Decent food, love the clean eating options. But when it comes to flavor and portion size (hamburger patty) I don't feel like I got my money's worth. My daughter had the chicken fingers and they were delicious.

We go here every time but the location and tradition is the draw, not necessarily their food. How difficult is it to get a burger cooked right? Warning, sometimes it'll be fine and the next time, maybe not.

Grass-fed beef. You don't see it often, but when you do, have some. Pickles is the quintessential Burger Joint on the Beach. They've smartly made arrangements to have tables in the shade, whether it's under their roof or under nearby trees, and the misting fans are great for combating the heat. You order at one window and grab a seat, and the food runner brings it to you. Food-wise, they do burgers, dogs, chicken, fries, desserts, shakes and some beer and cocktails. They also have a few surprises, like an ice cream case and giant pickles. Their fries come in regular, large, and "Walk-Away", which looks like someone took a movie bucket of popcorn and put fries in it. The grass-fed beef is delicious. Some may think it a little off, because they're used to consuming fast food garbage, but this is actual beef the way beef is supposed to be reared and prepared. So while grass-fed beef takes a little getting used to, it doesn't detract from the fact that it's delicious. I shake my head any time I hear people mention the price of the items here. You're at an eating establishment on the beach in Seaside, FL, and you're complaining about the price of a cheeseburger because it's made from quality, extensively-reared beef rather than a $.99 burger made from Grade D slurry? Walk on, son. For every burger you don't eat here, I'll eat two.

We love visiting Seaside FL when in the area but.today I was so fed up with the attitudes and disrespect from the young kids that worked there. The place was a little over priced for what you get and I asked for a refill of water which I was charged $1.48 for and I was told they don't do refills. I looked at the young lady and I said "are you kidding me? It's ice water! I'm not asking for a refill of cola. I then asked for the owners name and phone number and she refused to give it to me. I asked for a manager and stood there for 5 minutes and no one offered to help. I will NEVER eat here again and I would not suggest this place to anyone. And one more thing. The advertisement that says "World Famous Hamburgers is false advertising. It has a long way to to bring world famous. The only reason I give 2 stars is because of the atmosphere being close to the beach and I hope the owner reads this. And I still want my refill. *Update* Its 10:30p and I'm still ticked about the water refill incident. Not trying to be a drama guy but seriously? It's just water and lord knows this area has had plenty of rain over the past week. I am gonna find out whom the owner is and contact him/her. If the owner would read these other negative comments maybe he would take action to change the place.

$27.50 for a cheeseburger, small fries, a Bud and a Coke??? Seriously, the most overpriced burger joint ever! Doubt if they have much repeat business.

  • Nate C.

Heard about this place from a friend of my parents. If you go here, you got to try to burgers and the fried pickles. The only "shock" value was the price tag. After getting 3 burgers, 1 large fry, 1 order of fried pickles, and 3 drinks cost almost $57. Despite the high price, the food was pretty good and the atmosphere is funky, fun, and exciting. The staff was super helpful and easy to work with. Worth a trip!

    (4)
  • R. W.

Overpriced and overrated. Pickles were nothing out of the ordinary.

    (1)
  • Jennifer I.

    Pretty good!

  • Vanessa L.

Oh my, I just had the best Turkey Burger here in my life. Yea it was $9 but so, it's quality versus quantity in my opinion. I love food that tastes natural. I hate over processed and over seasoned food because I am very health conscious. This burger will definitely be appreciated by those who love quality meat/food. Service was great and fast. Staff was very friendly. I will be going back for sure.

    (5)
  • V D.

First I had to pay $1 for a water cup, then when I asked for a refill they said "we don't do refills" And the food is overpriced and not quality. Don't eat here!

    (1)
  • Katherine S.

If I could rate it a "0" I would. $100 for a dozen Chix strips, 4 milkshakes and 2 fries. Two orders of chicken strips came out but other 2 orders waited over 30 minutes. Food was just ok. Tourist trap. Food trucks on the opposite side of road had some great looking options at reasonable prices....wish I had checked yelp beforehand....

    (1)
  • Lisa E.

Beers are $6, but the sights are worth the view. Love to sit on the side of 30A and enjoy people, and music. Sitting area is under the shade and breezy.

    (4)
  • Nicole O.

$16.00 was a bit much for 1 BLT, 1 small fry and two small drinks. It was tasty food but the BLT had one strip of bacon cut in half. Fun place but overpriced for what you get or at least what we got! Not sure if we will be back :-(

    (3)
  • Stephanie G.

