Damn good fried pork Damn good fried plantains Those are some of my favorite elements of Cuban cuisine and if a Cuban place does not deliver in this area... then I don't come back. Well, I'll be back. Fried pork chunks were fantastic. Plantains were just the way I like them: well done and chewy on the edges and an inside that sweet and melts in your mouth. The only portion of this lunch that I did not particularly enjoy was the green garlic sauce. It was okay but I would expect a better sauce from a place that really delivers in other departments. The decor is nothing to write home about but I was here for pork not for decor. The service was just okay but I was so happy with the pork that I did not really care.

I tried the lechon asado, and it was very good. It came with the usual rice, black beans, and plantains. I usually like ordering the ropa vieja at Cuban places, but the last Cuban restaurant that I tried in the area, I wasn't a fan of the way they cooked it. This time I went with pork, and it was so tasty! If you are familiar with Hawaiian food, it's sort of like kalua pork. My husband ordered empanadas and a tamal. They were OK, but I preferred my dish. I ended up being so full, it turned into next day's lunch. Service was good. As we were leaving, we noticed that policemen were coming in to eat here, so that tells you something. It must be good if the local law enforcement comes in to chow down here.

I will start of saying if you are looking for best Cuban food in South Florida you need to hit up smaller establishments in the heart of Miami. That is a no brainer. However, Las Vegas is a chain which does have great Cuban food. I prefer it over the more popular chain La Carreta. Their portions are large, flavorful and fresh. I have never had a bad dish at this locations nor it's sister location in East Hollywood. I have dined in at the Plantation location and it is always packed but never had a wait to sit. They get people in and out during the lunch rush hour beautifully. You are pretty safe picking any selection on the menu.

I'm so happy these Cubans crossed the ocean!!! No I'm not being racist, that's what the front of the menu says.. They are proud immigrants and I'm happy they made the voyage all the way to Plantation. Anywhoo the food was ok.. I've eaten at a few Cuban places so I really just give them credit for their restaurant which was cutely decorated. I had the Ropa Veja with black beans, white rice and plantains. They got an extra half star from me because while I was standing there thinking about how good this would taste with bread, they threw in a greased stained bag filled with Cuban bread with garlic butter! Aye que RICO!! Hhhmm why is there sand way over here in Plantation LOLOL

To start off, I am a Miami-born Cuban and have high standards yet extremely wide tolerance for Cuban food quality. That being said,... Started with the appetizer sampler which was large and for the most part good. The tamale was heavy on cloves (weird), but the rest was good. Since it was so large the wife, me and the 11 year old split a media noche (a pressed cuban sandwhich on egg bread) and a bowl if caldo gallego (soup). The soup was bland and the media noche was the worst I have ever eaten. The sandwich is pressed to be crispy, mine was floppy (but still had "plancha" marks). I could go on but I do not wish to relive the horror. The table next to us sent back their kids chicken fingers (because the kid was complaining it was hard to chew). And to finish horribly we ordered a Mamay shake ( Hell,I thought, even a bad one is still pretty good, and I am proven wrong). Somehow it vaguely tasted like strawberry quick from the 80s, but only vaguely because I loved strawberry quick, did not care for this . If you want Cuban food, go elsewhere. They get a second star for service.

Best Cuban food I've had. Great prices for their lunch specials, I always get the Filete de Pollo and it's always excellent. The garlic bread is also delicious. It's usually really crowded around lunch time, but there's never a long wait and the service is pretty fast once you're seated.

Wow, I've had some good Cuban food and this may be a new level. Very simple place, the focus is food, not fancy distractions and for food they bring it. I ordered the Vegas combo, taste of three items, it was wonderful.

Well, she ain't pretty but don't let her looks fool you, there's some good grub to be had inside and at a pretty good price. The decor leaves something to be desired but the staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm new to South Florida so I can't attest to how authentic Cuban the food is but I thought it was very good. You can get a good meal here for under $10 or spend a little more and have enough leftovers for a second meal. I had the ropa vieja for $8 (which is shredded beef in sauce - apparently a "Cuban tradition"). It came with rice, beans, and plantains. I also had a bite of my girlfriends camarones enchilados (shrimp in sauce) which came with the same sides and was also very good at around $12. Also, I definitely recommend the house made Sangria.

