India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. We were really looking forward to having Indian cuisine after our Mote Marine EcoTour in Sarasota Bay. Hubby and I were both very hungry and had an hour to kill before they opened at 5:30pm for the dinner hours. We considered eating somewhere else but I had my heart set on Indian as it had been awhile. Curry Station is a huge hit with us!! I'm vegetarian, hubby is not. There are certain standards by which we judge our first trip to a new destination. Typically we order our usual meals and if enjoyed, we will be more adventurous on our next meal there. We went a little off course and couldn't be happier. We ordered a lot. We always order a take out meal because we don't live too close to an Indian restaurant. Our meal started with Samosa Chat for me, house salad for him. He enjoyed the Tamarind dressing. My appetizer was terrific - seasoned well and very tasty. Both of us would have liked the onion chutney we are accustomed to getting with papadam, but it wasn't offered. My main entree was Dal Makhani, ordered medium. DH ordered Chicken Korma spicy. Delicious and excellent. So enjoyable. We both declared our new favorites. Hubby was happy that we were served plain long rice as he doesn't care for jasmine rice. For dessert I had the warm Carrot Pudding with Nuts and Fruits, it was so yummy. Can't wait to have this during our cooler season too. All the portions were very generous. Sharing would have been easy. We are looking forward to our take outs of Lentil Soup, Chicken Curry, Aloo Gobi, Vegetable Cheese Kabob in Cardomam sauce, Okra. We also ordered Onion Kulcha which was not on the menu. This is not a fancy restaurant and the strip mall location may be easy to miss. Our chef, Nehendra, came out toward the end of our meal making us feel so welcome and was genuinely interested in our experience there. Both he and the wait staff were friendly, accommodating and Knowlegeable. They are expanding their menu and we are already planning our next meal there.

Curry station serves delicious food and the staff provides great genuine service. This was ourfirst time in sarasota and whever we return we will come back to this restaurant. We bought the yelp deal and saved $5. Very happy with this place.

We had the lunch buffet there last week and it was really first rate. Good selection of vegetable, chicken, meat dishes, a great salad, lovely naan. Unlike lots of Indian restaurants, the various dishes did not all taste like they used the same sauce & a slightly different meat or vegetable. I think this is the best Indian food I have eaten in the United States. I was so impressed that I signed up for the Sunday morning cooking class (they do them every other week). Great class. There were 7 of us & we did Palak Paneer and roti. Lots of fun, great instruction and we ate the food which was great plus Chef Narendra added a few additional items. I am definitely going to sign up for more. Spent the past few evenings trying to make my roti as good as his. Bill M

Just came back from an amazing dinner. Best Indian food in town. My husband is British and very picky when it comes to currys. Everything we ordered was perfect. My favorite is the chicken korma. We can not wait to go back. They do cooking classes on Sunday , we are both signing up!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Kerala Chicken Curry and Garlic Naan and my partner also liked very much the Chana (chick pea) masala. We are very glad to have such an authentic Indian restaurant in Sarasota and look forward to trying many of the other regional specialties on the menu on future visits. The chef/owner Narendra, his wife Sushila and the entire staff offered attentive and gracious service and it was a very pleasant dining experience.

We are Indian so our standards for good Indian food is very high. That being said, this is hands down the best Indian food in Sarasota. We tried the samosa chat, chili chicken, shrimp curry and fish goan curry. We loved everything but the chili chicken was out of this world!

My fiancé and I ate dinner there on January 24, 2015. Everything was delicious and the service was prompt and very friendly. It is one of the better Indian restaurants that I have visited. The location and the decor are more like a luncheonette but the food and service make it very worthwhile.

