The new owner has transformed this bar and although I am not a huge sports fan, I keep coming back to Brendan's because of the friendly and amazing staff, they have just one server who always finds time for you even when she is run off her feet, the owner is a very friendly guy as are his managers and bar staff. The customers are a great bunch of people , I always enjoy chatting with them all and having a friendly game of pool. The food is always great and the drink prices are very reasonable ! I will be back !

I'm trying to find something good to say about this place but I'm struggling. I went in last week and got really lousy service, below average food and sat in what is just a depressing atmosphere. The server messed up my order and rolled her eyes when I mentioned it. I was constantly sitting there with an empty beer and had to beg to get any kind of attention. I would have asked to talk to the manager to talk about the service but he was too busy playing pool.

Great place. New owner did a great job with the new tvs and dart boards. New jukebox is top of the line too. Cover rock bands on Friday nights are key too. Bartenders are good and experienced.

Great service! Great beer! Awesome place to hang out and relax, friendly local crowd. The pizza we ordered was beyond what we expected, baked in their pizza oven! If you're in the area and need a good local place stop by! And they have dart boards!!!

Branden's Sports Pub is located in what was formerly Yak-Zies Bar and Grill. The new owners have cleaned up the grungy floor, added some flat screens, generally spruced the place up but it if I didn't know different, from the looks of it, I'd still think I was in Yak-Zies. Essentially it looks and remains very much the same. I stopped by on date of this review, and it was more than evident that they have plenty of growing pains and business kinks to work out. First off, no draft beer yet. Second, it would even be a compliment to call the bar service amateurish or unprofessional. For example, no real greeting, I ordered a bottle of beer and all the bartendress did was open the bottle and plop it down. No offer of a glass until I requested one which turned out to be one made of plastic but chill frosted and, oddly enough for Brendan's so-called "Grand Opening," no complimentary munchies and no specials of anything. The menu offering is rather small, very much abbreviated, pretty much nothing but common bar food like wings, burgers, dogs, onion rings, fries, kettle chips, some salads, a chili or French onion soup, pizza, and an assortment of sandwiches, however, I must say that the Philly Cheese Steak I had with sautéed onions, peppers and cheese sauce was really very good. The crowd that hangs at Brendan's is pretty much the same, aged mid-thirties to early sixties blue collar types along with a few senior citizen retirees that hung here when the place was Yak-Zies but all very pleasant and friendly. The main things that sort of sets Brendan's apart from other sports bars are that it has a really good number of real dart boards, caters to the dart players and dart playing leagues, has two rather decent pool tables and a good size parking lot composed of adequately sized parking spaces. However, the overall appearance of the place is somewhat tired and worn looking both from the outside and on the inside. As for rating it, it's OK, but not exactly "A-OK" in that it lacks what might be termed as having a good "fun factor" to it and, as far as sports pubs go, Fort Lauderdale has a multitudinous if not near myriad number of them, most of which are really more sports oriented, have a better atmosphere and would, in my opinion, constitute better choices.

My favorite! Food is awesome, staff are friendly & fun, LOVE the dart boards & pool tables & the different live bands! Such a breath fresh air from what it used to be, thank God. The area needed a good new sports bar!

Call me crazy, but what is appealing about a very long bar that faces the wall? They should have at least left the bar there so customers can see one another What were they thinking? I observed a much younger crowd here which is probably what they were aiming for I wish them luck. Nice size crowd for a Saturday night after 10 in this place Plenty of dart dartboards. Good crowd makes me give it 3 instead of 2. Hope that keeps up for them

New bar in town. Great neighborhood bar feel to the place. The owner and staff let you know that your patronage is appreciated. I was there for a Sunday barbecue. I think it starts at 2 every Sunday. The food was great. I watched the elite 8 (NCAA basketball tournament) there that day as well. Plenty of tvs and plenty of seating. I will be back, probably for more barbecue this Sunday.
