I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night. It was a bit noisy outside, but perfect inside. They had a band playing, great ambiance, our waitress was friendly and timely even though they were super busy. The food was fantastic; I will definitely recommend this place to friends :)

Honestly the best boiled shrimp I have ever had and as far as seafood goes shrimp is low on my favorite list but I could've ate PILES of it I tell ya.However my husband was craving oysters so he ordered steamed as well as raw and they were out of it on ALL U CAN EAT OYSTER NIGHT....reeeaally ok... also mother n law ordered a baked potato none of those either how about we sub it for some sweet tater fries oooh your out of those to oooookaaayy hmmm whats up??? Anyway once we got an order in the food was absolutely delicious and I wouldve given the place 5 stars if we would've gotten what we wanted!

Food is consistently awesome. I have been going there for years. Always exceeds expectations. Burgers are the best around, wings are great, soups delicious.

Here from Santa Cruz CA to visit family - baby bro took me to Hurricane Pattys and everything was really delicious! Beer battered fresh fish, crisp crunchy slaw and generous well made margaritas. Atmosphere suited to harbor-side with a Florida Keys flair. I'll be back!

The buffalo shrimp was by far the most delicious dish we got. French fries aren't fresh or anything---pretty sure its the frozen kind you get at any supermarket. Hush puppies was also very generic. I liked their salad; they certainly don't skimp out on croutons or cheese or lettuce. The shrimp tacos (opted for shrimp because of our bad-a$$ appetizer) was alright. Wish I got to try the fish tacos instead because my shrimp tacos was nothing like the buffalo shrimp appetizer---very bland and unappetizing. Our server might have forgotten us a couple of times but managed to show up at the nick of time. The manager was very welcoming and the overall feel for the place was pleasant. I'd probably give this place a second try, preferably in the afternoon b/c I'm sure the view is fabulous in the daytime.

Ah love this place! Ah love this place! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I went to this place! Oysters by the bucket. Shuck 'em yourself, sit around and get drunk, oysters. Yum. My friends and I made a whole meal out of a few buckets and some rum. That's another thing, Pina Coladas on the rocks. YUM. Oh and the she-crab soup? YUM. Oh and seriously, the night I spent sitting outside listening to the blues band play, getting drunk and shucking oysters might have been the best night of my life. Heaven.

The stew was fantastic, by far the best plate of all that we tasted. The rest was fine, not great. Atmosphere is laid back with some loud but not too loud live music. Wait staff was fun and sassy, enjoyable and competent.

Very disappointed. Arrived at 7 for all you can eat lobster night. Seated by 7:30 and drinks made their way to the table at 8. Waitress brought wrong drink and tried to sell it to another party at the table. She said it would stay at bar until so some ordered one. After tasting it we knew it was wrong drink. Killer of it is that we tasted it and they still were going to sell it to so some. Just throw it out! Waitress told us they ran out of lobsters. When ordering other items we were told they didn't have, drink refill didn't happen due to running out of ice. Dinner arrived at the table by 9. Not a good experience.

We had the seafood platter for 2 and it was just ok... The fish and shrimp and strips were the only good items on the plate. The crab cakes were very dry and the scallops were a bit chewy... Red Lobster is a better bang for the buck even though its frozen seafood it's still reliable and always consistent.. Tried it and won't be back..

Had the fish tacos - very good. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Place was packed and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Nice sitting area on top deck. It was such a refreshing change from the Sunset Grill right down the street. STAY AWAY FROM SUNSET GRILL (rude staff, mediocre to bad frozen/microwaved food). Hurricane Patty's is very nice!

Should have read the reviews more carefully. The ambiance was as expected ... A fish house in the rough. Sat outside with buckets of cigarettes on the tables. Ordered cups of chowder; received huge bowls. Sent them back and waited approximately 20 minutes for our ordered cups. Delicious. Then it was downhill. Lazy man lobster was difficult to find in the massive amount of salt and stuffing. Potatoes were cold and old. Waitress checked on us; we returned our dinners and ordered plain steamed lobsters. They had an all you can eat lobster special ... We ordered one each. Multiple lobsters were delivered all around us ... We waited 30 minutes ... Nothing in sight. A very loud and extremely intoxicated table disturbed all patrons... Management would not acknowledge their behavior. When the lobsters finally arrived, they were so overcooked and disgusting. Also, same old and cold potatoes arrived again. We left starving.....after the manager told us he wasted $80.00 on us. Waitress was given a $20.00 tip

Terrific bar! Locals spot... The staff were very friendly. We had 3 different appetizers, the Buffalo Shrimp, Marinated Steak Tip and a Dozen Oysters (raw) all were excellent. Though the shrimp was probably the best, had a spicy sauce with some pop to it... The oysters were very good also and no Deep Water Horizon oil on them to speak of.. A couple pitchers of cheap beer, live entertainment, great location, great place.

Our first night in FL and my wife and I went looking for a place to get a light dinner and see some local color. Hurricane Patty's fit the bill on all counts. It is right off of Ponce de Leon Blvd traveling south from King Street. If you go over the little bridge, you went too far. We went at night so had no idea of our surroundings (went back and took pictures in the daylight). There is a boat ramp in the parking lot - I'm willing to bet at least one or two patrons have driven into the water. The menu is varied and service was excellent. Didn't feel like beer at the time so we ordered wine and were surprised when the server asked if we wanted a half or full carafe. The wine (merlot) wasn't bad). Our dinners came quickly and were both excellent. My wife had a salad which was huge while my cajun oysters, beans & rice and cole slaw were excellent. Live entertainment (it was a Saturday) was good. The guitar player had a good voice and his singer (a Janis Joplin wannabe) was also good. The rest of the patrons (a mix of locals and tourists) provided the balance of the entertainment - this is a great place to "people watch". We stayed for a couple of hours (had to finish the carafe) and enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely go again when we are in the area.

Located on the dock of the Oyster Creek Marina, this place offers huge portions of different seafood; fried, grilled, broiled or blackened. My wife and I had the sampler for two ($36) and we could not eat it all. My kids shared a salmon dinner. Everything was good; I probably would have rated it higher if I order more raw or grilled items versus the fried food we had.

