Kind of enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Place s getting a well deserved make over and the food was good . Enjoyed the pizza well done and crust new York style. Baked ziti was prepared the way I liked it. Garlic rolls are excellent and service was very helpful in my food decisions. Good local eatery. Definitely deserves a visit if in neighborhood

Used to get delivery from here once in a while, but one night we ordered food and were waiting for over an hour, so we called the restaurant. They said the order didn't go through?? Not sure how that happens, since we ordered over the phone. She said they had to redo the order, thus needed my credit card info yet again. I noticed on my credit card statement that they did in fact charge me twice, so I called and asked for the manager who assured me they voided that ticket and that it would show up on my statement a couple days later.... Sketchy. Well, two weeks passed, and still no reimbursement. When I called back, he sounded almost pissed off about the scenario and said if I wanted the money back I'd have to bring him my bank statement showing the two charges and he'd give me cash. My time is worth more than the $25. Now I just won't ever order from them again, and recommend that people DON'T waste their time or money supporting this place.

Placed a Togo order while on my lunch break with my coworker got back to our office and to my disgust MOLE allover the garlic rolls. Called to manager to complain and apparently he was to busy preparing more garlic rolls with black and green moles on it and could not get to the phone. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Bad food! Bad customer service!

I consider it a staple hometown Italian/pizza shop. Is the decor any good? Nope. Is the service fantastic? It's pretty good. But is the food consistent, fairly priced, and come in large portions? You bet! Personally, no one makes an eggplant rollatini like them. Plus, their pizza re-heats really well!

We enjoyed dinner there last night. The Eggplant Parm and the Chicken Marsala were quite tasty. Their garlic rolls were the best I've had and I have tried them at several other places. We were stuffed but had to try a Cannoli for dessert, and boy was that worth the calories. The service was great. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Prices were reasonable, atmosphere was typical pizza place and very clean. We will definitely be going back soon.

Cj's is kind of like eating at your old aunt Sally's kitchen. It's run down with almost a complete lack of decor and all the furnishing is flaking, cracked and on its last leg. You somewhat question the cleanliness, not because old aunt Sally has a reputation of being dirty, but just because shit is so old. But at the end of the day, you put looks aside because despite being minorly decrepit, aunt Sally makes you some yummy food... and driving to your younger/hipper aunt's house is too much of a hassle. So that's how it is. The place is in an strip mall that is just about as unglamourous as they come. Win-dixie AND Big Lots in one plaza?! SCORE. The interior matches the exterior in terms of ambiance - aka there is none and if you are looking for a place to take someone to totally unimpress them, this is it. But coming here for lunch, the service was totally on point. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and fast. The lunch specials were cheap, and my baked ziti cost $7.25 (maybe $7.50, cant remember exactly) and was a generous portion, served with 2 delicious garlic rolls. The baked ziti was extremely rich. The ricotta was super creamy and the sauce was really good. I definitely could not finish the dish and felt quite near bursting only half way through the dish, it was so rich (maybe a little too much so?). And the side salad that you can add for a dollar or so was a nice big one which was also very fresh. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal, so food get's the thumbs up.

Great italian food, nice staff. This is a mom and pop type strip mall restraunt. I find pizza is good, but pizza is heavily a matter of taste. (What isnt?). The italian meals are great. Never been disappointed, and have taken a number of people there. Usually pretty busy, so that should say something. Look on restaurant.com , and see if they have any good deals. I have friends that love to eat out and they go without cupons....so take that as anothrt recommendation. Also my Italian son in law....who is a great cook, told me it was the best italian he had in south florida.

I bookmarked this place based on the positive reviews. Besides, being in business for 30 years, you have to be doing something right, right??? I called to place an order for delivery. The gentleman who answered the phone (and probably shouldn't have) informed me they did not deliver until 5pm. I could understand this on a week day but a Saturday? So we changed it to a pick up order. We ordered a large cheese pizza, chicken parm sub, and eggplant parm lunch. The pizza looked good but it lacked flavor so I topped it with oregano, crushed pepper, and a little parm cheese. That was an improvement. The chicken parm sub was small and dry. While I don't like soggy bread, this sub left much to be desired. I was pretty full but wanted to give the eggplant a shot since that's my go to dish for a true Italian restaurant. Unlike most restaurants, that slice your eggplant thin they opted to cut it about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, breaded, and flavorless. It was a huge disappointment :-( I hate to say it but I think Olive Garden's eggplant parm is better and that's the antithesis of Italian food! I love supporting small business but this one just isn't it. I'm still on a quest to find the best little whole in the wall Italian place in Plantation...

I used to love to go to this restaurant until this... I sat down at 3:45, didn't get waited on until 3:57, then when I ordered lunch which they serve that until 4:00pm I was told that I had to pay the dinner price because the waitress didn't put it in the system until 4:01pm so the owner Pete told the waitress to tell me that I had to pay the dinner price. So I told the waitress they could fix it in the system since it was there mistake. It's not my fault she didn't put the order in until 4:01pm. She told me the owner Pete said he said he wouldn't do it, so I paid for my tea and went to another and better restaurant that treats their customers well, Olive Garden. Bye-bye Pete!

