The women at the front desk weren't friendly or helpful upon check in. They acted as if we were at the wrong hotel entirely when we actually just had to check in to a different property down the road and then come back. They didn't explain that to us. The rooms are a nice size. I liked the decor of the room I was staying in but thought some of my co-workers rooms were oddly decorated. It was extremely frustrating waiting for the elevators. Sometimes I would leave 15 mins in advance & then it would be too crowded to even get on the elevator. This forced my roommate and I to talk down 13 flights of stairs with our luggage. You're better off taking the stairs the majority of the time or expect to wait a very long time.

As long as you book with PanhandleGetaways.com you'll have a great experience at Shores of Panama! This is a beautiful resort with great access to local restaurants and fun things to do!

A lot of hidden fees that the customer will not be aware about until you stay at the resort and pay up. I booked almost a year in advance (not because they're busy, I just wanted to get things sorted) Any who, I should have done my due diligence and read up on this hotel via people's review because no where on the site did they state about the hidden fees. In order to use their pool, or even their beachfront, you have to pay an extra fee for EACH person in your party. NO WHERE WAS THIS LABELED ON ANY OF THE DESCRIPTIONS. Now having to dispute the charge on my credit card, the hotel is demanding a 50$ cancellation fee after trying to get 385$ from us. POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE RIGHT THERE. You don't keep customers by screwing them over. How greedy can you be, its a whole year in advance and you want to charge a cancellation fee? Just pathetic.

Is there a rating of ZERO STARS? Where do I begin... There were bottles being thrown from the balcony to the pool area. We were on the balcony and witnessed a bottle almost strike a mother who was letting her two small children swim. Security responded but to my knowledge nothing was done about it. The complex allowed kids to play vulgar rap music from the balconies each day and night without it being shut down and on Saturday night the complex had a DJ from Club LaVela who was playing vulgar rap music by the pool. So when we walked back in from the beach Saturday night we were greeted with that... The noise level in the complex was a 10/10 during the stay. It would be loud until the wee hours of the morning with some nights going to 4 am or earlier. Because of the vulgar music, the screaming, cursing and beer funneling from the balconies we did not allow our kids to go out to the pool area at night. Instead we would go out to dinner and go back to the condo where we would do something inside. In addition to the pool are being unusable the "fitness center" was a joke. Small, dark, dirty and musty smelling. In my opinion unusable. I joined a local gym on HWY 98 for the week because I couldn't workout in the fitness area. Each night police lined the streets to try and control the chaos outside our door. Teenagers and college kids screaming with megaphones, doing drugs, funneling beer and so on. On my 9 hour drive back home I thought more about the $230 fee I was charged by SOP for the "amenities" and quiet frankly the more angry I got since I was unable to enjoy the pool area or fitness room for the aforementioned reasons. So I decided to contact SOP management to obtain a refund since I was unable to use the amenities. I called and asked for Rachel in management who the front desk could not reach anytime I called. Over the course of 4 days I called and left 10 or more messages for Rachel or her superior to call me. CRICKETS.... To date I have never received a call back despite my best efforts. I did talk to a desk clerk named Donna and explained I wanted my amenity fee money back and she said SOP doesn't issue any refunds. So now after waiting almost a week for a return call from someone in management I have officially disputed the charge with my credit card company who honored the credit reversal. The overall lack of social responsibility and professionalism by SOP is an outrage. The HOA should seek to replace the current management of SOP. I will never return to PCB or SOP.

Beautiful resort! Pool is amazing and the beach and the water cannot get any better. Please do not read the reviews and think negative of Shores! If you choose to go during Spring Break then prepare for the worst. Otherwise you will enjoy! Also, don't be an idiot and think that somewhere in your paperwork the resort fees were not mentioned. They are! Pay the dang 30 dollars a day fee for the amenities and sit back and relax.

Will never stay there again. The parking lot was to small, the elevators were hot and during peak times the wait could be 30 minutes. The pool was dirty and cloudy and i would not go in. The leasing agent sold me a two bedroon but when we arrived it was a one bedroon. All around not a pleasant experience. Everyone we met said they would never go back either.

