LOVE-LOVE-LOVE Jim's BBQ pork sandwiches. We usually order the large (extra meat) sandwich on grilled garlic bread and ask for extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping. They make the Best BBQ sauce ever- sweet n tangy! Sometimes I buy the sauce by the quart and take it home with me. We have been stopping here for several years on our way up and down the state. We have saved their phone number and call ahead to have our order ready to go when we get there. The place looks like a dive with marginal bathrooms and limited seating but the good food makes up for the amenities. I didn't care for the brisket- too dry but I love the ribs. The ribs are fall off the none good with perfect seasoning. We always buy several bags of their fried peanuts. They are made on property and always fresh!

Wow. Lured in by the billboards on the way back from Disney, Jim's promised great brisket. What Jim's delivered was something less than great. Jim's is a gas station, convenience store and restaurant. The gas station does not have many pumps and is difficult to navigate. The convenience store is interesting. It is cluttered with nick knacks and has a relatively poor selection of snacks. There is a large collection of signs and postcards (see photo) that may be of interest. The restroom was acceptable. There was a massive metal sink and an air dryer for your hands. Normally I hate air dryers, but this one dried my soaking wet hands in 15 seconds (literally). It blows out air at an alarming speed. If only all air dryers were like this. As for the restaurant, we ordered a sliced and chopped brisket sandwich. The brisket seemed dry and had little smoke flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The employees were friendly and had lots of character as did some of the customers. Would I stop at Jim's again? Probably not, but it was definitely an experience.

I had the Rib Dinner the first time and the Rib, Brisket and Pork dinner the second time. Both were amazing. Love the ribs the best!! (Next to their pecan pie with ice cream on top...

Fast service, nothing special but certainly helpful. We chose the pork sandwiche specials that come with bbq beans. We also got a large order of fries to split and they were smoking hot. The is a hot and a mild sauce to choose from. This is a nice departure from Wendy's

Tried a brisket sandwich "to go". It comes in an innovative wrapping that I liked on a corn dusted kaiser roll, yes, already sauced . The sauce was sweet and vinegary, not terrible but not my favorite. ( best ever the "original" from Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse, Euharlee, Georgia). There is a small area to dine in, lots of souvenirs and peanuts. Very close to exit. I'd stop again

Needing a late lunch on our way back south, we stopped in. I agree that this isn't close to Texas style BBQ, but I'm thinking they are hoping you've never had real Texas BBQ. Nevertheless, their potato salad was very tasty- lots of hard-boiled eggs and potato chunks. The beans were your typical baked beans, definitely not homemade but still good. Choose garlic bread for your sandwich. You won't be disappointed. The kids meals were good too. They come with a juice box (which isn't my favorite, but it was Apple & Eve) and a choice of chips, fries, or applesauce. Both kids had the turkey sandwich. The meat was very flavorful but a bit on the dry aide for my liking. But it wasn't my sandwich and they both finished most of theirs. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but it's a much better option than a fast food chain.

For close to 20 years, I looked forward to stopping at this BBQ - especially for the pecan pie - every time we had a run through Florida. I would tell everyone I knew to stop there. The last time we did, we had the displeasure of meeting the rude new owner and it was apparent from the food that it would never be the same again. Recently gave it one last shot hoping it had improved to what it originally was. Not impressed. Word of mouth is everything. If it wasn't located so close to a busy interstate, it would have been closed years ago.

Jim's is Just...OK As noted in other reviews, Jim's is part of a gas station/store complex. Everything is very basic. That's all OK if the barbecue stands up on its own. Unfortunately, there is nothing special here. The Brunswick stew was OK, the ribs were too soft and fatty. There is no charm or atmosphere like you might expect at some quirky, small-town barbecue joint. It's all just there and you can take it or leave it. I think that we'll drive on to someplace else on our next trip up or down I-75.

