As a prerequisite to this review, I must mention that I rated this place a 4 rather than a 3 due to the incredible price of the lunch buffet ($8.95). Red curry with chicken: The sauce was tasty, creamy and semi-sweet as it should have been. The chicken was ok, but nothing special and there were too many vegetables mixed in for my taste. This curry is best poured on top of the white rice, which was decent as well. Vegetable fried rice: This was good. They didn't mess it up but it wasn't amazing either. Noodles with tofu: This dish is comprised of Ramen style noodles mixed with tofu and veggies. It was good. Vegetable spring rolls: They tasted like they were frozen and probably were. Here is my gripe with frozen food... it's ok to cook frozen food as long as the customer can't tell the difference between frozen and fresh. In this case, it was pretty obvious. The filling was bland, the exterior was stale and not fresh, and even the addition of sweet and sour sauce did not make me think otherwise. Chicken wings: These were surprisingly great, and tasted much better than they appeared. The batter was nice and crispy and the chicken was moist. Those wings tasted much better than those at many chicken wing restaurants i've eaten at. If you decide to try this place out, don't miss out on the wings. Bananas with coconut milk: This was one of their two desserts and it was pretty good. The name describes this dish perfectly... freshly sliced bananas in creamy coconut milk... YUMMY! Sweet, crispy chips: This dessert is good at first bite and gets better the more of it you eat. They took flour tortilla chips, fried them in oil and topped them with sweetened condensed milk and sugar... ADDICTING! All in all, the food itself was collectively good... BUT FOR THE PRICE... AWESOME! It is very difficult to find a restaurant where you can stuff your face with various dishes that are pretty much all good at minimum, all for under $10 after taxes... PHENOMENAL! Go try this place out, and as always... Happy Dining!

Great place for a weekday lunch buffet! It's a small place but since it's buffet you'll get seated quick. Clean restaurant and friendly service. I would recommend trying the spicy basil chicken or the tom yum soup if you like spicy dishes.
(4)Terri J.
Fresh, accurate to order, fast, but just a little skimpy on the chicken in my chicken and shrimp pad Thai. Overall I'm loving it- I'll just request they at least include a full strip
(4)Rhonda K.
Their curries are always no fails,& their crab rangoon is perfect. So is their coconut chicken soup. Never had a problem at both locations!

Good but I wouldn't say great Thai. My go to anytime I try a new place is chicken pad thai. Came out super fast. (Almost too fast.) A little pricier than I would like for a basic Riverview restaurant, but no complaints. Service was decent. They have a lunch buffet if that's your thing.

This was our first time here. Everything was light, fresh and tasty. We'll be coming back.

I was skeptical about this place but the price was unbeatable and the food was good. Awesome lunch buffet and great variety.

What a delight! My friend and I ate here the other day for lunch. I was "iffy" about it at first but was pleasantly surprised when I left with my belly full for less that $10 bucks. After ordering you will be brought a bowl of soup and and a Spring Roll served with Sweet Chili Sauce. For your entree, You pick your choice of meat then your sauce, I ordered the Garlic Sauce Sauté. This was sautéed with garlic & black pepper in brown sauce with mixed veggie, crispy garlic & scallions sprinkle served with Jasmine Rice. Everything tasted great, was fresh and delicious. My friend got a curry entree and hot saki, our total bill with $5 tip came to $26. It's a steal for how much delicious food we got. Service was friendly, portion size was ample, and you can't beat the price. This is definitely a hidden gem in a city when chain fast food dominates.

Tried this quaint Thai restaurant that has a lunch buffet for 8.95. Came for dinner as I was hungry for Thai food. I chose the Tom Kha soup with shrimp. It had the delicious blend of flavors and just the right spiciness. I sipped, slurped and ate the soup that was full of veggies and shrimp! Yummy! I ordered the chicken with peanut sauce as I wanted to try a new dish . The chicken was on a bed of steamed vegetables. I guess, I like food all cooked together with the vegetables and meat mixed in a sauce. This dish had water from the steamed veggies mixing with peanut sauce, and making the sauce all runny. It didn't look all that good but it tasted great! This was a sit wherever you want type of place, clean and with soft music in the background. The servers were friendly. I would definitely be back and try the buffet next time.