I've been to CJ's on many occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed my meal experience each and every time. Since I moved down to Florida several years ago I've come across many pizzerias who claim to serve "New York style pizza", but don't even come close to what I used to have up north. CJ'S TRULY MAKES NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA!!! The quality is so good and is easily the best pizza place at least in South Florida. Probably the best pizza I ever had, including when I used to live in New York; if not, then definitely in the top 3 or 4 places. I always order the 2 slice special which comes with free soda refills. As far as the service goes, the staff is very friendly, quick and efficient, and are extremely attentive to the customer's needs. One time I went for dinner and ordered the chicken parmigiana meal. While that dish wasn't the greatest I ever tasted, it was still pretty decent. I highly recommend anybody who is in the Plantation, Sunrise or surrounding areas to come down and enjoy CJ's food. If you're the type of person who has uppity tastes and likes fancy, schmancy atmospheres with ultra expensive decor, then you may be disappointed with your visit; but if you're an individual who likes down to earth homestyle service with a smile and good old fashioned "be sure to take care of the customer" attitude, then this place is definitely for you! The restaurant is located in a square strip mall and is easy to drive by if you're not aware of the exact location - right after NW 70th Ave on your right hand side if you're heading west on Broward Blvd.

Ive very close to giving this 5 stars but they screwed up my order. I ordered a Sicilian pizza and got a regular BUT let me say it was UNBELIEVABLE good!!! I just moved here and i always test a new pizza place with my favorite pizza which is ricotta cheese, mushroom, eggplant and fresh tomato. Ive ordered this pie from a dozen or more place and let me tell you the flavor of this pizza was superb! When i took my first bite i was almost taken aback by the great flavor. The sauce is to die for the mozzarella cheese was delicious, nice big piece of tomato. The delivery was also surprisingly quick. They said 45 and i think it was here in 30 or so minutes. Friendly delivery guy. I will def order from here for now on! OMG the sauce! Def gotta give this place a try

The best pizza in South Florida, hands down. I got turned on to this place when I worked in Plantation and some folks there ordered the pizza. I was hooked. Even though I now live in Coral Springs and it's a long drive, I make the trip as often as possible because nowhere else has pizza this good. I realize pizza is about personal preference...my thing is, most places don't put enough sauce on their pizza. CJ's has the right cheese/sauce/crust ratio. The garlic rolls are good, we had a fantastic antipasto there, and never had a problem with the service. But mostly, it's about the pizza.

I love this place. Pasta is great. Salads are great. Pizza is great. Canollis are AWESOME. Tiramisu is great. Mozzarella is fresh. I can't say enough good things. You gotta try this place. I've come on workout clothes & they have the best service. I will be a repeat customer for sure.

I honestly can't believe CJ's has bad yelp reviews! While it definitely is a hole in the wall family Italian Restaurant the food is delish!!! We used to only get take out from CJ'S at a friends house, but recently started dining in and sampling the menu other than the pizza. We have never been disappointed. Everything is very well priced and they have very large portions! Garlic rolls are amazing. Not in the least bit dry. Our favorite appetizer by far is the Brooklyn Style calamari. If you like spicy, this is definitely for you. We've also tried the Spinach roll and Sausage rolls. They are both amazing and ridiculously low priced at about $6! The pizza is very good, but I can't go there without having a Baked Ziti. The sauce that they use is just pure love! My husband usually gets the linguini with clam sauce and I always need to taste it. It's just so good! I should also mention the Stromboli is great! The small is enough to feed two people. The service at CJ's has always been superb. We usually have the same waiter and he's always excellent! CJs also is featured on restaurants.com where you can buy a discounted voucher to eat there. Definitely the best Italian in Plantation - Highly Recommend!

Short n sweet... Regular neighborhood Italian joint. Tasty standard dishes, average prices, large portions and good service. I had the chicken parm and salad, usual test for a homestyle spot. Balsamic Vinaigrette was delicious, chicken was well cooked and marinera was full of flavor. Server checked up on me a few times all good. $16 with drink. Their tomato-basil soup has almost a Parmesanish texture and flavor to it and is mind-blowing, especially when you dunk garlic rolls in it!

I was brought here with some family for the first time. The place is like all the other average American Italian restaurants I have been to. The interior is average, the food is average, and the service is below average. Nothing seemed very cleanly to me, that is at least the vibe I got from the whole place(Garlic butter pot was right behind our booth and it splashed onto my aunt). The waitress took forever to bring the food and refill the drinks. The bus boy ended up having to come back a few times to help her out. On to the food, the rolls weren't bad. They weren't anything to rave about though. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food. My chicken sandwich had a laughable piece of chicken breast on it and tons of cheese( the exact opposite of what I wanted). It took another 20mins after we finished to get out check. Ive been told the lunch is a good deal, lets hope its better than dinner. Overall, Slow service, decent food, and awful decor.

Walked by and decided on this place over the Cuban joint next door. I ordered the gyro platter lunch special. The meal was standard tasting... Nothing special but not bad tasting. I didn't like that the pita was quartered, so I could not make a folded sandwich with it. It reminded me of a deconstructed gyro, with fries. The price was fair, for the portion.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
