The picture shown by the previous poster was spot on. Very disappointed in the Reuben. Fellow who took my order at their shop on the Trail was great but his "guarantee that this is the best Reuben in Florida" was way off the mark. Playing $11.50 for my takeout Reuben I was excited to get home and dig in to something rivaling New York delis, but, alas. This is an average pretender, CB sliced too thick, skimpy/not piled high enough to warrant that price point, with something not even remotely resembling a good Swiss, on toasted Florida (faux) rye with mediocre sauerkraut and none-too-special thousand island.. The pickle was flaccid and pale, shriveled, and tasteless. What a complete disappointment. Would not recommend, ever, and shame on the posters whose recommendations I relied on to give this place a try. Have you ever had a Reuben?

You're hungry? Eat here!! Miss NY? Eat here!! LOVE great food? Eat here!! Enjoy friendly, honest proprietors? Eat here!! Absolutely delicious corned beef and pastrami rubens! And great, fresh cole slaw! We tried to order double meat and we were told that they were heavily meaty already and we took his advice. Good thing we did. We thought we were big eaters. By the time we ate our sandwiches, we were stuffed! We could have made two meals out of our sandwiches but we couldn't stop!! SOOO tastey!! SOOO comforty!!! Our kids had bacon cheeseburgers, and my husband and I split a corned beef ruben and a pastrami ruben. Everyone was happy and beyond satisfied!! I hope everyone will go here and support this great business so that it will always be here when we visit!! (Originally from NY, now we visit every year from California!) Thanks H H & D D for a great meal!

The worst corned beef sandwich ever! Being from the North East. I miss the great deli's with fantastic corned beef and pastrami. I have seen the "Best Rueben" signs and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered a corned beef on rye with swiss and coleslaw. At 11.00 I thought this was going to be one of those mile high fantastic sandwiches I have craved for so long. Instead I got a sandwich with a meager amount of corned beef, greasy toasted bread and some kind of creamy melted cheese. ( not swiss ) The sauce was nothing more that Mayo and oh, they forgot the coleslaw. I got the sandwich as a take out or I would have sent it back.. Inedible. Check out the "corned beef sandwich" photo I added you can see the slop they served.... It is not the sandwich in the first photo.

Great pastrami Ruben ! Great sized sandwich with a great fresh taste. Hidden in a strip mall it won't disappoint. Had some great specials that I will be back to try.
This is the real deal....where else in Sarasota can you get an authentic N.Y. hot dog...or better yet a corned beef sandwich that rivals the Carnegie deli. And Rocky makes it easy to take home his ragu and home made soups. After a delicious meal...my wife and I will take home his ham and bean, potatoe, and split pea soups. Frozen meatballs, in his grand mothers sauce....etc. etc. Oh by the way...save room for his home made brownies. I have been a customer since the store opened...and never had anything but a great meal.

Excellent food and excellent service. One of the friendliest mom and pop delis I've ever been to and you really can't beat the steak sandwich.

These folks know their pastrami, and that's a rare thing to find outside of NYC. I bought a pound to take home. Delicious! Good crust, perfect flavoring, the right amount of fat. The late hours are lovely for those on a weird work schedule. The only improvement I'd suggest is to add some low-net-carb vegetable sides.

Hubby gives the reuben 5 stars. Just like the little deli's we find in NYC. Friendly atmosphere, outstanding sandwiches. Delicious soup! We split one- both of us (picky eaters) very happy...highly recommend if your in Gulf Gate and want a quality meal.... Open till 3am!

The sign out front says "Best Reuben Sandwich in the state of Florida". So I went in and ordered a Reuben to go. The staff was very friendly but I have to say the Reuben looked exactly like the photo that the one star guy posted here. That being said, as you can see in the pic, the corned beef is cut super thick and it was as tender as you could want it to be. The flavor was good, but there are some serious delis in Boca Raton that blow this sandwich away. All in all, If I'm in Sarasota and hungry for a Reuben, I would Yelp first and then if no other delis show up. I would go back.

Tried the corned beef Ruben. This sandwich is incredibly tasty. Beautiful sliced corned beef on a perfectly toasted rye bread with plenty of creamy sauce and sauerkraut. For $11 I would say it's worth the price - if you love a great Ruben. Sandwich is large, some might say enough to share - but you probably won't want to! How AWESOME is THIS?!... I asked the owner ROCKY if he had any beer. He said no, but that he would bring our food over to Mr Beery's next door if we wanted to go get a beer! So we went, ordered an awesome craft beer and 5 minutes later Rocky brought our plated food to the bar. WOW. Love this kind of foodie community collaboration. Oh...and HH is open till 3a.m.!

This place is conveniently located next door to Mr. Beery's. I walked over to order a dog and fries, and the gentleman said he'd bring my food to me at Mr. Beery's when it was ready. A few minutes later we received a scrumptious dog and huge plate of fries with packets of ketchup. I was very happy with the price, the service, and the food. For a "quick bite" kind of place, this is most definitely a spot I'd hit up again if I'm in the area.

I am not a big fan of reuben sandwiches. Pure corned beef or pastrami on rye is my thing. However, stopping in to this lovely little joint today for the first time I had to try the house specialty. I gotta say that this sandwich is outstanding. Nice rye bread and superb corned beef brisket, the best corned beef I have had outside of NY and northern NJ. I say this as a native New Yawker. The owner, a very nice chap tells me while he does not cure the brisket himself, he does cook it on premises, and he hand slices it the way they do at Katz's. Having been involved in food prep myself, I must say that hand slicing has a most positive effect on corned beef and pastrami. Other than TooJays., local "delis" here tend to use the Boars Head product, which is pretty good for a supermarket meat, but does not have the "pop" of the real thing. The sandwich was accompanied by a nice cole slaw side and a pretty good dill, but not real NY sour pickle. Now if only he would put knishes on the menu, I will live in the place.

Reuben is out of this world; Rocky (owner) is one of the nicest guys you'd wanna meet. Small dining room but authentic down to earth atmosphere, this place is the real deal! I'd give it 5 stars if I tried more than 2 items...their Reuben is prett much worth it's weight in gold.

Rocky, I am sorry but after that food experience we will not be back. However the owner was a nice person. It was not an owner problem but instead a food problem.