Passed this place on 301 a couple times and decided to try it tonight on a whim: had a blast. It's located on 301 just north of 12th street in the space that used to be J.R. Pho. While the ambiance was lacking in the typical 301/strip-mall fashion, you need to forget that and come here for the food! Dinner started with some crispy Papadum with two delicious chutneys (one creamy mint, the other tangy tamarind). For our entrees, we got Karela Chicken Curry and Chicken Saag. The Karela Chicken was the best Indian curry I've ever had/can imagine. My partner really enjoyed their Chicken Saag and the rice held all of that delicious sauce wonderfully. The naan was perfect: light with crisp edges. For desert, we had some amazing gajar ka halwa (grated carrot pudding). After finishing our satisfying, but not over-filling, we had a great time chatting it up with the owner (Narendra). Apparently, he's been cooking all over the world with the goal to make the best food possible. Luckily, he has decided to settle down in SRQ. I can't wait to come back for the lunch buffet! TLDR: Great service, superb food, very fair prices, 301 location is forgivable (it's all about the delicious food!).

Been twice for lunch buffet. Food quality and freshness very good. Butter chicken and naan bread are tops. They rotate the entrees as well, so you won't get burned out (unless you don't like curry). Spicy but not offensive. The chef (yes, he wears the white jacket) will tone down the heat for you sensitive types - just ask. Definitely plan to be a regular...

Great place to check out! very good authentic cuisine at an excellent price. Ill be back here on a regular basis.

Very good food. I highly recommend doing the buffet and getting the Samosa Chat as well. My friend and I decided to try it, and it was amazing. If you're looking for some good Indian food, then this is the place to go.
(5)Laura Y.
I love Indian curries and did not even know this place was right around the corner. I found a coupon on Living Social for this restaurant and decided to try it. It was fantastic. I brought two of my friends, one whom "wasn't really sure about curry" and it was a hit! My other friend had lived in England for a few years and loved a good curry and she really enjoyed this meal. This is my new favorite restaurant.
(5)JoAnna D.
Curry station blew our minds. The best Indian we've had, bar none. Better than any Indian we've had in both Brooklyn and Manhattan. The dal makhni was incredibly creamy and dynamically flavored. The chicken curry was also out of this world. Best lentil soup ever. Kind and accommodating service and a sweet chef who came out to greet us and introduce himself.

Firstly I have to admit that I'm not an expert when it comes to Indian food. It's something we rarely crave, and that makes things even harder when we do crave it because we don't know where to go and usually end up at a sub par place. Thankfully the craving hit this time when we were in Sarasota and it was right down the street from where we were staying. Curry Station is definitely small and unassuming located in a strip mall surrounded by auto parts stores and pawn shops. Definitely not the most inviting location, but they make great use of the tiny space allotted to them. It's not somewhere you'd go for a romantic dinner, but still very comfortable and the staff make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. I was also very impressed that after we mentioned my wife's nut allergy, the chef came by to check and make sure of the details. Even going so far as to use different water for her rice dishes. The food we had was wonderful and not at all heavy like other Indian places we've been too. Their naan is a little on the smaller and well done side, and I admit at first I missed the giant butter sopped naan you normally get at other places, but then I realized it also complimented the food better and helped the meal feel lighter. The food here also doesn't try to compensate by being overly spicy, so you actually taste all the spices that go into the dishes. I'm sure you can ask for things to be hotter if you want, but we weren't prompted like they often to at Thai restaurants. There is also a separate and very varied menu for vegetarians which made choosing difficult. We ended up ordering a few smaller dishes to share such as the chana saag (chickpeas in spinach), the lemon saffron rice, garlic naan and lentil soup. All were excellent without feeling oily. The garlic naan was also great in that it was pieces of garlic rather than just a garlic butter. The lemon saffron rice was probably the best part of the meal, with just enough lemon zest and juice to brighten it along with the saffron. Really long review short, even though I live in Tampa, I think I will make Curry Station my go to place when I'm in the mood for Indian food.

