Stopped by this new BBQ spot for lunch. This is a order at the counter and seat yourself establishment. No worries its easy. The staff here is very friendly and took my order. I ordered the pulled pork lunch special. I was told to grab a drink and take a seat. My food was delivered quite quickly but it was a pulled pork sandwich not the plate. No biggy I gave the mac n cheese a taste. Not bad, pretty good, just a bit to much pepper. The sandwich paired with their sweet sauce was good too. The pork was tasty and tender but the bun was simply standard. The sauce (not sure if its made in house or not) was good and well balanced between sweet and smokey. A good place for BBQ Id say.

Went there for the first time and I had the brisket. It wasn't dry like some places I've been nearby. For a typical person, if you order something there is likely to be enough to take home left overs.

Pretty rough place. You order at a counter like a food court. Pulled pork was bland and tastes like eating smoke. Sauces were runny and I didn't care for any of them. Overpriced for what it was. Do yourself a favor and go to Sonnys.

This is a good BBQ place I would say 3.5 if I could. There are several others in the area. Some things are better than others. I am big on small business, so avoid bob evans and chain bbq. Prices are decent, you get a good amount of food for the money. If someone leaves a bad review look at their reviews as a whole. One person said this was a "2." Every business in Rockledge was downgraded by them, but Melbourne business' rock.

Sure the prices are a little higher than the chain BBQ place a few miles away and the franchised place just up the road, but this place is run by the owner and the food is reminiscent of a good, backyard bbq party. Everything tastes homemade and is great. The tri-tip is out of this world and way better than many of the other bbq places I've tried. Their macaroni salad is incredible, yet simple. So good that we've brought a quart of it to a potluck event recently. This is a new place, so it's expected that they will have "growing pains" and hiccups at first. Been there 5 times since they opened and was personally greeted by Dave (owner) 3 of those visits. It's obvious he is in it for the long haul and cares about making things right. If you have a suggestion, just tell him or send him a Facebook message. He was even proud to show off his smoker out back when I asked about his set up. For those who complained about no bbq sauce being on the tables, Dave listened and now it's there. Yes, everything is served on paper/plastic, but that's what makes the meal more authentic and feel like a backyard bbq. If you must eat off the finest China and silver utensils, perhaps bbq isn't really your thing anyway.

Had the beef brisket and was very fatty and tasteless. The beans tasted like bushes out of the can and the coleslaw is too sweet. The menu is a bit pricey as well. Certainly not the best BBQ I've ever had. Will not return.

First times here and had the PorkZilla sandwich. Very large portion of delicious ingredients make this a sandwich I'll order again, and again!

Loved DDs BB Q. Super casual. We worked in yard and house all day and wanted easy quick no frills dinner. It was our first time and we will definitely return. The kids working we're so pleasant and efficient! We're 67 so I call them kids. The "egg rolls" were outstanding !! 3 large pork filled with other stuff yummy to say the least. A meal in themselves We each ordered a rack of baby back and took half home. Oh yes we loved the beans! Graciously gave us a sample. My only concern, since I am an avid recycler was the waste generated by plastic and styrofoam cups I would gladly scrape plate into waste and drop into a recycle can! Think about it please. We loved it get those egg rolls for sure Oh I almost forgot the fries were the BEST!! Hot crispy and seasoned!

Let's be honest, Florida is not know for their barbecue. However, I was pleasantly surprised about Double D's. The food is that of all good barbecue joints of the south: slow cooked and flavorful. The food and restaurant remind me of eating at a good old hidden gem of a roadside BBQ joint off some dirt road. My husband and I have eaten here twice now. The ordering process is quite easy. The owners are quite nice as well. If you eat in, they will bring the food out to your table. My husband keeps ordering the specialty sandwiches. Each time, they keep getting better and better. I am more of pulled pork or straight brisket kind of person. The pulled pork is probably one of the best that I've had in Brevard County in years. Double D's makes their own sauces, sticky icky being my current favorite for its slight sweetness. The mustard one is also very good. They also make their own wickle pickles, which I haven't had a chance to try, but they do look very delicious. If you get a chance, try their collard greens. They're not my grandma's, but they're some of the best I've had at a restaurant in Florida.