The facility is not bad. The room was nice and a fantastic view. All was well till I wanted to walk out to the beach. You have to buy A DAILY PASS at $21 per person to use the pool or to walk through the pool area to the beach. Yes they made us walk around the building to the restaurant next door and use their beach access. So when you book through travelocity or any site and it says they have a pool, it's correct except you have to pay extra to use it. $20/ day cleaning fee except no one ever, not one time came to clean. They're are no maids. You pay a $45 damage deposit. But you don't get that back. The place is beautiful but run by 3 different management companies. They don't agree so the customer suffers. I've traveled all around the world and couldn't belive when you stay at a beach front resort but you can't walk to the beach. Sad very sad.

This was our first time staying here. I actually booked it before reading the reviews. Once I read the reviews I was terrified! Needless to say, I found that the reviews were a bit harsh!!! For us, check in was a breeze. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We originally booked our stay at Long Beach. The night before our arrival we received a phone call that our reservation had been cancelled due to a maintenance issue. We panicked!!!! It's Fourth of July week so we didn't think we would find any availability anywhere. We called around to a few condo owners and a couple of resorts that we were familiar with....no luck! We called Shores of Panama and luckily they had a room (I believe it was their last available room for the week). The girl who answered was very helpful and accommodating. Once we arrived, we checked in quickly, drove right up to the tenth floor to our reserved parking spot. Our room was very nice. There were a few things we didn't like, but nothing major. When we arrived there were no towels or rags in our room, but once we notified the staff, housekeeping came right away. The chair issue at the pool was a bit crazy, but one morning the staff came by and took all of the towels off the chairs and piled them up so that the people who were outside needing a chair got one! I loved that. We just ended up going out by 7am and got our chairs just fine. The only thing thing that actually was quite annoying was the people yelling from the balcony and it echoing EVERY NIGHT!!! I felt like I was in a frat house. If the staff could do something about that....I would have given this resort 5 stars. Overall, we were extremely pleased and I would stay here again.

The pool deck has a stage with live music events, huge hot tub, plenty of lounge chairs, and beautiful landscaping. The location is perfect! It's walking distance to walmart, pompanos, pineapple willy's, club la vela, and dee's hangout!!! Minus 1 star for the elevator being so slow during peak summer months. Other than that, this condo is awesome :) our unit was great- we found it on VRBO.

We have been traveling for many years now. I'm 52. My wife is slightly younger. We have stayed at a lot of places throughout the US. Shores of Panama City Beech is the worst Condo we have ever stayed at. Our condo had dirty towels everywhere, urine stains on the toilet, pieces of garbage on the floors, broken dresser drawers, a room phone that had no dial tone, limited cooking utensils/supplies and FILTHY carpet. We kept our shoes on so that our feet and socks didn't get dirty. 3 1/2 to 4 hours after we checked in, and with me having to raise my voice, management finally had the room cleaned. The pool area and deck still had empty bottles and garbage floating in the water at 10:00 AM on Saturday! The deck had garbage from one end to the other. Deck chairs thrown into the flowers from the previous nights "Parties" were in the bushes for 2 DAYS! The sand was always littered with garbage and trash cans over filled with garbage until about 12- 1:00 P.M. when they finally emptied the garbage cans. People were flashing lazer lights in peoples windows and the beech goers at night. If I could rate this a negative 5... I would. When we brought this up to the resort management, their attitude was like they didn't have a care in the world! I highly suggest you stay far away from this waste of money "Resort" I have pictures if you want to contact me.

If you are looking for a good place to stay on your honeymoon, I would recommend an all-inclusive adults only resort, NOT a place like this. My friends and I went here for a group vacation at the end of June... and for that purpose, it turned out to be okay. Pros: Great pool! Close to the beach! Sand is soft, not rocky or dirty! Live music by the pool! You can buy drinks at the pool bar or you can just bring your own! No tipping hotel staff because you do it all yourself! Cons: Crowded elevators (We stayed on the 22nd floor and waiting for the elevator was NOT FUN!) Lots of people (makes it difficult to find a lounge chair near the pool) Very small, outdated fitness center Could be cleaner... (when you get down to the first floor near the lobby, it smells like raw sewage... mixed with a musty, moldy smell.) You have to pay if you want a chair by the beach... and they are not cheap! (I would recommend bringing your own beach chairs and an umbrella for shade!) The water is clean, but not crystal clear... don't be fooled by the pictures you see online! Other info: Each unit inside the condo is privately owned, so some may be nicely decorated and taken care of while others may not be. This is not like staying at a hotel because there's no cleaning staff and you have to buy your own toilet paper and stuff. Luckily, there's a Wal-mart nearby! No coolers at the pool, but you can bring them to the beach! While we were there, we did see a hammerhead shark swimming very close to the shore, but it was early in the morning and no people were in the water. The condo has a color-coded flag that they fly to warn people about dangerous situations which is nice!

