About on par with the rest of Pcola's Mexican restaurants. Standard cheap prices and typical mass-marketed food served quickly. They've recently renovated and have decent atmosphere. Bright colors and a fountain inside add some ambiance.

I once lived around the corner from this place, so when I came back to this city on vacation I knew I had to stop in. Not much has changed, but that's a good thing. I had the combination to include: Chile Releno, Beef Chimichanga, Beef Taco, Chicken Quesadilla, and Guacamole salad. Chimichanga was slightly crispy and savory. The taco was packed with meat and cheese. The Chile Releno was cooked as it should have been with no seeds on the inside (pet peeve of mine). The chicken quesadilla was not 100% fulfilling to me. It had giant chunks of flavorless chicken. I was hoping for a marinated chicken of some sort and a shredded form instead of big chunks. But that's just me. The restaurant is always clean and this staff always friendly. There is a "happy" feel to the decor in the dining area infused with bright colors with Latin American style. Give this place a shot!

I just had lunch at La Hacienda and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The chips and salsa were tasty and my pork carnitas was tender and delicious. I asked if they had a salsa that had a bit more spice and let me tell you that salsa did not disappoint. My eyes were tearing up but the flavor was awesome. I will be back.

Excellent service, very friendly and professional looking staff. The whole place is clean, spacious, well kept and just plain pretty with a very festive decor. The salsa and cheese dip were yummy. We had cheese enchiladas and a chimichanga and found them both hot and tasty. This will be our New Mexican go to spot.

Been here several times and food is always good. Very clean and pretty good service. My only complaint if I had one is that you cannot order a grilled chicken taco which is my daughters favorite at all the other Mexican restaurants in town. Their reasoning is "their meat is proportioned" and therefore cannot make just 1 taco. I find that crazy to be honest and an indicator that their chicken fajita meat may not be the freshest. Other then that they are a consistent place to eat and the staff is efficient and friendly.

You always get promptly greeted by a friendly face who always asks if you want a table or booth. The complimentary chips and salsa are warm and fresh. The salsa is smack dab in the middle of chunky and finely chopped. I brought my girlfriend here. She had a beef enchilada and a chicken quesadilla. Both were adequate. I had a chorizo and eggs plate, which is just how my Mexican Momma makes. Delish. We both had a side of rice and beans, which were both adequate. I use the word adequate a lot because I'm not sure any Mexican food deviates too much from the average to call it amazing. That being said, even the average of Mexican food equals five stars in my book, and La Hacienda does it the absolute best around the Pace/Milton/Pensacola area. Also, the sweet tea is out of this world delicious.

Let me start by saying, I have no idea what the negative reviews were talking about. My mother & I visited this restaurant. We loved it! The inside of the place was both beautiful & colorful. The entire staff was pristine clean, neat, & respectful. It was a pleasant atmosphere & quite. The food was cheap & plenteous & tasty!

We were promptly seated and served. We didn't wait long for our food and the server was very attentive. This is my first mexican restaurant since moving to the area and I love it!

I found this place on Yelp. I was intrigued and now I am satisfied. I had the chicken chimichanga, food was deliver FAST, waiters were very friendly and ever present to top off my tea. I would recommend this place.

Excellent soup and very tender and fresh fajitas. Wonderful service and a lively decor make this a must stop for people who love Mexican food. Located just off I-10 and near several family hotels, it is a great choice for travelers looking for a non-chain restaurant.

Service was ok, food tasted like it all came from a can. Only good thing was the sweet tea

Excellent meal for some Arizona transplants! we ordered off the lunch menu, a shredded beef chimichanga and the pork carnitas. both dishes came with refried beans and rice. Portion size was perfect. The beans were delicious as well as the shredded beef. the pork carnitas was fork tender chunks and sauteed with onions. Service was very friendly and prompt. Chips came with mild salsa which was very tasty. I had to ask for the hot and it was outstanding! Definitely will come back

Passing through the area and stopped because of the good reviews. The restaurant is brightly decorated and clean. The food, unfortunately, did not live up to expectations. Fajita chicken looked and tasted like chicken you'd see in cheap Chinese take out. Guacamole seemed like it came out of a container. Beef chimichanga not good. Pork carnitas also disappointing, lacking any flavor. On a positive note the Queso dip was tasty. The menu prices were very cheap, probably should have been a warning - and probably the draw for this place.

