MAmazing food for the prices and quantity! We had a full bbq rib meal, a full 2 meat 'combo' meal that came with 2 large sides and 2 appetizers (small size fried green tomatoes and nothing small about it) and also order of fried pork skins (also huge) and 2 beverages for $23, yes $23 AMERICAN DOLLARS. I wasn't crazy about the chicken in my meal but I don't generally like breast because it always seems dry to me so I should have specified what piece I wanted, but the flavor seemed good. The ribs...to die for. They were not "fall off the bone" as the menu states (I prefer to gnaw the meat off mine so I thought they were perfect) very moist and tender with a delicious smokiness and multiple delicious homemade bbq sauces from which to choose. Cole slaw was good, it was very fresh and not drowning in dressing which is good but otherwise pretty average. The only thing I didn't care for was the potato salad. It didn't taste homemade so if it was it just wasn't my "style" of potato salad ( too much " stuff" in it and too sweet for my taste.) Fried tomatoes were just okay but you couldn't beat the price, if in the mood I would get them again. Same for the fried pork skins, good but even better for the price. If in the area there is no question I would stop here again. Place could have been a touch cleaner but it was little things not big things so not a deal breaker.

Delicious, good-ole Southern BBQ. Take the back road and make a stop here for sure! They even have a drive-thru for those in a rush. ;) The ribs and pulled pork sandwich are awesome!

Yes, Yes, Yes, one-thousand-times YES! Before living in the NW I lived in two BBQ states (Florida and Oklahoma). Yeah, you can get good BBQ up here but you really have to hunt for it and it's often overly gourmet/fu-fu and a bit pricey. While I was in Florida for Christmas I wanted to tag the state high point (as a mountaineer I figured this would be a good way to stay in shape over Christmas)...problem is it's quite a drive from where my parents live. I saw that Perry, FL was roughly the half-way point. As we were driving through town, me and brother got HANGRY. So I fired up Yelp and found this place. So, so glad I did that. The portions are huge, the quality is awesome, and the service makes you feel like you're part of the family. It's hard enough to find BBQ in the NW that fulfills one of these, let alone all three! For less than $10 I got: ribs, beef, pork, AND chicken! Oh, and TWO sides..on and TWO pieces of Texas Toast...oh, and COBBLER for dessert (you have to ask for the cobbler, and if you do...they bring it out FOR FREE) My only complaint was that their "hot" BBQ sauce was a bit funky and could've used some more heat.

I came in on a Friday night by myself. All the tables were full so I waited a couple of minutes and took a booth in the back. I ordered the rib special. The ribs were awesome as well as the service! The service was actually really great compared to the reviews. The blueberry cobbler was like a yummy blueberry muffin. The fried green tomatoes were just ok as well as the sweet potato, however extra pts for the brown sugar and cinnamon it comes with, mmm! With prices so low and delicious sauce choicesI will totally be back!

Stopped in here for lunch as I was passing through town on travel. The service was very friendly and the food cheap, but delicious. For an appetizer, I ordered fried pork skins with ranch and BBQ seasoning mixed, as suggested by my waitress. They were very fresh and tasty and came out crackling, which I thought was neat. I got the ribs at 2 pm, and was hesitant that they may not have been cooked long enough to be tender, but they were sufficiently tender and had a great flavor. Okra and sweet potato fries were yummy. Would definitely stop here again if I was in town. I couldn't believe how much food I got for as little as I paid.

Upon the KOA Campground recommendation and YELP reviews we ordered take out from Goodmans of a rack of ribs, and fried green tomatoes. Must say the portion size is generous and a bargain. The ribs are Not fall of the bone tender nor are they baby back ribs. Tasty, but not tender. The FG tomatoes were delicious. The decor is spartan and sure can use an update and thorough cleaning. The kitchen area is visible from the cashier area. The doors and frames dirty, food on the floor, not a good impression of cleanliness.

In the area for a week, decided to try the best rated BBQ. When you pull up, it's a pretty old looking building. We weren't even sure if it was open. It was. Went in sat down and received our menus. Wow, couldn't believe the prices. Made us wonder if the food could really be very good. I ordered the 3/4 lb ribs with two sides. Excellent and less than $9. If you eat in house, you also get a small serving of either blueberry or peach cobbler. Hubby had the smoked turkey, again less than $9. He commented that you probably couldn't even buy that much turkey in a deli for that price. Service was excellent. Be forewarned, the seating is in hard wooden benches. So, don't let the building deter you. This was a great find.

Like many other Yelpers, I stopped in here on my travels. What a great find! Great BBQ at a cheap price. Their sauces are home-made too. Think my beef brisket sandwich, drink and sides was less than 5 bucks. That's some pretty fine eating for pretty cheap! Next time I'm going after the baby backs!

Great BBQ and prices! Outdated interior. No wander it is a local favorite. We were traveling through and it was a great pick!

I found the service incredibly friendly and quick! I had their Friday special. 3/4 lbs of their amazing fall-off-the bone ribs with a great smoky flavour. My fave was their sweet sauce. I had potato salad, coleslaw and garlic toast. It was generous and delicious. Oh...and free peach cobbler to go that was included with the dinner. All for $8. I couldn't believe it! If you're ever in the area, it's absolutely worth the stop!

We took the advice of other Yelpers and stopped for real Southern BBQ. So glad we did! Two of us ate all the way through dessert for $18! Salad had mixed greens, baked beans were homemade and to die for! Blueberry and peach cobbler were just the right bite of sweetness to end our meal. Nice and friendly people. Make this your stop on 98!

The barbecue ribs are absolutely fantastic. Everything we had was very tasty and the service was very good. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired but it's still worth a stop. The prices are unbelievably low, I almost felt like I was back in the 1960's.

