The service was good; However, the food was a huge disappointment. The portion sizes we received during lunch were very small. And everything lacked seasoning and flavor. We ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms as an appetizer. And my date ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and I ordered the Seafood Alfredo. All of it was just mediocre. My date didn't like the stuffed mushrooms at all, and I barely enjoyed them myself. The texture wasn't that good, and they didn't have much flavor, plus they were a bit on the oily side. My date said the Chicken Parmigiana was just "okay," but that "something tasted off with the breading," and offered me a taste, but the portion size was so tiny that I didn't feel comfortable accepting a bite to find out how it was. The Seafood Alfredo had a nice thick sauce, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Although the sauce was thick, it wasn't very flavorful even after loading it up with salt, pepper, and grated cheese. And the worst part of the dish was the seafood itself, which in my opinion should have been the best part. I say this because the shrimp and scallops in my Seafood Alfredo were underdone; they were barely cooked, had a weird texture, and were not flavorful at all. Also, the freshly grated cheese was bland, too. It had been over 15 years or so since the last time I've eaten at the Olive Garden, and if my memory serves me correctly, I used to enjoy it, and was really looking forward to dining here; however, I was hugely disappointed and have to say I didn't enjoy our meal, and think it will be another 15 or more years again before I even consider giving Olive Garden another try.

The food and the service were excellent! Now I don't mean Mulberry St wonderful, but for a chain, I gotta give em props! Everything we had, was served timely and fresh, our server MIKE was on point as well. No shame in their game... Go mangia! :)

By far the best Olive Garden dining experience, this place was on point. We were seated without delay, had a great server who knew his stuff at the table. We enjoyed the wine sample and our drinks and appetizers were soon on the table. All the food was enjoyable for both the eyes and palate. Chef checked on the tables personally, though we were more than satisfied with our meals. This was a great example of teamwork- from the front of the house, to the bar and kitchen...they exceeded our expectations. We look forward to our next visit.

Attention Pensacola friends The Olive Garden on Bayou - found a big brown hair in my pasta, luckily I found it before I ate but their GM didn't do anything to rectify the situation asides from making a new one. Not good customer service. Just be warned if you go there to check your food!

It is very unfortunate that I am writing such a negative review for this particular Olive Garden. I usually enjoy Olive Gardens. In fact, I enjoyed this location of Olive Garden very much until this afternoon's lunch. I've been to this location two times before today and I did not have any issues whatsoever with the food or service. This time was different. I don't know if it was because we went for lunch instead of dinner, which is when I went the two previous times.. but the food was lacking. The service was great. I have no issues with that. For lunch we had the unlimited salad and breadsticks, obviously, as well as the lasagna fritta. He had the chicken alfredo and I ordered the zuppa toscana as well as a new special, the pappardelle pescatore. The salad was probably the best part of the meal. It was fresh and delicious. The breadsticks were not very warm and didn't taste as fresh as I am quite used to at this location. The lasagna fritta was pretty decent. It wasn't anything special. The zuppa toscana was.. interesting. The broth was nice. However the soup itself was limp. And when I say limp I mean tiny, tiny, tiny pieces of sausage and thin slices of potatoes and maybe 3 tiny pieces of kale.. I won't lie I did expect more filling in the soup especially seeing as it is comprised of both sausage and potatoes. The alfredo, I assume, was good enough because that was consumed entirely. However, the pappardelle pescatore made me very sad. I decided to try something new and the picture (never trust a picture) and the description was appetizing. The pasta was cooked well, however they were a little bit thicker than pappardelle I've eaten before. The seafood was cooked decently enough. The sauce had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The pappardelle is advertised as being spicy with fresh tomatoes. 1) there were no tomatoes and 2) there was absolutely no spice. Needless to say, if I am craving some olive garden I will probably go for dinner because the lunch service and food is completely different from the dinner service. I think this location seriously needs to reconsider their lunch time kitchen staff.

Decided to come back and give it another shot seven months after my last review. Right away when I walked in I noticed the smell was still permeating the place. I asked to be seated on the side away from ground zero. While I waited for my table, the very friendly bartender Michael got my wife and I a couple drinks. When we were seated at our table (which was outside of the smell zone thankfully) I was offered a generous sample of the house white, which was good. Our server, Chelsea, was very friendly and attentive. I was very pleased with the service this time and the food was good, but not great. Overall, it was a much better experience. I will probably be back in the near future.

When we first pulled up to the restaurant multiple workers/chefs were out in the front of the restaurant smoking. To me this is very unprofessional and turns me off to the restaurant. This Olive Garden has recently been remodeled, I've lived in Pensacola for over 5 years. The remodel is nice yet they still haven't gotten rid over the smell of water damage. Every time I've been to this Olive Garden the servers never seem to be happy. This time was no exception. There were about 7 hosts at the front bickering. The food is always good. There was a hair in my drink, not a deal breaker for me, but I saw some workers coming out of the kitchen with their hair nets on so I can't expect anything. Not impressed with this Olive Garden.

