Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

People are starting to catch on to this place. White people that is. This has been my secret little taqueria for a couple years now, I live close by and knew it was there. You used to have to know it was there, they didn't really have any signage, but that's all changing as they're doing well and people are catching on. I discovered a contemporary Mexican concoction there called alambres. It's pretty much like fajitas, except they melt cheese all over it and it has bacon! So good. Everything is good here though, and authentic. Including the staff and clientele so don't say I didn't warn you. Yuppie Yelpers should prepare themselves for a spot in an old strip mall near the tri rail station. There's lots of multicultural foot traffic round here, but don't be scared, nobody is going to bite you. Their English is probably about as good as your Spanish, but it's easy to order and everyone is very friendly. You might feel like everyone is looking at you when you walk in, but the Caucasian persuasion is becoming much more common in there and it's less of a surprise to the regulars these days.

This place is the perfect example of how not to judge a book by its cover. Decor sucks. Poncho's adhered to the walls, sombrero as well, couple roughed up pool tables, a humble place by all means. That being said the prices are very reasonable the food quality is great! I ordered the carne assada burrito and al pastor quesadilla. I was blown away by the wonderful flavors! I would highly recommend this place for authentic Mexican food cooked by Mexicans!

Excellent and authentic!! Hole in the wall type of place so don't have high expectations about the interior but these type of places are where the good foods at. And everything is cheap, $2 per Taco! I'll be back time and time again.

Very good authentic mexican food. It is a very casual environment with billiard tables and a flat screen tv. we had chicken flautas and ceviche both were amazing! Service was also very friendly.

This place is amazing! Looks a little scary on the outside, but the food and service was great. We were the only non-Mexicans in the restaurant. We went for dinner on a Sunday. We easily got a table for 7 people. The place was 50% full. It was full of men eating and drinking and playing pool. Our server brought us chips (fried flour tortilla chips) and a runny salsa. Both very good. I saw a salsa sampler on another table and requested it for our table. The red salsa is super spicy. The green salsa was amazing! They also give you pickled onions with fresh jalapenos. I ordered three tacos. They come on two layers of corn tortilla chips that were freshly off the grill so they had a little crisp to them. the shredded beef was my favorite. The tacos are topped with minced onion and cilantro. The tortillas were amazing! My side of refried beans were good too. No cheese on them since that is not authentic. The beef nachos had good flavor, but the chips were soggy. They do use shredded cheddar cheese on their nachos, dollop of guacamole, and onions. Everyone at my table was pleased with their food. One friend had the chicken Alhambra which is a plate of diced chicken covered in cheese with rice and beans on the side. There were also some veggies in the chicken. It is served with tortilla shells. The burrito also got rave reviews. They stuff it with rice, onion, beans, and meat. There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. I will definitely be returning!!!!!!! Prices and food are perfection at this establishment.

Great food that's really all there is to know about this place. I highly suggest you give it a try. Outside is not that appealing but who cares? It's what's inside that counts right!

I am from Chicago and we have a big Mexican population. Therefore, I grew up eating REAL, AUTHENTIC Mexican food. This stuff they label Mexican food in south Florida causes me to die a little every time Until now.... I've said I was going to try this place for the last year or so. I love it. It is the closest thing to Mexican food from back home Their tortillas are made in house. They are priced like a taqueria. I've been there and it has been filled with Mexicans (always a good sign) Super friendly They have tamales! ! (Albeit a little dry) This js authentic Mexican food. Not some flour tortilla drenched in "queso" My only gripe is (since I only get meat and cheese in my tacos) that I wish they filled up the tacos with meat. These are the most filled I've received them (good) other times the meat is pretty scarce If you want real tacos and authentic food come here.

I was driving towards I-95 when I saw a sign for a Mexican restaurant. I wasn't even hungry but I had to check it out. I walk in and there's the TV playing a Spanish talk show and only Mexicans were in the restaurant. So I knew it had to be authentic. I ordered a few different tacos: lengua, asada and carnita. They were very very good. My Mexican friend approved. They have 2 pool tables in the small restaurant and they sell Mexican candies and pastries at the counter.

Just like fellow yelpers, I agree and say it's not in the nicest plaza nor has the best interior, but it IS good. I love the burritos here, has the right about of all ingredients and just so flavorful. I've never been a fan of corn tortillas, which is what the place uses here. I ask for the flour ones which are sometimes .50 cents extra which makes it more enjoyable for me. I enjoy the chicken burrito and love the salsa they make. If you honestly like Taco Bell soft tacos, then ask for flour tortillas. It will make it more enjoyable for you. Not sure about the language barrier, but I would assume they speak English. I order in spanish, so I've never tried in English. Has pool tables and a jukebox, so if you're Latin or like the Latin am others definitely give this place a try

Okay lets start off with the tacos... WORST TACOS IVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!Just by the second When we walked in into the restaurant we knew by the smell that it wasn't going to be as good, we only ordered tacos and a tostada, lets start off with the tacos, the tortilla tasted like soap, they put cabbage in the tacos (which i have never seen before and i find it not tasty at all) the cilantro in my taco looked not fresh at all, the big chunks of onions also were not attractive almost impossible to eat, and then came the tostada which had a piece of carrot, very odd, i would never ever come back to this place, and whoever gives this place 2 stars is crazy their tacos are just horrible!!! Actually we are on the look out for a place that could compete with our favorite taqueria but none of these restaurants do the magic for us, you want to taste real mexican food? Try el jovenazo jr this is a place for you not to miss!!