My friend and I are visiting from out of town and looked up Indian Restaurants nearby. This one had a very welcoming and user friendly website. It is a diamond in the rough, nestled in a strip mall. Don't let the outside fool you. Inside, they are serving up delicious Indian Cuisine at a remarkably affordable price. I had the vegetarian biryani medium spicy, my friend tried the lamb vindaloo hot spicy. The meals were divine. Both were flavorful, the portion sizes are immense- you will have a to go box- and the naan was cooked crispy and fluffy. The service was attentive and the chef comes out to make sure you are enjoying the meal. The price is very reasonable: the biryani, and an order of naan came out to 16.00. It was a grand experience. They do not have thali- the entrée sampler platter-so the hardest part is deciding which ONE of the entrees you would like. We came for dinner, but they have a lunch buffet. A fun bonus: they offer Indian cooking classes every other Sunday for 32.00/person. Definitely going to make a return trip!

GO HERE. The reviews don't lie. Curry Station absolutely blew me away! A friend and I shared the Chicken Tikki Masala and the Chicken Vindaloo for dinner, with a side of Garlic Naan ($3). I was a little skeptical of the serving sizes when the dishes came out (both in the $12-$15 range), but we ate our words, because we were bloated before we could finish our food and had to box some leftovers. I had high hopes because of Yelp, but Curry Station still exceeded my expectations. The dishes were like a heavenly explosion of spicy deliciousness in my mouth, with complex and sophisticated tastes and a hot kick. (real food gives you a runny nose.) I was floored. Well worth every penny. (Word of warning: It was so good that I inhaled it too quickly and got a brief stomach cramp. Eat slowly, savor the taste.) To top it all off, the staff were incredibly nice, and the owner/head chef came out and talked to us at the end of the meal. Very friendly people. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere. I'm definitely coming again. There's an $8.99 lunch buffet. If the food is half as good as dinner it'll be more than worth it.
(5)Christopher S.
We love their food, well so far we have had their butter chicken, YUM and their lamb kabobs which are totally awesome, their naan bread is second to none. Great food period

Tried this place on a whim visiting my sister in Sarasota with my nieces. It was their first time trying Indian food and I was excited for them to expand their palette. Unfortunately, the food fell short of the Indian food I've had in metro Detroit. Based on the reviews it seems like a sure thing. I thought the food was price a bit high for the portions we received. There was a lot of sauce but very little meat in the dishes. We ordered curry shrimp, curry chicken, chicken tikki masala, and tandoori chicken. I tried them all and I would rate them about a 6 on a 10 point scale. I didn't really get the richness of the sauces, or flavor profiles. Just seems to kind of taste like Indian food. We ordered take out so I'm not sure if that impacted the experience. Everyone in the restaurant was really nice, so I'd say customer service is a definite benefit. Maybe try them during their lunch buffet if your interested. Showed it was $8.99, whereas the typical dinner meal was around $13.99

Definitely the best Indian food I've had in the United States outside of home cooking. I was a little suspicious of the glowing Yelp reviews (ie we're in the Gulf of FL, not NYC), but once I tasted the food, I was floored by the bright and complex flavors. We ordered the lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, chicken biryani and Goan fish curry. All of it was outstanding. We went early on a weeknight and there was no wait for a table. The lamb vindaloo was the perfect marriage of hot and sour, rife with tamarind. Done absolutely the right way. It's a dish that should make you sit up and take notice; too many places don't know that it should be slightly sour as well as full of kick. I was so pleased with the Goan fish curry as well. Not only cooked to perfection, but the sauce (we asked for medium) was on the hotter side and full of ginger, masala and coriander. The biryani was a large portion and quite good; the garlic naan was excellent. Overall I left feeling really satisfied and really sad. This place is literally over a thousand miles away from me. Noooo!
(5)Fred B.
It's in a strip mall. But the lunch buffet was well worth the drive to get there. The food items are made fresh everyday. The spices are perfect on every dish. My group was from England and are used to eating curry. And they loved it. A good curry buffet is a hard to find and this is outstanding.

Enjoyed Curry Station Saturday night. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Buttered Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Paneer Pakoda. We arrived around 5:30pm and were the only guests, by 6pm, the restaurant was full. After 6pm in season, make a reservation. They also offer a cooking class on Sunday for $32 per person.

