If you like the original Ole Taco House (an old Pensacola landmark) or Don Miguel's (part of the same family with the same delicious recipes), then you will love the newly opened Ole Taco House out on Hwy 29 (where Miguel's used to be). The recipes are just as amazing as always and the staff is friendly and helpful. This is a family owned business that has been around forever and it is the best Mexican food I have tasted in the are. GO CHECK THEM OUT! They have an amazing ALL YOU CAN EAT menu for $9.99. That's hard to beat. What's funny is that it can be difficult to get your $9.99 worth because the prices are so good at this place. I recommend the enchiladas and, of course, the tacos. Round it all off with some sopapillas for dessert. You will not be sorry, I promise.

Skip this place as it is not authentic Mexican food. We ordered the shredded beef tacos and it was stew meat with no flavor nor was it shredded You also have to pay extra for a side of re-fried beans and Mexican rice. The beans were dried out and the rice had an off taste. Also the chips and salsa were extra too. I ordered the cheese dip and it tasted like the kind you make with Velveeta and Rotel only not as flavorful. Do yourself a favor and go down to Taco Rock which is authentic.

Skip Vallartas, Monterey's and Los Rancheros (which all taste identical) and head over to Taco House for some AUTHENTIC mexican food! You can't beat their prices, for those of you on a budget. It's an awesome, family owned restaurant that actually takes pride in each dish they serve. The best things to get here are the enchiladas, tacos, puff tacos, sopapillas, and nachos! Make sure you ask for their taco sauce, because once you try it, you might have to order a pint of it to go. They have a $9.99 all you can eat deal, which is pretty hard to beat. Go early because they close around 8 pm. You will not be disappointed you ventured here. The only con is the lack of advertising, their facebook isn't up to date and there isn't a lot of reviews on the place, so you'd never know the place was there unless you pass by it.

(The one by Corry station) Horrible! !! And never again. They were slow, and there was only three tables. The waitress seemed lost, and the food.... taco bell would have been better. Oh. .... and you have to pay for the chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal, which is free everywhere else. Just go to cactus moon.

This place is awesome! They have the original puff taco! The nachos are to die for. They have something for everyone. If your not in the mood for Mexican food..they have great seafood and burgers. Give this family owned restaurant a try. They are Navy Blvd next to Felton Lanes!

With so many Mexican restaurants in this area, and many referrals to Ole Taco House, I really looked forward to coming here, for authentic Mexican food. Sadly, it's not authentic and not even that good. Ole Taco House left me disappointed as I wanted more, I wanted fresh flavors, I was looking for an "El Pastor" a "Carne Asada" a Menudo Soup, anything, anything that casts this place as authentic Mexican. I ended up getting the Dressed Beef and Bean Burrito. What a disappointment, this understaffed flaccid, flavorless log, really about describes it. My friend who was with me, and yes a Mexican certainly wasn't delighted by his beef taco and enchilada. Way to Americanized, and lacking any real Mexican flavors. Sadly, I'm sure Ole Taco House was once the kingpin in part, now they need a re-do!

I have to admit up front that I haven't eaten here in about 30 years, but I thought about this place while I was writing a review for another Mexican restaurant here in Fort Lauderdale. So, I think a review for Ole's is long overdue. Way back in the '80s my mom and I would go to the Ole' Taco House or San Miguel's for lunch while she was running errands (ironically for our own restaurant The Oriental House). Anyway, it was always a nice treat and it felt a little like cheating, but the food at Ole' was soooo good, even back then. We always arrived to Ole's for lunch a little late. Usually there weren't many customers left by that time...it's like we had the whole place to ourselves. I was about 10-years old at the time and since we owned a restaurant ourselves we almost never went out to eat, except maybe to Burger King on Sundays after church. So there we were, just my mom and I, none of the other loud siblings, enjoying our lunch date in peace and quiet. I always ordered the cheese quesadilla. Although I didn't like jalapenos back then, it always came with jalapenos, so I just picked them off. I think they used a thin, flat crispy tortilla or tostada shell as the base and covered every inch of it with this cheddar-like cheese which they melted down to a delicious, oily, cheesy layer dripping right over the edge of the whole round unfolded tostada. Even with the jalapenos picked off it had enough spicy goodness for a 10-year old. I'm pretty sure I drank Coca-Cola with it, too. I've never had another cheese quesadilla as good as Ole's. So, there you have it. I guess 30 years ago we didn't have internet or yelp anyway, but I still remember how great it was after all these years. Next time I'm back in Pensacola I'll try it out, maybe it'll be just a good. Either way, Ole still gets five stars from my inner fat kid.

I have ate at this restaurant about six times in the last three weeks and their food is unbelievably good and authentic. I love it. The food is great, service is excellent. Everything about this place is amazing, especially the old mom and pop owned vibe. Eat here and you will not be disappointed. They also have a drive through!

Not Mexican food at all! The place is old & food is bland. The food looked like my kids put it together. Honestly you'd be better off going to Taco Bell. Visited June 2015.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
