My husband and I love going to Ashley's, good food, good atmosphere and great price. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Visiting the area we stopped in. They had a special with a Mahi sandwich. My husband ordered it and they had already run out. There was barely anyone there. He settled for the French Dip that was "ok" he said. We tried the Jalapeno poppers.....they don't know how to do those. They were fairly pathetic. I had the fish tacos. The fish was good but there was little else in the tortilla. But the beer was cold! I would not go back.

We really like going to Ashley's. They have early bird specials for $10 before 6pm every day, you just can't beat the value of getting a full meal, salad, rolls for $10 these days. There is entertainment a few nights a week here, and the music isn't too loud. Showing my age here I know...A good selection of meals here including dinner salads, burgers, yellow snapper, prime rib, chicken Parmesan, with a full bar, all at reasonable prices. It's an older building, from the 30's I believe, high ceiling on the 2nd floor, quite peaceful with dimmer lighting, but that occasional large group may make it a bit loud, but it's a tavern after-all. People out having a good time.

Its good! I like 3 stars is the perfect rating...its a nice quaint looking exterior, same for the interior. Could use a little modernization. The food of what I have had has always been good. I had french onion soup, I wouldn't rave about it nor would I send it back. My favorite order is the Chelsea a grilled chicken breast with shaved ham and swiss...its a hearty sandwich and the grilled chicken breast is awesome. The service I am super confused about. I think its good service. I mean she sat us quickly and she got orders quickly, and occasionally she made funny remarks, then other times she came across bothered and annoyed. Its almost like she was having a bad day and trying to put on "work face". I guess I applaud her for that, we all have bad days and still have to go in and earn a living, but she won't be winning an Oscars with that acting performance. She was competent just didn't give us amazing warm and fuzzy service. That seems to be the case most times we go there with the service. So that sums it up Ashleys is a good restaurant with competent yet not amazing service. :) Oh and yeah its supposed to be haunted.

I've been to Ashley's several times and the place never disappoints. The food is good, but a little overpriced - the main reason for only three stars rather than four. The least time I was there we went in a group of four. I had the Bourbon Glazed Salmon - a little too much on the glaze but it showed up with a big slab of salmon. The wife had their Honey Fried Chicken which she found moist and well made. Drinks were varied and they had huge selection on beers. The wait staff was friendly and well trained - not only on waiting but giving out scary stories on the happenings in the place. We didn't have dessert but from they had a good selection to choose from. Overall, it's a great place to eat, has great quaint ambiance, and the ghost stories are all good.
(3)Lori H.
My husband proposed to me here 30 years ago so the little place holds a special place in my heart. We used to check the kids out of school on Friday the 13th's so they could look for ghost while they ate lunch. But I have to say the food quality is not what it used to be. We try to go once a year to see if they have a new chef but so no such luck. Maybe next year :(
(3)Mark C.
Nice local place located in an old train station. Good place for sandwiches and soup. Entrees are ok.
(3)P S.
What can be better than Shrimp and Grits? Shrimp and Grits over Sirloin Steak. Yum!!! Good service. Fresh baked rolls and yummy food. The interior set up is a bit tight but the food makes up for it. Come hungry because the food is worth the wait.
(5)Kathleen B.
Horribly INCONSISTENT, I'm done. I have been to this place 5 times and every time with varying results. Yesterdays mixed bag was the straw that broke the camels back. Had thee best little fillet, but the fake crab on the top was a joke. Had "spot on" buffalo shrimp, but my friends Blackened Salmon was bland and not blackened. The rice pilaf was ....well rice, also bland and nothing special (the amount served was laughable...maybe 1/2 cup...hey when you are serving 4 oz of meat feel free to dump the cheap rice to the plate). I must say that our server was lovely, however it is FOOD that brings customers back. $70.00 dinner (with sizable tip), just not worth it. Moving on to the next best thing.
(3)John K.
Must try the bourbon salmon served everyday , or if youre there on a wednesday get the steak special. YUM!!!
(5)Patrick M.
Hmm, I would really like to say I enjoyed my time at this establishment, but to be honest... It was a poor experience. Waiting staff was NOT friendly, service was poor, and the food was mediocre at best. I believe one of my party members enjoyed his sandwich, but the other four in our group, not so much. I will say that if you enjoy a good drink they have a full service bar, and if you like an interesting atmosphere that Ashley's of Rockledge definitely provides an awesome ambience, but for anything other than a drink I would have to say pass. Also, the place is a pain in the but to get into if there's quick traffic, so keep your peepers peeled if you do go.