Excellent. Very welcoming of kids. Excellent fresh food. We compare every Indian place in the area to this one. We will be back!!
(5)Shruti D.
We went here with the intention of trying their buffet but ended up Buying the Yelp $20 for $15 deal and going al carte. Was absolute worth the money! Good food, 1 entree is perfect for 2. Decent service, value for money :) We ordered a Mango lassi, paneer pakoda, paneer butter masala, garlic naan. It's a super hit place amongst the Americans but for desi's it Reminds of good home cooked food by moms in India.

This place serves awesome Indian food. Our dinner was Lamb Madras with Garlic Naan, Pander Saag with Tawa Roti (made to order) and Samosa Chaat. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasteful. The spice levels were maintained to our request. The portions are decent for Indian Food. Quick service and courteous staff that's very accommodating to Customer needs. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have been here twice in the last two weeks. We usually haunt a different Indian restaurant but once we discovered yet another we had to give it a try. I must say that this is the only Indian place in Sarasota that rivals out favorite place. The same people are always there and so the service is always consistent. The waitress is always nice and the food comes out reasonably and tastes stellar. The first time we came here I wanted Paneer Korma which was not on the menu but they made it for me anyways. Super bonus points. My husband got the Chicken Mango Malai. I got a mango lassi and Garlic naan. The naan was some of the best I've ever eaten (and I have eaten A LOT), the lassi was perfect with the spicy korma which was slightly sweet and all kinda of savory. The paneer was perfect. My husband loved his malai which I got to try and dare I say I liked his slightly better than mine but thats probably because of the meat adding extra flavor. We also got an appetizer of mushrooms stuffed with cheese and spices which was delicious. The second time I got the Panner Butter Masala and he got Butter Chicken again with garlic naan and I opted for a sweet lassi this time. Again, everything was flavorful and perfect. The spices really shine and aren't hidden by heavy sauces. The lassi was great and refreshing. We got an appetizer of vegetable mamosa which was HUGE and tasty. Their tamarind sauce wasnt to my liking but their mint foam concoction is out of this world. In fact its the only 'mint chutney' I have ever really liked. Its not even like a chutney it's so smooth and mild. Prices are cheaper than most. Chicken korma here is about 13.99 whereas Ive paid 15.99 at our usual place.

We've been to Curry Station now half a dozen times or so. We've not been disappointed and while certain persons in our family keep ordering the same thing over and over again, I've been delighted with the excellent variety of spice and flavor. The owner, Narenda, is a great guy. He's from Mumbai but has worked for the Ritz in Dubai and the Cayman Islands before coming to Sarasota's Ritz. We recently attended a cooking class, which Narenda holds every other Sunday. You need to rsvp if you want to attend. It was a real treat and very informative.

I have a very mild Irish palate, and so I tend to avoid places that are exotic or notoriously 'muy picante'. My partner in culinary crime, however, seems to enjoy eating through tears and sweat. Several weeks ago, he won the "Taster's Choice" coin toss and dragged my son and I to Curry Station. I did not write a review after my first visit. This is simply because I stubbornly refused to admit that Mr. Hot Pants had hit upon a gem. After a random Thursday night visit, I have to go public with my joy, and genuflect before His Royal Rightness. Curry Station is no less than amazing! On our visit to their Sunday buffet, I tried just about everything - from the Tandoori Chicken to the vegetable masala and everything in between. I could have made an entire meal of the simple, but perfectly executed basmati rice. Stupid good. Last night, the chef personally stopped by our table to take our order and give some pointers and options for our vastly differing tastes. I ordered the Butter Chicken - which is exactly what it should be called. It is a mild dish in a scrumptious tomato gravy (which is everything good in this world) and slices (with a fork) like butter. The garlic naan was hot and fresh from the oven - seasoned to perfection with garlic and herbs. We shared a veggie dish of spicy chickpeas mixed with nirvana, and Duke Epicurious had the Chicken Tika Masala - which the chef made at a medium-heat for my plebeian palate. (Sharing is encouraged and pretty much necessary.) Before our meal even started, our server brought a complimentary crisp of some kind of magical lentil or chickpea flour with two sauces - one tamarind, one mint chutney - which danced in my mouth like long lost lovers. It's conveniently located on the 301 - but blink and you'll miss it. It's not much to look at from the outside, but there is pure MAGIC happening in that kitchen!