Over the years coming here (I've frequented every year since the grand opening), there are several issues that continually pop up and have become larger issues. One such issue is room-service. Another is the 2 elevator locations for a 21+ floor hotel. Another issue is the armband system, as it is always changing. However, this past year's visit was the worst visit to any hotel I've ever visited. The Shores of Panama has outsourced nearly every job in the hotel except for the receptionist. Parking, pool cleaning, maidservice, etc is all being outsourced. #1: We arrived at the front desk to check in an hour early (hoping for an early check-in, as sometimes you get lucky), and found out that not only was that not an option but that our normal check-in time would also not be upheld. There was a guest sitting in the lobby who had been there for over 5 hours waiting on his room to be cleaned, and we were told that there was no timeframe for the cleaning of our room. We ended up getting up to our room about 9pm that night (6 hours after arriving, 5 hours after "guaranteed" check-in), effectively stealing our first night on vacation. This was unacceptable, as there were only 50 rooms requiring cleaning for the entire day. 2: After finally checking in, we are informed that we no longer have the little plastic wristbands to put on ourselves but that they have a heavier duty inch-wide tag to wrap around and they MUST do it themselves under a camera system so there was record of it happening and they will not re-issue a new one under any circumstances. Even small children must wear them now. 3: Upon entering our room, the problems continued. Nearly every door handle was broken and just hanging on the door "by a thread" so upon touching them, they would fall on the floor. 4: The towel rack in our bathroom was also broken, so that when my wife first hung a towel on it it immediately fell out of the wall and onto the floor. Yet one more thing that was broken. 5: No remote for the TV. I mean, really? Enough said. 6: Onto the bathrooms. I've stayed at some very cheap low-end hotels, and I've never seen a bathroom as dirty as this $3,000/week room. There was gunk in the shower, fecal matter and urine on the toilet seat and on the back of the toilet somehow, and hair all over the tub and in the shower drain so bad that the water did not drain out of the shower AT ALL. As I've mentioned before, roomservice is abysmal and always has been so we went to the Walmart right across the road and got some cleaning products and a cheap snake and cleaned it all ourselves and probably still beat the would-be time of the cleaning service. 7: 2 of the 3 kitchen barstools were busted. Not a huge deal, but it's kind of hard to eat a meal at a 5-ft table in a 2-ft chair that won't stay lifted. 8: The thermostat was locked. This might not be a big deal to most people, but in a 100 degree climate I don't want to walk into a 74 degree room. The thermostat was locked and could not be changed below 74 degrees. 9: Lastly, and I do mean "lastly" as we will never return to this establishment again. The parking. We were planning on leaving the next day, so like normal we go out at around 11pm for one last ride around the strip, to get gas in the car, and to get some snacks for the road so that we can jump in the car and head right out the next afternoon. Upon returning to the parking garage we find someone parked in our reserved space (they are reserved by room #), and after driving through the 12 floors of the garage we find 0 unreserved spaces. The frustration in this is that half of the parking spaces are vacant because the rooms weren't being rented, but we can't use them because they are reserved for the invisible people. After going down to the lobby and informing them of the car in our space, we also tell them which reserved space we are parked in and then the fun begins. They tell us to move our car or we will be towed, and that no exceptions will be made under any circumstances even if that room/parking space is not being rented. Irritating, but somewhat understandable still. They call a tow truck, and they tell us that the tow truck is on the way to vacate our space. They proceed to tell us that we cannot park in the temporary parking located on the first floor, because the tow truck takes too long to get there, usually 3+ hours. Keep in mind it is after midnight at this point. They demand that we park over a mile down the road at the Post Office and walk over 20 minutes back to the hotel. So me and my 7-month pregnant wife are expected to park over 20 minutes away, walk back in the dark at 1am, sit in the lobby for over 3 hours, and then walk back to get the car, only to come back and park in my "guaranteed" parking space, pack up, then leave. I'm sure you see the numerous issues here. The receptionist was extremely rude, and an amazing thing was we weren't the only ones doing this "parking space dance" that night. Fed up, we packed up.