Seafood is pretty good, service is really slow (understaffed?) although they were very nice. I had greens and grits with mine and they were nothing special. It was just okay, I wouldn't make an effort to return. Lots of flies outside.

Once we found the place we were both pleased with the look of it... right on the water, just the right amount of "dive" to it..... We ordered Minorcan Chowder and the waiter told us about the "Hurricane" chowder, which is a mix of the minorcan and new england clam chowder.... we got a cup of each and the minorcan was quite good but the Hurricane was lovely, very tasty and rich and filling. I ordered the grouper sandwich, fried. The fish was very fresh and delicious, but it was breaded with cornmeal and that was awful! Fried Grouper should have a light breading or batter with a delicate texture and nice crunch, but this was hard as a rock... it didn't crunch... it broke into hard shards when you bit into it. It was a sad waste of a nice piece of grouper. Hubby had the shrimp po'boy, they used the same breading on the shrimp. Ruined the shrimp, ruined what would have been a nice po'boy. We'll be back for the chowder, but won't try anything fried as long as they stick with the cornmeal breading. Cornmeal is for catfish.

First time visiting, me and my husband sat outside. Never got service. They were not even busy,, maybe five people total! After 15 minutes we walked out, they just told us, "have a good night," we looked at the hostess and complained, he just stared at us. When we were backing the car out to leave the hostess ran out yelling come back we are sorry for the inconvenience. Talk about a delayed reaction. So Pretty much Service sucks and so does their timing. Maybe the food was excellent, but I'll never know.

I like this place - everything about it. The decor, how hard it is to find, the benches on the deck that overlooks the boats in the marina, the locals that obviously eat here, the waitress that wears her sunglasses b/c it's bright, the friendliness....thanks Yelp for helping me find this place. Big old plastic Coke bottles for water - awesome, b/c I drink lots of water & usually end up asking for 5 refills. Had the blackened grouper wrap w/ house salad ($1 extra for salad instead of fries). Wrap was about $9. The house dressing is a spicy something - they use Ajelo (?) chilies & for those of us that aren't good at handling spiciness it leaves quite an afterkick so be forewarned. Good amount of grouper & blackened nicely - not overly seasoned or spicy. Oh, but no carrots on the salad? There must be a carrot shortage during my visit here in FL. And the bathrooms - although authentic w/ old wooden/metal doors - could have used a cleaning Park on the sand....or dock your boat & walk up the ramp. Awesome!

I had the wings with Datil pepper sauce, my friend had crab cakes with black beans and rice and greens. Both were very good. The Datil had a bit of a kick and a bit of a fruit taste, and interesting combination. I enjoyed it very much. The crab cakes were more cake than crabs but OK. Very enjoyable place, the band was called "Toot's ....something. There were perfect for the place, not too loud and the singer was great. Oh, we had excellent service and waitress gave wonderful suggestions on the food, very helpful. Enjoyed my meal and the stay.

We had a party of ten. They served us quickly back-to-back with a party of twelve and didn't miss a beat. This place is on the water in a marina off Rt 1/Lewis. Prices were great, food was great. we ate grouper sandwich, mahi sandwich, crab cakes, clam strips and burgers. All great!

Not a good night. Bartender was distracted. Fortunately, the table was ready quickly even though there was a holiday crowd. Didn't get our appetizers. Dinner took over 30 minutes to serve. Hush puppies overcooked. Crab cakes were ugh. I would have given them a 1 star, but we've been there before and everything was fine. Usually a great locals place. Me thinks that holidays with the heavy tourist crowd take them over the edge. That or the full moon was in force...

This is typically a locals only place from what I was told. The food was great. We had a little of a few things (grilled shrimp, scallops and shrimp stuffed with crab) and they were all great. We sat inside (because it was hot as hell that day) but had a great view of Oyster Bay and could watch the boats and it was great. They had live music and the guy singing was REALLY good. A woman, who I am assuming was Patty was going around to all the tables making sure everybody was happy and was interacting with customers and that was nice. Service was a little slow, but the quality of the food made up for that.

My boyfriend and I ate here in May 2009. It was pouring down rain when we went for a late lunch/early dinner (around 4pm), so there weren't too many people there. I ordered crab legs and beer, and my boyfriend had shrimp and beer. Both loved it. They had a live band, and we noticed some of the locals who we met earlier that day that worked at the attractions (Fountain of Youth, the Fort, etc). You know if the locals are there, it's a good spot. I love the low key, high fun local establishments that are as far away from tourist traps as possible, so this was perfect.

Five stars from me. I like that it is kind of out of plain sight. Most great places are only known by locals and thats what we were looking for. Being from Key West we love seafood and the nautical theme. This place reminded me of home. The best shrimp that I have had in years. My wife ordered the Mahi which was mild, firm and delicious. I will travel the 2+ hrs. just to eat here again.

While this place is hard to find it is definitely worth it. They have seating both inside and outside. Their happy hour is the best - they have 49 cent oysters and chicken wings along with 99 cent draft beers. They have live music both during the day outside and inside at night and they have a nice view of the Marina. The staff is very friendly and the decor is like a dive, but a step up.
(4)

Low Country Boil was really good, although menu included sausage but the waitress said it didn't? Despite that hiccup food and service was great..loved the marina bar atmosphere. we were surprised by the extensive daft choices to! We'd definitely return for more.

We heard about Hurricane Patty's through another local bartender while we were in Florida. We were there actually on the 26th of December. Do not go by the date when the review was written because the time is relevant. If you make it to St. Augustine, FL. I highly suggest you go to Hurricane Patty's. It's a local pub and it is nestled in a cove. The view is mostly of boats and such. Really neat. The menu is a bit much for what you get. However I highly suggest their New England Clam Chowder. It is succulent and delicious. It kept my palate going back for more. Their beer selection is a changing one. They were sold out of the local beers on draft. Such as a porter they had. I opted for a nut brown ale from Jacksonville and it was quite tasty. The Alaskan snow crab legs are good and the shrimp po' boy is a generous portion of fresh shrimp fried and served on a hoagie. They have a band every Friday night. It was a good time and I would definitely go back when I venture down there again.