I wish I would've read the reviews on here before eating at Pickles. Everyone is right! The food is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!! We paid $37 for 2 burgers, an order of fries, and 2 cokes ($4 each with no refills). Yes we did enjoy the scenery of Seaside but the food was nothing special. I guess it's just on my list now of places that I've eaten. But I won't be back.

    (2)
  • Veronica W.

Just had dinner at Pickles. Really liked the atmosphere of a beachside grill. I had the homemade pimento cheese sandwich and ice cold grape fanta. Tasted great. The staff was great. It was a bit pricey but we are at the beach, everything is pricey! Still loved it and the town of Seaside. I will go back.

    (4)
  • Rhett G.

Disappointed. $50 for 4, they didn't even include fries. Convenient for kids, nothing else.

    (2)
  • Gregory P.

I base my reviews on value and unless eating in Seaside is worth a lot to you, this place will disappoint you. Our family of six spent $101 for lunch w/o any cocktails, no beer and only one appetizer. There is no tip in the $101, so be prepared to drop some cash for burgers and fries with the most expensive soft drinks I have ever paid for. A 32-ounce diet coke (fountain) was $4.00....and no refills allowed. A slice of American cheese on that hamburger? An extra dollar please. There is no view unless you enjoy people watching or traffic and no wait service unless bringing your meal to you and never coming back counts. There is really nothing wrong with the food, its just a really bad deal when you add up the costs for bar food and no service. I recommend the street vendors on the opposite side of the road. They were busy and a much better deal too.

    (2)
  • Jennifer F.

Atmosphere great, but not worth the money!! Cheese burger 11.00 and fries 3.00-nothing special!

    (2)
  • Jamie W.

My sister and I ordered two burgers, an order of fries and two iced teas and our bill totalled $36. While the food was excellent, they don't do refills on their overpriced drinks. In the Florida heat, refills are a must and don't cost the establishment but pennies. We won't go back despite the good burgers. The prices are just too steep for my pocketbook and I've got a healthy sized pocketbook. I'll hit the food trucks next time.

    (3)
  • Todd C.

Truly 2-star: over-priced and slow for noontime rush and dinner. Would say they are more like a 3-star mid-afternoon. No milk -- head's up if you have small kids.

    (2)
  • Whitney D.

Messed up our simple order, then didn't try and make amends! Over priced- poor service, and food is so-so. Plenty of other places to go!

    (1)
  • Karen P.

Late lunch for 5 with no adult beverages for $88!!!! And, it was just so-so. My grass fed beef burger was cooked closer to medium well/ well than the medium I ordered. The meat was very dry. On the other hand the bottom bun was completely soggy. Too bad because my $1.50 blue cheese was stuck to it but was uneatable. Hubby had a decent club sandwich but his toasted bread was also soggy. Kids were so so about their burgers. And finally the resident squirrel seemed to like the fries better than we did.

    (2)
  • Edward O.

Went mid-afternoon on a Tuesday. Only a few people there. My wife had a pimiento cheese sandwich and I had a burger. We split an order of fries and each ordered iced tea. Bill was over $30. My wife's sandwich was good but probably not worth the $7 I paid for it. Burger was essentially flavorless. No seasoning that I could detect. Burger was advertised as 6 ounces and I seemed to be a good sized patty. Ordered it medium and it came out nearly raw inside. Dripping blood. Staff did not seem friendly. It was almost like they were doing us a favor serving us. Tea was $4 and did not include refills. Bottom line - expensive, food was mediocre, service was unimpressive. Will not go back..

  • Ken And Stephanie P.

Stopped in for a breakfast. Not good. Breakfast fries were overcooked and eggs had a weird flavor to them.

    (1)
  • Matt C.

Great Breakfast sandwich!!!!!! The location is a great people watching spot. The service was fast and friendly.

    (5)
  • Caroline C.

horribly overpriced, horribly rude older woman working the cash register. the owner and the other employees were great and the food was delicious!

    (1)
  • Krista T.

Absolutely LOVE the philosophy of this place HOWEVER. I was interested in the veggie burger and asked if they were home made or if they were a processed Boca burger. The girl behind the counter assured me they made all their veggie burgers right there. When I receive my burger it was pale and looked exactly like a chicken or turkey burger and when I bit into it there is no doubt this was meat. So I went back to exchange the burger not mad at all and was told trust me it is a boca burger (which is not what I wanted in the first place) and was told I was wrong. I wasn't going to sit and argue I'm just mad that I wasted my money on this place what crappy customer service

    (1)
  • MrSunshine S.

