I'm updating my review to remove a star because the buffet has not lived up to its previous reputation, IMO, during my several last visits. The selection *never* changes, I've discovered, a lot of the food has not been hot and as fresh tasting as it had been, and the service has been really lackluster.

wow. finally a decent asian place to eat. at first glance, the place looks scary from the outside, but once you sit down and eat, the food is surprisingly good, especially for a buffet style place! Good variety of food in the buffet, green chicken curry and pad thai were my two favorites, food was hot and fresh when we went. They even sell some Thai food there - like the thai tea ice tea I enjoy drinking at the restaurant :) would definitely go back to try ordering off their regular menu :)

My favorite Asian buffet in Pensacola. The chicken curry and pineapple rice are excellent and they have these spicy/sweet chicken wings that top things off very nicely. Recommended!

Alway a great place to eat. Fresh and clean. The owners are very nice. I would recommend this to everyone.

Not casting stones at some other reviewers; but seriously people, good solid Thai food, on a buffet, about eight dollars. The fact that you're dining in what used to be one of those car-washes where you walk along and watch your vehicle get scrubbed down by machinery merely adds to the goodness.

Absolutely one of my favorite resturaunts in Pensacola! It is a buffet and it is attached to a car wash, but don't let that scare you away because the food is amazing

When I was a college student in Pensacola (pre-hurricane Ivan,) this was my favorite place for lunch when the parents were in town. The lunch buffet was about $5, and it's got A CARWASH attached to it! There's a large window on one side of the restaurant (behind a screen, if this isn't your thing) so you can watch cars go through. I've only had one bad experience here -- when I brought guests who had never tried Thai before too -- but it was the exception to the rule.

Ugh - I'm hesitant to even give Siam Thai 3 stars. Granted, this is Pensacola's one and only Thai restaurant so I really have to take what I can get right now, but still. This is NOT good Thai food. Ordering off the menu is definitely better than the buffet in terms of food quality. Then again, the Thai buffet is kind of exciting for Pcola and I definitely enjoy it when I have it. The problem is that I know just how good Thai food can be, and this just doesn't live up. I won't say don't eat there, but I will caution you to not think that this is a good representation of the cuisine.

  • Gabriel A.

I was hesitant to give this place four stars, the location of restaurant will throw you off if your new to the PCola, thinking that its eatery inside gas station. Location aside, Siam Thai offer a good variety of food in its buffet providing the opportunity for patrons that might be picky a chance to sample what they have on there menu. If your famished go for the buffet, otherwise just order straight from the menu.

Now the only Thai restaurant in Pensacola, Siam Thai definitely delivers a great Thai meal. Their super-fresh buffet is great for sampling common Thai dishes if you're new to the cuisine, or if you just can't settle on one dish. I highly recommend the coconut soup, the vegetarian spring rolls, and the panang. Excellent option for vegans and vegetarians! Also, Siam Thai also offers tons of great gifts made in Thailand... so, more bang for your buck.

a good thai restaurant for the pensacola area. not as good as jasmine fusion, but for the price, you can't really beat it. especially for the lack of ethnic food in the pensacola area.

The buffet is no longer all-day. There is now a lunch buffet on weekdays and dinner buffet on weekends and Fridays. My family did not try the menu items because the appeal of this place was its buffet. Disappointed in the lack of weekday dinner buffet options in this town.

  • Camille B.

I've enjoyed my meals here in the past, but last night (Friday) the buffet was awful. I won't go again. The rice noodles have been replaced with pasta and the egg rolls were so greasy I had to drain on a napkin. And, the price is $3 more (10.95) after 3:30 for the same stuff that has been there since lunch. Three of us were the only ppl there so I guess they will get the message soon about their lost quality! Just awful!