Solid cuban food at an affordable price. Try the moros rice with your meal instead of rice and beans, and if you're not into sweet plantains, switch them out with the tostones.

Im obsessed with this place's empandas! they have THE best chicken empanadas..i haven't really had a bad meal here yet...the one thing I wouldn't get again might be the chicken filet as it wasn't as flavorful as I prefer but yet still so good...this place overall is great...always WONDERFUL service and amazing food!

This is a great neighborhood Cuban restaurant. I've been coming here for over 15 years, and it's been consistently delicious. We usually start with an avocado salad, which consists of fresh slices of avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions... Simple and great. I had the vaca frita, which was seasoned by some sort of Cuban angel who works in the kitchen. Their flavors are on point. Each dish comes w/ rice, beans, and plantains which are all as authentic as abuela's home cooking. If you're in the area, and are craving good Cuban food, this place will not disappoint.

Deliciously authentic cuban food. Love the vaca frita, pollo a la plancha is the best I've ever had anywhere & their media noche sandwich is delectable!! Finish it off with some cafe con leche and flan or tres leches and you're all set. Great prices, amazing food, great service every time. Been coming here for over 15yrs! What more can I say?

An authentic Cuban family restaurant--plain in look, but extraordinary in flavor. I regulary get one of the fish dishes, but this time, I ordered the appetizer platter so I could get a taste of a lot of different things (which has resulted in an additional three or four meals of take-home fare). My limit of stars is from putting canned fruit cocktail in the sangria. The flavor is terrific, but it is very obviously from can--here in the land of tropical fruit! It has been proved that the way food is presented has as much to do with how we perceive it, so why ruin the moment with such a thing. Their liquor license allows them to serve only wine and beer, so don't come expecting a cocktail. The location is convenient to me on Broward just east of University a bit and they handle take-out easily--either call-in ordering or walk-in ordering.

A little slow on the service but otherwise....stellar. I ordered a specific Pinot Grigio. Being a wine enthusiast and living in California, I know my stuff! Unfortunately, the waiter discounted that perhaps based on my stats. Instead if an Italian wine, I got a cheap California Chardonnay. Generally, I would have read him to pieces but I was too tired and mostly grateful to be getting some authentic cuban cuisine!!! So I drank that vendage like it was premium sh&&! That aside, the chicken was succulent and chock full of flavor. The black beans and rice?!!!... Ummm YES! Even the plantanos were Devine! A great authentic eatery! But perhaps they might consider a Byob situation! #ijs

The food was mediocre in comparison to the other Las Vegas restaurants. My reason for giving it a 1 star is mainly because my wife ordered a fish that was on the daily special for $8. The waitress told my wife that if she got it fried it would taste much better... Well my wife said "sure why not". After everyone in our party of 12 was done eating they brought the bill and we noticed a discrepancy. We told the waitress that the bill was wrong and that the fish was not $15 that they were stating on the bill - it was $8 that we saw on the menu. Well she tells my wife "if you got it the way it was on the menu it would be $8 but since you wanted it fried it is $15", my wife stays "That's absurd because you told me to get the fried one because it was much better, and you never spoke of any difference in pricing..." The waitress shrugged her shoulders and said "well that's the price" and walked off. I hope a Las Vegas manager reads this, as you shouldn't conduct business this way.

One of our local favorites. I always get the chicken chunks meal. They serve delicious bread as you wait for your food. The only complaint I have is the portions have gone down in size dramatically in the past year, for this reason we don't visit often as and instead support other local restaurants that have not changed their portion sizes or prices.

Lots of good Cuban food for a great price. Had lunch there today. Roasted pork with tostones instead of ripe plantains. You can also substitute yuca. Service was good and the avocado this time of the year is to die for.

I ordered two take outs as a first try. Very surprised how good they are( I ordered roasted pork and Sanwich Cubano). Everything in these dishes is done right, meat is juicy with good flavor, rice and beans well cooked. Not too much oil. The restaurant is spacious, no need to wait for tables during seemly busy lunch hours. Take outs ready in 10-15. People work there seem friendly. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends.