We held our sons graduation party here with about 40 guests. The management and staff were wonderful. They handled our crazy group kids, teens and adults really well we couldn't have wanted more. The food was above average for fish camp style and the prices are very reasonable.

New England Clam Chowder was amazing! Kicked off a star for the slow service. When we got there the place was dead, no more than 6 other patrons. After seating ourselfs (as told), it took almost 5 mins for someone to bring us menus and ask for our drink order. :( Could have been better but for a dive in a marina it was not bad.
(4)
Ruth M.
The awesome. Full of locals. Full of delicious. Live music, and a 3-7 happy hour with 49 cent oysters. Everything we got was delicious. Be warned - this place is super-hidden. We went at night, and my boyfriend's faith in Google Maps totally failed as we passed it a few times without seeing it. Trust the tubes. It's right past the marina, down that unlit dirt road that looks like it dead-ends in the harbor. Go. Now. Minus a star because they were out of everything. No key lime pie. No some other stuff. But the stuff the waitress recommended was so good we forgot about our first choices. Go.

Great place for a fast, friendly, meal & cheap too! ($1. beers) Best oysters anywhere around, Apalachicola oysters for sure (best in the world). A little hard to find; off route 1, south of St. Augustine. Part of a marina, lots of outside seating available, old salty type building with a lot of charm. Definitely a locals hang out, biker friendly too. Will be back here again for sure!

Visited in October. Very relaxed atmosphere. Appears to be a popular hangout for the locals. We ordered the Cajun Mahi-Mahi and the sesame crusted tuna. Both were excellent. The tuna comes with a wasabi spread that will blow you out of your chair. Only negative was the live band the night we went. Good music but ear-splittingly loud. Overall, would highly recommend.

This place is very good. This is a great place to see St Augustine in a relaxed "locals" kind of way. The water is close by, boats are everywhere (it's a marina) and the food/drinks are very good. You can sit inside or on the porch, which was a bit uncomfortable on a July evening. There was entertainment inside from 6-9. The decor is very cool, rustic beach shack. There's a huge lobster that greets you at the door. The food was very good too. The menu is extensive if looking for anything from salad to burger to wrap to chicken pasta. They were on track for 5-stars, but the grouper wrap and ahi tuna sandwich both lacked enough taste to make them excellent. My grouper wrap had too much lettuce on it and the salsa on the side was missing cilantro (imho), and couldn't easily be applied to the wrap anyway. The fish was good ( I chose blackened). My wife's ahi tuna sandwich came with no dressing, sauce or spread. There was lettuce and tomato. The fish was done perfectly, pink inside and was tasty, but more was needed to make this a sandwich. The waitress did offer condiments. I think my wife should have asked for some mayo or mustard. To start, I had She-Crab soup, a staple in my diet when in Charleston. This place did it justice with the right amount of crab and an excellent flavor to the thick broth. There were some crab shells, but that's hard to avoid. It also came out barely warm, but given the air temperature, that was welcome. I then went with their wings, medium with a ranch topping. You get 10, they were very hot (temp, unlike the soup) but were also excellent. They were tasty, meaty and just warm enough (spicy). I'd take a run at hot next time. Service was great. The beers were cold and cheap during the 3-7PM Happy Hour. Parking can be tricky as others have mentioned, but there are lots of places if you are willing to walk from the marina. This place would be great for kids as the boat ramp is right there and the porch is large enough for them to wander a bit. I'll head back, but sit inside next time, unless it's cooler out.

The gator burger was great and the hurricane drink was good. The staff was great in recommending food and drinks that are very local and very unique to the place.

Our go-to place for a relaxing, laid back atmosphere. We go there at least once a week for happy hour 49 cent wings. Try the sweet and spicy datil wings, my favorite. We can chow down on a dozen wings, a dozen raw oysters and a couple drinks each and get a bill for less than $20 (at happy hour). They have live music just about every night. Try and go when JW Gilmore is there for blues you would pay to see in New Orleans. Usually full of locals and a few tourists. We always take out of town company here and they are usually charmed. Very North Florida, looks out over the water and marina.

Our group of 11 had a great time. Large portions, great location (by the marina), cold beer, friendly staff. My wife and I had the platter of two and were overwhelmed with food; Enough to feed four. The shrimp and oysters were great; not the best crab cakes though. They've got a pretty neat galley bar and there was live music too. Definetely some place we'll visit again on our way through St. Augustine.

The wings at Hurricane Patties are some of the best in St. Augustine,I would definitely recommend them with the spicy ranch sauce on top, and they're even better at the happy hour price, which I think is .40 Cents. They also have steamed oysters at the same price during happy hour as well, but beware you have to shuck them yourself and they are very tiny. The clam chowder is also really good, but pretty much everything else I've tried on the menu has been disappointing. The Gator burger was charred and very dry and the crab cakes were all breading and no crab. The atmosphere is just ok and seems more like a local bar. Not fancy seafood dining, but a good place for cheap oysters and wings.

Great location with good food at a decent price. Would have given five stars if the outdoor seating was nonsmoking. A little off the beaten path but worth the effort to find it.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly service. Soups were a highlight, mahi mahi was a little overrated, and the platters are perfect to split. Overall food was great and reasonably priced.

While we've been staying at the adjoining Oyster Creek Marina, we've been stopping by for the Happy Hour on occasion. At 50 cents apiece, oysters are decent, and the wings with datil sauce are unusually tasty; they have Yuengling in pitchers for only a little more than the rest of the domestic drafts. Ordered a burger to go from them a while back, that was good eating, too. Wouldn't go out of my way for them, but it's a fun afternoon. We've heard the live music as we've walked by, and it's usually something good. Great service crew, too. Check out the "tiki" carvings in progress on the patio posts. A local artist has been working on them on his days off from his regular job.