(2)Don S.
Ashley's is a very nice place, great atmosphere, the food was lackluster though.
(3)Amber M.
Ashley's is a key attraction in this river-side town that is so sleepy that even Wal-Mart eventually shuttered its doors and vanished. Featured on occult-themed television shows and kitchy books about 'wierd' Florida, a visit to Ashley's offers the elusive chance at a close encounter with its paranormal inhabitants. And I say elusive deliberately, because I've spent hours loitering in the wood-beamed interior of the dining room and staring patiently into the bathroom mirror of the ladies room waiting for the choking sensation that (supposedly) occasionally haunts patrons. So far no luck. Situated just feet from the railroad tracks, the legend is that an Ethel Allen was either murdered in Ashley's bathrooom or killed on the railroad tracks and it's her mal-adjusted apparition throwing plates at bus boys in the kitchen. Four stars for good margarita's and yummy food, I may add a fifth if my paranormal pursuit ends with a close encounter when I'm home for the holidays.
(4)Jamie S.
The food is really nothing special. It's a fun place to check out just because of the ghost stories, although we've been twice & have yet to experience anything "unusual". I say, check it out once because of it's history & story, but I doubt you'd be too interested in going back again for the food. We haven't been...
(3)Debbie M.
Have visited 2 rime in the last few weeks, neither time was very good. Today my grandsons from Ohio came to visit and they are both interested in ghosts, so we went for lunch. They wanted to sit upstairs to be able t look down for shadows and have a fun lunch. However we were told it was already closed down. Not very politely either. It was only 12:45PM AND THEIR WERE PEOPLE UPSTAIRS EATING???!!! I even mentioned the reason for coming there for lunch, but the girl who seated us(who turned out to be our waitress) didn't care and sat us in what seemed to be a hall way with booths. Never again!!
(1)Gina B.
I haven't been here in a few years but I remember really liking this place. There are very few nicer places to eat on this lonely strip of US1. However, Ashley's is really a pretty good restaurant, despite the cheesy paranormal appeal. On the subject of ghosts, it's true. There is supposed to be a ghost that lives at Ashley's. I have heard the story many ways and I grew up in this area so I will tell you the most popular version of the story. Ashely's has a ghost. I heard one version of the story which said that the a women jumped onto the train tracks that are right behind the restaurant and was killed. Another version of the story says the place used to be a train stop which burnt down and killed several people and another was that the train stop was built over and Indian burial ground (which is actually quit common in this area). Either way, there is supposedly a women who haunts the women's bathroom. I have never been in it as I am terrified of ghosts. Many people also say they feel like they can't breathe when walking up the staircase and they feel as if they'r being choked..wooooo....spooky. Besides all that, the place is a really nice restaurant. It looks like something out of an old movie and has a charm that you expect to see more out west than in Florida. Very cool! wood beams and old lanterns make it seem like an old hunting lodge. As for the food, it's delicious. I enjoy the snow crabs. They are steamed perfectly but not at all wet. Just how they should be served. The sides are always hot and delicious. I really like this place, haunted or otherwise.
(4)Beth D.
always fun...consistantly good food...same with the staff...you can count on them to be friendly. I'm always up for Ashley's!
(4)Road Warrior D.
A fun place to eat! Good variety of American food at resonable prices. Friendly bar too. Beware of the ghosts.
(2)Jim D.
My wife and I decided to go there on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We got there after the morning and lunch time rush and before dinner, so it wasn't packed. The waitress greeted us and sat us down, gave us our menus. After a short period she came back and asked us about drinks. We ordered our usual, Margarita on the rocks and no salt for her and Long Island Iced Tea for me. She brought them out promptly and they were good. We ordered at that time, she had the fish tacos and I had the turkey sandwich and both of us got fries instead of the chips. They brought out the food in a timely fashion and was hot. Both dishes were good. The waitress was friendly and we joked about it being haunted. All and all, we had a pleasant dining experience. We'll go back again sometime.
(3)Dave N.
We have been going here for years food is always good as well as affordable and you can pass your time there watching for the ghosts
(4)Angie B.