YES! Hubs and I were in Ft Lauderdale for a coaching certification course - he looked up this location while waiting for me at the hotel (this was really nearby) - SOO glad he did! I had the roasted pork (AMAZING) and TWO cafe con leches since they were so wonderful. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best part of our trip. Prices are extremely reasonable and service was fast and friendly.

Came in because we were driving from Miami to west palm beach and I was craving some Cuban food. From the outside it's nothing special to look at but since the parking lot and drive thru were packed we went in. Lots of people inside too. Let me tell you what great service and food to match. We started with the Papa Relleno. Huge portion and very tasty. Then my wife ordered the Churasco which was very tasty. Not chewy at all. The portion was so big it hung off the plate on either side.(future note if you order it it is enough for two). I got the rope vieja with arroz Moro. Delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes good Cuban food.

I used to work at an insurance office on broward blvd in plantation and my co workers turned me on to las vegas. Boy am I glad they did!!! Everyone would order the same thing every wednesday. The chicken chunks special with rice, beans and toastones. I never actually ate inside the restaurant so I really can't rate the service but the service I received for take out was always top notch. Food was always ready when I got there piping hot. The staff was always friendly and the restaurant looked very clean. I wish there was a las vegas near my home in the north broward area. I really miss those chicken chunks!!!
Food is delicious! We got the Bistec de Palomilla meal, and the meat was cooked perfectly, not too dry not too rare. Also came with rice, black beans, and plantains. Also very delicious. Service was mediocre. We ordered take out and they messed up our order. The manager was very apologetic and they offered us a drink if we wanted, but then tried to charge us for it. There's a disjunct in communication between the staff and sometimes a language barrier when placing pick up orders with the person over the phone. Other than the service, food is delicious

I love this place! My husband and I always come here when we want to have a nice quiet dinner. The food is amazing, and I grew up eating my grandma's Cuban cooking so I know good Cuban food lol. This is a great place for date night, or to take the whole family. And if you don't feel like eating there you can pick up to-go!
When in Florida you have to go to Las Vegas Cuban cuisine, it a must stop please in FL. Had the #16 Skirt Steak with extra grilled onions and extra extra garlic. Once you eat here you should use mouthwash because of the garlic..... It's a must have anyway. I rounded it off with the Flan.

My family has been going here every Sunday for over 20 years. Lots of birthdays, Baptisms, anniversaries have been spent with the wonderful Las Vegas family. When my grandparents and parents moved to South Florida 27 years ago they were desperate to find some great food the way it was made back home in Cuba. They definitely found what they were looking for in this family owned and operated establishment. This place is tucked away in a shopping plaza and would be very easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. However, you would be missing out on some FABULOUS Cuban food. I highly recommend going there during lunch. Their lunch menu will cost about the same as the local fast food joint ($6.96-12.95), but with their HUGE portions and the amazing homemade dishes you would be crazy to go through a drive thru! The lunch specials are available for carry out and go until 5:00pm. These dishes will include your meat, white rice, black beans and plantains. We aren't talking about frozen plantains OR canned black beans either! The food is exceptionally delicious. They are willing to switch things out for you if necessary (ex: I don't eat rice, sub for yucca) I have eaten at 30 or so other places including many in the heart of Miami and nothing compares. Also, the dinner prices are very reasonable. While the lunch is amazing I believe the dinners aren't more than $3-5 more. My absolutely favorites are their chicken noodle soup, Bistec de Pollo, Palomilla, and plantains. The bread with garlic butter they bring is to die for! Their desserts are GREAT! Do the Tres Leches, so delicious! Overall one of the best Cuban places around! The people are great and remember you each time you come in and the food is AWESOME! Enjoy :)