What more can you say?....the food was great and the beer cold , the shrimp outstanding and I have never had a better boiled dinner ! We are locals and this is the best of St auggie, period. This place rocks

The food is good--cheap oysters and wings at happy hour. The wings are great! A large selection of fried seafood (the hushpuppies and onion rings are good), wraps, burgers, low country boil. The service was super slow. Happy hour is from 3 to 7. We placed our order at five minutes until 3 and were not allowed to order the happy hour specials. We asked the waitress to come back at 3 then, but she came back much later. Disappointingly, they were out of oysters and the lunch special (pulled pork w/ datil pepper sauce). The location is nice--at the Oyster Marina. It is an out of the way restaurant, so it was not crowded, which makes the slow service even more troubling. Hopefully they were just having an off day. The food is good enough that we will be back.

Cool restaurant with great views whether you choose indoor seating or outdoors on the deck. My husband and I loved the conch fritters appetizer and the avocado salad was yummy too! Try the peel and eat shrimp too! Big, fresh tasty shrimp are great cold or hot! The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, is the service was a tad slow...was worth the wait!

Hurricanes patties is a hit (for most) . Apparently it's quite a local institution. I gave it four stars based on the large group that I was with - everyone was very happy with their food. Except for me! The review for my meal would be a two maybe three stars. I ordered a burger to be cooked medium - what arrived was a black and charcoal burger. They were more than gracious and replaced it with a medium well cook the burger which is what is anticipating when I ordered a medium burger -knowing that they would probably overcook it. Others in my group enjoyed the seafood boil and chicken wings. The real question is: will I go back? Probably not.

Hurricane Patty's was one of my favorite dinner spots to hop on the motorcycle and take a ride. About last summer I think HP went either under new management or new owner. Since then, sadly, food and service has gone down hill. The last three visits ( I just didn't want to give up ) we were sat down and forgotten. Twice we ordered our favorite low country boil, first time came minus the shrimp and small portions. Second try came minus corn , sausage, and the oysters. The shrimp , crawfish, and crab was cold. Problems with the steamer our server said. But the customer who got in after us, but got their food before us didn't seem to have the same problem. In the middle visit we didn't have the LCB, and the food was good. Hopefully they can work on their steamer problems and staffing knows what area they handle. Will be back? Just won't give up. Nice place.

You can't beat the great view and the food is amazing! We had the raw oysters, peel and eat shrimp (big shrimps by the way) and Gator tail. Service was friendly and helpful. This place is a must try when in St Augustine!!!

MAN OH MAN. I'm still dreaming about that calamari. Gahh. It tasted soo good and the marinara was very tasty and came in a big bowl. Score! The shrimp was also BOMB DIGGITY. The sauce in came with was sooooo delicious. We got it friend dinner style. Minus one star for the too salty clam chowder. I'm picky with my clam chowder having lived in California and all. Also, their konk fritters were bland. The Fish and chips were OK. We prob should have ordered the catch of the day. Plus, they didn't have any strawberry daiquiri and then, when my mango daiquiri came out it wasn't blended enough - so not enough that it wouldn't go through my straw. And when I asked for it to blended some more the waitress said they couldn't and it was thats the most blended it can get. Hmmmmm, okay.... Still 4 stars tho. The calamari, the shrimp, and the great ambiance made up for the bad things. Also, they have a great outdoor area with a nice view. I'd come back. Id just know better on what to order. :)

New owners have taken over and what a big change! Already looks cleaner and food is much better. They have a lot of big plans and changes coming and I look forward to seeing them. Great nightly specials and can't beat the happy hour. The view of marina adds to the charm for sure. It's a great place away from hustle of downtown and plenty of parking.

This is so off the beaten trail and my beaten trail but I felt like some sea food at a more local type place. Well I got my wish though when here one feels like they are certainly local but I wasn't aware I was in the deep south, though when looking at the map I guess I am. So, the place is at the back of a marina and sandy parking lot awaited me. Seeing smokers everywhere on the outside patio I headed to the bar. Lively, excellent bartender in Sara but didn't have the chutzpah of ordering a martini so I had a few beers. No, not the Bud and Bug Light's of the local crowd but the most popular imported beers 10 years back. Looking at the menu I saw that they specialized in fried seafood. Though not bad it certainly could have been better. I had the fresh crab strips, with side of slaw and fries. Tartar sauce full of corn syrup. As an app I had some raw warm ahi tuna that was decent. So looking around I didn't see anything looking that good though the portions were larger though not as large as the bellies full of Coca Cola, beer and fried food. I won't be back.unless I need a sun burn on the back of my neck.

This was the worst food that my family has had in a long time. The calamari was overcooked and hard and you can clearly tell they were previously frozen. I ordered the grilled shrimp and my wife ordered the blackened shrimp. If you like frozen overcooked rubber shrimp that has no flavor this is the place for you. The sweet potatoe fries were also mediocre at best. My 2 year old had the kids fish and it was also flavorless and not fresh. Sadly we had to stop by McDonald's for a happy meal so she had lunch to eat. My wife and I are just hoping we aren't going to be sick. We definitely will not be returning.

Came here on steak night and sat out and enjoyed our dinner. Service was really good! The place is hidden so not crowded with tourist! Only problem is a dozen oysters was an outrageous price, but everything besides that was great!

Locals! Locals! And more Locals! This is my kind of place. Good food in this hole-in-the-wall joint located directly on the water. Parking has always been pretty easy for me as it shares a parking lot with the marina. Local bands and live music on weekend offer a lot of fun and entertainment. The Friday Happy Hour of half priced drinks and pitcher beer specials along with food choices of hot crawfish, mussels, chicken wings, shrimp with the many sauces, dips and butters are great finger foods for just a few pennies a piece. They also offer burgers and fried cheese sticks with marinara for the land lovers plus a plethora of other non-seafood dishes. However, since I'm on the water, the fresh seafood is a huge plus along with super efficient, southern mannered, attentive wait staff. BTW, you can reserve tables here. Excellent experience this time and last. We sat outside right next to the boats and water with a wild group of drinking ladies next to us that provided free entertainment all night long. Amanda was our server and she was terrific! What a great place to end the week and start my sister's birthday celebration with a bucket of Malibu punch and fabulous Bloody Marys--much try them! Here, you definitely can make new friends and enjoy the view if you are open and have a good attitude. And why not? You are in the oldest city in the country and enjoying the outdoors with happy people. Relax. FYI: Make sure to map it or you might just miss the road. Love HP!