The beef in my dish was spoiled but the taste of the Pad Thai was good. It was a pity that my meat had to spoil because I wanted to enjoy my food but unlike the other Thai restaurants, they took it off my bill so that was unexpected and nice of them. You don't get that at any Thai restaurant. Might return, it's not on my list to go to.

This is truly the REAL Thai that anyone can love. The Mango Sticky Rice was hands down the best I have ever had. I credit them for excellent service, good ambiance and a great location. It was the location that brought me here to begin when I first arrived in Florida from California. They cook food very authentic and I enjoyed this, it was like I had went from Thai to Thai. Everything was the same and I like that. I enjoy Thai and was happy to find this location so close to my home and work. This place is accessible from a run to Home Depot, to a visit to my Hairdresser on Bloomingdale in Riverview, FL. I gave this review 5 stars because I believe they truly deserve it. I don't randomly give 5 stars and I have been to many establishments. I thank you Lemon Grass for fine dining every time I come in.

We ordered take out & live about 15-20 minutes away. We got home & realized our crab Rangoon was noodles. Plain noodles. I called & the lady answered saying oh I know I missed up your order (I guess from caller id) she said she would just credit my entire order for the inconvenience. Never did. Pretty disappointing but the food is good.
(3)Jason I.
By far the best lunch buffet I have ever had. Everything was fresh and full and the taste of everything was remarkable. I will surely be going back often.
(5)don n.
Come try their buffet. It's simple spicy and good! Consistency makes me come back year after year. Try it you'll like it!
(4)Jeff S.
For a person that lives in Thailand. This is a great place for Thai food. Service is outstanding. Will season as required.
(5)Shayna P.
Excellent little place! The egg fried rice, basil fried rice and garlic saute are my favorite. Will be back often!

Worst Thai buffet I have ever been to!!! Not only was the food disgusting, but the service was by far the worse I've ever had at a restaurant/buffet. After explaining that I did not like the food (both bowls of soups & the plate of food I had served myself were almost intact) & that we wanted to order a to go buffet either way, I asked if we could just put the food that I served myself, that I barely touched, in a to go box & pay for a to go buffet instead of a dine in buffet. I basically just drank water & talked to my family member, that's how much I didn't eat. The server so graciously tells me about three times during one sentence that I needed to tell her upon entrance that one was to go & the other dine in, not that I can change it from dine it to to go. I obviously know that you can't sit down at a buffet, eat all you want, then ask for a to go box, fill it up with food & ask just to pay the to go portion. Since I literally took maybe 4 spoonfuls of food out of everything I served, I thought that she would understand that I really didn't dine in & I did want to pay for the food, but just wanted to put it to go. She then proceeds to say that she can't allow me to do that because then other customers will do that. Again, I'm not asking for free food here. I wanted to pay for a to go buffet instead of dine in since I barely touched the food. Meanwhile, she's going around refilling the other customers' drinks & attending to them. My cup of water needed a refill & she wouldn't even look towards our table. I speak to her one more time, thinking that maybe she didn't understand what I was trying to say. Keep in mind, I'm polite & nice during all 3 occasions that I talked to her. She ends up saying that if I didn't like the buffet food that I could order something from the menu. Um, isn't it basically the same thing if I'm going to pay you $11 for a to go buffet instead of however much for one item from the menu? Then 3 employees come out from the back & sit down at a table to eat. The server goes to their table & they speak in their native language, while turning their heads & looking at my table. This is incredibly rude. First of all, as a server, you try to make the customer happy. Second of all, you don't talk about the customer right in front of them. We end up going to the register to pay for 2 dine in buffets & we ask for the manager. The server stutters & gets all flustered, saying that her mother is the manager. So we ask to speak with her mother. She then changes what she said & says the manager is her sister & she'll be in Wednesday. She also adds in that "if I didn't like the food, so sorry." My family member let her know that she's a frequent customer & that she's noticed the server has a bit of an attitude. The server very ignorantly says "oh really? sorry." She completely disregarded any concerns we had, didn't try to accommodate us at all & on top of it all had an attitude with us! My family member really loved the food there, but after today's experience & their maltreatment towards me, she is refusing to go back. This could've been resolved in a completely different manner, where both parties would've been satisfied, but since this buffet does not care whatsoever for their first time customers, or customers altogether, my family & I will never return.

