Is real good chow here. Had an oysters app. 2 dif ones actually. Excellent. Fab service throughout. One app of blue point oysters which was a first for me. Not sure what the big stir is about them. Nothing special though I am not a coniseur of such. Good though. Another oyster app had a chili touch which I liked better. Not real large oysters but ok. Several glasses of Reisling just right. Sparkling water which I prefer, is kept adequate level. Scallops were 4 nice size w same ravioli. Excellent. Dessert strawberry shortcake. Good but not more. Cappuccino latte...real good. Cost $100 was fair

Ate here while staying at the Sawgrass Marriott. I'm not sure why else you would eat here. It is fine for a hotel restaurant, both nothing too special. The place was absolutely dead when we were there -- I was almost surprised they were open. I had some type of dish billed as "meatloaf" that was actually more like beef brisket. It wasn't bad, but the meatloaf name was a bit misleading.

Had breakfast here two mornings in a row. Opted both mornings for the breakfast buffet - which includes an Omelette Bar. I ordered a custom omelette both mornings: Spinach, mushrooms, onions, scallions, fresh jalapeños (not pickled or brined), cheddar cheese, and sausage. Omelette was cooked in butter and was excellent both times! I added a side of their Applewood smoked bacon and some berries: red and black raspberries and blueberries, a bit of smoked salmon. One morning I also noted they make their own corned beef hash. So I had to try it. Wow - is it ever tender, tasty, and succulent! Almost melts in your mouth! Some of the best corned beef hash I've had in a long time. Coffee was decent, service was excellent both times.

I had seafood pasta and it was very good and the serving size was perfect or maybe a bit more than enough. The staff was very willing to get me garlic bread even if it's not on the menu or my order :)

Lately, I had been taking Sawgrass for granted since it's my own backyard, but we had occasion to entertain guests there for dinner and were quite pleasantly surprised. The interior is chic, yet relaxing, dress is casual, and there's a lovely view. Not to mention LARGE PORTIONS, dry aged beef, awesome crab cakes and oysters. Waiter was attentive but discreet. Great vibe, no rush and a place to impress the in laws as well. A truly wonderful evening!

Very disappointing for such a nice resort. Filet medium was well and salad and soup can out a minute before the meal. Seemed like a very inexperienced staff.

Ate dinner here tonite. Atmosphere is very relaxing. Had a window table. Waitstaff is very attentive and knowledgable. Had a Filet Mignon steak. Was excellent, and dry aged beef for a reasonable price. Had the beet and lettuce salad. Dressing excellent and the goat cheese topped it off. Grilled asparagus accompanied and was tasty. A glass of Merlot was a good choice. Boquet was inviting and wine well balanced.

The restaurant has a nice, updated atmosphere that is both cozy and modern. I like the open floor plan, but the place was empty when we dined. I might not like it as much if it had been busy. I liked all of the food we ordered. I got the roasted beet salad, sea scallop dish, and the cucumber cooler cocktail. I was satisfied with each item. J had the pan seared golden tile fish, along with asparagus and broccolini. Everything tasted great. I would rate the food a 3.5 to a 4. The service was friendly and prompt.

I was very disappointed with the service. Our food took over a hour to come out and our drinks were never refilled. 3 of the 5 meals were prepared incorrectly. We asked for the check to be brought out with our meals which took an additional 10 minutes.

Horrible! They brought out my meal 30 seconds after my salad because "they were busy" but the restaurant wasn't even half full. Filet was well done when I ordered it as medium. When I actually complained, staff didn't remove any meal from check but actually charged me twice for soup.

Very nice ambiance, cozy and woody. Great view onto the golf course and water. Our waiter was knowledgable, charming, and recommended well after we told him what we couldn't eat. They had a very tasty soup bar, the beet salad was fresh, and our entrees were very tasty. The asparagus and the broccolini were crispy and bright green. The desserts were also very good. If you are staying at the marriott try Vernon's for sure. It is worth a trip even if you aren't staying.