Visiting St Augustine and found good reviews about Hurricane Patty's restaurant on Yelp. They were right on! We had the Hurricane Seafood Chowder which was amazing, better than any New England clam chowder I've ever had. We also ordered the calamari rings also very good. Don't miss this place. Cool atmosphere, great service and good live music nightly.

Waitress tried to memorize food order and messed up. Ordered 30 wings half grilled medium half regular dill pineapple. Server came back with only 15 dill pineapple. Sat around for another 30 minutes to bring back 15 more dill. Charged us for grilled and wouldn't take off anything for not giving us the medium wings. We were there for an hour and thirty minutes and couldn't wait to leave the server so we just paid it. Good food but TERRIBLE server. Tall, dark hair girl in her 30s.

I think everyone who commented on the bad service had our waitress. I had to ask for lemon 4 times, and she messed up the sides on our order, and we didn't get to see her more than 3-4 times. That being said, the rest of the experience more than made up for it. The other staff pitched in and help us get what we needed and man did we get a lot of food! I ordered the fried fish platter and it was easily twice the size of what I was expecting. The seafood itself was pretty good, the fried shrimp took the cake and I barely ate the founder, but I knew going in I would love the shrimp and was only giving the founder a chance, so maybe it's more personal taste than anything else. Regardless though, the fries were good, the sweet potato fries were excellent and the chicken wings were to die for (especially on happy hour). We ended up bringing a bunch of food back to the b&b for a second dinner/breakfast next morning and I left thoroughly stuffed and happy. And if that's not enough, it's close enough to downtown to be a nice, short drive or a long walk without having to be stuck at an overpriced tourist trap type place. This clearly is where the locals to drink and eat some good "dive bar" seafood while being on the water to enjoy it.

Excellent service and the food was fabulous! We highly recommend the Low Country Boil! If we are ever back in St. Augustine, we will definitely be back!

If want insanely meaty oysters come to this local hangout on the marina my friend actually found a pearl in one on our visit!! It usually has some great live music inside as well...wont disappoint!

This was our first time eating here. We are on the deck which was nice, but dark. It needed more light. We could hardly see our food. Ha! Anyway, the food was delicious and the servers were super friendly. The decor is pretty cool. Karaoke was going on inside the night we were there. As with all karaoke some were really good and others....well. We had a good time and good food. On our way back to the car we met up with about 4-5 raccoons. They had been rummaging in the trash. Cute and ornery.

They wouldn't tell me where the shrimp was from. I got wings. The garlic was from a jar and had no taste. The hot wings needed sauce on the side. Waitress never checked on us or refilled drinks. Fish in the fish and chips was breaded, not battered. Its a deep fried fest with some steamed stuff. Conch fritters were lacking conch. Fries were from a bag and they sucked. Our waitress sat down with another customer after looking at my empty glass three times. F this place. Its a dump anyhow.

If management would do a revamp of their staff this restaurant could be a great place to go. However as it is right now the staff is rude and the food is awesome so pick your poison. I had the seared ahi tuna and it was amazing!!! Just wish the staff was more friendly. Maybe a training class on customer service is needed.

Amazing service and the food was amazing. We were with a group of 16. Most had the AUCE crab legs and shrimp. It was fabulous. The food was hot and they kept refills coming very quickly.

My first time here and I've been a "local" for 3 years now (vacation home). I can't believe we never discovered this place sooner, such a gem in St. Augustine so close to downtown. Service is great, super sweet and southern and friendly. From the hostess stand to our waiter things were fantastic. The food was super fresh, came out hot, and even satisfied the most judgement and pickiest of critics: my dad. He got the fried scallops, cheese grits and devoured them without one complaint (that's rare, folks). I got the fish and chips which I shared with my sister (I eat like a bird) and my family shared the coconut shrimp. Both were derricious. They have live music and a view of the harbor and boats and downtown so the ambiance is super cute, very local spot so ladies trade your stilettos for some good ol' kicks and call it a day. When we come back, we'll def be trying the clam chowder and the key lime pie. The tables all around us got those two things and I suffer from FOMO so you best believe I'll be getting that!

So downtown St. Augustine is packed for some event, no where to park, no way we are going to eat there. We start driving out of town and refresh the resturant list on the Yelp map. BAM, THIS BABY COMES OUT OF NOWHERE!!!! Hurricane Patty's, 4 stars, $$ with 40+ reviews, immediately started thinking that this place is a hidden gem! It totally was a hidden gem. Oysters were wonderful. Coconut Shrimp top notch. We sat outside. There was a big deck and some seating inside. The staff was friendly and carried that divey beach bar attitude that you would expect at this sort of establishment. Pain Killers (drink/spirit) made with Captian Morgans instead of Pussers. Different than what I expected but still good. Excellent drink selection overall. I would highly recommend this place for someone looking for some good sea food off the main drag in St. Augustine. Hurricane Patty's is truly a hidden gem on the water that I would never have discovered without the help of Yelp!

Great buffalo shrimp. Fresh shrimp in light crispy batter drizzled with special creamy buffalo sauce. Cold beer. Good wings also. Cool local hangout on the marina.

Crooks. Wouldn't honor prepaid Groupon-like certificates. They just said they don't accept them anymore. I paid $30 for two of the certificates through Double Take Deals. The legalize said the merchant is fully responsible for redemption of the certificates at purchase value through 2019, so basically they stole $30 from me. I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times over the years. While the food is okay, the service has always been terrible and rude management. Not surprised at this rip-off.

We are on vacay from Georgia and found this place on YELP and we were thoroughly satisfied! We shared the fried seafood platter and it was delicious!! Our waitress was helpful and the owner was very nice and welcoming. If you luck up and go there on a day when the owner has made her now famous Hummingbird cake you will be in for a treat! We got our slice to go and did not eat it until we got back to our hotel room in Jacksonville. That cake was so moist and full of nuts and pineapple my only regret is that we didn't get TWO slices ( really chunky hunks) to go!! We will most certainly be back the next time we're in the area!