Pensacola needs some SERIOUS help on Mexican food. Having lived in SoCAl for many years and TX for most of my life, and having eaten my share of good and bad Mexican food, I have to say that I was really looking forward to trying La Hacienda, as I was told La Hacienda was the best around. REALLY? I gave it a go 3 or 4 times and each time I was not impressed. The food at La Ha is bland at best. Not that it's bad or terrible; it's just not there for me. Service was on par and the chips and salsa were average. I honestly can't even remember what I had on my 3 or 4 visits there as it was so un-memorable. There are so many places in this world to get GREAT Mexican food; I wish more were here in Pensacola!!! Rio Bravo was much better, as was Cactus Flower (even if CF isn't, to me, true Mexican styled food..it is good). And I'm told that El Taco Loco is the best place to get a real taco (that and East Hill Yard, or just "The Yard"). Still searching of a great Mexican Food place, so if you know of one, let me know!

The food quality is hit or miss. I have been multiple times and have not had a "bad" experience. The service is quick but not super friendly. The food is decent but the cheese sauce is to die for. It cost extra for the cheese sauce but it's well with it. The prices are reasonable and for two people for lunch or dinner it would probably be around 15-20 dollars. Overall it's decent, but not authentic Mexican.

We found this place by using Yelp on our phones while driving through Florida. The biggest problem is no liquor = no margaritas! (And the ladies room didn't smell great, my wife said) They have delicious white cheese sauce that you should ask for a side of to dip chips into and pour on lots of other yummy things. There is a pretty fountain in the middle of the brightly tiled dining room. One daughter had pork carnitas, which was not shredded but chunks of pork with all the fajita fixings. My other daughter shared a mixed grill fajita platter with my wife - rice and beans on the side. Meat and shrimp sizzling with veggies. They brought us chips & salsa, and more chips later. The server was attentive, and although I don't think he spoke a lot of English he understood us just fine. It's a lot of what you would expect, but I usually expect margaritas to go with it :(

A pretty good Mexican restaurant, we have been here before and had better food, but this last trip was not as good. I had the Quesadillas Tipicas, which in a shrimp quesadilla. The sauce in the quesadilla was a little too salty. Service was great, the waiter keep my glass full of tea. My wife had a combination plate with a quesadillaa, chili reyellno, and burrito. She did not like the red sauce on the burrito but was happy with the other two items. We will probably go back, hopefully this was just a one time lapse in their quality.

My Mock Trial Team (Kennesaw State University: Mock Trial ) and I visited La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant last weekend and LOVED it. Our server, Hugo, did an AWESOME job serving our table of 7. The food... ¡que sabrosa! We love you all! Hopefully we'll see you all again!

Great fajitas. Good chips and salsa (the ones that come on the table. They let us sub for items (ie no beans for extra veggies). Been here a few times in the last few months.

  • Nicole F.

Chips and salsa are yum. Service and staff get five stars. Unfortunately, we were not overly impressed by the Pollo Hacienda or Beef enchilada. Food was a little too salty. In my opinion, good place for chips/salsa and conversation.

My husband and I love going here. This was our first time at this location since we moved. We used to go to the one close to NAS but this was just as good if not better! Service is always spot on and food is fresh, hot and definitely authentic! Every time we go we always have to get a large salsa to go! the price for what you get is crazy! we will always be back when it comes to this place! its hard to beat! The only thing that is lacking here is being able to have a yummy margarita or cold cerveza with my meal!

There's nothing else around but fast food, and this was way better than that. Road trip stop, I was pleased and left with a full tum tum. Decor is very colorful and staff friendly. Bathrooms clean :)

This place was within walking distance of our hotel, and since I couldn't convince anyone to go downtown for lunch we came here. It was very cute inside, and had a private room. This would be a great place to have a party. We split nachos, and I had chicken tacos with rice and beans. Everything was tasty. The food is pretty cheap, so the food was definitely a good value. The servers were all really nice, and our food and water refills came out really quickly.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Pensacola. The food is delicious and you always get a lot for your money. The decor has bright fun colors with hand painted chairs/ artwork and a beautiful water fountain. Chips and salsa and queso are good. I only wish they offered margaritas or beer to go along with the meal. (no liquor license) I highly recommend this restaurant.