On weekday dinner we came to try thai food here and everything was very very slow, food is not good too ! If came to pensacola, we won't came here again for sure

Thai style Decor with Chinese buffet set up, food is warm to cold, taste decent in small doses, some things in buffet I wouldn't touch. I had a orange chicken type dish that was luke warm and tasted ok, my wife had rice and chicken that she said was hot, but wasn't very tasty, also had egg rolls, they were ok and the sugar bread tasted good. Initially gave restaurant 3 stars, but after digesting my food and thinking about it, moved down to 2 stars

Was in town at Pensacola Beach and decided to try it out. I came in on a thursday for dinner. I never had a Thai buffet before so I didn't know what to expect. But it was actually very good. I really enjoyed the coconut soup and the basil chicken. They had some Chinese dishes and sushi rolls. Sushi rolls looked like they been there for a long time. Most of the food seemed to be pretty fresh as they brought out small portions of it. If they were out of something in the buffet, the waiter was cool about cooking something for you. The thai tea was good as well. I highly recommend it if your in town and craving some Thai food.

I was heading on a long drive from Savanna Ga to Gulfcoast Mississippi when I decided to find some Thai food. I pulled at a rest stop and tried to locate a place close off I-10 using my yelp app. I also needed a much needed break since I had been on the road over 6 hours. I chose this place because it was not to far from my last destination and looked not to far from the Intetstate. When I got here I was greeted by a nice young man. It was around 8pm and getting kinda dark. I asked where the restroom was and noticed there was no toilet paper in the stall. The building was big and dreary with no windows or natural light. There was one other patron in restaurant. When I went to get seated the booth seat and table were wobbly. I asked to move. I was told I could sit anywhere. Since I had shorts on I tried to find a booth where the leather on the seat wasn't ripped up. Most all the booth seats had ripped up seats. I asked for my favorite which is Thai tea and red curry. The Thai tea was brought to me was very bland and barely sweet at all. It was also very light in color. I really didn't feel comfortable or relaxed. The atmosphere was glum. I then asked for my food to be packaged to go and figured I would eat on the road or in the parking lot. When I received my food I left and ate some as soon as I got to the car. I was pleasantly happy that it was actually very good. I gave this review 3 stars for good food but not a very appealing dining atmosphere.

I'm giving 4 stars because of the price. Not sure where else you can go for 8$ and try a few different dishes for lunch. It's a buffet, so to me it seems reasonable that there is a little less flavor compared to typical Thai dishes (I lived in Asia for 4 years, I know Thai hot, it is hot!!!) however the Thai condiment bar means you can hook it up (if you want :)). The service is decent, always very friendly, I like that I see all kinds of folks in there. Pensacola expanding their palates! There is a free cooking class on Monday- admittedly I have never pulled off cooking a Thai dish, so I'm gonna try it out! Review to follow :)

We dined at this location based upon the positive reviews of others. While we are all entitled to our own opinions, mine is that the food is mediocre at best. We dined the buffet at lunchtime (11:30) while they were still putting out hot and fresh dishes. Respectfully, we tried almost every dish offered. Most were more sweet than anything else. Strong flavors of coconut and sugar. The spicy dishes were... Not spicy. All of them were sort of one note. We skipped the desserts because of how unappetizing they appeared but they did have a few different options. The worst soup was the overly sweet coconut and tofu dish which I've enjoyed in several other Thai restaurants. Siam Thai's best aspect is the staff who were very courteous and helpful. The establishment itself is located in a strange building attached to a gas station (they are separate though). There are tacky and eclectic decorations throughout but at the same time you feel comfortable and welcome. I personally would not dine at this location again, nor would my lunch guest, but that's not to say that others wouldn't LOVE it. I was basically looking for more exotic flavors and spices that I've enjoyed in many other Thai dishes. If you like your savory food sweet - this is your place. And for the record I know that coconuts can be sweet - but this wasn't coconut sweet it was... SUGAR sweet.

Siam Thai is now on my list of "go-to" places in Pensacola. It's been in Pensacola for about 10 years and I can't believe it's taken me this long to try it. Maybe its because its attached to a car wash and gas station... The food is amazing! It is a buffet style restaurant but I think you can also order specific dishes if you wish. (they have a take-out near Walmart a few blocks North) The buffet is made in small batches to keep it fresh and it certainly does. I think I sampled everything in the buffet and didn't find anything that I didn't like. The wait staff was VERY friendly and it has a "Mom and Pop" kind of feel to it. As soon as you get past the semi-strip-mall/car wash/gas station, you will be glad you decided to eat here!