We ordered the spicey red pepper shrimp, $9.29 each, guess what, the endless salad & bread sticks don't come with it. You only get shrimp, about 10 - 12 medium & nothing else. At least other restaurants you get some type of potatoes. Looks like you have to order salad extra for $3.75 each. The economy is changing everything. :(

Not my idea of a romantic dinner, family gathering, place to chill with friends, or a good meal...just a place people in Pensacola go. So my lil bro wanted some pasta...I said, "Where would you like to go honey?" He said, "Olive Garden." I replied with, "umm...ok." So I did it. I ate at another mediocre chain restaurant. I am doing soo good on my small town tour of food. I ordered the Chateau Ste Michelle and Mussels...come on...don't judge me! I am trying. It was..um...under whelming. I am spoiled in LA. Sooo spoiled.

First off the redesign sucks! It reminds me of a Denny's. They ruined the bar, took out the big round tables for big ugly booths, and the manager is wearing a ridiculous "chef" outfit. Oliver garden food was never really good but this redesign has made it unbearable. Not to forget the waiter actually tried to tell me that "Alfredo" was a pasta and not a sauce. ?!? So I will not be back.

The best cuisine of Italian food and great atmosphere for family and social get togethers. Recently went to the Olive Garden for a family members birthday, and everything was perfect. From the drinks to to food to the service of our waiter. The chef from the kitchen even came out to see if we were pleased with our entrées. It was a delightful experience that made you feel like you were a super star. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Pensacola to go and eat here.

Olive Garden is a great restaurant! where the managers truly care about the guest as well as the workers. The food is always quick and fast paced. I am amazed at some of the negative comments from people wanting free food. Put yourself in a position of having several tables that can total up to 16 people. People often think they are the only guest around. You get free soup or salad (unlimited) breadsticks (unlimited) if the service is so bad I would recommend trying another restaurant and you can compare notes. Or go work at a restaurant and find out what is going on. This Olive Garden has some of the best service around. I would highly recommend it to anyone. No I do not work here, but gosh people I know when the people come out from the woodwork. There is nothing wrong with this place. I've worked restaurant and I know when someone is fishing for freebies and didn't get it. Some of you just need to eat at home and not go out to torment a server lol.

BUNCH OF HATERS ON THIS SITE!!!!!! Let me explain to you how much I love this place (and no I dont work here) I spent 2 weeks in Rome and Venice and I HATED the Italian food there. Their pizzas were like eating Saltine crackers with ketchup on it, the spaghetti in Rome had like a teaspoon of sauce in it, their idea of garlic bread and my idea is two totally different things, I could hit a baseball with their breadsticks, whereas no one can compare to Olive Gardens nice soft warm breadsticks, and on a side note, the McDonalds at the Termini in Rome CHARGES for ketchup packets.. uhh yeah, its like .15 cents a packet and no, they dont come with your value meal....I will take this American-made -generic -cookie cutter- restaurant-chain any day over the real deal of Italian food...Dont judge me. Ciao!

Overall this particular Olive Garden is better than most others I have visited. Service was good, even though packed. Food was hot, and very good. The flavors were as close to "homemade" as I've ever had at a Chain Restaurant. The Ravioli Pomadoro was perfectly cooked, you could actually taste the cheeses used. Minestrone was full of vegetables ans seasoned well. I'm not sure if the in house Chef is allowed leeway. I think this one took some which made for a fantastic meal.

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I enjoyed my food very much. I went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with friends and the wait wasn't that bad (about 15 minutes). The waiter was very attentive, and he was actually very funny. I had a peach mango smoothie, which was absolutely delightful, with the chicken scampi. It was a good portion and very delicious. My friends enjoyed their food also. I got three dolcinis which was an absolutely wonderful treat. I will definitely be back again sometime.

Really enjoy the Olive Garden in most cases; however, this particular Olive Garden was not up to the normal standards. We went on a rather busy evening and surprisingly the wait wasn't all that bad, but the food was just not as good as other Olive Garden's. Specifically, the Chicken and Gnocci soup that I normally love for all of it's big bits of chicken and abundant gnocci was way to salty and had almost no chicken or gnocci and wasn't all that creamy either. The Bread sticks were rather tough the first go around, but the second batch were much better as they seemed to come fresh from the oven. To really tip the scale toward a 2 star rating, the service was far from good. The waitress was all over the place and forgot something each trip to the table, filling our meal with several interuptions. At one point the waitress left the tray and tray stand by our table (empty mind you) so long that another waiter had to come and take it away. To sum it all up, go to a different italian place if you really want italian in Pensacola. There are several local places or even a Maccaroni Grill just up the street if you are looking for a name you recognize.

I do enjoy Olive Garden however most people don't know they don't have a working kitchen meaning they do not cook anything fresh, it is all pre packaged. Take a peek in the kitchen if you don't believe me. No pots or pans grill etc.

  • Tina W.

Not my fav. I love Italian food, but over the years their food has gotten very poor. U can notice from a mile away that everything is pre cooked and made. Sauce is loaded with allot of spices and boiled too many times, always give me heartburn. I make my own Italian sauce and is never loaded and full of preservatives. When it comes to Italian food less is more! Bottom line not my fav. Want real Italian food try Macaroni Grill. They know what they r doing! ;-)

We've had terrible service and once we had mediocre service but it's never been stellar. Even though we generally like the food at Olive Garden we never choose to eat here.

It was ok for mainstream Italian. I had the Toscana soup (had better ones before), not very creamy. And also had the salad which was good. First set of breadsticks were a little tough and second batch came out fresher.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
