Answering the question of how they have mixed reviews, the failed inspection is ture, the restaurant was shut down. You can google "local 10 miami" bring up the web site and click on the restaurant inspection link. The food tastes good, I previously gave them 4 stars, but if they have roaches running around, that's not good. Chinese places do not fare well in the inspection reports. I think I'm going to start reading inspection report sites along with Yelp.

We have Golden Wok once a week, because they deliver to our area. Does that mean I recommend this place? Not really. But I settle for convenience. Like other people have said, the food is mediocre. I've had better, but I have had way worse. To sum it up, it is good enough. I usually get something from their Lunch special (meal, rice, and choice of egg roll, crab rangoon wonton or egg drop soup, or soda) for about $6 or their Dinner Combo (meal, rice, and choice of egg roll, crab rangoon, wonton/egg drop/hot and sour soup, or soda) for under $9. Plus I add Shrimp Mei Fun/Chow Ho Fun. Think shrimp with rice noodles and veggies. Satisfies my craving for Pancit (Filipino noodle dish). It is not the same thing but it kinda close. I usually add lemon for flavor though as it is on the bland side. Delivery takes about 30 mins which isn't too bad. They have a minimum $10.00 and add $1.50 delivery. If you live near the area then give it a shot, just don't expect greatness and you won't be disappointed. You will probably be another Golden Wok regular, because "it is not that bad".

We ordered take out and had our food delivered which is $1.50 extra added to your order. Their food barely made the ok list. It's edible but not necessarily good. I would not order from here again or recommend it to anyone. We ordered crab rangoon which were rubbery instead of crispy it was also heavy on the onion. Chiken Lo mein was probably the worst out of everything we ate. Not only was it flavorless but the noodles were over cooked. It came out of the container as one whole block, not good at all. The pork fried rice was edible nothing special. The sweet and sour pork was oily and it was mostly breading with small piece of pork. Like I said the food was edible nothing was even close to being good. Save yourself the money and disappointment and order from somewhere else.

One of the worst Chinese Food places for me. I am an avid Chinese food eater. I live very close so I purposely avoid going there again. Their Lo Mein was incredibly dry and bland, fried rice was so-so, and the chicken wings were too burnt.

Awful customer service. Before ordering my food i asked if my address was one they could deliver to. I was old yes. 25 minutes later the driver calls me and says i need to cancel my order. Called and got hung up on. called again and got put on a 5 minute hold while they took other orders. Awful!

Food is mediocre. This is a take out and delivery only. I usually pick up my food and have had delivery maybe twice. Delivery takes a long time and food arrives warm at best. Staff on pick up are rarely friendly or rarely smile. I only come here out of convenience.

We have ordered from this place so many times. We just get one combination dinner and add spring rolls. Last time we ordered it wasn't too good, which is the only reason I took off a star. But they're usually very consistent so you won't be disappointed. Delivery is super fast and the drivers are super nice. Prices are good and you get so much food!

On Monday evening I placed an order for Double Wings and a large French fries for my children. This may sound crazy but I love their French fries! I have ordered fries before from this place and their normally fresh, hot and crunchy. I received my order within 45mins. The chicken was great. The French fries however were another story. Yes, I understand condensation of the styrofoam box may make the food soggy BUT these French fries were burnt and wet!! :( MaMa was NOT happy! I called to let the young lady know how my order turned out and the only two options she have me were to either place the money back onto MasterCard or she would give me a Small fry with my next order. Excuse me. I order and paid for a Large fry. Why would I accept a small order?! I think it was really unprofessional to NOT even offer to have another order brought out to me. Their response was, "we are too busy". It's Thursday and still no money has been placed back onto my card. Hmmm. This literally left a bad taste in my mouth!

My boyfriend and I wanted some Chinese food last night and we came upon this place. We ordered over the phone and decided to go and pick it up. They said it would be around 15 minutes and it was ready just then. The place is small and the lady up front was really nice. I ordered Chicken Lo Mein and it came with fried rice and wonton soup and my boyfriend ordered Shrimp Kung Po with white rice and hot and sour soup. I started with the Wonton Soup which is one of my favorite and it was not good. The broth was extremely oily and that is all it tasted like just pure oil. Then I tried to wonton and they were very disappointing. I wish I could explain the flavor, but I just cannot even describe it except for bad. So I moved onto the fried rice and it was delicious, well seasoned and very balanced. I then tried to Chicken Lo Mein and it was greasy, but it had good flavor. Honestly it was nothing special and the leftovers went to the garbage because I doubt I would eat them. My boyfriend's meal according to him was not bad. The soup was good enough but it did have a huge chunk of tofu inside of the small bowl which he had to take out and cut before he could eat it. And his Shrimp Kung Po was good but he did mention it needed more Shrimp because it did not have enough. Overall I do not think we will be trying this place again and if we did we would just get the fried rice.

For the life of me I cannot understand why there is such negative feedback for this restaurant on Yelp. Many other websites boast great reviews for Golden Wok. My other half and I order from them once or twice weekly, and the food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious tasting. I am not an easy grader and I have had the opportunity to dine at some of the finest restaurants around, but to me this restaurant is as good as it gets for Chinese food delivery or take out. They give large portions, delivery is quicker than anywhere else, and the person who takes my order is always kind and professional. One of the reviews below is written by a person who complains about greasy soup. Another person praises their soup. The only thing that makes sense to me is that some customers are overly critical about a $20-$30 dinner investment. This is not a fine dining establishment people! I've tried some of the other Chinese restaurants in the area but Golden Wok makes us happy every time.