Great local place with tons of food for a decent price! Just over the bridge from downtown St. Augustine, this dive restaurant offers a ton of food for a great price! Caribbean Jerk Chicken: great, spicy flavor, huge portion, delicious sides Fried seafood platter: an enormous amount of a variety of seafood. Fresh, well cooked, enough for 2-4 people, and comes with 4 sides. For $30!! Wings: I recommend the Cajun ranch. So delicious! And they were extra cheap because of happy hour. Atmosphere: great dive seafood place (picnic tables, open air seating) right on the marina. Included live music! Service: the worst part about our visit was that the waitress did not tell us it was happy hour, with tons of food specials, which could have adjusted our ordering. She was also a little less than attentive. But, we had a very short wait for a table, and all of the other staff was very friendly and conversational! Would definitely recommend this to visitors trying to get away from the downtown bustle and prices!

Delicious! The peel n Eat were awesome. They could've used a little more Old Bay, but I liked them. The cocktail sauce needed a little horse radish and our server Ashley got that as soon as I asked. My wife's fish n Chips were great. Nice crunch to the fish. The grilled chicken and fried shrimp were cooked perfectly. No complaints from anyone about the food. Ashley was very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Our 2 year old wasn't having the best of times but another employee Danielle hooked him up with some crayons and a coloring book and life was good again. I recommend you try it.

After finding out there was a 1 1/2 hour wait for a table at O'Steens, we remembered a few good reviews for Hurricane Patty's and set the GPS to take us there instead...and we're glad we did! This restaurant is set right against the water on a marina and has a nice "authentic" seaside feel. Unfortunately they were out of Conch Fritters, but we soldiered on a ordered a fried seafood sampler platter for the table along with an extra order of fried shrimp. We were all so impressed with the quality and freshness of the seafood! The platter contained fresh local fish, clam strips, crab cakes, scallops and shrimp. We had sides of beans and rice, fries, slaw and a Caesar salad. All of the fried seafood was cooked to perfection...the scallops were creamy smooth but the fried shrimp was the clear winner in the crowd. All the sides were tasty as well. We finished off the meal by sharing a slice of Key Lime pie...which was made with graham cracker crust and was yellow (like a real key lime pie SHOULD be!). All in all this was a pleasant surprise and a great meal in a fun setting.

This was first time here and LOVED it!! The food is great! I would recommend the steak tip appetizer... Excellent! Thursday is steak night and although we didn't get the steak the blackened shrimp was very good as was the blackened fish with Oscar sauce! We will go back for steak night! Our server, Lilly, was awesome!! I definitely recommend that you give them a try!

A totally fun surprise. We never would have found this place without Yelp. It's not the easiest spot to find but it's worth the quest. We were starving. My wife wanted fresh seafood but the finicky teenagers who accompanied us wanted burgers. Miraculously, everyone walked away happy from our lunch. Don't let the casual exterior fool you...the kitchen is turning out seriously good food. The menu is HUGE but it seemed like they'd nail just about anything they attempted. More than fair portions, reasonable prices, and high quality ingredients. If you can handle the daydrinking Jimmy Buffet rejects who huddle at the bar, you'll find a delicious dive-y paradise.

Well at first sight it's looks like a marina but as you get out and get into the restaurant /bar it is a diamond on the river. With inside and outside seating and live music in the main area make for a good place to have a beer and good food. The staff greets you with a smile and seafood beer is always a good combination.

We made our first visit to Hurricane Patty's tonight, we had an Entertainment coupon for a BOGO meal. We were seated immediately, the music was loud! A man that said he's been singing there for 9 years was playing. He was good , but too loud for a dinner crowd indoors. We ordered drinks and were told of the steak special, I took out my coupon and set it on the table in plain view before ordering for the server. My husband ordered steak special, I ordered a side salad and a fish sandwich. Before I was halfway through my salad my sandwich and his meal came out. The portions were large, the salad was good. I wish they paced the meal, it was cold once I got to eat it. The server came and cleared off the table, and picked up my coupon and at that time informed us they no longer accepted them. He said the new owner took over the restaurant and didn't renew her contract with Entertainment . They continue to receive the coupons, he gets quite a few of them. He offered to see if he could get a manager to give us 10% off. He came back to say, "sorry can't help you." My husband asked to speak to this manager, he came to our table, we showed our coupon. He said the new owner had no idea those coupons were even being printed. We asked him why they don't have a sign on the door letting people know they don't accept them, or something inside the menu. He said he's been trying to get the owner to take care of that. We asked him if was going to give us an adjustment being we came there specifically because of the offer. He said no, he could/would not offer us anything because it would come out of his pocket. This is poor customer service. Waiting until after we eat, and then saying too bad is unacceptable. He could have explained they don't take them, and made an adjustment. This apparently is an ongoing issue. We won't be back, and we will be sure to spread the word.

I would normally rate this place a five star experience. Unfortunately, it is plagued by a bad server. Poor attitude, dismissive environment, and failure to inform about the happy hour restrictions resulted in what we believed to be a relatively cheap dinner (45 bucks) to cost us over 75 dollars. When approached about the issues, she did not even offer a discussion with management. We were just dismissed as "misunderstanding customers." The food was amazing, which is why it pains me to give such a low rating. This business is highly recommended, but ensure you have a thorough discussion with the server as to what is and isn't applicable for happy hour.

The food at HP was very good!!! Service was just OK. Long time without seeing our server. When we did, she was pleasant. My problem with HP is the way it looks. On first arrival it doesn't look clean. Inside is in need of a REAL good cleaning and paint. I enjoy the food here but it just doesn't feel clean. Please close for a few days and clean the place really well!!!!! We don't take visitors there for this reason.

We got a recommendation from a local and decided to go for it! Good setting, but.....the restaurant is dirty, we both ordered shrimp grilled and deep fried. The grilled was so tuff, if bigger, we would have needed a knife! The portions were small. The only good thing was the draft beer!

Divebar-ish atmosphere which is cool sometimes. This is one of those times. We sat at the bar with some brews and a giant platter of fresh caught raw oysters and they were amazing. Our bartender was very friendly and attentive. Next time im in St Augustine I'll be sure to drop by again.