In a word, disappointing. I had seen positive reviews on Yelp and Facebook, so I was excited to try a new BBQ place. I will say, the BBQ chicken did have a smoky flavor. However, it was dry enough that I had to keep adding sauce to eat the sandwich, and the macaroni and cheese was extremely bland. Half of the people in our group didn't eat more than a bite of the macaroni & cheese. How about some basic salt and pepper, at least? I *much* prefer the BBQ (and awesome macaroni & cheese) at the roadside JJ's Rib Shack nearby on US1. Unfortunately, that's just a walk-up stand, so you have to take your food elsewhere to eat it.

Being from Texas and also being a pretty fair pitmaster myself, my expectations of Florida BBQ are not high. My wife and I stopped by for lunch and had a great time and decent BBQ. Dave is committed to making this place work and it is evident in his attitude when talking to patrons and answering questions. We ordered a pound of Pulled Pork, Pound of Tri-Tip and a slab of the St. Louis Ribs. I really like brisquet but it was not on the menu. The Tri-Tip was really good. Kinda like having smoked prime rib;). The Pulled Pork was dry but had a good smoked flavor and Dave's rub is good. He has three sauces available on the table (Southern Sweet, Sticky Icky(?), and Carolina Mustard...I may have the names off a little). Anyway, we combined the Sticky and Carolina and dipped the fork fulls of pork in it. Really good. I am more used to the really moist Carolina Styled Pulled Pork with Cider Vinegar but this was pretty good once the sauce is involved. The Ribs were the best of them all. Dave's rub for the ribs is a little different then the typical paprika, cumin and brown sugar variety. His rub has a really good flavor with a nice aftertaste. Really good! I like this place and will be back. Dave said he is hoping to add homemade sausage to the menu so can't wait for that. Come on by and give Dave your business. I really want this place to survive and thrive.

Impressive family friendly and casual BBQ spot. Had a sampling of the fabulous tri-tip...which was cooked to perfection, smoke ring and all. The burnt ends were another crowd pleaser, the flavor both unique and delicious. Looking forward to returning to sample Double D's various other BBQ concoctions!

Got there late 8:50ish. My wife and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich dinner and a half rack of St. Louis style ribs; our sides were cole slaw and potato salad on both meals. Both were great! The portions were big and we ate them for lunch the next day. I will be a regular from here on out!!

Thanks to a friend of mine who lives out in Coco I was introduced to double D's BBQ today. It's in a very unassuming location you would never know it's there but my God does the food exceed the decor of the location. My friend and I order the Pork 3 Ways platter which had the pork tenderloin, pulled pork and pork ribs all of them were season excellently. the pork tenderloin was extremely juicy. These platters came with 2 sides. I got sweet potato fries and macaroni and cheese my friend got the baked beans and macaroni and cheese. The baked beans are a Must Have!!!! the closest way to describe it is as a barbecued bean stew. It's absolutely amazing!!!! We also tried this tri tip beef which was succulent and absolutely juicy and delicious!!! If you're ever in Rockledge and you're in the mood for barbecue definitely look Double D's BBQ you will not be disappointed!!!!

Real good ribs and the "Sticky Icky" sauce was amazing. I also had the cole slaw and the corn on the cob, both good as well. The corn bread was good, but a little plain. The pick-up service was quick and easy and I would definitely stop back in!

The meat here is fantastic. The portions are reasonable, as are the prices. I think the smoked chicken breast salad was an interesting combo. My biggest problems are the sides and the staff. We went once for lunch and once for dinner. The ladies during the day were nice and friendly. The young girl who "helped" us for dinner, not so much. She didn't know what she was doing and didn't speak to us. The Mac and cheese was not great. It was extremely bland, and a bit dry. The sauce was grainy. Extra sharp white cheddar would fix most of this, along with a little more care in whisking the cheese sauce together. The baked beans are awful if baked beans are actually what you want. This is more like a bean soup. It's good on its own, if bean soup is what you want, but these are NOT the kind of baked beans that go with BBQ. The coleslaw was just ok, but served WAY too cold. I wish the sauces were just available on the table to try, instead of just getting a portion cup of ONE at the counter. The fried pickles were WONDERFUL. Crispy, hot, just right. The pulled pork had great flavor, and so did the smoked chicken and the sliced beef. I like the concept, and I love the meats. The sides and the service need work.