Ordered some take out for delivery last night with trepidation after reading some of the past reviews, I thought the food was really good spring rolls were not greasy, nor was the egg roll had the roast pork with mushrooms which used real mushrooms not can, that's always a plus, pork was tender juicy and flavorful, curry beef was good but not as good roast pork though, curry sauce was not spicy enough, steamed dumplings were good also, overall good meal I would order from them again.

Well, I must say that they have the best egg drop soup that I have ever had. However, they seem to dredge all of their meat in flour regardless of the dish. Frying it would be fine but in dishes with sauces, it's just plain nasty. No one likes mushy, wet flour on their meat. They even put flour on the beef in their beef lo mein. Not good. Hope they read this.

First time ordering from here, I trusted the reviews and the food was the WORST Chinese food I've ever had!!!!!! We ordered the honey garlic chicken, the honey sauce was terrible also ordered the pork fried rice and chicken lo mein, tasteless and the hot & sour soup was the worst, greasy, not good at all!! Biggest waste of $24.00 with a $4 tip!!!! Won't ever order from this place again!!! Don't waste your money!! :( Yelps reviews have not been so on target lately, what's going on????

We generally like most Chinese places because they all taste a bit different. It's rare we've ordered Chinese and not liked it but tonight was the night. We ordered 2 spring rolls, 1 egg roll, spare ribs, shrimp lo mein, sweet n sour chicken, and wonton soup. We took a couple of bites of the food and ended up throwing out the entire order because it was that horrible. Spring Rolls - very oily Egg Roll - it was decent! Ribs - wet and tasteless Shrimp Lo Mein - noodles were very over cooked, stuck to each other and the shrimp had dry rub coming off of them and tasted horrible Sweet N Sour Chicken - disgusting, seemed too mushy Wonton Soup - didn't even bother trying it because everything else was disgusting We have never called a place back to let them know how horrible it was and almost did.....but didn't because even if they gave us a credit, we definitely would not want to eat there again :( The reason they got 1 star is because they were very polite on the phone when ordering and the order got here in very good timing!

Since I moved from the tri-state to Florida I have been on a mission to find really good chinese food, and finally i found it! I found this place as I was driving from work home and I must say they are definitely on point! I swear I have tried over 7 chinese delivery places in my area and they can never get it right. Golden Wok always remembers me and my usual Friday order now and I like them so much that I even pick up the order with no hesitation because they don't deliver to my area. They have authentic flavors, the veggies are always well cooked and not half raw like most places and they cook just like my favorite spots in Northern NJ!! Only thing I would change is that they add plantains to their menu like up north lol.

Had to feed five people and had no energy to deal with cooking. Stopped by Golden Wok and picked up three combination dinners. Chinese chicken and vegetable, chow mein, and honey chicken. I must say the food was very good. The veggies were fresh, meat tender was and good quality. The food was prepared quickly. Yes to this place. They do deliver and we will try that next time.

Picked up 3 food items, one of which was soggy, and no one wanted to eat it. Restaurant told me to drive it back to them. I offered to text a picture of it in the garbage rather than be inconvenienced further. They told me nothing could be done unless i drive it or they would refund 1/2 (approx $4). I said why drive it over so I can watch you throw it out? Told them I've been a customer since they opened. Manager didn't care. Told them they've lost a customer and I will never go back.

I'd first like to start by putting this "5 star" rating relative to the type of place it is. It's not an elegant dining in experience, nor is it meant to be. If you live in South Florida, especially in this restaurant's delivery radius, there are dozens of places like this. Mom and pop style Chinese takeout joints. If you live in one of the many apartment complexes in the area coming home to find a menu for a place like this on a rubber band on your door handle is a regular occurrence, so there are a lot of options to choose from. I've lived in the area for about 8 or 9 years now, have tried a good number of these places and Golden Wok is the only one I'll order from anymore. Everything tastes really good, and has everything that you'd typically find on most Chinese menus but executes on them way better. Being a fan of General Tao's chicken, every place has a slightly different sauce. At some of these places the General Tao's might not be as good as a similar orange or sesame chicken item. This place does General Tao justice. Portions are good, prices are decent, and the staff is very friendly and personable. As a regular customer they even notice and joke when I'm straying away from my usual selections. Aside from General Tao's chicken their dumplings and the dipping sauce it comes with are fantastic (meaty dumplings, bold/flavorful sauce), they're the only restaurant that seem to know how to make a good fried wonton, their fried rice is the most moist out of all the places I've tried in the area, and the sauce and beef used for common items like beef and broccoli or pepper steak are phenomenal. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone just looking for some quick easy Chinese take out. The only item I would say to maybe avoid is the bourbon chicken. It's not bad, one of the few chicken items that isn't breaded if you're looking for a change of pace, but it's not really sweet like "bourbon" chicken, at least what you'd get from competing restaurants. It's a "newer" (it's been there for a while, but not when I first started ordering there) that they likely threw on because it was requested. but level your expectations for this item and don't let it dictate your opinion on the experience.

I guess I can say I am so jaded by Chinese food delivery places i never expect one or any to be good. They have become just a last minute and lazy mans form of sustenance when pizza will not do. Well last night on the suggestion of my neighbor I tried Golden Wok and was blown away. Not so much because the food was good, and it was really good, but perhaps because I didnt expect it to be. The whole experience was really perfect with a easy and helpful person on the phone who actually made good suggestions. The delivery time was incredible, fast and the food was still hot. The food itself was superb with flavors of different dishes tasting unique, the vegetables and sauces fresh and delicious and the best part was that there was plenty of chicken in the dish. If your in Plantation and feeling lazy this is the spot for Chinese.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