Giving another star because their lunch buffet is awesome! Yummy soups, Thai salads, and your typical Thai dishes along with rices, noodles, and egg rolls. Food was fresh, hot, and for the most part all very good. Did I mention it's only 8 bucks!?
(4)R Z.
Smaller than other buffet restaurants, but they've a good food, and a great service. Especially like chicken wings, and soups. $7.99 isn't pricey for buffet restaurant..
(4)Kathy E.
I try to go to lunch there once a week. The red chicken curry is amazing and the green papaya salad is a must. I love everything I have tried. I try for 11:30 because the work crowds are big. I believe they also have an outside dining section as well

This place is awesome. I knew there was a Lemon Grass Thai restaurant in south Tampa and I heard about this location last week. We decided to give it a try and I am so happy I did. The restaurant is not big, but it is super clean and the food is to die for. I am a vegetarian, so I am usually nervous if restaurants would have a good selection for me. Lemon Grass certainly did, actually there was such a great selection I was really impressed with the variety of both vegetarian and non veggie selections. The staff is also super friendly. I think this is going to be one of my favorite places for lunch. They have a great buffet as well as you can order from the menu, but you will not go wrong with the buffet for sure.

My husband and I decided to try out this Thai restaurant that just opened up down the street from us. We normally prefer another place called Jasmine tired but decided to try something new just to see. Food: I ordered the fried rice and my husband ordered the pad Thai. Compared your other favorite restaurant we weren't too impressed with the food. It was of ethnic descent but didn't feel very authentic. Also the prices typically range $10 and under for Thai entrée of fried rice or noodles and these were over that price. Service: The waitress and the staff at the restaurant were very friendly and very pleasant. We do have a favorite Thai place in the local area so not sure if we would come back here but if you are nearby and do you want Thai food it is a place that you could go.
(3)Josiah G.
Great lunch buffet and my favorite red curry in Tampa. They are also open late on weekdays, i think you can pick up orders until 10pm. Friendly staff, solid Thai place.
(4)Greg A.
First time here and we will keep coming back! The food is great and the prices are even better! We had the calamari for starters...very crispy and served with the usual sweet that chili sauce...it was very good. We also had the pad that with shrimp and the pineapple curry with shrimp and chicken. Can't go wrong with either of the items. I would recommend this place for dinner as it is not crowded or loud but had plenty of people eating here and the staff are super friendly!!
(5)David M.
We visited one week night and were scared honestly. It was 6:45pm and we were the ONLY people in the place. However, we were soon joined by a lot of others and before long the restaurant was full, and there is where the weakness is. The service is amazingly friendly as any Thai restaurant should be. However, when you consider the number of people that the restaurant can away, the needed a second server to handle the load. Oh...the food was amazing!
(4)Benny B.
Ah.... Pad Se Ew with calamari. Medium to Hot! Sabor y Caliente!
(5)Griffin H.
My husband and I ate her Saturday night. I was a little unsure of what to expect at a Thai place. However, we enjoyed our meal. We started with the veggie egg rolls, which were very good. I am not a very big spice or sauce person so I went with the mixed vegetable Thai style fried rice. It was a huge portion. I took home more than half. It was typical fried rice. My husband had the chicken in peanut sauce. He said it was a bit of a cinnamon taste that he didn't care for. Overall we liked our meal and will probably go back to try different dishes. The service was also great and friendly. The waitresses were on top of refilling our drinks every time they were empty.
(3)Khemy P.
This place is awesome! The food portions are huge, service was great, and the place is sparkling clean. The atmosphere is definitely a calm hole in the wall. I'd suggest to anyone looking for a good selection of dishes, and those looking to roast their taste buds off!
(5)Erin B.
Great food. I'm not an expert on Thai food at all but I've had some great meals here. I always order the same thing, which is the yellow curry with chicken and I got shrimp one time and was not too impressed but this meal never disappoints. I heard the lunch buffet is very good but I have never been. I've had the calamari which is great, The spring rolls with her also very tasty, the chicken noodles soup as well as the fried doughnuts.
(4)Chaena P.
So good. You can tell the food is fresh and healthy. I eat here a lot because I work next door. The massaman curry is to die for and so are the rice wrapped spring rolls. The price is good too!
(5)Fabian M.
I had the lunch buffet and it was really good. The Spicy chicken with basil and the green curry were my favorite. I also enjoyed the soups and I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a Thai Fried chicken wing, but those were some awesome wings!! crispy and tasty. The guy next tome combined some chili sauces from the bar with some super hot diced peppers to add to the wings and I had to do the same right away. I'm pretty sure I'll think of him tonight. For vegetarians there are at least 4 hot dishes (including the soup) and a salad bar that was very fresh (it gave me the illusion that I was eating healthy and my fried wing guilt disappeared). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there was only chicken...where's the beef??? Fish and shrimp would have been nice too, but again, $7.95 for Chicken Thai buffet is a great deal. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and I will go back as soon as my digestive system allows it..

