I really enjoy this restaurant. I work in Ybor City, so folks often ask me where the best Cuban food in Ybor is--I tell them Ruskin! The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the ambiance is pretty nice for a rural area of south Hillsborough. Took my dad here for Father's Day, along with my nephew. We were seated quickly and the server was prompt, friendly, and courteous. We ordered a basket of mini deviled crabs, which came out hot and tasty! They didn't last long! I had the lechon asado (Cuban roast pork) with plantains and yucca. They serve a very generous portion of pork in mojo which I really shouldn't have eaten all of, but it's so good I couldn't stop! The plantains are served sweet (I know them as maduros), just like I like them, and they make a great pair with the garlic and tangy orange mojo of the pork. My dad had a salad and the soup of the day, which he raved over. They also serve Cuban bread and butter mashed with olives, which I can't seem to resist either. The owner came by and checked on us to be sure we were happy, which we definitely were. Since none of us had room for dessert, we topped the meal off with cafe con leche, which I could sip on all day. Too bad, as they had tres leches, which I love. I'll have to go back to try it sometime.

My husband and I are new to the area, and were invited to go to this restaurant along with a group of 10 others. We ordered the grouper sandwich, and it was wonderful, served with freshly made potato chips. Others ordered the Cuban sandwich and enjoyed it, and several enjoyed the sangria which was excellent. It certainly didn't taste "watered down" as suggested by another reviewer. Most of all, kudos to our server, Amber, who was probably one of the best servers I've ever had, especially given the size of our group. She was so helpful and efficient, and knew the menu inside-out.

Stopped in for lunch.we had the lechon asada, grouper sandwich and the bowl special with beef. All 5 star. The chardonnay was deliciously cold and the side salad filled with crisp greens and a killer balsamic blue cheese vinaigrette. For dessert the flan and bread pudding again borh 5 stars. Clean nice atmosphere and a wonderful waitress named Brittany. This is truly a little gem.

Very good food. The service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Not sure what happened with the first, one star reviewers experience but mine was stellar. Fastest service I've ever, ever had at any restaurant. Ingredients in my salad were fresh, the meat perfectly seasoned. My hubby had the stuffed potato ball and black brand with yellow rice, which was also spot on. I'm from Puerto Rico and this place gets my seal of approval. I like the new digs (a renovated bank) much better than the old place. The original hardwood floors with brass nails, plus the black and white pics and wall art made of coat boxes, brings a touch of rustic to the otherwise modern building. Warm decor and nice seating arrangement fits a good amount of people without feeling crowded. We'll definitely be back. Gracias!

They moved, along with the nicer dining setting, and nice pot hole free parking is a large price hike in the same semi-small portions and hard as rock potato chips instead of a side of fries. If you ask for fries, an additional $2.00 fee is added to an already over priced meal. Do yourself a favor and go to La Septema where Causeway turns to Lumsden. Don't worry the staff will be a mixture of snobs and friendly servers just like at the Ybor Grille. At least at La Septima, the food will taste better and the prices lower. No Gawd awful chips! When they changed their location, they should have changed the name to Ruskin Grille. This dive is nothing like an Ybor City eatery, not even close.

As always a great local eatery that's been around for years finally found themselves in the perfect location! Now offering outdoor seating as well as a full bar! My favorites the olive butter, guava cheesecake, Cuban sandwiches, or deep fried house chips, & Yucca. Since moving to the new location there is a small increase in prices, i'm pretty much stuck on my favorite dish which is the sirloin I always get a salad with the house creamy herb dressing & and I switch up the other side between yellow rice, Spanish beans, yucca, plantains, or a even soup now a favorite!

I really like this place. Has a great vibe, my wife and I stopped in for lunch and each had the Cuban sandwhich with soup. I thought the food and service were excellent. I travel for a living so I eat out a lot. I 'M pretty selective when it comes to eateries. I like this place

I went tonight to scout for a company dinner. A bit disappointed in the service. The food was ok, but not stellar. The customer doesn't seem to be important. Extra charge if you share and the Cuban coffee..well it isn't coffee. I guess I can't have a company function as they don't take Amex which happens to be my corporate card. I wonder how many customers they loose because they don't take Amex.... not a smart business decision! The place was almost empty tonight. Even the Taco Bus takes Amex.

This restaurant has a very nice set up. However, the food is less than desirable, pricing is relatively higher, the background music was not Cuban and the restaurant was loud overall. The claim is that this is Cuban food, but it falls way short. I had the "Taste of Ybor" dish which has pulled pork, chopped beef and ropa vieja. The food had no taste, it was luke warm and they ran out of the two most authentic Cuban sides (Yuca, Morro). I also had 1 glass of Sangria, and it was bad, to say the least. I woke up with heartburn and a headache. Go to Little Habana Cafe on Big Bend, near 301.

I have had the pork roast sandwich with mojo and it was awesome. I am also a high fan of the devil crabs! Must go!

Small portions.... too over priced, taste was OK, I've had better authentic tasting Spanish food from a taco truck.

Me and my wife live in the area and have heard about Ybor Grille from reviewers on Yelp,FB,Google etc. We decided to try it out tonight and were very unimpressed. The menu is small and a bit pricey ( i can understand a price hike for the new location and changes) We both had the Pollo Vallencia which was very underwhelming in taste. Me and my wife are Cuban and we could've easily made this dish and not pay 15 dollars. They need to change the price range to over 10 dollars. Everything tasted artificial, they took Goya tomato sauce some Goya saffron, and white cooking wine and just made the dish. I will say the server was very attentive and polite, the flan was the only saving grace. My wife said she would only come back for the flan. If you want real Cuban food head over to Little Habana on 301 and Big Bend instead.

The owners definitely have a passion for food & it shows.... Or tastes I should say :) it's like stepping out of Ruskin and into Ybor for a few hours. This is a great place to bring out of town guests without the trip to Tampa. I have loved the food here & other location so much I avidly use them for catering and have received many compliments from friends when using them. 5 stars plus!!!!
