This was my first time to Pollo Tropical. I received a coupon in the mail and thought I would check it out. My friend suggested a tropichop, so I ordered a pork tropichop with 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 lettuce. I was glad I got the small it was a perfect size. On top of bowl of rice, lettuce, pork, tomatoes, sauteed onions, corn. The meat was moist and flavorful. They had lots of sauce choices. I chose the guava bbq which was sweet and spicy. Honestly the tropichop didn't need the sauce but it was a nice addition. I received free tostones. They were served very hot. I haven't tried many tostones in my life but these were tasty. I also asked for cilantro lime sauce that I dipped the tostones in, which I definitely suggest. I ordered at the drive thru which was fast. They also have online ordering. Pollo Tropical also has great prices especially for the portion size.

So today was the second visit to Pollo Tropical. My first visit was pleasant, however I did not understand what I was ordering and I got some stuff we cannot have. My fault. So today I decided to order online. Process was easy enough. I went and picked up the order and when I got to the cashier she was not at all friendly. She then told a coworker that the online pick up was here. I saw what I thought was my bag of food, but was sitting next to hot food. I ordered salads. After what seemed like longer, but was about 4-5 minutes another associate asked if I was the pick up order. She then slid the bag across the counter to me. I checked my order and notice that my requests were not met. I asked for no cheese on either salad. Both had cheese. The Caesar salad had both the dressing and Parmesan cheese all over it. My fault that I didn't realize they put the dressing directly on the salad. But when I asked to have it remade with out the cheese I also asked for the dressing on the side. Well guess what didn't happen. They remade my salad and put the dressing in it. I was not asking for it to be remade again. Not one associate ever greeted me or said hello. This was the opposite of my first experience.
Find somewhere else to eat, honestly. I haven't eaten at a restaurant with a drive-thru window in over 2 years and I made an exception for my buddy that loves Pollo Tropical. He owes me a solid now :). I found the food to be hot, but I am unsure of wether or not it was fresh at all. I covered it in a guava BBQ sauce so I could get it down. There was also a condiment bar that was dirty and not so appetizing. I just find it hard to dip sauces into plastic cups at a fast food joint. I am sorry to be a downer about this place but I just have found in my life that more often than not, places with drive-thru windows are not great for your palate.

I'm a pescatarian, so "pollo" is not in my diet. I ventured here with co-workers on lunch yesterday because I know they have vegetarian options. When we arrived, the place was not busy at all. Service was slow, however, the food came out fast. I ended up ordering the vegetarian rice bowl. I wanted all veggies on it. What I ended up getting was a bowl with rice corn, and red peppers. What happened to the other veggies I wanted? By the time I realized this, the lunch rush came in and I didn't have time to have them remake it. I did eat it and thought the items were cooked okay, but I wasn't blown away. Again, I don't eat chicken, so I can't comment on it. But my guy tells me we would have been better off at an authentic Caribbean restaurant.

Only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is well, it's not a "5-Star Restaurant". After all, although not your typical "fast food" joint it is good food fast! I eat here everytime I pass by and am hungry. The xhicken is always hot and fresh. The flacor is fantastic. It is actually similar to chicken I used to get at the open air grills in Mexico City in La Zona Rosa. The flavor is almost identical. I have also tried the Mojo Pork = excellent I really stick to their chicken as it is THE BEST GRILLED CHICKEN ANYWHERE AROUND! WARNING!!!! ALL POLLO TROPICALS ARE NOT EQUAL! THIS ONE IS CLEAN, STURDY PLASTIC DISHES, REAL FLATWEAR AND THE STAFF ARE WONDERFULLY FRIENDLY AND READY TO HELP! NOT SO IN ORLANDO. If you are hungry and want fresh food that is actually healthy and good for uou, eat here and skip the McD, BK, Wndy etc. You will be happy you did! I am on a low carb diet and although I love the beans and rice, platanos etc, i stick to the half chicken all white with no sides!

I was actually pretty impressed with this place. My wife and I came in after a long day of exploring parks not really knowing what to expect. The prices were reasonable ($5 - $8 / person) and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant as a whole was very clean and had a fun tropical music track playing. The menu was easy to understand, and there was a free salsa bar with lots of sauce options. This was no El Pollo Loco (a staple on the west coast), but it will be in our quick meal rotation!