Take Out review: Hubby and I happened upon this place while looking for dinner options after a tiring game of kickball. We placed our order with a nice woman working the front. Luckily the place wasn't too busy since it was a Wednesday night so we got our food fairly quickly. We ordered a chicken pad thai (stir-fried rice noodles with egg, crushed peanuts, cilantro and scallions in a mild sweet sauce) and a chicken pad se-ew (stir-fried wide rice noodles with veggies in a semi-sweet brown sauce). We both enjoyed our selections as they had great flavor and the portions were large. Since I have a tendency to like most things, I usually look to my picky-eater husband to gauge whether or not a place is any good. Hubby approved of this place! He loved the flavor of his pad se-ew and the little taste I got of it was full of yumminess. I was also a fan of the pad thai I ordered. It wasn't too sweet nor was it overly spicy. I'll be coming back to this place for sure! I'm also curious to try their $7.95 weekday lunch buffet. It'd be a good chance for me to try their other dishes.

I was pleased to stumble upon the Lemon Grass Thai Kitchen. I was so hungry and was seriously about to resort to foraging for nuts and berries and then I saw the sign for a Thai restaurant. The restaurant was very clean and had a very friendly girl who was working the floor. I ordered a beer and the Masama Curry with chicken. It was great and a very large portion. The prices were reasonable and it looks as though they have a lunch buffet for the Thai lover on the go. They also provide a complimentary Thai soup with rice and a mini spring roll before your meal. Yum!
(4)Carlos H.
I ordered Lemon Grass takeout. Normally I'm a little cautious to order Thai takeout because my history with it has been pretty awful. Normally my Pad Thai is dry and sauceless by the time it gets home. Not the case with Lemon Grass! The Chicken Pad Thai tasted as fresh as if I was in the restaurant for dinner and it was priced reasonably as well at around $10 if I remember correctly. Anyway, what has really caught my eye with this place is that they have a lunch buffet for under $10. Thai lunch buffet within minutes of my house!? You know I'm going back. The lady at the register was friendly as well. It's good to have a Thai restaurant closer to home (although I do still love Ploy Thai and Jasmine Thai). I'm excited for growth in Brandon. :)
(4)Katy S.
I have only been for lunch, so that is what my review is based on. This review would be a 3.5 star if I could give one. It is very close to my work and inexpensive. The lunch buffet is only $7.95 and they had a full on selection. I went for the Chicken in Chili Sauce (hot) and my man friend went for Green Curry Beef (medium). Both were very tasty and the food came out fast. I wouldn't say that Lemon Grass was anything to write home about, but I have a feeling that I will frequent there many more times for a quick and healthy Thai lunch. Excited to go back and try some more of their dishes.

