The menu choice has really gone down since I started eating here 3 years ago. Tonight the tomatoes were very pretty but tons of knats were all around the salad bar. Also not much of a meat choice unless you are into roast or tacos. Our server Courtney was great though. The inside feels very unclean the moment you walk in. It has a dank smell to it. The counters feel like they need a good scrubbing because of a greasy feeling. The price is not worth going to even with a coupon. My kids even said they didn't want to return. Imagine that. You have lost our business.

My husband and I visited the Ryan's on Hwa 29 on December 3, 2014 for lunch, using coupons. We will not be visiting this location again, unless improvements are made. The young lady was nice and friendly, and the waiters that tended us, Ashley I think her name is, was friendly and did her job well. That's where the good ended. The things I did not like is that Ryan's has four buffet tables, not counting the grill and dessert bar, which I think limits the restaurant as to what they can offer. Ryan's has limited variety, and for what little they do offer, it is not worth paying $25 or more for two people. Golden Corral has a better variety of food for the same price at Ryan's. The second thing that bothered me about this location is the cleanliness of the tiles. Near the entrance, behind the cashier station and the grill area (which is somewhat near each other), a few tiles looked dirty and mildew-y. At the place where the customer stands at the grill to ask for a grill item, there is a vent in the ceiling that I don't know if it should be there (there may be a reason that it needs to be there, that I don't know about). I had noticed this vent was rather dirty, dusty. I didn't visit any area other than the four buffet tables, so I don't know how the rest of the restaurant fairs. If the manager takes care of these issues, I might be willing to come back.

Here is another update since my last review long ago. I did return some time ago after the last rather disappointing change. I have to say that the disappointment proved to be pretty consistent. Since they changed food vendors the food quality had become like so many other "also-ran" buffet restaurants. Perhaps it wouldn't be such a glaring issue for anyone who isn't expecting anything else, but having had the benefit of knowing how good the food was at Ryan's prior to that change makes it hard to appreciate it now. Ryan's no longer even comes up on our list of places to consider when choosing to go out.

Great breakfast here. I love that you can ask the employee to make your eggs however you like them. They have everything you need.

It's 1 star at best! No flavor, bad service, dirty sloppy buffet and dirty floors! My feet were literally sticking to the floor! I was just shocked at how downhill Ryan's has become. Beware!!!

Went for Thanksgiving.............Disgusting ! Did not serve real turkey, but a processed formed turkey product . Got our money back and left.

A friend and I drove to Ryan's specifically to see if the food and service are as good as over in Conroe, Tx..... I have lived in Pensacola a long time and have never been to the Ryan's here. The food was above average and as good as most buffets. While there is not a large menu, the food was prepared well and the salad bar was excellent. The only down side was the fried chicken. I don't know if the grease was on too low a temp or if they did not leave it in long enough. There was very little "crunch". This may have been an isolated incident. Overall.....between good and excellent. We will go back again. Keep in mind..it's buffet...not an overpriced outfit where you pay $14 for a 4 oz pork chop and $6 extra for a decent salad. You can "pig out" on the salad bar if you desire...and the price is still a good deal. They have a large bowl of Caesar Salad prepared also...and it is very good. The ladies working there were ALL very courteous and attentive.

Ryans has gone down hill in the last couple of years. They started reducing their choices and started putting less profit items on their buffet bars. They have the same prices as Golden Corral, but substantially less items available.

Just like any other buffets, poorly cooked food, and food that has been sitting under warmers for hours. The restaurant was also rundown, and was dirty looking.

It's pretty bad when the entire food choices are unflavorful. The new Mongolian Grill choice is horrible. The chef prepares it as if it is the greatest inconvenience ever. I try each time to HOPE that it may be good and each time disappointed. No more can do :(