I wouldn't recommend this. It was just average roadside quality food at restaurant prices. $45 for two cheeseburgers, a shake, fried pickles, and a coke. They actually upcharge $1.75 to add cheese to an already $13 burger. You're really better off to go to a real restaurant if you're going to pay those prices, and not eat at a roadside shack. And, the kicker was the cashier's toothy response was simply "Seaside". Which is ludicrous, because I think Seaside is a wonderful family destination. -unacceptable. Spend more wisely and enjoy one of the restaurants in Seaside. For slightly more you can have a phenomenal meal at George's, with great service and ambiance. Or, for about the same go to Great Southern Cafe and have way better food - their Key Lime pie is the best I've ever had. I've gotta feel sorry for any family going to this place and expecting to just grab some burgers without refinancing their mortgage. I actually overheard one mention they'd spent over $100 for a family of four. Pickles really needs to wise up, not be so greedy, and lower their price point. For a burger joint the most important thing you can do is create raving fans and repeat customers. Not just fleece newcomers to the area. And, unquestionably serve the best damn burger ever. It wasn't even fresh ground beef. Big disappointment.

    (2)
  • Justin D.

Pickles definitely know how to fleece tourists. Service was spotty. They just don't care. Burgers was pretty good, but like other reviewers say, overpriced. There are many food options in Seaside, Pickles should not be one. Take this one example from April 6, 2015: We paid $7 for a Good Humor bar. $7...let that sink in for a moment. For something that cost $1.50 at Modica Market - 200 yards away. Could you imagine the markup Pickles would charge if they sold wine? One bright spot was the Chef Salad, but overall avoid this place.

    (2)
  • G S.

Very tasty burgers and good fried pickles from a beachside shack. Quick service. All does not add up to $21 for each burger, fries and drink. That is $42 for two burgers for kids. Five Guys equal in flavor and 1/3 the price. Not worth the price, I almost could not believe $100 burger bill for family of 4 people. Personally at that price a real restaurant like Great Southern Cafe is a much better option. Burgers across street at food carts are better option.

    (3)
  • Alonso A.

Out door seating. Very nice in the mornings. Food was wonderful freshly prepared quality ingredients.

    (4)
  • Liz F.

If you need a FULL plate of breakfast this is your place to go. The atmosphere and the town of Seaside really sell the spot and I imagine if it was somewhere else it wouldn't do so hot. However, the omelet was pretty tasty and I was sufficiently stuffed for the rest of the day. However, for the quality of food I wouldn't have expected it to be so pricey and that caught me off guard.

    (3)
  • Amber A.

Great, perfectly cooked burger! Just what the doctor ordered after a long day on the beach and a few cocktails! ;) We also got fries, which are the perfect size but if you are salt sensitive, tell them light salt. I was happy to pay more for grassfed beef. Also, they have cold beers!

    (4)
  • Chad T.

Has great food! The fried pickle burger is the best thing there! After I ate the food, I felt satisfied with myself! I love their fries too! The only bad thing is the no refill on drinks! I am giving this place a 5 star because it makes me happy!

    (5)
  • Janine M.

Just Average and expensive! Fried Pickles are pretty good. I'd skip it and walk across the street to the grilled cheese food truck!

    (3)
  • Brittany L.

The fried pickle spears are AMAZING! The prices are too high, but that seems to be the trend for Seaside, FL. The lines are always long but that's because it's hard to find fried pickles this delicious.

    (3)
  • Kellie B.

Pickles is a fun place to grab a burger or dog! Fresh cut fries and fried pickle spears are what's best on the menu! It's all about comfort food after a long day on the beach!!! It's a bit pricey, but so is everything else in Seaside!!! Great staff...fun & friendly!!! Pickles is a MUST while visiting Seaside!!!

    (4)
  • Marie H.

Tasty burgers! Pricey in my opinion for not a lot food, for the price we paid ($55) we were better off going to an actual restaurant and getting more for our money. Don't get me wrong food isn't bad just the overall of there prices, especially if your on a budget while on vacationing or so.

    (2)
  • Brittney F.

Ridiculous to pay $49 for 3 kids meals and a burger AND have the food be ALL frozen food quality! Very disappointed and the service was horrible too! Do not waste your money...visit the food trucks across the street!

    (1)
  • Darren G.