This is the real deal. Food is very good, we had salad w 1 meat and a 3 meat combo last night for dinner and I came back for lunch today. Enough said, a must stop when in Perry.

This place really does prove the adage that the best BBQ is in small towns and dives..When I drive from Tally to Tampa and back I always notice the crowds of people and cars in the parking lot and made a note to stop here some time to eat when the time was right..One Friday it worked out and we stopped for lunch...place was packed but we did not have to wait...service was that small town Florida-Friendly where all the girls call ya "Sugar" or "Hon" and they all help each others tables out if they see you need something..definitely has the feel of a family run place...as for the food I got the Friday Special which was Ribs..One Side..Slaw and Texas Toast for the ridiculously low price of 5.99 or 6.99...others got Chopped Pork Sandwiches for some crazy low price also...I was a little leery with the low prices but the food came out and it was all very good. The BBQ Ribs were tender fall off the bone with the right amount of char and most importantly were not covered up in sauce..the sides(beans and fries) were also very good...they had 2 or 3 BBQ Sauces on the table as well that you could try and all were on point...the three of us had meals and 3 sweet teas and our check barely topped 20 dollars..got to love those small town prices!!...do yourself a favor if driving thru Perry and experience real "Old-School" Florida and some good food and stop here instead of going through the drive-thru at some characterless fast food place

We were driving down Hwy 19 S, when we saw a local place that was filled to the brim with jacked up trucks and 4x4's. The sign outside had a pig near a camp fire and the sign said BBQ. So we thought to ourselves, hell lets try this place, looks like a local favorite. So we went in all the people nodded and said hello, very friendly people. Very kid friendly atmosphere, basically what you'd expect in a small southern town. We sat down and ordered our food, BBQ Ribs, Chicken and pulled pork, hush puppies, corns and ..... CORN FRIED FRITTERS. All of it was great, it was a wonderful place to stumble upon. And I have to say I'm now a BIG fan of fried corn fritters!

De-freaking-licious. BBQ on garlic bread. Doesn't get any better. Sadly, they were out of banana pudding. So I got pecan pie.

This is our second annual stop at Goodman's. The food is plentiful and tasty. The waitstaff is friendly and engaging. If you follow "The Parking Lot is full" method of restaurant choosing, you will end up here every time. We read the reviews for some other local establishments, and even pulled up to two of them. Still, their parking lots were nearly empty, and the menu's weren't really that enticing. We did not regret our eventual stop at Goodman's. Believe the advertising ~ the fried green tomatoes are yummy! The Brunswick stew is tasty ~ but not their best item. It has quite a smoky taste. The Smokestack is delicious, and easily enough for two. You also cannot go wrong with the barbecue plates. All in all a welcome break from traveling down Highway 19. Can't say enough about the staff ~ they're incredibly nice and quite efficient.

A staple to Perry and a place I go to every time I am in town. Really good authentic BBQ and a really low price. Not really a upscale joint, but as long as you don't expect that going in then you wont mind. Lunch specials are always good. Standard pork/beef/chick dinner or sandwiches are always good. They have three types of BBQ sauce so you'll definitely find one that suites you. It gets pretty crowded at certain times. People are friendly.

Very good BBQ and all the deep south fried okra etc you will want. Very comfortable restaurant with lots of seating. Good prices and quick service. Could give a little more detail to cleaning but hey, it is a BBQ.....

Arrived at noon, place was packed, got the last seat in the place, waited 10 minutes for a menu and drink. Got the 4 meat combo, ribs, 1/4 chicken, sliced pork and beef with a salad, baked beans and server brought out cole slaw instead of the potato salad I ordered. Salad was fresh, baked beans were great as well as was the pork and beef, ribs were average but the chicken was dry. The sauces were good. If I go back, I'll get the beef and pork sandwich,

I think my sister could prepare me a BBQ pork sandwich that would have been tastier and better prepared. Just sayin'. The BBQ pork sandwich from Goodman's is a great idea in theory- slices of pork with barbeque sauce sandwiched between two slices of garlic bread. How great does that sound? Unfortunately, this concept sounded way better in my mind than it did when I actually ate the thing. It was accompanied by a small bowl of potato salad that was kind of mushy but fairly tasty. I have had much better, even up North [insert sad face]. If I was ever in Perry again, I may give this place another shot and try the ribs or something that is not a sandwich.

Good family style BBQ restaurant. I wandered in late at night and the staff made me feel at home even though I was not local.... Had the 3/4 ribs - they were awesome. Not too dry, not too gooey, and even without the sauce the taste was great. Try the mustard based sauce - lit us my taste buds w/o being over powering. The sweet tea is very good - like the old days - sweet but not sugar sickening sweet. I also recommend the salad. Got it with blue cheese - I think they use a meat slicer on the various greens.. very unique. Pricing is remarkable - wish they were closer to home. ... and that I had a bigger stomach to try the pies.

After a long drive heading across the country we finally start heading south to our new home and the scent of BBQ drew us in to Goodman's. This is as real as it gets. Friendly staff and great BBQ. Everything was delicious from the sides to the bone tender meats to the dessert. My favorites were the ribs and the corn fritters. The only thing we ate that wasn't good was the fried greed tomatoes. We found them greasy with too little tomato.

You need to visit this place, fall off the bone tender meats, and AMAZING smoke flavor. this place is about as good as it gets. Oh yeah did I mention that the prices are also AMAZING, the four meat sampler (ribs, chicken, beef, pork) comes with two sides, garlic bread, and a cobbler all for less than ten bucks!! Super Friendly staff , and all around great atmosphere. I'll be back for sure!!! they do not serve any alcohol though, but the sweet tea was great!