Sarasota finally has amazing and authentic Indian food! Your wait is over for flavorful, fresh Indian food served by a welcoming and gracious staff. The chef was out talking with diners and seemed to genuinely want us to have an amazing experience. Highly recommend the samosa chat (like a samosa salad, really) and the butter chicken. The breads are amazing too. You will not be disappointed - invite all your friends and keep this hidden gem thriving!
(5)Keely R.
Great food! The lamb vindaloo, tiki masala and garlic naan were fantastic.
(4)Kirke C.
Very unassuming location - yet another strip mall - but the food here is above average and unusually so for Sarasota. Wasn't feeling imaginative, so I had the chicken tikka masala which was excellent. The sauce contained bits of onion and green pepper, *tons* of chicken and the spices tasted fresh and complex - a far cry from the usual sauce that you get in other places that tastes like Campbell's tomato soup with a few spices thrown in. The vegetable samosas were generous in size and the inner bit was (again) spiced nicely with some complexity. Had hot chai tea at the end which you could tell was home made because (you guessed it) the spices tasted fresh - definitely not made from tea bags. For those of you not sure whether or not you like this kind of food, nothing was too hot or otherwise off-putting. When you see me talk about "spices", I'm just talking about complexity of the taste, so don't be scared! My only two small complaints (or it would have been 5 stars) were that the rice was plain. It was good, tasty basmati rice, but no cumin or peas or any of the other thing you typically find in Indian restaurant rice. Also, I ordered a butter naan bread and got a plain bread instead. Raita was good, though, and the service was very attentive. Check it out!
(4)M. M.
Best lunch buffet I have ever been to, not just Indian cuisine, all cuisines and all cities I've lived/visited. Dined two different occasions for lunch and once for dinner. The dishes were varied and each curry was unique tasting. The naan was properly cooked and when they bring out the tandoori chicken right from the oven...just WOW! The staff is the nicest and most gracious I have encountered.
(5)Ciaran F.
Have been wanting to try this place for a while, finally made it in and was not disappointed. Place was packed when I arrived but the owner asked me to take a seat while he got a table ready for me and promptly returned to get me seated. The staff was fast, courteous and on the spot for anything anyone in the dining room needed. The lunch buffet was varied and I tried a little of just about everything. All the dishes were very authentic and as good as I have had, and I've had a lot of Indian food :) My favorites were the buttered chicken and fish curry. As with a lot of Indian lunch buffets the heat/spice level was mild to medium so I am looking forward to going back for dinner sometime to take up the spice level.
(5)Edris T.
Great food, excellent prices! I really like that the chef cares about my dining experience, taking the time to come out from the kitchen to check on how I like my food! Try the lentil soup and chicken saag, delicious!

Wow! Just - wow! Back for round two and Curry Station scores a TKO. I was thrilled when my partner instigated a last-minute date-night and even more delighted that our destination was to be C.S. We'd come in for the lunch buffet a few weeks ago and were eager to sit down for dinner and order from the menu. From start to finish the experience was fantastic. Curry Station is in a tiny nondescript strip-mall; nothing to look at from the outside. Once you walk in, you're in a different world. The staff is friendly, courteous and incredibly helpful. We arrived after six and didn't have a problem finding a table. Our meal started with a basket of fresh papad, a Taj lager and hot chai. We had a great time ordering from the menu, which is packed with dishes from several different regions of India. But, the fact that chef Narendra himself came to our table to take our order really knocked this one out of the park. What a treat. My date and I were having a hard time deciding between a few dishes (based on spice profile) and, after a brief Q&A, our guide shot us a knowing smile and gave us a recommendation accompanied by reassurance that he would take our taste into consideration. That was it. A short time later, our piping-hot dishes arrived right out of the oven; Chicken tikka Masala (medium-hot so that my date would also be able to enjoy), Butter Chicken, Chana Masala and Garlic Naan. Everything was spot on. A second Taj to wash it all down and all that was missing was extra room in my stomach. I didn't want to stop eating and the portions were very generous. (side-note; I've been stealing bites of left-overs for the last 12 hours. It's THAT good.) I could go on and on about how amazing the food tasted. My table became a duet of "mmm'mmm's" and other yummy noises. By the time we hauled our fat bellies to the door, the dining room had really started to fill up (and it was a Thursday evening), leading me to speculate that it won't be long before reservations might be a necessity. That said, I've got to bump my rating of Curry Station to 5-stars. Don't miss this experience. Our thanks to the chef and staff.
(5)Will B.
Tried this place for the first time the other day. Excellent food and service, very friendly. Food wasn't as spicy as i expected with Indian cuisine. I had the buffet so it might be less spicy then made to order meal but, nevertheless this was an excellent meal with great flavor.