When it comes to fast food this isn't greasy fast food. It's tastes much better than that. This is one of the few Pollo Tropical spots I've been to that the service was good and the restaurant was clean. Reasonably priced and tasteful for fast food. It's nice to look behind the counter and see the chicken/meat cooking rather than being microwaved like at most fast food spots.

This place and food reminds me e growing up in the Caribbean. The arroz con pollo and plantanos taste like back home. The sauces are good too: especially the guava barbeque.
You can eat healthy here! No burger zone. No tipping the server who delivers the food, but I wanted to, Summer was polite and efficient. Try the pork loin, which was cooked with onions. Fast food quick! Healthy sides like tomatoes in balsamic. Only bad item was the roll--stale. But I should not eats carbs anyway.

I loved the limited time tangy pineapple chicken wrap! I'm definitely going back for that! The yellow rice was bland though and the cheese empanadas tasted more like a mozzarella stick. The Cheese empanadas were good but let's be real they were nothing like a real empanada. I've only been here once or twice now but I definitely know why the restaurant is called Pollo Tropical. It's known for the chicken w a tropical flare - tangy pineapple chicken wrap it is!

Somewhat different fast food, with similar fast food service. If you're from the Midwest, it's kind of a tourist experience, and the chicken and rice dishes are "A-OK" just like the three star category of YELP. Bathrooms are kept clean, and the workers are no less jaded than those of other fast food locations.

Unimpressed. Went there with a coworker who has assured me that I "must try this place", because I have never been there before. The line to order lunch was about 5 people and moved at a quick pace. Since I've never been, I just ordered what I saw as their special, chicken and avocado burrito. I didn't want it as a meal and was pleasantly surprised when I was only charged $4 and some change. It should've given me a clue about the size, but it always seems that burritos at other places are huge and I often can't finish them. My companion ordered a bowl. She raved about how one can choose the toppings and how delicious it all comes out. Besides the fact that the burrito was tiny, it barely had any chicken. I had to use lots of sauce to add flavor to it too. I would've gotten something else, but the line was long and we had to leave. I will give this place another try, but it won't be a burrito next time.

This is my second time coming here in 2 years. The first time was great, so now I'm back. When we first walked in, my girlfriend and I both ordered the 2 piece boneless chicken plate. We had black beans and white rice, with a bread roll along the side. When we ordered, the cashier wasn't very nice and never smiled at us. It was very un-inviting. Our food was awesome, and I went to go check out the sauce bar they had. An employee named Madeline recommended a couple of different sauces and was very nice and outgoing. I would've given this 5 stars, but the cashier (the first person you talk to when you come in) wasn't very pleasant. So 4 stars for the great food, fun and comfortable atmosphere, and the other employee who was nice.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Honestly I never had any desire to come here but my dad did, and I'm glad for it. The prices are incredibly reasonable. We got fajita shrimp salads for 6$ and my dad got a sangria for $2.50. He said it was really good and he's a tough critic. They have a condiments bar which is always exciting. If you're going for the meal choices (instead of the salads or other stand-alone items), you get to choose a meat and some sides. Choices are also always fun. We also got TWO containers of salad dressing with our salad, whereas most places are stingy and only give you one. The restaurant was clean, even in the bathroom. Can't really ask for more.

Good food, great prices. Staff are normally very nice. I'm in love with their corn souffle! Restaurant could be a little cleaner, but not sure if we just came right after a rush or something. Floor was wet, they were out of tea, tables were dirty. This would not deter me from not coming again though.

Fresh grilled food and grill to table service. Its like a mix between fast food and casual dining with a cheap price tag. After you order, they bring the food to your table on plates with real silverware. You don't have to buss your place when done, and tips are not accepted. They also have a drive through though, in case you are in a real hurry/drive by.

