After all these years Jackson's is still my favorite restaurant in town. Best steaks ( lump crab and blue cheese as topping is my favorite) their duck its delicious on the fall menu. Favorite dessert: creme brulee

Exceptional service and the ONLY place I've found that serves soufflé in Pcola. But sadly, the Delmonico steak was average at best. I would suggest going for appetizers, drinks, and dessert!!

Very nice atmosphere, excellent service. The staff is very attentive, without hovering. The food was very good, although the portions were at bit small, considering the price. Be careful on the wine, very very steep. . We took some friends for dinner, and my guest chose a familiar bottle of wine from the menu. The wine steward apologized that they were out of that wine, so my guest asked them to bring a suitable substitute. I don't drink wine, but had a small splash. It was ok, as far as I was concerned. A Napa valley Cabernet if I remember right. $350 later for 1 bottle of wine. I learned an expensive lesson that night. Always ask the price for the wine.

Amazing food. Service was a little slow but they were busy. I loved the Jason's oyster fry.

I love going to Jackson's. It just such a relaxing atmosphere and Chef Irv truly a gem. The filet is delicious, as is red snapper. Chef does a great job of switching up the menu to keep it fresh and new. If you want to have an appetizer, sit at the bar and use your Jackson ($20 bill) at Jackson's! Two glasses of wine and any appetizer! Can't beat that! Dress up just a bit and have a wonderful dinner!

Service was friendly food was average. We have heard hype about this place for a year and are sad to say it's just hype. It looks like a place where people want to be seen so it was crowded, but, don't assume the crowd and prices mean the food is great. Read the reviews and I think you can see a lot of people are just going with the flow and trying to be part of the Jackson's crowd. The steak was not much better than a chain restaurant. Prices are very fair for fine dining, but, this was far from fine dining.

I have the following addendum to add to my previous review of December 28, 2011: Maria Goldberg, Public Relations Manager at Jackson's Steakhouse, contacted me after I posted this review (and many others.) She asked me to give the restaurant an opportunity to "change my mind". She sent me the following: "James: First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent dining experience at Jackson's, I truly appreciate your candor. It is our goal each and every night to provide quality service and food - it sounds as if we really missed the mark with you and your family on the 24th. It is through comments such as yours that we are able to address and improve dining experiences for all of our guests. Please know that I have passed you comments onto the owner, general manager and chef - we take comments such as your (sic) to heart and will ensure that steps will be taken to address the problems. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with you further and to offer you and your family a chance to dine with us again, for us to make it right - on us. Please, give me a call (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Regards, Maria Goldberg" I called her and explained that the party of four that dined included my daughter and her fiancé, both of whom live in Pensacola, and my mother and me, both of whom live 9-1/2 hours away from Pensacola. I said that it would not be possible for the four of us to take her up on her offer, but if she were willing to extend the offer to my daughter and her fiancée, I would ask my daughter to provide me detailed feedback on her visit and that I would then post a follow-up on my review. Maria sent me the following: "James: Thanks for checking in. Of course, we are more than willing to extend the invitation to your daughter and her fiancée (sic). If this is something they are interested in, they will need to contact me directly to make the arrangements. I can be reached by phone (xxx) xxx-xxxx or by email, xxxx@jacksonsrestaurant.… . Once again, thank you so much for your time. Regards, Maria" After considerable time working out the details, my daughter and her fiancée dined at Jackson's Steakhouse, again, on January 24, 2012. My daughter wrote the following of her experience: "Jeremy and I went to Jackson's tonight, 1/24/12, at 5:30. The gift certificate for $150 was waiting for us at the hostess podium, in an envelope labelled (sic) with my name. The gift certificate was written to expire on 1/20/12, as our original reservation had been for 1/19/12. The managers were not only gracious about rescheduling our original dinner plans, but also told us that they would of course honor the gift certificate and apologized for the misunderstanding. We were seated in the front area at a table by the window, despite wearing jeans, sneakers, and sweaters. We got our own table and our server's name was Chris. We ordered: Mushroom parmesan gnocci Shrimp cocktail Caesar salad 8 and 6 oz filet mignon, respectively Whipped potatoes North shore key lime phyllo purse Chocolate rum layer cake. The food came out in good time, and was great. The gnocci was in a small dish, but very tasty. The shrimp cocktail had 5 shrimp in it, but they were huge and very good. The caesar had actual caesar dressing on it, that had the correct identifiable flavors. They also brought out extra dressing for Jeremy, just in case. Drink refills were timely, especially once the empty glasses were put on the right side of the table to be reached. Our server was knowledgeable, polite, and friendly without being at all rude - a nice change from last time. Our steaks were correctly prepared to the level of wellness requested, and the correct utensils with which to eat them preceded the steaks to our table. The desserts were phenomenal, both in portion and in taste. The manager checked in on us a few times to ensure we were being well treated and to ask if he could do anything for us. My only discomfort tonight was that he was rather hands-on, constantly placing his hand on my shoulder or patting my back. Kind of creepy. Other than that, everything was great, we had a really good experience. They also allowed us to use the remaining balance of the gift certificate as a tip. Having an incredible server made all the difference in the world, and the desserts were probably the best part of the whole meal." I am very happy that Jackson's Steakhouse seems to have "hit the mark" this time. The only potentially negative thought I had was that the gift certificate of $150 represented the amount spent on the original dinner, which included four diners, and the gift certificate was required to be completely used that evening, said dinner including only two diners. I would have expected that, since not all four of us could revisit the restaurant, Jackson's would have allowed the gift certificate to be used for two visit, instead of only the one visit.

The food is very tasty and they can accommodate my gluten free diet. It's a very pleasant dining experience.