Good burger, good fries, but SUPER overpriced.. Kind of expected here, but $100 for burgers, fries and coke for 5 is rather difficult to digest..

    (3)
  • Gail K.

Did we really just pay $60 for two burgers, two kids burgers, 4 soft drinks and a large fry to share? #firstandlasttime

    (1)
  • Diane G.

I can only comment on their French fries and Bloody Mary. The French fries may have been close to (if not) the best fries I have ever eaten...we ordered a small cup for $4, then a second, then a third large for $5, and they were DFL delicious. The Bloody Mary was okay, but left a lot to be desired (the pickle and pickled okra garnish was a nice touch).

    (3)
  • JR M.

The atmosphere in Seaside was great. This is a little diner type place. It's not air conditioned, but it wasn't too hot. The burgers were really good, but I think they are over priced. They are by far not gourmet burgers. Plus, no free refills on their drinks. Those are over priced, too.

    (3)
  • Shane B.

Good food and great service but one of the most expensive meals we had all weekend. The food prices are certainly elevated for such a small shack dinner. We really enjoyed the fried pickles and the burgers we delicious but not at Ribeye prices.

    (3)
  • Sarah S.

Burger was dry, bun was soggy, and no refills on soft drinks. Definitely a sub par experience.

    (2)
  • Tom C.

This place has definitely improved with age and the quality of ingredients have a good bit to do with it. You couldn't ask for a much better location than right on 30A across from Seaside town square. Pickles is a good place to walk up, all sandy from the beach, order and enjoy. While the seating is outdoors, it's always comfortable, even on a hot day, with the mister fans going. The burgers are grass fed beef, thick and juicy and cooked to whatever temperature you want. They come with the typical toppings and those toppings are very fresh. If you order bacon on your burger, let's just say that you better like bacon. Piled high would be an understatement. For breakfast, get the hangover omelet. Stuffed with bacon, sausage, cheese jalapenos and more, then served with crispy little diced hash brown cubes on the side. Yum!

    (4)
  • Dann W.

Extremely disappointed that we spent $60 on lunch for 3 and they refused to give us an extra small ranch..........We got 2 small ranch with our order but then we needed another one. The server said we had to go All the way in the back of the line and Pay for another one!!!! The cashier completely ignored me and was very rude to my daughter. Won't return........ Beware the pickles aren't worth the Horrible customer service!!

    (1)
  • Jacqueline M.

I don't know what they put on their fries but it's ruined me for other potato-based foods. Best damn fries in the South. Good veggie burgers and grilled cheese too!

    (5)
  • Hunter B.

This place is ridiculously over priced. I paid $27 for a couple pieces of lettuce that they called a salad and just a hamburger.

    (1)
  • Cj G.

Waaay too expensive for what it is not to mention the quality. I had a milkshake that they didn't mix right. Go to one of the food trucks across the street. But what can you expect? It's pretty much for rich kids at Seaside.

    (2)
  • Jason M.

OVERPRICED! It adds up quick. 2 kids meals, wife and I shared a burger and fries with a non- refill drink and order of pickles. Over $40. Kids burger was the size of a Krystal burger. ($7). Will not be back. You are better off taking the short drive to Blue Mountain Beach and having a burger from Sally's by the Sea.

    (2)
  • Eric S.

TOURIST TRAP ALERT!!!! Burger was passable--overcooked and dry--but edible. And, other than the fries, was the only thing we were served that was not straight from the freezer. Veggie burger: frozen. Chicken fingers: frozen. "Smiley fries" (part of the $8.00 kids meal served with a burger the size of a single slider): well, you get the point. Oh, and the "hand made shakes"? $8.00 each. And no, they don't have alcohol (and were so sweet they were undrinkable). I'm on vacation and I realize I'm going to overpay for meals. But usually the food is decent. This...not so much. Upon being served we immediately wished we had tried the food trucks across the street. Oh well, next time.

    (1)
  • Jaime G.

Very overpriced. Paid $42 for a polish hotdog, club sandwich, chili cheese fries and two drinks. I wouldn't have minded the price so much if the food was actually good or "world famous" as the Pickles signs perclaim...it wasn't by the way. The food was just "world average" at best. So people don't waste your time. Instead walk across the street and visit all the food trucks.

    (1)
  • Al C.

2 burguers and two chicken tender plates, 3 drinks and a beer for $60,00!! , no fries included, no refills... give me a break! Nice burguers though but $$$ in my humble opinion.

    (4)
  • Charlee G.