I've been to this location twice. Each time, it seems the order takers/cashiers hate life, hate you, and want nothing more than to make your visit difficult. As I said, two times I have visited, both times my entire table's orders were wrong - and to clarify, not the actual order, but we receive the wrong food. Here's why this should never happen. I'm not sure how it works at other Pollo Tropicales, but you are given a table order number placard which stands on a pedestal at the table, so that when you sit down - a food runner takes the ticket and matches the number on the order they have, to the order placard sticking up in the air in front of their face. I realize there is an illiteracy issue in the U.S....but when you cant match up numbers - western civilization has decayed past repair. As I sit and look at a steaming pile of something knowing it's not mine, and the grimace on the irritated runners face as to why I am not taking it, I ask her to look at the order number to match it with my table. She looks down, and does that familiar snap of tongue and lips, disgusted at me for not ordering what she was serving. As I sit and remain waiting for my slow, Latin fast food, it finally arrives. Cold, coagulated, contemptible. It can't be this hard to match numbers to customers' orders right...? I mean, the system is in place to retard mistakes and get hot food out to customers. They can't even get that right - and the food is bland, season-less, and dry (meat). Oh well....thankfully there are 12 other restaurants in this parking lot.

Had been wanting to go to Pollo Tropical for a year since I heard of Fiesta Restaurant Group. I wanted to see why the stock had risen so much! I was curious how it compared with Chipotle, Qdoba and other similar restaurant chains. There aren't any Pollo Tropical's out in California yet so I got lucky to try one on a recent vacation to Florida. It was a good experience and worth the wait. We had a tropichop and a few sides. The prices are pretty cheap and all the sauces are nice to add flavor. I need to go back to experience more of the menu. Pollo Tropical has a unique mixture of fast food and set-down dining. The dining room is good size and your experience begins with going through a small switchback queue to place your order. The menu is above the counter and offers menu items like: the Tropichop (like a rice bowl), chicken meals, soup, salad, and family meals. All with a Spanish style mixture including yellow rice and beans. Once you place your order you are given a number on a stand that ensures your order will find you. Then it is off to the condiments bar which has items like: onions, jalapeno, hot and mild salsa, etc. I had a chicken Tropichop with brown rice and corn then topped it with onions and a mixture of the hot and mild salsa. The chicken is very flavorfully tender with a hint of smokey grilled almost mesquite taste and cut into small mouth size pieces. The brown rice and corn were savory additions providing a uniqueness from the smooth texture of the rice combined with the sweetness of the corn. This was further topped off with the spicy succulent combination of the mild and hot salsa combined. A great combination! The location was clean and the tables were cleared quickly. This seemed to be in part due to that they provide table service when bringing your food. You are only responsible for getting your drink. This type of table service brings the staff into the dining room frequently that allows for monitoring and prompt table bussing. One of the best things on the menu was their family menu. It seemed like you could order a family meal for under $30 that would feed four. Pollo Tropical also offers "Pollo Rewards" that with signing up with your email and telephone number they will provide you with coupons and or deals. Unfortunately the Rewards program is also one of those refer a friend program. Not necessarily my favorite things (chain-mail and such). For the price and variety I will be continuing to visit.

I have only eaten here once, but across the board the food was dry. Even the dark meat chicken simply lacked moisture. The menu sounds interesting enough but adding salt to provide flavor does not cover up when meat is cooked too long. There are simply too many options for grilled chicken to give this place another chance.

Excellent food as always. We stop in here whenever we are on vacation. It's all about the chicken. And the rice. And the fried sweet plantains...
Pollo has been a good restaurant 90% of the time. There have been times where the chicken had been dry or burnt, and sometimes the portion sizes aren't worth the value, but if you come in at a good time the staff will pack your container with food. Even though I'm not fond of the small-sized wraps their food is generally good and fairly healthy at a decent price.

Pollo tropical has really tasty food! Espesh if you loves some rotisserie chicken! Gotta try the corn soufflé uhh-yumm! Oh And the pineapple rum sauce just drown all your food in it :D I've been here several times, walk-in, drive-thru... I've had my order messed-up once but they were cool about it and really-- I think it's a bad move to write off an establishment for little hiccups like that- I know everyone is touchy when it comes to being the paying customer.. But, even for me, I have to remind myself to be patient- it's not the end of the world.. Sheesh! They are people too! AND they're handling your food! All in all, the food is great!

This place is great. I had the wings with corn soufflé & plantains. I can't believe it's fast food. It taste just like a home cooked meal!
