Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
It's been years since I ate here and I popped in for a late night snack and some cocktails with some long time friends of mine. There was approximately a group of 20 people and the restaurant was very accommodating with sitting us all together. Luckily, it was at 9 p.m. and most of the dinner crowd was on its way out for the night owls to take their place. They have karaoke on Friday nights, so it's a chance to get your sing on buzzed or not. The half off appetizers are great for doubling up on and sharing from 10 p.m. to close. I got the pot stickers and a friend of mine got soft pretzels with cheese with crunchy onion rings. The items that were left over were finished off by the others that were sitting around us. There is a full bar and happy hour all day everyday, so pineapple and vodka and Bahama Mama cocktails were my beverages during the course. All of them were exceptionally good. The server was on her toes the entire night helping us and making sure all of us were happy with our food and drinks. The tables were kept clean and it was added entertainment with the karaoke. Some joined, some didn't, and I wasn't a party pooper. Whether it was "Friends in Low Places" or "Summer Nights", it was a very interesting evening.

Delicious. I could tell they have a new menu and it's for the better because the food was great. I'm only getting rid of the fifth star because my steak was a tad chewy. Other than the steak being chewy, the flavor of everything was great! Their new bbq Siracha shrimp was AMAZINGLY! So amazing that we ordered a second round of them to pig out on! I highly recommend ordering of you're a Siracha fan! I ordered the Peppered Sirloin with Whole Grains, and my boyfriend ordered the Bourbon Chicken.

We don't eat here expecting gourmet food. We come for bugers, salads, and basic fare. We got what we came for and were pleased. 4 of us had burgers, which were pretty good. Typical fries. I ordered a baked potato instead of fries and it was very good. Big, hot, cooked perfectly. One of us got chicken fajitas and was pleased with it. The server was excellent.

If you keep it in perspective, this is a great value. Food is tasty and well presented. Price is very reasonable. This is not a Michelin three star restaurant. This is not fine dining. But, this is very good food at a decent price. I'm not a tequila drinker, but their "Perfect Margarita" made with reposado is excellent. $9 for a drink that would easily cost double that at a hotel or fine dining establishment. They use freshly squeezed lime juice and that makes a world of difference. An olive for garnish is not typical, but goes perfect.

I'm honestly not a fan of Applebee's but I went this evening because I had a gift card. The food was exactly how I expected it to be.. mediocre. I ordered the Napa Chicken and Portobellos. It wasn't that enjoyable, and I had to spit out a chunk of it in my napkin as I bit off a piece that was hard to chew.. yuck. I was able to finish the dish though which means it wasn't too bad.. or I was just very hungry. This is my first time at this location. I'm rating it a 3 instead of a 2 because I've had better dishes at Applebee's (other locations) before. Although the food at Applebee's is not fabulous in general (in my humble opinion), I think this dish I ordered just happened to be at the lower end of the scale. Had a good waitress though.

I came here to meet a group of friends for some drinks and food. I wasn't expecting very good food, but I'd seen a few ads for some of there new pub plates and thought I'd give them a try instead of the usual burger fare. I got a combo of 3: boneless wings, kobe style meatballs, and rib things (I'm sure that's not their proper name - but more on that in a sec). The wings were okay, nothing great. Had better, had worse. The meatballs would have been fine except they seemed to be a little short of meat, kobe style or otherwise. Basically bread with meat flavoring. I'm not sure what animal the ribs were from. They sliced them strangely so you get flat pieces of bone and it's impossible to tell what is meat and what is bone until you bite into it. But fine - I wasn't shocked about the food. What was worse was the service. The bartender seemed overwhelmed or just didn't care, probably a combination of the two. It was an ordeal to get a drink. You had to ask repeatedly. The manager was at the bar a few times but had blinders on. The only redeeming factor is that it isn't expensive. But between barely passable food and horrible service, there are much better options.

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain.