The food is never consistent. I have been served raw wings twice. The service is horrible and if you eat outside , you will have to wait a long time to get waited on. May as well get your drinks at the bar. The manager who now manages the place is rude and is not fit for her job at all!! I used to go here often but the place has gone down hill fast!! I will never go back here to eat again.

So while visiting st Augustine I found this place on yelp and a friend of mine says she had been here once before. So glad we decided to stop here. I was traveling with my family of kids including a 6 week old baby. The atmosphere was appealing to both families and bar goers which I liked. The food was good. Best conch fritters I have had in a long time, loaded with conch and served fresh out the oil. My friend had the endless shrimp and they served a boatload at a time and again extremely fresh. The service was ok, waitress could have been a bit more attentive but it was Saturday night with a bar full of people. Overall a nice spot and I would love to go back during the day.

Had not been for some time so we decided to go back. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The beer tasted "off". I mentioned this to the bartender and another was promptly served. Later, I saw why. I six year old child went to the sink and started washing glasses. The bartender accepted the glasses and placed them on the shelf and in the fridge to be used. Later two more showed up behind the bar. These could have been twins maybe three or four. I observed the bartender who was obviously their mother, wipe a baby nose and continue serving. All three were now behind the bar. I told my wife that I would speak to the Manager. She told me not to bother because the other person behind the bar was the manager. He introduced himself as Mike. I have never! I am simply at a loss for words. SM

Not much to look at but the food is fantastic. Had the " Fish Fry for Some". Fed two extremely healthy appetites. And easy on the budget. Staff is engaging and knowledgeable about their menu. Will go out of my way when in Florida to experience this restaurant again.

Since the new management took over things are just not the same as before. We had lunch today and it took a long time to get our order. I had a friends who's family owned restaurants say "if you go into a place and the tables are not bussed LEAVE " - we should have left. When our food finally arrived it was OK. Restroom was clean but had some issues. There are too many good restaurants in town - don't think we will come back. It's too bad this was one of our favorite places.

Any place that has a seafood platter that your order options are "for a few", "for some", and "for many" is great in my book! Me and my husband split the "for a few" and haven't finished it yet in about six attempts! For $30 it's a steal! But be warned-the hurricanes come in categories and don't try a Cat 5 if you're driving!

I've eaten here several times each summer while down here on vacation. Up until this summer, I would have given it 5 Stars, hands down. Came in the other day to discover the menu had changed. No big deal, I thought, the food is always good. Apparently, there is new management or a new owner who has decided to cut portions drastically. The food was still good, which is why they still get 3 stars, but the seafood platter that they claimed would easily feed three adults would barely satisfy one. And that was ordering the bigger platter. Not sure what changes were made here, but it's sad to see such a great place getting so stingy with their customers.

Food was ok and service was good but the dining area seemed a bit dirty and there were flies up against the glass near our booth Worst though was we had purchased a double-take coupon and were told the new owner was not honoring coupons. Will not be back

First time here. Was looking for a place to eat oysters. Went here because of the positive reviews. Meh! First off, no dozen oysters even though they are on the menu. Only by the bucket that you have to shuck. At almost $30 bucket I didn't feel like working for my dinner tonight. Live soloist guitar was too loud for the place. Decent music just turn the amp down. Patrons had to yell to converse. There happened to be a table of signers and I was wishing i was one of them so I didn't have to hear the noise. Food was good. We shared the tuna dip, calamari and she crab soup. Boys had kids cheeseburgers. They said good and cheesy! The calamari was a little stringy and not sure what the dipping sauce was. The down side was the service. Not all the food got delivered and we had to track our waiter down and ask. Was waiting for him to come check on us but never did so we had to ask. Had to ask for another beer which he never brought even though we could see it in the bar window so we just asked for the check. With a headache from the noise level I was just ready to leave. With no oysters. :-(

Great place! This place is the definition of a whole in the wall in my book. I would have never known about it if it weren't for Yelp. It is crawling with locals which to me is a good sign. Our waitress was very kind and attentive with drinks and food. I ended up getting the Mahi sandwich which was very good! Great flavor, however, I do wish the tomatoes were a bit more ripe. Overall, good portions and reasonable prices! Also, the key lime pie is fantastic! I will definitely come back on my next trip to St. Augustine!

I was soooo disappointed in this place. We've been here before and I loved the Shrimp Po' Boy Sandwich, they no longer have that on the menu. I had the French Onion Soup and was not good. I also had the Shrimp Tacos that didn't taste like anything. They had three little shrimp in each taco. I wouldn't go back !!

Off the beaten path, seemed like a place for locals. Ordered the blackened seafood platter, which was delicious. Loved the shrimps and scallops. Definitely recommend the conch fritters as a side! Our servers were so friendly and helped us plan our trip in St. Aug. Oh and we got bloody Mary's that had a crawfish in them!

Never again! Went there often for several years. One TERRIBLE experience turned us off. But went back yesterday (12/14/14) because spouse wanted oysters for our anniversary. Contrary to the menu, we were told they sell them only by the bucket now, and the price is expensive (all the more reason to sell a dozen!). So we ordered a glass of wine and a dozen, 6 and 6, shellfish appetizers (which they DO sell individually). And we ordered entrees at the same time. Two other waitresses were more attentive than our alleged one. One brought us another round, as we waited and waited. Finally here came the entrees; waitress seemed to feign surprise that our appetizers had not been delivered (our waitress?), then returned to blame it on a snafu between placing and cooking the order. We had arrived at 2:57 pm. The bill showed the first two glasses of wine were much more expensive than the second round. The manager (maybe) came out with an attitude and told us that we placed them before 3pm, which is impossible. He's going by the time on the ticket, which was before we even GOT there. Sad to say, the entrees were good; but by that time I had lost my appetite, snd my wife was upset. As we left, our (?) waitress said "try us again". I replied "Never". New management, new menus, new prices, old problems. St Augustine has great seafood restaurants. Try a different one.