YESSSS QUALITY CUBAN FOOD! Huge restaurant with attentive service and a huge menu! We got the fried plantain chips with a garlic sauce + Cuban bread + sangria for an appetizer. The sangria was definitely different! It had kinda a seltzer taste to it? But was still fruity and tasty. The Cuban bread had a garlic spread! Refreshingly new but still keeps the classic idea of Cuban pressed bread. The chips were perfectly crispy and garlic sauce GARLICKY (I absolutely adore garlic so that was all good) As my dish, I ordered vaca frita which was basically seasoned and slightly shredded steak that has been pressed and fried on the grill. SO FLAVORFUL and had corners of crispness which is definitely a win. It was topped with onions and had a side of rice and black beans and plantains. Maybe it was because I was buzzing at this point but why were the plantains so perfect? It definitely kept the sweet flavor of the plantain, had a somewhat crispy exterior, and were cut the perfect size so you didn't get too much starchiness in each bite. The rice and black beans were absolutely delicious but nothing different from ordinary black rice and beans. At the end they have us a survey card and I gave it a great review! Ugh I want to go back NOW.

My family and I were in the Ft Laud area over the Thanksgiving holiday and had the taste for Cuban cuisine. I used to live in the area 12yrs ago & have been to Vegas a number of times. Boy have things changed! We had the steak dinner, fish, chicken & steak sandwiches. Our sides included yucca fries, rice & black beans. The food was disappointing. My sandwich had soggy bread, the beans as well as the steak were bland!!!

I was initially skeptical about this place, but glad that my business partners suggested this place for our group dinner. Located in an unassuming strip mall that looks like any of the other hundred strip malls in the area with restaurant sign facing the parking lot (instead of facing the street), I would think the probability of accidentally finding this place is pretty small. I guess we were early for dinner (6:30ish?), because the restaurant was empty. Our business partners have called in a reservation and they put some tables together to accommodate our party of 12. The decor, furniture, lighting, and everything inside was surprisingly sterile. Most of the Cuban and Latin restaurants I've been to (and okay, I haven't been to many) are very colorful, artsy (intentionally bordering on tacky sometimes), and above all, festive. Definitely not the case here, lighting was a bit dim , but not in the sexy date spot kind of way, more reminiscent of depressing office lighting circa 1995. There's a mural along one of the walls. I didn't pay enough attention to understand what it's depicting, but I named it the "Where's Antonio?" mural because there is a little guy hiding in tall, leafy plants in every mural section. I can only guess that's Antonio! The owner and his wife, Nilda, brought their 5 daughters (pictured on the front of the menu along with a little history about the restaurant) to the US in a mass exodus out of Cuba in 1980. Ah the American dream, what a feel good story! This was one of the few instances (if there ever was one) where gluttony paid off for me. I was being greedy and wanted everything on the menu. Since I didn't think my colleagues would be very interested in sharing food, I decided to get the Las Vegas Combination. It was a big plate of fried chicken chunks, "fried" beef (vaca frita), and roast pork, with a side of white rice, sweet plantains, and black beans. The fried chicken chunks are white meat chicken chunks deep fried until golden brown (no breading), topped with sauteed onions. Surprisingly, the chicken chunks were not overly greasy and you could tell they use good quality meat, none of that frozen chicken breasts with rib meat crap. The fried beef was not actually deep fried (thank goodness, my arteries rejoiced); it's a juicy piece of skirt steak grilled until the top has a nice, crispy texture to it; I think it was my favorite out of the three. The roast pork (lechon asado) was very flavorful. Soaked in mojo juice (whatever that is), it had a good citrusy taste to it and was a nice contrast to the other two. I'm not a big fan of sweet plantains or black beans, so I loaded up on the meat, rice, and plantain chips instead. After ordering the Las Vegas Combination, I don't think I can go back without ordering all three dishes. If I really have to choose, I'd probably go for the fried beef (vaca frita), but then I'll probably go home dreaming about the pork and the chicken... so, just pay that extra $9 and get the combo. Service was very good. My water never sat empty, and they kept the beer and sangria flowing throughout dinner. I had no room for coffee or dessert at the end of dinner, but the flan looked really good and now (4 days later) I'm kind of wishing I had ordered it anyway... oh flan, you were the one that got away.