This is a nice little find in Pensacola. It's behind a gas station so you have to be looking. It's the first Thai buffet I've ever seen, but it's actually really good. Had the spring rolls, cashew chicken, and some curry chicken w/ veggies. They have a spice stand that lets you go as mild or wild as you like. I eat here about once a week when I'm in town.

  • Richard M.

I found most of the food dry and overcooked. The building is run down and is in severe need of fixing up. Our table was at least 15 degrees off level. I wont be back.

My thoughts on this restaurants are "meh" It's not a bad place but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. I had the pad Thai and it was pretty good. The only thing is that they didn't offer spicy food so that's the thing that my pad Thai was missing.

  • Sand S.

The buffet is ok however I usually order off the menu for dinner. If you choose the buffet dont go right when they open for lunch as it takes awhile to get the buffet stocked. Chicken pad thai is always good but the real special treat is the ambience, as long as like car washes.

I've been here before and always enjoyed the food. The buffet was nice, but this time was different. As we were enjoying our noddles, my daughter noticed a roach in her noddles. See picture. That totally turned us off from eating here again. They were nice enough not to charge us. If you decide to go here again, please look over your food carefully!

  • Kimberly R.

If you order to go food make sure you're not on an hour lunch break because the wait time is between 25-30 minutes. Probably won't come here for lunch again while I'm working.

Visiting my boyfriend's family in Pensacola, we wanted to try a Thai buffet since we tried out Chinese buffet already. I love Thai food, but this was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Walked in and there was no one in front to greet us so we waited and looked at the buffet and we saw minimal selections (I think this was a sign for us to leave before getting seated). I've eaten at plenty of Thai restaurants and this is by far the worse. Food was cold, dry, flavorless and had some weird distinct taste like it was leftovers. We definitely did not get our money's worth. Honestly, save your money and go somewhere else because there's plenty of other buffet in Pensacola.

This place was really good. The pad Thai was awesome! If i lived in Pensacola I would be going her a lot for sure. I like how the ""please wait to be seated" sign is covering a girl statue's chest lol

Made a run back to Siam Thai with a friend a couple weeks ago and nothing has changed on the buffet. I still love their coconut milk soup, but nothing else on the bar is particularly good. There aren't any other Thai buffets in town, but between Bangkok Garden and Siam Thai (in front of the Wal-Mart on Creighton RD) there is really no reason to eat there...

I don't want to waste my time writing a review on this place, it's just not worth it. If you have low standards then I'm sure you will like it this place. The food is decent at best, there aren't a lot of options. Most everything seem to have tofu in it, not a fan of tofu.

BUFFET BUFFET!!! YAY! So I love my brown girls! They are amazing!! :) 5 of us ladies trekked to this Thai buffet for some brown girl comfort food. They have spring roll with peanut sauce, egg roll, curries, tom yum soup, coconut soup, pad Thai, fried rice, and sooooo much more! Delicious!! After a couple rounds I let one of the ladies know I was full, she said, "suppress it!" So I kept going to make her proud. It was awesome! The food is delicious and it is endless. It is just a step below if it was made to order, but up to par for me!! That night was great! Lots of laughs and a nice spot to start our evening of ladies night!

AUTHENTIC So here's 2 things that many Americans don't know about Thai food. 1) Spring rolls can come in crunchy fried wrap or a clear, sticky, condom-like soy wrap. Both are delish. 2) Curries on a scale of Spicyness: In Amerca= Yellow (mild), Red (medium), Green (hot!) In SE Asia = Yellow (mild), Green (medium), Red (hot!) Bearing that in mind, this place got a home run. The owner obviously was a street vender in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. The taste and texture of the pad thai, rice and spring rolls confirms my thinking. And in Thailand, you don't regularly eat in a restaurant. The street food is better tasting, available and always cheaper. The pad thai was exactly what I'm used to from the street food in Thailand and the curries and soups were perfect! This chef knows his food. Especially the green curries and coconut soup. They even had tapioca ready in the desert section! Yes I will admit, it did have a small sushi tray available, but it was mostly neglected. Sushi is a huge fad in America, so I can see why'd they jump on the train. The very best part about this place was the feeling after leaving. I didn't feel tired and grease-slapped like I do at a Chinese place. I felt refreshed and happy. Food should make you feel good, not fat. If I'm ever back in Pensacola, I am definitely stopping in here. This place is the BEEZ KNEEZ!