Outside of India, there are two types of Indian restaurant: those that sell an Indian-like food experience, as translated (in this country) for Americans, and those that serve Indian food. In contrast to much of its competition, Curry Station is about the food, making that the center of our experience. Bravo. An important point is worthy of airing here. The term "Indian food" has the same level of descriptive accuracy as "European food". Ingredients, preparation and cooking style vary enormously from Kerala to Kashmir. Lumping them all together is convenient shorthand, but short-changes many Sub-Continental subtleties. One day we westerners will untangle this agglomeration and be all the more delighted by the different regional flavors. Given that we are oceans away from the land of Bollywood and bhuna, we accept what's available. Fortunately, Curry Station successfully negotiates the fine line between authenticity and familiarity. Opening a new business like this in a slightly dodgy strip mall on the wrong side of town is a gutsy move, but the adversity seems to make the food taste even better. Very good: restrained use of spice and unusual ingredients (for drowsy American palates), appropriate portion size, excellent naan, fresh ingredients, Taj beer, frosted glasses, gracious and homely service and - surprisingly - cloth napkins. Slightly bum note: lamb saag contained more bones than I'd like. But that won't stop me ordering it again. CS is worthy of four stars, but because I want Narendra and his family to succeed mightily, I rounded up to five. If that encourages even one person to ditch Applebees for just one meal here, it'll be a triumph for us both.

We decided to try curry station because my (Indian) gf suggested it and we were unhappy with tandoor. The restaurant itself isn't in the best area, but the interior is quaint. For the appetizer we ordered samosa chatt which was okay but then again it was my first time trying a samosa. My gf thought it was alright as well. For dinner we ordered butter chicken, lamb biryani and garlic naan, all of which were delicious. They were able to accommodate to our spicy palates when we asked for the dishes to be spicier. The only compliant would be the raisins in the biryani... So beware raisin haters! Though you can easily pick them out. Service at curry station was adequate at best. They took about 45 mins to get us our dinner :( and we were hungry. We did get complimentary papdam. The price is fair and we got plenty of food.

I'm glad we discovered this little gem and will definitely will return. Made a 7pm reservation for 4 since it was a Friday night. Upon arrival the restaurant was busy and all seats were full except our reserved table. The pleasant staff quickly greeted and seated us to begin our feast. We started with an assortment of apps including a special request of Chicken Pakora which is not on the menu, but certainly a favorite of mine. Our special request was happily accommodated with a smile. Also Paneer and Veggy Pakoras, and a Samosa Chat. All were excellent, with a nice slight crisp, not greasy. The Samosa was nicely filled and obviously made with care and quality ingredients. We followed with Garlic Naan and Paneer Paratha, both excellent. Paneer was well packed like a sandwich with a light fluffy filling, we joked that the filling was so fluffy and thick, like the consistency of a scrambled egg, it simple melted in our mouths. Because I had three newbies with me, we only ordered tame dishes, and mild heat which worked out perfectly, as Indian food has so much going on spice-wise anyway (relative to typical American fare). All were excellent, our favorites being the Chicken Tikka Masala with its amazing layered flavors, followed by Kerala chicken that had that rich homemade "stew" feeling but with incredible flavor. The Chicken Curry and Butter chicken also had excellent sauces and flavors. All of the chicken dishes were made with well trimmed chicken. We were too full to have desert, and left with left-overs that we just could not finish on the spot, and made an excellent snack the next day. The chef (obviously an owner based on his manner and desire to please) walked the dining area and talked to each table. I inquired how the Tikka Masala was made and I was impressed and amazed at the at the time and marinating steps involved, that certainly explained the depth of flavors in our favorite dish. Service was excellent from start to finish. Enjoy!!