My son and I visited LemonGrass Thai Kitchen tonight and we were pleased with the food and the service. Pros; The coconut/tofu soup was delicious and the rolls were nice and fresh served with two different dipping sauces. Our meal arrived a bit later and was a very generous portion. We ordered chicken in a peanut sauce and it was, according to my son very rich and tasty. It was served with white rice. What a great option in the Bloomingdale area! I enjoy seeing the variety of vegetarian meals! Maybe I can alternate Lemon Grass with Acropolis... I welcome the addition and the change. The server was very friendly and fast. She even ran to the parking lot to deliver my leftovers that I had left on the table by mistake. Love the small outdoor area even though the restaurant is in a small strip mall by Bloomingdale. The place was clean and the food was definitely decent. Plenty of parking. Cons- the space seems vast and not cozy and colorful like most Thai restaurants in the area. The decor seems a bit mismatched and the small dining area offers no privacy. I suggest more authentic decor (vs some of the modern pieces on the wall) and partitions or dividers. A lower ceiling and/or some other type of drapery and or curtains to give the space more character and color. Heavy carved wood paneling will give it that Thai look. As well as fresh flowers. Another negative aspect is that in order to get to the strip mall, you have to do a U turn on Bloomingdale if driving from 301. Either that or turn on Providence. Regardless, I am very happy I tried their food and I can't wait to try their buffet. Try them! I'm glad I did.
(4)Ryan S.
This place is not bad for quick Thai food. The green curry is good and they run an efficient lunch business. I have never waited long for an order, even when not calling a take out order in. The lunch buffet looks good, but I have always done takeout so I will reserve judgement on it. I will keep going back as the product is consistent and they are very quick and easy to deal with on my lunch breaks!
(3)Willie O.
Excellent pad thai. Had it for lunch and came with soup and a spring roll; also very good. Careful when asking for "hot". The hot here is really hot. Will be back.
(4)Will H.
Another wonderful Thai addition to the Brandon area. The weekday lunch buffet is a great way to try Thai food for the first time, or for those of us that love to eat it on a regular basis. This is the same people that own the long established Lemon Grass restaurant on Kennedy in Tampa. The staff is super nice and very attentive. The food is always fresh and very well priced. Try it, as you will not be disappointed.
(5)Josh G.
this place is pricey but good....take out is always quick yet always warm and fresh. eat in area is not huge but very quaint. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for decent thai. the only negative thing i can say is that they charge an exorbant amount for a side of peanut sauce. Im sorry but if you are ordering a $10 pad thai and you like it saucy, they should make it that way for free.
(4)C H.
Bland bland bland! Ordered two curries, one panang curry and one red curry, both with tofu. They both tasted exactly the same, and had less taste than I've ever experienced from a Thai restaurant. And I eat a LOT of Thai. Basically red-tinted coconut milk, with vegetables and tofu. I will say the veggies were at least fresh. They were so bad I actually called the business to let them know how bland they were. The staff person said they make the curry sauce in advance, and add the veggies, meat etc. when ordered, and that they serve a lot of curry at both locations so she didn't understand, saying everyone's tastes are different. I let her know if that was the case, and it wasn't just a bad day or someone had forgotten a key ingredient in ours, we wouldn't be back. I didn't ever think I'd be this disappointed in Thai food, but there's a first for everything! I'll also say that on a Saturday at peak lunch time, there was only one couple eating the buffet, and ours was the only takeout order waiting at the checkout. Perhaps not the popular restaurant the staff person claimed it was.