Just got back from a stay over spring break. I was nervous after reading the reviews and called to get the total fees I could expect. I also compared and found that similar properties were charging cleaning and resort fees too, I let it go and really enjoyed the place. Jet ski's and parasailing off the beach and the hotel pool was great! We had a washer/dryer in the room so was able to get away with only bringing carry on's for the plane and full function kitchen and fridge. Several good dining options within walking distance, as was a Walmart (and only a little further was a Dollar Tree) for supplies. We originally were assigned a ground level room without a view and after waiting around a while, was moved up to the top floor and loved the view. The elevators were slow on the east wing and smelly in general. If they upgraded the elevators, it would probably be 5 stars.

Great beach brings the rating to a two from a minus one. Many problems with the room and poor service. Problems included a dirty room, broken lock on sliding door, missing small appliances, lack of seating, no privacy curtains for room on first floor next to pool. Come to Panama City beaches but stay away from this property, it suffers from four star pricing but delivers one star service and results.

Pros: - Beautiful pool; however, it was difficult trying to find a chair/spot. - On the beach. - Near everything/great location. But we went during July 4th weekend so there were traffic. Cons: - Elevators suck! : We had to take the stairs the entire time we were there (we were on the eight floor), probably got on it twice. The elevators took forever so there were so many people waiting for them. - Parking garage was horrible. : The garage was so tight -- it was difficult to maneuver in a big car. And if you are not an owner, you have to search for non-reserved parking space, which can take a while to look for one, since they are so rare! - Condos' linens were not too clean. - We basically had to clean the condo ourselves before leaving: take out the trash, places all dirty linens on the floor, wash the dishes - all on their policy. Overall, I would not stay at this condo again.

Please read!!! I believe in always giving praise to the managers of businesses for excellent service at restaurants, hotels, or any place I frequent. all they ever hear is the negative or complaints. Having excellent experience needs to be voiced. Seldom do I post negatives until now... When we first got there, parking is a huge issue when you arrive as you can't unload even though it looks like a valet service out front. In order to receive a luggage cart you must leave your drivers license. I could understand this so they make sure it is returned. I booked thru delta for 330.00 for one night tax included for the condo. The kicker was a $209. Extra fee for beach and pool access. This includes a cleaning fee. The receptionist was oblivious...unprofessional and rude...The room didn't have any towels. Several light bulbs were out in the 3 bedroom condo. I had to use the bathroom light for my bedroom. There was mold in all of the showers on the curtains. This place is classified as a resort/spa. Um no....fortunately we only stayed one night as I had booked another condo for the remainder of our trip. Please please do not stay there and get hit with extra fee's. Some people can't afford extra fees like that out of the blue if they are on a budget...

I stayed at the shores of panama last year in May and I must say that the room was beautiful.. Very spacious and clean. The pool area was gorgeous and I must say me and the kids enjoyed every moment of it. Great location. From now on if I can't stay at the shores of panama then I don't want to stay anywhere else.. Can't wait to return!!!!!!

We had an awesome experience here! Our condo was huge, nice and clean. The price was great!! Definitely the best place to stay at in PCB!! Largest pool as well!
(5)Derek L.
If you rent from here stay only as high as parking deck lol. Elevators take along time but that's normal in most condos this big.the stairs are horrible food, drinks, pee, throw up everywhere.Pools are great, but there was some glass first day in pool. The pool for kids to play in that starts shallow and gets deep.my son loved.just hated all the adults sitting in their chairs all over the pool. Chairs are all usually taken by ppls towels at 6am.$375 for the pool and amenities no matter if u stay one day or a week is crazy. Room had glass all over floor and no towels . Management had someone clean 4hours after we showed up but we had already cleaned bc of our child. Management was rude and acted like it was our fault.Room was beat with holes in the walls and unclean.