It won't kill you, but neither will chewing on Mead paper. Only eat here if your taste buds are permanently scarred or per doctor's order you are to have absolutely bland food. This was a big disappointment for me. While I know this is a small town, I do think it is a tad unfair to think that it is not recognized that their food is under seasoned, I can believe that simply because of inexperience that most people don't know about Thai cuisine. We decided to try two classic basics of Thai cooking--Panang Curry and Pad Thai. I am a firm believer in the wisdom of trying the basics of a place to establish a base line. Both dishes were reasonably spiced to our directions but past that failed to resemble Thai food. Both absolutely lacked the subtleties of Thai food. I couldn't even detect the hint of lemongrass or other aromatics in the curry. Likewise the heaping portion of noodles seems to be absent of any Southeast Asian spices. Nothing was spoiled or harmful, it simply lacked character. To boot the service was marginal, specifically lacking in the delivery of the food. This was a case where my spouse wasn't sharing in the curry. The curry arrived 8 minutes before the Pad Thai and the wait staff didn't even offer to bring a second plate to share to the dish... Considering we spent about $40 for two entrees, two appetizers, and no alcohol, my advice if it is Asian cuisine you want take your hard earned $$ and appetite to Ichiban and get some quality food.

I love pad Thai. I'm always happy as a clam when I'm served a good pad Thai. Siam Thai has unfortunately made me realize how a good pad Thai can be even better. I got the buffet, which was wonderful because I could try new dishes without having to sacrifice getting my usual pad Thai. The best part about this buffet was they have a little Thai condiment station. There are peanuts, bean sprouts, chopped cabbage, wedges of lime, and different sauces and spices that one can add to the buffet dishes. I got to customize my pad Thai with all the delicious toppings that I wanted! Never have I had the opportunity to top my pad Thai with all the bean sprouts that my heart desired. I will continue to enjoy pad Thai everywhere I go, but now I'll always wish that I could heap my dish with as many limes and peanuts as I'd like. The buffet in all was delicious, and there was an impressive array of options ranging from Thai staples, to sushi, to a hard to miss black refrigerator full of tiny, plated desserts. For a little over $9 a person, I'd say it's an amazing deal, even if you're mainly going to stick with the same dish.

I've been coming to this place for a few years whenever I'm home visiting family (introduced to us by my oldest brother). I even brought my friends from Orlando to it and they were in love and always jealous whenever I mention I'm here (considering there's no thai buffet in Orlando). The food is always good (sometimes it can be not as great such as in my last visit where the pineapple fried rice was bland) and service friendly. For about $8/person during lunch for buffet.. it can't be beat! Will definitely continue to keep coming back and recommend to others.

If you DON'T CARE for authentic Thai food and good tasty spicy Thai food then this your place! Walked in and there was a few Thai dishes and a pathetic "Sushi bar" which had a few rolls! I was so disappointed I left NO tip! First time in my life! Just truly DISAPPOINTED!

This place was very disappointing! Most selections on the buffet were cold-very scary- could get very sick. Many of the selections were more just thrown together with added hot sauce. Not very Thai. I have had really wonderful Thai food and this was not it. Ugh! there was no pad thai! I don't know if they were having an off night, but I was wondering if there was a different restaurant with the same name as all the reviews I read were pretty stellar. My daughter and I were very disappointed.

Buffet was pretty good. I was the only one in the restaurant. Kinda sketched since nobody else was eating. Got to try a little of each hot food and didnt disappoint for only $9.95.

My fiancé & I get the massaman curry (hot) & pad thai (Medium) & mix them together & split them. Enough food for 4 meals. I'm from South Florida & Thai restaurants are endless there but in Pensacola not so much... I was so happy to happen across this place about 5 years ago. At first I wasn't sure about it since they are in a gas station parking lot... But don't be fooled they are authentic & delicious.

Best green curry on the planet. Ever since we left Pensacola, I use this as the benchmark to compare all others. I always look forward to going back when we're in town. Awesome buffet, too!