THE place for Indian in Sarasota. The owner, Narendra, and his wife welcomed us in as if we were family. As local vegetarians, it was wonderful to stumble upon an Indian restaurant that really uses fresh ingredients and welcomes you to order off the menu despite also having a lunch buffet! The Chenna Masala was like I have never had before. The sauce wasn't from a can. You could taste the fresh tomatoes of the sauce! It wasn't a tomato paste that had been filed with preservatives off of a food delivery truck. Narendra is taking whole ingredients (tomatoes in this case) and breaking them down into a homemade sauce, right on location! I have had Indian food all over the USA: Pittsburgh, Miami, Seattle and I have never tasted the fresh flair that this place has. The flavors are delicate yet ROBUST! The potatoes and peas dish was also wonderful! It was very Ghee tasting with wonderful spices and was fantastic. The naan is freshly prepared and not the usual store bought/packaged naan that could just as easily be a Greek Pita. I don't like my ethic breads to be confused or double as anything else. If it's a Greek Pita, it needs to be a Greek Pita and if it is Naan, it needs to be Naan and this place has hit the mark 100%. No confusion here: just good naan made with love. We get the garlic but Narendra recommended we try his special "Chilli Naan" next time (he knows we like everything spicy)! While they do not have a personal favorite of mine, Gobi Manchurian, I still would rather do without a favorite dish of mine and go here rather than other places that are not as good by far. If going here despite not having my favorite dish is not enough to convince you, I do not know what will! They are wonderful, the food is GREAT and there is easy, convenient parking!!

Now full-time residents of SRQ (and major curry lovers), we were extremely excited to try this new addition to the local curry scene. The restaurant ambiance is fairly bare-bones but service is very friendly and the food is amazing. Definitely a 'must try' spot for anyone who knows and loves a good curry.

I have never really been into Indian food. However, I went there for the lunch buffet and tried a variety of dishes. Simply awesome! BTW, the owner is the ex chef from the Ritz!

The food was excellent. Pam had the buffet which is a steal with huge variety. I had the chicken vindaloo which was excellent. Highly recommended. Great service. Very reasonable prices. We will be back.

So good. I'm not to adventurous when it comes to spices, but the stir fry veggies and butter chicken are my jam! Would definitely recommend!

Loved it! Flavorful, authentic-tasting food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I eat a lot of Indian back home in Brooklyn, and this was some of the best I've had. Loved the lamb curry, lentil soup, more. My only regret is I didn't have room for dessert!

The curry station has good Indian food. We had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala which were flavorful and worthwhile. We ordered the samosa chat for an appetizer and it was lukewarm at best. The service was good and overall quality was good. We would go back.

This is by far the best Indian food restaurant we tried in town! We are a family of 5 passionate vegetarians. My 7 year old is an expert on Palaak Paneer and said it was the best one he had so far (and he had it at least a few dozen times including mine that is pretty top notch, I must say!) It is wonderful to see the chef greeting the guests, the portions were generous, the paneer browned to perfection and so was the amount of heat and spices. The atmosphere was wonderful with excellent service and satisfied customers on a busy Saturday night. We highly recommend it and it is now our favorite place in town. Thanks for the tip YELP!!!

Found this little hole-in-the wall after buying a LivingSocial deal and then went back three more times! The food is great and it appeared a lot of the other patrons were regulars. Never had to wait to be seated. Would not recommend for more than casual lunch or dinner as the atmosphere is just a few tables in one room, the restaurant is part of a strip mall; there are no candlelit corner booths (for example). I haven't had Indian food much before this; for other 'beginners' I recommend starting with the buffet so you sample a little of everything before you move to entree ordering. All the sauces for dipping are fantastic.