Wow, never though I would say that I did not enjoy BBQ because I love most all things BBQ but Double D's missed the mark on so many levels. I just hope they work it because I like to see local businesses succeed. First They have specialty sandwiches that they offer. Mine was a one pound pulled pork sandwich with pickles for $12.95 comes with no sides so I ordered the Mac & Cheese for a few bucks more. The sandwich was not even a 1/2 pound let alone a full pound, extremely dry like it was days old and get this, you get a small ramekin of BBQ sauce and just one. Gotta pay for another to drown out the dry pork. Not good. The mac and cheese had zero point zero taste so I asked to have something else, so I took some fries. Cook comes out and asks me what's wrong with the mac and cheese? I told him and he said that was the style. I said ok. If no taste is your style then I guess It's not my style. No napkins on the tables, no BBQ sauce, salt, pepper, ketchup or anything. I felt like I was in Taco Bell. I think this was the 1st time I did not like BBQ.

I've been by this restaurant several times and have never seen anyone actually eating in there. I figured today I would go check it out and hopefully find a good BBQ place that I could tell everyone about. I was expecting a sit down style restaurant, but was more reminded of a food truck or cafeteria. I absolutely love brisket, so that's what I ordered, along with macaroni and cheese and fries. When it arrived it looked pretty promising. Everything looked home made. The only thing that was good was the garlic bread. Lots of flavor and seasoning. Macaroni and cheese- the noodles were way over cooked and it had no flavor at all. Just tasted like I was eating noodles. Fries-not very seasoned but crispy Brisket- This brisket made me want to cry. I received 3 pretty hefty slices, but every single one of them was tough/gristle-y/chewy. The meat did have a good flavor but this was literally the toughest brisket I've ever had to eat. I'm used to a good brisket falling apart when I take my fork to it. I was also only able to eat about half of the meat because the rest was just solid fat. I do have to say that their homemade bbq was pretty good. Tried the sweet sauce.

We went on a Friday evening, and there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant. A few people came in to get take out orders, but didn't seem like a very busy place. We placed our order at the register, and the program they use for credit cards prompts you to leave a tip, even before anyone brings you any food, which we thought was odd. Our appetizer and meals came out at the same time, which was nice that the meals came out so fast, but we enjoy not being rushed to eat both things while they're fresh and hot and would have preferred to get the appetizer before the meal. I have mixed feelings on the fried pickle appetizer - the batter and sauce they were served with were both really good, but we couldn't taste the actual pickle, so it was like eating fried batter with sauce. I ordered the pulled pork dinner with mac 'n cheese and potato salad, which also came with a piece of garlic bread. The pulled pork was really good. The mac 'n cheese was more like buttered noodles - hardly any cheese on the noodles, so that was disappointing. Potato salad was under seasoned, but definitely not bad, and no complaints about the garlic bread. Also got the brisket dinner with collard greens, friend okra, and garlic bread. The fried okra was average, nothing special, but tasted good. We were both big fans of the collard greens - much better than we've had at other restaurants in the area. We were disappointed in the brisket - it had ok flavor, but was severely overcooked. Even smothering it in bbq sauce didn't soften it up. Both bbq sauces offered had good flavor, but I've never been a fan of the mustard bbq sauce, so my opinion of theirs won't mean much. Their traditional red sauce was a typical sauce - not too spicy and not too sweet with good flavor. Their sweet tea was average - good base flavor, but not the typical Southern sweet tea I would expect from a bbq place (a lot of people don't like super sweet tea and this tea would be perfect, I just thought it was worth mentioning). Everything was served on paper plates with plastic utensils, which is what I expect from non-chain bbq restaurants. Staff was friendly and restaurant appeared very clean. Overall, it was an ok experience - nothing amazing, but also nothing bad. We realize this is a relatively new establishment, so we would definitely go back and try it again.

Sorry, but this place will not last 6 months! It's horrible! We had a party of 6 and not one person liked their food. DRY, DRY, DRY - no sauce could make it better (and the sauces were boring anyway)! I got sliced turkey that was not sliced, it was pulled and had NO flavor! Presentation was boring (no greens, boring flavorless bun), no atmosphere and way too expensive! Don't waste your time (or money).

This is like a take out restaurant where you eat in a cafeteria like room ! Paper plates, plastic forks and food not so great ! Went down the road to another new place the other night and it was excellent . No atmosphere here and no drinks either.. Not one of my favorites,,

Decor is bad, looks like they had $50 left to make a dining room with,BUT the food is great. People are very nice. Some things could have been hotter when they came out but was very impressed with the BBQ. Fried zucchini is also good. Will be back. Can overlook uncomfortable and ugly chairs for BBQ this good !