I had not been for a while but I unfortunately decided to take my family here for Father's day this year. The waitress was very rude! When my dad asked about the specials she said "I have not had any time to look at them today". I understand she was probably busy but she did not even bother to check on them she just kept looking at my dad to hurry up and order. When asked about what sides they had she took the menu from my dad and pointed to the sides and said "There they are." I don't know if she was new or just had a rough day but I took my dad here for a Father's day present and it was an embarrassment!
(2)Jess M.
Their $2.99 breakfast special is amazing! Great atmosphere, kid friendly, good drink specials, good food.
(4)James L.
Really good burgers and lunch specials. Bathrooms are typical nasty "bar bathrooms." Decent portions at a fair price. Ashley's is one of our go-to places for lunch with or without the kids.
(4)Tony G.
The food here is mediocre at best . have been there twice and was not impressed. Overated.
(2)Jennifer T.
The place was neat, has a haunted reputation. We ordered burgers, which were decent, also ordered haddock fish fry and the fish was huge! Strawberry shortcake was awesome. The staff was friendly enough and the place was clean. They have an upstairs which was cool, as well as outside eating area. They can accommodate large groups upstairs. It is situated right next to a train track so you do get the occasional train going by. A decent place to eat but nothing spectacular.
(3)Chris B.
The food here is absolutely terrible. The ONLY two things I can think of that keep this place in business are 1. nostalgia and 2. ghost stories. Do not go here for a good meal, though.
(1)Jennifer R.
We waited at the door for a few minutes until we were greeted and then seated upstairs. There are lots of places to sit (outside, 1st floor, 2nd floor). I ordered the Cajun salmon special with mango salsa which came with 2 sides. When it came out, there was a sprinkle of salsa on top and some bad looking pieces of broccoli =( The fries were OK, more of a thick flat cut and a little greasy. My dad ordered the black and blue salad and said the sauce on the meat was a little too sweet. It could've also used a hair more blue cheese crumbles. My sister got the fish tacos which had an overpowering odd sauce. The food was not bad for the price but with the presentation and service, may not make this a stop my next time to Florida. Considering we were one of the only parties in the restaurant, it took awhile (25 minutes or so) for our food to come.
(2)Mark P.
Ashley ' s is one of our favorite restaurants in the Cocoa area. The food is good and inexpensive. We usually have the same server, Trish, and couldn't be happier. Ashleys has recently added Sunday breakfast. It's definitely worth a try for yourself.
(5)Candy F.
Ashley's was great! Staff was very nice and the food was even better. This maybe our new go to place!
(5)Angel C.
This used to be really good food, last two times I went made me decide not to go back. They still make some great salads but I used to go for their steak night on weds and the last two times they were not good at all, over maranaded so salty and weird texture. One in my party ordered it medium and got well done, waitress didn't come back to check on us.when she finally came instead of saying sorry, and offering to get her something else put the check on the table with a charge for the salad and fries per item so it was almost the same price as if she had eaten her steak, bad move, customers lost over such a simple thing.
(2)Mary R.
I got veins in my ribs. Big, thick arteries. I'm turned off from ribs for a long time. Our server was also one of the only times I'd ever seen a server be rude for no reason. I was appalled. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. She ran out of mini plates for the bread for our party, said "oh, that sucks," and never came back with more plates, made nasty comments when I didn't understand the special, and then everyone's food came out at different times.
(1)Danny O.