Best Indian in Sarasota, possibly in the region. Everything I ate was delicious. The location itself is nothing special. It's a typical boring strip mall that I've driven by for years. Don't let that fool you. The owners were courteous and made sure my family and I were happy. I'll definitely be back.

Delicious!!! Attentive, warm couple own and run the restaurant. Good is beyond amazing and with the buffet (which is a steal by the way) I got to try a little of everything.

If you like Indian food - the real thing, you will be delighted with Curry Station. If you don't mind the neighborhood or basic ambience - try Curry Station. We ordered the $8.99 buffet. I tried everything and it was delish. The owner/chef came by twice to check on our satisfaction level. That guy can really cook and knows just the right sauces for each dish. We will be back to try the menu offerings.

Don't let the exterior of this restaurant dissuade you from eating here. The food is freshly and lovingly prepared and very, very tasty! The service is also fantastic!

This is the kind of place that really benefits from Yelp, as I never would have stumbled upon it under normal circumstances, but I went looking for it based on the good Yelp reviews. It's in a dumpy area of Sarasota in an even dumpier strip mall featuring a pawn shop and a RAC (rent-a-center), across Washington Blvd from Enterprise rent a car and down the road from Hob Nob (same side of the street as Hob Nob). Neither the outside or the inside of the place is fancy, but it is clean and the service is very friendly. Don't go to their all you can eat buffet thinking there are going to be 80 trays of food like you see at the Chinese all you can eat buffets. This place has a very limited selection of maybe 6-8 trays and two kinds of rice. There is also a bowl of salad and a yogurt dressing and rice pudding for dessert. 6-8 trays is plenty to experience some really excellent food! Not only the buffet, but when you sit down, your hot Naan bread is brought to you and the chef himself arrived at my table with fresh hot chicken that he just took off the grill. This was a little twist on the usual expectation of an all you can eat buffet where everything is already in front of you ready to go. At this place, some of the things are not prepared until you sit down and then it is served to you very freshly prepared just for you. There was a chicken entree, a mussel choice, a few veggie choices, the rice, salad and rice pudding the day I went which is enough variety to satisfy just about every type of lunch time customer. The price of the lunch buffet is very reasonable at $8.99. Even though it is called "Curry Station", there are choices for non-curry lovers, too. I hope more people read the reviews and decide to check it out. This is the small kind of mom 'n pop type of restaurant that you want to see succeed. The price for lunch is competitive with Panera or other quickie places, but you get more here.

Fabulous authentic Indian food. The samosa chat is a must not miss. Authentic curries and seasoning that doesn't shy away from "hot" when you ask for it. We loved the funky setting right on 301 next door to a pawn shop. You can still see evidence of the old Subway sandwich shop inside. We love that as it suggests a real grassroots experience. In fact, we were visited by the chef himself who clearly takes pride in his work and he should! This is a gem not to be missed and the BEST Indian food in town.

Having stumbled across a glowing review for Curry Station, I decided to try the lunch buffet. Excellent! Each dish distinctive and well-prepared. The fish curry was really a standout. I will certainly visit again.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of their pricing. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The Chef came out and chatted with us and was a delight. It just seems over-priced. We spend nearly $40 for two dishes that were very minimal, but excellent tasting. We just keep thinking, "Is this all we get?" Most of the dishes were around $12.99 and it seemed that it would have felt more like a value for $8.99. With the minimal environment of the restaurant, i just expected a better deal for what we got. I would probably not go back, because I have other choices for good Indian food that is a better value.

To find an Indian food restaurant / chef in Sarasota Florida with such a deep understanding of his food and culture was a delight. Our table enjoyed the lunch buffet as well as ordered off the menu. The food was rich and deep in taste while not being overpowering. The portions were generous but not too much. The owner and staff were kind and helpful. We travel to this area of Florida often and even though we are an hour away from here it is worth the trip!!! Thanks for a super meal!!