I'm from Cleveland. We don't exactly have much Cuban food up there. However, I love trying new cuisines. It was something I was very excited about when coming down for a trip to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami. I was not disappointed! I had a picadillo, Cafe Con Leche and Tres Leches. Mmm. Excellent food and service. Would come again.

Years ago this place was smaller and had really awesome fair priced food and a staff that seemed to care about you and treat you as family. Over the past few years they expanded, the food has become mediocre, prices are higher and serving size is smaller. The service is simply awful. Even when slow the servers cannot handle the simplest of tasks like making sure water glasses are full or bringing requested items to the table. You have to ask 3 times to get something. Another irritating thing is that when the place is nearly empty they rush you thru your meal and seem to want you out the door. Tonight was my last try and now done with it. To many other good cuban places to choose from.

I must say I enjoy the food here. Atmosphere is welcoming to large groups. Saw large familys together, and that always warms the heart - good for digestion, too. My nephew quited the place down a few times when he screamed out "YEEEES!". He's 2, so I can only assume he liked the black beans and rice, too. ;) Portions are generous. I always have the option to load up on the calories, or split them meals for some excellent left overs. I feel you get taken care of here. Make it a point to bring your family, too.

There is a short supply of great lunch places in Plantation so when a co-worker suggested we go to a Cuban restaurant called Las Vegas I didn't hesitate. The food was nothing special but I am not the biggest fan of Cuban food to begin with. The service was quick and of course that is always appreciated when you are pressed for time. I am happy I tried because now I can scratch it off my list of possible stops during my lunch hour.

Great food and excellent service. I usually order the Palomilla medium rare. Only one time is was cooked too long. It comes with rice, black beans and maduros. Yummy! They always serve you fried bread with every meal and your water glass is always full. The waiters try to please and the manager is responsive to the customers. It's a nice, casual Cuban restaurant to enjoy with friends and family. I recommend it!

Fantastic food! Great service. Very reasonably priced. I loved the plantains with the mojo sauce! The chicken is the best! The steak was dry and chewy.

Que Rico! When I moved to Broward from Dade I was very happy. Not a long time went by though before I started missing the easy access to pastelitos, cortaditos and Cuban food on demand I had back in the 305. It is hard to find here. I asked around and found Las Vegas. I knew it well because I had visited the Miami Beach location in the past but did not know they had one so close to my house. I have to say that when I get nostalgic about the food I grew up on, I come here! Nothing like bistec empanizado with maduros and my good ole white rice topped with black beans. Riquisimo! Start all of that with the Cuban bread & butter and end it with a guava flan and you are golden! The place is pretty big and inviting for big groups. It is very casual and inexpensive. This is not an upscale place. You get paper napkins and go to town on the food so just come hungry! Food portions are pretty big so don't think twice about sharing. I recently visited and service was a little off though. It had never happened before. Our waiter was missing a lot, would forget to bring things we had asked several times about and was just in another world. The tres leches was actually frozen in the middle which was a turn off. Again, it had never happened before so will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a one time thing. I have also catered with them for noche buena several times. I always have to knock off a couple of servings to my order because of the large portions. If ordering say for 20 people, just make the order for 15. Last year we did arroz con pollo and it was AMAZING! Everyone kept going back for more! Feliz como lombriz to have this near my house as my little Cuban home away from home. Pruébalo! You'll like it.

Excellent Cuban Food. Staff is friendly and we enjoy our visit every time. I had the Palomilla which was cooked to perfection and my fiancée had a chicken dish that she said was perfect. The meals included Favorites such as Maduros and of course beans and rice. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family!

Good food. Family environment. Not expensive. Great for catering.

Delicious Cuban cuisine, never disappoints

I'm from Cleveland. We don't exactly have much Cuban food up there. However, I love trying new cuisines. It was something I was very excited about when coming down for a trip to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami. I was not disappointed! I had a picadillo, Cafe Con Leche and Tres Leches. Mmm. Excellent food and service. Would come again.

I have been going to this place for the past 15+ years. Food is always good, Service is fast.

Authentic Cuban food at an affordable price! Great atmosphere and service! I will definitely be coming back!