A big part of the 3 stars has to do with the looks of the place as well as the history. The lack of 5 stars is the service, it wasn't horrible but it could have been alot better. I stopped by here because I happened to be in town for a quick stop. I remembered this cool looking place with a history of it being haunted and thought, great place to stop and take my family. I had been here many times before because almost 8-9 years ago a company I worked for serviced this place and I was in here about twice a week. I never had the opportunity to sit down and eat however it was always business. It was funny to come back and be greeted by one of the owners (a lady) who I remembered from those years. I'm sure she didn't remember me now that I had grown out a beard that could compete with the best Muslim beards out there. Anyways, she gave me and my family a mini smile and helped us to our table. She seemed really occupied and it was maybe because she was working so hard to try and help out. However I do remember her from back in the day and she was never a friendly person to me, even though she would see me so often. Anyways, again nothing extremely friendly she and the waitress seemed really stressed trying to get orders taken. The stress was thick in there. We all ordered drinks, my wife asked for coffee. We also placed our orders and my wife asked for no cheese on her French onion soup. Time goes by, drinks come. Coffee never does. Food arrives and my wife's French onion soup is loaded in cheese. Coffee never did arrive and we didn't bother asking for it. The food was nice, nothing to remember though. The worse part is two different people were told about the coffee and both forgot. As we were leaving one of the servers saw we had an interest in the place as we walked towards the exit and stayed looking around. She shared some info on the place and it's history and told my son to go to the wall and look at the pictures that had been taken that support the whole haunted stories of the restaurant. My wife and son were over there looking when a different server/waitress comes by and definitely made it known that we were in her way although we had been there for probably less than 20 seconds. She said she was trying to clean up and get ready for the next rush. Where? I don't know. We were there after lunch and way before dinner. I know they are trying to keep things original but the bathroom, at least the men's needs some work. There was some type of garden hose in there for some reason looking like it was ready to drain something into the standing urinal. I don't regret coming, Ashleys has a unique look to it and it's something worth stopping by for. I know people make mistakes but you forget the coffee and then forget the specific request of no cheese it reminds me again of how busy you are there. Too busy to even engage in a friendly interaction or to listen to what your paying customer asks for. The rude lady at the end was strike 3. I would probably go back to Ashleys someday but I would bring my own Bustelo, a hit of Ginkgo Biloba for whoever takes our order and a balloon for the server who was never shown love.
(3)Justin N.
The food was pretty good. The serve was great. Ask about how the place is haunted. The server will give you the story. There were plenty of options to choose from on the menu even for a picky eater like myself.

My girlfriend used to live in Rockledge and had been telling me that Ashley's was her favorite place to eat during that time. She told me of the restaurant's back story, about the murder and subsequent hauntings. She told me that one time she ate there, her dad's plate actually lifted a half inch off the table. In other words, she made me interested. Fast forward a few months later, she finds out her mom, who lives in Florida, is getting married. We hop a plane and fly back east for the occasion. While in Florida, we take a drive from her mom's house out to Rockledge and make a stop at Ashley's to grab some dinner along the way. From the get-go I liked the atmosphere. It's one of those places that feel very cozy but are actually quite spacious. When factoring in the upstars the place has plenty of room for large parties, if so desired. We went on a Thursday evening so it wasn't too busy at the time, allowing us to grab a seat upstairs, overlooking the bar. I enjoyed the rustic aesthetic and random trinkets and baubles scattered about. I also really liked the free-hanging stained glass windows surrounding the upstairs balcony area. Our waitress was timely and came to take our order shortly after being seated. We wasted no time in making up our minds. We started with an order of Southwest Egg Rolls. These consisted of a fried pile of goodness. They were pleasantly spicy with a satisfyingly crunchy outer shell. I felt I could have ordered two plates of them and been completely satisfied with my meal. For as delicious as that was, the grilled shrimp we shared as a main course blew it out of the water. We got the meal with a baked potato and vegetables and I went in veggies first. This consisted of mainly zucchini in a very tasty sauce. Next, I moved on to the grilled shrimp. I tried every combination of sauces on the shrimp and absolutely could not decide on what was my favorite. The underlying shrimp was so tasty that all the sauces were nothing but a bonus. The potato was just icing, it was to perfection and was as good a baked potato as I'd ever had. Now, it would be a great disservice to give the dessert experience anything less than a full paragraph to itself. I was told (and now I feel it was more a warning) of a dessert called the Sweet Surprise. I was told it was huge, it was full of chocolate, and it would lessen my lifespan in increments of years. I felt it a worthy challenge. We found out from our server that someone in charge of cutting the dessert up before serving had made a piece of disproportionate size. Since my girlfriend had been a long time patron, the server decided that special piece should go to us. When it finally came out my eyes bugged out a little. What came out was a giant, and I mean HUGE pile of chocolate on fudge on ice cream on whipped cream on chocolate chips on... I don't even know. I greedily sank my fork into a corner and shoveled into my salivating pie-hole. This experience left me with only one thing to say: I hope I dream about eating this so I can taste it again in my sleep. If you ever happen along the Atlantic coast outside of Orlando, do yourself a favor and try to make time to visit this place. The food was outstanding and who knows, you may just experience a bit of the supernatural. I know I did, and it was on my taste buds.
(5)Alyssa F.
So maybe my tasty-gages are a little messed up after a long ride, but I finished a bowl of fried clam strips here and licked my fingers and I am not ashamed. Salty greasy ghostly yum.