Staying here and had dinner here last night. It was to wet and humid to go out. We order the lobster strudel appetizer, which was really more like an egg roll. It was nice and crispy on the outside and simply delicious! For dinner we had the filet with asparagus and topped with crab and Bernaise sauce it was perfect and our server Andrea took care of our every need! Would recommend when you stay at the Marriott here!

Had the breakfast buffet with my wife this morning and it was awesome. Great selection and quality. Very friendly and fast service. Eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese grits, cheeses, meats, fruits, oatmeal, blintzes, pancakes, waffles, omelet station. The coffee was really good. Great value!

My favorite thing about dinner at this restaurant was the "chowder bar" , which is complimentary with your entree. I have to admit the Crawfish & Lobster Bisque was amazing, I ate so much chowder/bisque I could barely finish my meal and then during my second trip to the chowder bar I zoned out thinking I was eating at an all you can eat buffet, I quickly snapped back. The chowder bar also featured their own oyster crackers with pepper, they were massive but every tasty. Eventually I was able to compose myself by patiently waiting at my table for my actual entree; while I resisted licking my chowder bowl. Now to my entree, I ordered the fresh Grouper. I was told their fish comes "straight off the boats" and noticed fresh fish being displayed on ice near the kitchen. I decided to be fancy and add the" Vernon" topping on my fish it was a combination of jumbo lump crab, blackened shrimp, bay scallops, and boursin. I believe that topping is what "made" my meal, although the fish was decent I don't think I would've enjoyed it as much without the topping. I'm from Maryland so I often see the term "lump crab meat" being abused in restaurants when really they are serving something different, however this restaurant actually serves real "lump crab meat" and that's a major plus for me. This is also a great restaurant for a date because the ambiance is romantic and sophisticated with an excellent view.

Had to stay at the hotel for dinner instead of joining my group at another dinner. Vernon's is a nice enough looking place that suffers from trying to beef up mediocre ingredients. I tried the chowders, the blackened grouper, conch fritters, and carpaccio, and sadly nothing stood out. The service was very nice but not enough to improve the experience here. My recommendation....go out to eat.

It's OK... Not worth the $$$... But OK. We got a coupon in the mail and it is so close, so why not. The view of the lake is nice and we enjoyed the soups. Nothing else was worth it. Food was OK. Service a little erratic... But the worst is it is opened up to the rest of the hotel ... No door to the restaurant.., so, while eating, we could hear some screaming kids in the lobby as their parents were checking in. Wine list was interesting but marked up more than other restaurants in area. Just too many other, better, places to go on Ponte Vedra.

My fiancé and I were looking for a unique experience this weekend and visited Vernon's. Not only was there a great menu, fantastic wine selection, and a pleasant ambiance, the service was outstanding. Our hostess was warm and welcoming, providing us several seating options. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful with wine pairings and explaining the menu. The food was delicious! I will certainly recommend it to friends in the area as well as resort guests coming to the area. We'll be back!

What a shock!!! We were in Ponte Verde for a wedding and stayed at Sawgrass Marriott. On our second day we went for breakfast at Vernon's as we had done Starbucks, also in the hotel the first day. When got got to the host stand there was not host to be seen and about 5 minutes later a guy show up and says "two?" Didn't wait for an answer started to walk into the restaurant, we follow as it appeared that was what he wanted us to do. He seated us at a table near the buffet asked us if we wanted the buffet to which we replied"Can we see the menu also?" It is nice to see what you are making your choice between. My wife and I both looked at the the buffet and opted for the menu. I had a brioche French toast with bananas it sounded awesome on the menu, I also ordered a side of sausage . When my food arrive I was shocked to five about 4oz of chopped bacon sprinkled on my French toast, it didn't order a Cobb salad, very strange. None of the food was hot which is hard to understand as we were no more than 30 feet from the kitchen door. Service was so very slow but that was because there was only 2 wait staff doing everything in the whole restaurant. As a result of there being only two wait staff on the floor we saw people seating themselves, we saw dirty tables untouched the whole time we were in the restaurant. I watched a one of the wait staff pull a cart through the restaurant with bus pans clearing tables, I was pretty sure we at the Sawgrass Marriott and no some greasy spoon on the side of I95. We never went back there and can say we probably would never if at the sawgrass Marriott again