Stayed here for a week and it's breathtaking hotel. Beautiful hotel, beautiful pool, easy access to the beach, PRICELESS view and pretty close to good restaurants and stores. Our room was great, had a full kitchen (pots, pans, plates and everything), washing machine and dryer and a nice terrace. They also have fun daily activities and events, not just for the kids, but for the whole family. Pool area has a bar and nice food cabana. Parking is unique too and you can park on the level of your room (although I think it only goes up 12 floors) making loading and unloading easy. Only bad things I have to say, is #1- this hotel is like 23 something floors and only has like 6 (considerably small for the hotel's size) elevators. If your room is way up the 20s or even the teens, getting up and down this hotel is probably gonna be complicated, especially in the afternoon. #2- of all the great amenities this hotel comes with, THERE'S NO ROOM WIFI!!! There is wifi in the lobby. There is room internet by cord and you have to plug it in your computer/laptop. This was kind of disappointing, but honestly it was good in a way that it was break from phones and computers and just time to relax and have fun.

We had a great time. We booked without looking at reviews...choosing the resort with the coolest looking pool. We wanted a real RESORT feel. Then, a few weeks before going, getting excited about our vacation, we looked at reviews...ouch. We found the staff to be friendly, except for the poor souls who had to sit all day at the gate between the pool and the beach, making sure only guests came in...what a crappy job. Our condo was clean, and pretty. The parking lot is tight, but was certainly not an issue for us. It was funny that most cars in it were big SUVs. The elevators were slow, but not so slow that it was ever a real issue for us. Everyone seemed to take the elevators in stride. Bookit.com made it clear from the start that we would have fees to pay when we arrived, and we, from the start, included them in our budget. Our concerns were minimal. Our condo could have used another chair or two. The one couch didn't afford enough lounging space for our family of four. It was really crowded, but that is part of the deal, staying at a resort in Panama City Beach in July. Another complaint is about some of the guests were freaking slobs. We walked on the beach each morning, and there was trash all over it, thousands of beer cans. What a bummer for the staff to have to clean up each day. That kind of behavior will make locals and employees really bitter about the tourists who pay their bills. All in all we had a great time, and would certainly return

Where should I start!? First off the hotel itself is breathtaking, no doubt about that. BUT, the customer service was awful! I've went with my boyfriend and his family for Memorial Day weekend. First, the packing deck size was super small compared to other parking deck and finding a parking space was super hard! Since we drove a van. We checked in the front desk and customer services was pretty decent until they told us they're charging $150 extra for room services and cleaning fee. We though that was already included when we paid online for our room! which was $350 PER NIGHT already. So we let that slide because we understand that was Memorial Weekend and workers need to get paid. We then got the keys to the room and guess what? We booked three rooms on " book it.com" and when we checked around we only received two room and one bunk bed! The kitchen was small and so was everywhere else! We walked back down to ask them and they said it was the website fault for not making it clear. Later we requested for more towels and blankets and room services never came! This happened the whole time we were there.. NEVER EVER AGAIN will we be returning! So, unless you want to waste money I suggest you not come here!! My friends who stayed at " pineapple willy's" said there services and room was amazing! So, I'm definitely going over there next time! && It's right across the street!

I wish I would have researched this place a little bit more. When you drive into the place, you think WOW! This is going to be nice. But then, you check in and get your room number, which ours was 1230. Parking- horrible! We had to drive up the parking garage 12 floors and then park opposite side of where we would enter the resort. With luggage in hand, because they didn't have carts on each floor, we went through a maze of hallways to finally find our room which was a good city block or 2 from where we parked. The room- was a nice layout and that's about it. It was quite dated as was the couch and chair. We had to sit on the floor because both couch and chair were sunk in and had springs sticking in our back, literally. When we returned from getting groceries, we stopped at the check in floor to get a cart and I had to leave my drivers license!! Just to use the cart! The pool area is super nice but the bar closes at 7, and the grill closes much earlier, at 3. I will never stay at or recommend this place again!
(2)Madeline B.
The views here are great and the access to the beach is easy. However, the level of cleanliness was poor. Rooms had dents and dings on the walls and didn't have any soap handy. The elevator system is awful. The wait for an elevator was at least 15 minutes if not longer. The customer service is poor and was not very helpful at all. Wouldn't suggest wasting your money here unless you intend to spend little to no time in the actual hotel.