Typical walk up beach burger place. Good burgers and sandwiches, over priced but then the rent is probably outrageous at this location too. Had lunch there after discovering our favorite Seaside restaurant - Crush Wine Bar - had closed. Two burgers, one grilled cheese and two beers cost $45.

    (3)
  • T-rex M.

Pricey, but delicious. Our grass fed beef was a bit over done and the staff quickly brought out fresh burgers perfectly medium. We sank those teeth in and damn, it was good. Getting it right, the second time, and graciously was enough to please me on this beachy lunch.

    (4)
  • Casey B.

Great place for kids. We will walk from the beach to get a fun lunch at Pickles. Though it's expensive, it's more affordable than the other lunch options along that stretch. This is the place my kids talk about as we drive down to the beach every year. The fried pickle spears are very tasty. Also, if you want a drink like a margarita or piña colada, you'll save about $5 getting it at Pickles.

    (4)
  • J W.

The food is not bad, it's just overpriced. To be fair, most of the places I've tried in this area are. Your typical burger and dog joint. And topping like cheese cost extra. I got a burger with cheese, regular fries, and a soft drink and spent $20. I'd rather spend that on a nicer dinner elsewhere. Warning: the fries are EXTREMELY salty. Be prepared, I couldn't eat more than a couple before I had to give up on them.

    (2)
  • Genny S.

I am disappointed in this restaurant just like other reviewers. I wish I had read them before eating there. The service was horrible and we didn't get what we ordered. The food was dry and not tasty at all. The fresh cut fries were good. The WORST part about our experience was my 6 & 3 year old getting sick 30 min after eating at this place. It was heart breaking watching them throw up and have diarrhea on the last night of our vacation. I seriously hate that we wasted our time & money at this place. Do not waste your time!

    (1)
  • Christina B.

Great pickle spears, good burgers, a little pricey but that's Seaside. It's right in the middle of town near shops so you can shop while you wait for your food. Open air restaurant and tables outside as well. Family friendly.

    (4)
  • Jim M.

Went there for milk shakes the other day. Pretty unimpressive. I would not bother with their shakes.

    (2)
  • Rusty S.

If you have the opportunity to go to pickles, you should pass on that opportunity. Unless, of course, you prefer lengthy wait times and an inconsiderate and inattentive wait staff. Wasn't actually able to try the food or any of the beers from their oh so tiny selection because I wasn't going to continue waiting in a line that moved at a rate of one customer per 15 minutes. And no, that is not an exaggeration. Two people were served in the 30 minutes that I waited in a line that started with 6 people. Really, the worst service I've experienced in quite some time.

    (1)
  • Chris A.

Um, no. Good views of cars stuck in traffic.,fries were oily, orders were wrong. Onion rings were uncooked. Should be a better place would be great location for something great just not this place.

    (1)
  • Katie P.

While the outside decor looked inviting, the completely empty restaurant should have deterred me, but didn't. Service: consisted of a stoner looking blonde guy who looked irritated for having to do his job. Food: Two cheeseburgers? $22. That's right, meat, cheese and two buns for $22. When the food came out it was literally DRIPPING with grease and we didn't even finish the meal. My spouse and I were definitely regretting this place afterwords if you know what I mean... I would have much rather gone to a McDonald's and spent $2 then have gone to this place.

    (1)
  • Mia H.

The food is ok, but overpriced. The menu offerings are ok, but overpriced for what you get. Simply put... meh. T-shirts are cute though.

    (3)
  • Brian M.

Had burgers and hot dogs. Everything was lackluster, but expensive. Drinks were high-priced and whoever heard of no refills on tea? Won't go back.

  • Stacy B.

Spring break...family of 4, plus 2 friends...trying to eat a late dinner (9ish?). It was the only quick place open, and the place was packed with kids and adults. We stood in line for probably 20 minutes before getting up to the window to order. We were all ok with the selections (we were starving by then and therefore far from picky), but I have to agree with others that the prices were totally unwarranted. A tiny milkshake was $8??? That's nuts. The girl taking our order was very helpful, clueing us into the fact that a large fry will feed two. She managed to stay cool and friendly despite the "rush" on the restaurant at the time. Once we ordered, it was about another 15 minutes before it was brought to the table. We all enjoyed our food. We were lucky to snag seats. Many had to look for somewhere outside to sit. All in all we were pleased...just wish there was less of a wait, the prices weren't outlandishly high, and more seating was provided.

The food was mediocre. Service wasn't anything special.