  • Lauren P.

I can enjoy pretty much any Mexican, but yikes, this was pretty terrible. Chips and salsa should have tipped me off: practically tomato sauce. I got guacamole as an alternative and it was pale green and flavorless. Tacos and quesadilla were also bland and perhaps a little funky. Service was perfectly friendly, but there is clearly no effort put into the food. With several Mexican options in Pensacola, there's no reason to pay for this stuff.

Wow, this place blew us away! Far and away the best decor and ambience in a Mexican restaurant. Top that with great service and food... I know we'll go out of our way to stop there again.

....I only eat at two Mexican joints here in Pcola(taco bell doesnt count).. this place and Vallartas. They both have my white queso dip I love that I pour on everything.. .. WOOO HOOOOO!.. only thing that sucks is they dont have a liquor license so I cant get a margarita..ummm if the manager reads this, dude, friggin get a liquor license and start servin MARGARITAAAAS...Alcohol and mexican food goes hand in hand.. like peanut butter n jelly, like sugar n kool-aid, like Bert n Ernie!! If you wanna drink alcohol you need to try another spot.. but overall, good food here and the staff is super cool.

When we go out for Mexican in Pensacola, we go to La Hacienda. Good food, good chips/salsa, great service, and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

La Hacienda is your typical Tex-Mex restaurant in Pensacola. While the service was pretty awesome, I don't think was really anything to write about. The chips and salsa was not very impressive. The chips seemed to be sort of stale, but the salsa was ok. Our entrees appeared to be a little on the bland side. Overall, I still think I prefer to go to Cactus Flower.

Well the food was not bad at all. The service was quick. The staff was attentive and courtious. The menu was pretty extensive. The place was clean. Enough parking so no worries. Its right off the 10 freeway, perfect for a rest stop if your driving through. Definitely a try....

Is about average taste with too much salt. Run of the mill taste... Wish they had Las Margaritas up here. I used to watch how they were make their own flour tortillas as we ate. They would make their own chip and everything. We need a place like this in Pensacola. So many mexicans, myself included, but barely any authentic taste in any of these restaurants. I'm thinking they have been Americanized when it comes to cooking.. :(

the service at la hacienda is top notch. you're sat as soon as you come in, chips and salsa as soon as you sit, server as soon as you get your chips and salsa...you know the drill! my family and i had been going to la hacienda ever since it was a little hole in the wall on the side of the road. its nice seeing them having multiple locations now. when the owners were there they were always super friendly and genuinely care about their customers. the food is solid for a mexican place, its pretty typical as most places are. the prices are great, making it a great deal for the money. if you need to get in and out, its also a great place for a quick meal. la hacienda has been around for quite a while now, and its no wonder why with the service and the value. BUT la hacienda....Y U NO OPEN SUNDAY!?!? Its like Chik-fil-a, the times i crave it most are the times i can't have it!

  • Hilary M.

This is my absolute favorite place to eat. I crave it when I cant have it. Anyway, the food has always been awesome. The service is great. There have only been a few issues with servers but that was quite a while ago now and everything has began to get back to normal. Their sweet tea is awesome along with their queso dip. I give it a 4 and not a 5 (even though i love it and i dont let it bother me) because they always get my order wrong. Not that its a big thing but sometimes Ill ask for chicken and they will give me just beans in my burrito. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I eat here about once every other week and find the food and service to be great. The waiters are usually spot on unless you start changing stuff and confusing them...For example, ordering something without red sauce and subbing in cheese sauce can get lost in translation. I usually order the same thing. It's a #27 I think...One Chile Rellenos, a Taco, a quesadilla, and one other delicious offering for like $8. I usually tell them to sub the guaco for sour cream as I don't really like avacodos. Their cheese dip is great BUT the portion you get for $4 is a RIP OFF!!! Their tacos are awesome due to the cheese they use on them. It melts in your mouth even though it's grated. Salsa is par, about like anywhere else. I've had the fajita's and they are ok. The combo #27 keeps me coming back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