Upon a visit to St. Augustine, and after a disappointing stroll through tourist central to find food options, we finally asked a local where to go for oysters and seafood. Big thanks to that lady, as this place was as good as it gets. For a grand total of $55, the four of us split: a dozen oysters, crab cakes, crab-artichoke dip (Sooooo good!!!), fried calamari, two bowls of clam chowder, and a crab-stuffed shrimp dish (yum!!!!!) that came with hushpuppies and cheesy grits, a glass of Riesling, and a hot drink made with honey liquor. Yes, that's right, I said a total of $55! Our server, (Riley???), did a great job and the manager, Lisa (who we initially thought was THE Patty herself), brought real Southern charm to the experience. This place is not fancy, and it would not be the same great experience if it were. If you are visiting St Augustine, this place is a must.

I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday night. It was a bit noisy outside, but perfect inside. They had a band playing, great ambiance, our waitress was friendly and timely even though they were super busy. The food was fantastic; I will definitely recommend this place to friends :)

Good steamed shrimp. no... great steamed shrimp. fresh catch wrap - best thing on the menu. burgers are very good, and reasonably priced.
(5)April B.

(5)Annie L.

Heaven.
(5)Jacquie N.

(1)Daniel P.
(3)Monica D.
(4)Lynne S.
(1)Matt C.

(5)Dave M.
(3)Lisa M.
Seafood is pretty good, service is really slow (understaffed?) although they were very nice. I had greens and grits with mine and they were nothing special. It was just okay, I wouldn't make an effort to return. Lots of flies outside.
(2)Linda W.

Awesome!

Best seafood ever Super friendly staff
(5)Josef W.

All great!
(4)Alan S.
(2)Heather S.
(4)Amanda W.
(4)steve b.
(5)Peter M.
(4)Melissa M.

(3)S S.
We held our sons graduation party here with about 40 guests. The management and staff were wonderful. They handled our crazy group kids, teens and adults really well we couldn't have wanted more. The food was above average for fish camp style and the prices are very reasonable.
(4)Ross W.
(4)Ruth M.
Go.
(4)Paul C.
(4)Jon R.
(4)Bill M.
(4)Ryan B.
The gator burger was great and the hurricane drink was good. The staff was great in recommending food and drinks that are very local and very unique to the place.
(5)Pam T.
(4)Scott F.
Augustine.
(4)Ashley E.
(3)John E.
Great location with good food at a decent price. Would have given five stars if the outdoor seating was nonsmoking. A little off the beaten path but worth the effort to find it.
(4)Kaylin R.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly service. Soups were a highlight, mahi mahi was a little overrated, and the platters are perfect to split. Overall food was great and reasonably priced.
(4)Kat T.
(4)Matthew C.
What more can you say?....the food was great and the beer cold , the shrimp outstanding and I have never had a better boiled dinner ! We are locals and this is the best of St auggie, period. This place rocks
(5)Diana M.
(4)Alenna B.
(4)C David S.
(4)Patrick L.
Nice place.
(2)AG A.
You can't beat the great view and the food is amazing! We had the raw oysters, peel and eat shrimp (big shrimps by the way) and Gator tail. Service was friendly and helpful. This place is a must try when in St Augustine!!!
(5)Zen T.
(4)Michelle B.
(5)Rickey B.
(2)Justin K.
(1)Bryan W.
Came here on steak night and sat out and enjoyed our dinner. Service was really good! The place is hidden so not crowded with tourist! Only problem is a dozen oysters was an outrageous price, but everything besides that was great!
(3)Leah A.
Locals! Love HP!
(5)Faith B.
Great layed back atmosphere. .on water next to marina-don't let outside fool you-music-good food-casual -great place to ride bike to & hang out! Under new management-GOTTA HAVE KEY LIME PIE!
(4)Donita H.
A hidden surprise! We were at HPs on Saturday evening! Great turn out of business and we enjoyed oysters, scallope, shrimp, Mahi one landlubber enjoyed the chicken Alfredo! Thanks for a great meal...we will be returning for sure
(4)Charlie M.
(4)Stephanie M.
(2)Jordan O.
(4)Amy B.
Excellent service and the food was fabulous! We highly recommend the Low Country Boil! If we are ever back in St. Augustine, we will definitely be back!
(5)Sara B.
If want insanely meaty oysters come to this local hangout on the marina my friend actually found a pearl in one on our visit!! It usually has some great live music inside as well...wont disappoint!
(4)Nicole B.
(4)Edward J.
(1)Matthew P.
If management would do a revamp of their staff this restaurant could be a great place to go. However as it is right now the staff is rude and the food is awesome so pick your poison. I had the seared ahi tuna and it was amazing!!! Just wish the staff was more friendly. Maybe a training class on customer service is needed.
(3)Christie R.
Amazing service and the food was amazing. We were with a group of 16. Most had the AUCE crab legs and shrimp. It was fabulous. The food was hot and they kept refills coming very quickly.
(5)Lina R.
(5)Ross M.
(5)Kecia M.
Great buffalo shrimp. Fresh shrimp in light crispy batter drizzled with special creamy buffalo sauce. Cold beer. Good wings also. Cool local hangout on the marina.
(5)Adam M.
(1)Tracey T.
(5)Heather T.
(4)Marshall F.
I got a burger was fantastic had that great grill taste one of the best I have ever had!
(5)michael g.

This business is highly recommended, but ensure you have a thorough discussion with the server as to what is and isn't applicable for happy hour.

this is a typical fried seafood place in a marina. the food is good and the prices are good as well. a very busy spot full of families.

Oh come on folks. This is a great little place full of the charm you'd expect from lovely St. Augustine. Great service and the food was excellent. Great ambience too! Love the place and my Barbie and I shall return.

I moved nearby and found this place to be a real"jewel in the rough " situated across the river from the downtown area it's close enough for visitors to put it on their "must" list

Beware they no longer take coupons on double take deals. I guess they're under new management and she refuses to accept them. I'm out 30 bucks

Loved the atmosphere here! Had an amazing Cajun Bloody Mary for starters and delicious fish tacos for my meal. Highly recommend and we will be back the next time we're in town!

Food was good, staff was very accommodating and amusing. Local music was great, very relaxed fun atmosphere.