This is NOT Texas brisket. For one he (the cook) told me he scrapes the fat off the brisket and everyone knows thats from Texas that you work hard to keep the fat on, its called a bark. Second there is no smoke ring. Last he only serves lean ( from the flat of the brisket) no point ( the point is where the fatty part of the brisket is and is the best). This guy is giving Texas brisket a bad name.

Eh. Very basic food and the brisket tasted like old pot roast :/ the fries were okay but that's the positive part. I wouldn't spend my money here again and it's sad because I'm all about local businesses.

Jim's Bar B Q Food was borderline Service was an unfortunate. I would have expected better service at Wendy's across the street.

I've driven by Jim's countless times and finally stopped in. The service is friendly and good, but the food isn't worth the stop. I had a smoked turkey dinner with beans, slaw and garlic toast. The sliced turkey had a nice smoke flavor but was dried out. The beans could've been from a can, and the coleslaw was acceptable but just very average. The white bread garlic toast was pretty good. I do greatly appreciate that the hot bbq sauce did have heat. My friend's chicken sandwich was dry too (including dark meat) but the onion rings were above average.

Why don't they just let me read a web site and drive, I'd be so much smarter then. Lori WHY, I mean Lori Y. Why didn't I heed your warning!!! You said two stars, but I couldn't check the Yelp web site and drive, and once I was inside Jim's Texas Style Brisket, I was stuck, as I already paid, when I was reading Lori' review. Lori basically with great zeal covered all the bases. Jim's BBQ, is a dump! It's filthy, The service is beyond lackluster, you feel as you are an imposition. As far as the food was concerned. The brisket sandwich wasn't the worsted and it certainly wasn't the best! The fries, they were good, but, Jim's gave me the creep's, on a scale from 1 to 10, one being a roach crawls across the floor, and ten, the FBI shows up with a back hoe to dig up bodies in the back of the restaurant, I would say ten!!! I'd give them 21/2 Stars!

Have been driving by this place for years so decided finally to stop. Overall, meh. It's an interstate feed stop with below average food. The Texas brisket is good but the pork ribs were tough. Only one sauce seemed to be available, a sweet sauce, which tasted store bought but was not bad at all. Cole slaw was totally devoid of taste. Baked beans and the garlic toast were very good. We will continue to drive right by.

Saw the billboard for Jim's Bar-B-Q while driving north on I-75 from South Florida. We thought, "Bar-b-q sounds better than hitting a chain restaurant in Gainesville," so we tried it. Jim's is located right off the exit in what feels like the middle-of-nowhere Florida. The two women working there, and I use the term loosely, were more interested in talking about who was going to take one of them to her gynecologist appointment than on making sure the service was good. First off, we ordered 2 Texas Beef Brisket sandwiches for $4.99. The sandwich platters come with one side, either beans, coleslaw or a bag of chips. We should have left when they told us they were out of buns, and that we could have the sandwiches on Texas Toast and that we should order the "Jumbo Sandwich" for $1 more "because the Texas Toast is so big." But, for $5.99, sounded like a deal. When the "sandwiches" came, the plate was half empty, and all I saw and felt was grease. The bread didn't have any flavor, but it was soaked in grease. I wrapped the sandwich in 4 paper towels, which were immediately drenched in grease. I honestly have no idea how the brisket tasted because of the amount of grease. Are you noticing a pattern? Even the bar-b-q sauce didn't help the flavor. On top of it all, our unimpressive meal repeated on us all the way to Atlanta and for a few hours after that. All in all, next time I will skip Jim's and hit one of the chain restaurants at The Oaks Mall in Gainesville a few miles up the road.

Fast friendly service from pretty young girl. Food good. Cold beer. It is what it is. A BBQ joint in a gas station just off I-75 in Florida.

Located inside a gas station this is not a typical fast food stop, which is what drew me here as I was looking for something different. I ordered the Brisket Sandwich platter and thought it was pretty good. The baked beans were really good and highly recommended. I like when the beans have meat in them and these were spot on! The coleslaw looked to be from a jar and was nothing special and the brisket sandwich was pretty good. I'd come back again.
