busy. There were 4-5 other tables and two servers on the floor, not sure what he was referring to. I asked to speak to the manager - who turned out to be the crappy waiter who couldn't care less- then walked out for a delicious dinner and excellent service at Libby's. Maybe Lolita's food is so amazing that they deserve their haughty, condescending attitude, but it's the worst experience I've had in a restaurant in a long time.

Had been meaning to come here for a couple of months at least. Glad we did. The food was exquisitely rich. As part of the Savor Sarasota promotion, we both got the fixed menu items. I had blue cheese crème brûlée as an appetizer. It was savory with a hint of sweetness from the caramelized sugar on top. The serving size was reasonable but it was so rich we could've easily have split it. For the main course I had beef Burgundy, and for dessert a warm apple tart with caramel sauce and a bit of vanilla ice cream. My partner had a warm asparagus salad with bacon and pinenuts. His main course was beef tangine with prunes and figs, it was decadent and for dessert a chocolate fondant. The menu items were quite varied and when we go back I'm going to have the beef tangine myself. The food at Lolita Tartine is meant to be savored with good glass of wine and good company. I have been recommending it to all my coworkers and friends.

Hands down BEST SERVICE EVER! The staff, especially Robert, made an expectional impression. He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. The French Toast is delish if you are dining there for breakfast. I would recommend this place for sure. If you are looking to enhance your experience, stop by and grab a bite. It won't be disappointing.

The mixture of very polite service, great atmosphere and excellently prepared food makes for a five star experience. Definitely a gem

Coffee and pastries are very nice. The breakfasts were not great and my husband and I ended up eating separately due to poor kitchen timing with frozen potatoes as an excuse. My fruit side was mostly canned pineapple. The atmosphere is cool and certainly quieter than C'est la Vie. If we come back, we'll stick with the basket of croissants, which were the highlight. Staff was apologetic and gave a little treat to take home for the inconvenience.

Memorable salads and sandwiches made with fresh and top notch ingredients. Nice spot to enjoy a glass of wine and the atmosphere.

I love this place. Every time I visit Sarasota I make it one of my first meals. The menu has a variety of creative salads and sandwiches. I especially like the tuna crudo salad. The lettuce and vegetables are very fresh. The interior is bright and fun. And the waiters are always so helpful and attentive. The breakfast menu is more limited but all choices are really, really good. One of my favorites in Sarasota.

My mom and I wanted to try a new place and read about this place on Savor Sarasota. We were really disappointed in this choice. We tried the French onion soup and after a few bites just let it sit there, onions weren't cooked enough, broth was a bit bland, and the cheese was not a good choice. Then we had the burgundy beef. Inedible! The pasta was so over cooked, beef dry, and flavor would probably be similar to dog food. No where near a beef bourguignon which is what we were hoping for. We immediately informed the server (no management around) and he argued with us. He was so defensive and insulted that we didn't like it that we felt too uncomfortable to stay. We asked for the check and passed on dessert after he told us he would eat our dessert if we didn't like it! The worst part was getting evil looks from the kitchen since they had a direct view to the dining room. Not worth visiting!

We were a party of six. We got off to a good start with an excellent onion soup and a spectacular savory creme brulee the clear favorites. Service was attentive and professional, the decor funky and contemporary. Two entrees stood out, the lamb tangine and the broiled scallops. However the big lie was the answer to my question "Is the tuna crimson colored sushi quality or the gassed pink tuna sold in most supermarkets?" Assured it was the crimson, sushi quality, my wife was not pleased when it turned out to be the inferior tuna that she would never order. I have two suggestions for Lolita Tartine. 1. Never lie to a customer about the ingredients. 2. Never serve any tuna that is gassed for coloration.

After trying to get into a couple restaurants on main street we stopped into c'est LA vie. The staff politely told us they were closed. Robert referred us to an "excellent french restaurant that we will be so happy we tried." Of course after we agreed and he called to ensure space, he told us he works there, lol. He was so nice we figured it didnt matter and we'd try it. Sooo glad we did. Such an amazing place. We had no idea you could have a savory creme brulee as an appetizer (which we did). Main courses were scallops and filet, both excellent. Plus, although I was finished, the waitress did not take my plate as my husband was still eating. That's a sure sign of excellent training. Loved, loved this restaurant. A definite must.

Five star for the cream of mushroom soup, the bread, the wait staff and the palmier. Salad was good although my chicken was overcooked. Hubby loved his pear and Brie tartine. Lunch partner loved her duck salad.

Had a great dinner at Lolita Tartine this evening. We like to try new restaurants during Savor Sarasota, and took advantage of the three course offerings and thought each appetizer, entree and dessert was excellent! They also offer moderately priced wine selections. Among the best meals we have had at many restaurants over the past several years of Savor Sarasota outings. Lolita Tartine is a French restaurant in the Rosemary district of Sarasota, with ample parking next to the restaurant. Try it out!

Came here for my husband's b-day. As big fans of C'est La Vie, we had high hopes. We were not disappointed! Although the place was empty for dinner, we enjoyed our private party. We enjoyed Champagne and escargot and sea scallops accompanied by an amazing seafood risotto. Truly, I have never eaten better risotto. We split creme brulee and enjoyed every bite. Our waiter was outstanding and we never felt rushed, even though we lingered past closing time. So wish we lived in Sarasota so we could come much more often!

I had the Salad Scandanavian and the homemade dressing was delicious. The ice tea was very good. The atmosphere and decor are interesting - they maintained some of the old industrial building's look. This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. The service and staff are fantastic!
