we normally go at least once when we go PCB. The oysters are a good size, service is friend and we enjoy the very causal outside dining area. Usually go after we have been at the beach.

One of my most favorite places on earth. You cant mess up raw oysters. I bring my own hot sauce for them. The Blue Crabs are the best ever and for the price, its even more awesome! its a dump but the food and prices make it so enjoyable. Kinda outdoorsy with an indoor restaurant as well. Its Florida!

deliberating where to spend my last night in panama city beach. location was an influence...having draft beer was an influence...but overall dissappointed in this choice. $10 for a smallish draft pitcher, which was not exatly ice cold .the prices on simple seafood stuff like a dozen raw oysters, was almost 2x the price of the place next door an while ok, nothing to write home about. i also had the steamed gulf shrimp, what they are famous for(??) eh, once again, ok-ish and severly overpriced. hmmm, considering one star now..no, the food was not bad, but the $$$ and not great service makes me think 2 star is a generous review

Food was delicious. Oysters Rockefeller blue crabs snow crabs steamed clams and steamed shrimp and pepper crusted wings were great. Kids ate chicken tenders and shrimp poppers. Great prices for quality food.

Really good for price, 2 children 9 and 11 were pleased as well! We had the fish tacos

Despite bringing a big family (about 30 ppl) here around 9 pm, the staff was able to accommodate for our big party size. We called about 30 mins in advance to inform them. There was no problem with seating us as soon as we arrived. Wait staff was courteous and friendly. They were organized from the beginning so there was no confusion at the end as to how we were splitting our checks. My GF loved the pepper crusted wings while my favorite was the clam chowder in sourdough bread. Best I've had since my trip to San Fran. Oh yeah, we were informed all them dollar bills on the ceiling were eventually donated to charity. :)

The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is I wish I had got my gumbo..that being said everything else was great..I guess our waiter just forgot. We definitely be back:)

What's a Florida vacation without some oyster's and seafood? We actually intended on eating at a place down the street but saw that Billy's had more cars in the parking lot, so we thought "this place must be good". We were right:) the raw oysters were amazing-- very fresh and so tasty that I ended up eating 2 dozen on my own. The baked oyster (even though I'm not a fan of cooked oysters) were good as well-- lots of flavor (cheese/butter/garlic). I also got a cup of the gumbo-- it's not what you'd get in New Orleans but still very delicious and flavorful with a giant piece of crab in it to top it off. We also got the tuna dip which was probably all of our favorite part of our meal-- it's not a mayonaise based dip so it comes out more like a tuna salad with chips but it just tastes amazing. The peel and eat shrimp has a spicy kick (not too spicy) to it that adds a great flavor rather than just plain peel and eat shrimp...and the fish tacos were also good-- even though it's more like a fish wrap than a taco. All the food paired with some cold beer just made for a perfect "Florida seafood meal". Price was good and service was great--will definitely be back.

I went there this evening based on yelps reviews..it was just ok..nothing special. I had the oysters and the fish and chips special. The oysters were good. The special came out and it was smaller than my kids entrees (which were an adequate size- good point). The atmosphere was just a bar. Some good points are that they have outside seating and we did not have to wait. Bad points were the price of the food..which is why you cannot find their price on yelp or on their site..plan on 20 a person plus 2.95 for a non aloholic drink and the aforementioned kids meals.

The best Oysters I have ever eat!!! I ordered Oysters two different ways and both were amazing!! Best Crab cakes so far in Panama City Beach!! Awesome shrimp! Great blue crab! May not look like much but Yum, Yum!!!! Came for the Crab, but will go back again and again for the Oysters!!!!!

  • Robin C.

The food was terrible. We ordered the Grouper, crab cakes, and Gumbo. We left most of it on the table . The service was ok but would never eat here again.

  • Kim B.

The restaurant was near my hotel so I decided to give it a try. I had the Blue Crabs - fresh caught that day. They were delicious. It was my first time trying blue crab and the waitress was great! She gave me a demo on how to eat them. I sat outside and enjoyed the Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis music show they were playing. Overall a great experience!

Great place to eat for blue crab and oysters, we always have cane here for years. Most Def one of our favorite places

    (5)
  • elizabeth o.

Oysters were good. The gumbo was good but needed more flavor. The grilled grouper was flavorless and under cooked. Most of the dishes are "market price" even the steak. Way over priced and service was not very good.

    (2)
  • Woody B.

Food is always great! Oysters, fish tacos, and Cuban sandwich are our favorites. Outside seating is nice. Can't be in a hurry, as it takes a while to get your food whether the place is packed or you're the only one, be prepared to wait.

  • Andrea O.

Came for lunch. Boiled shrimp appetizer was good. Liked the lobster bisque. Hush puppies tasty.

    (4)
  • Julie B.

Normally Billy's is good. Yesterday was a very bad experience. Tons of shells in the oysters. The silverware was dirty, glasses were dirty, hot sauce bottles were disgusting. Try wiping them down every down and then. The menus had food on them. I wonder how clean the kitchen is? Lost my family as a customer.

    (1)
  • Becky L.

Visited Billy's after doing Hunt's Oyster Bar. The oysters at Billy's had good taste but we're not as fresh and they were gritty.

    (2)
  • Yezi T.

I ordered fried crab claws and fried shrimp. the dish came with a choice of two sides and coleslaw. The food was amazing and not to busy because it's more of a local place and away from the spring breakers. Our waitress was kind and one of the best waitress I've ever experienced. I will be coming back!

    (5)
  • Cindy G.

We have eaten here for 6 plus year. On our vacation we usually go here twice. Love their steamed shrimp!! My husband gets the seafood platter. Prices are reasonable and waitress always super nice!! Atmosphere is not great but food is!!

Horrible. It's sad that this place is so bad. How can seafood restaurant at the beach have such bad seafood? When we asked the server if the seafood was local, she actually laughed. The fish for the fish and chips (which was on special) was of completely unknown origin. The server said that it was "sorta like grouper" , but was frozen and from Japan. The Barbecued Shrimp that my wife ordered was merely shrimp doused in barbecue sauce with a few sliced potatoes thrown in. NOT anything like Bbq shrimp from New Orleans. My crawfish were small, but decent. The kid's meal fried shrimp was Ok, but again, not fresh or local. Lastly, our meal took forever to arrive. The place was not crowded... Nearly empty inside. Really bad experience. Will not return.

  • Michael L.

Almost empty for lunch - should have been a sign. Gumbo - taste like chef dumped a whole bottle of file' into it, added way too much cajun season to the point of being over salty, tossed 1/2 blue crab in to season, and added some okra and rice. Waitress was clueless and didn't bother asking wfey why she only ate a spoonful. Grilled grouper sandwich - totally unseasoned. Ordered side of coleslaw - did not get as they had not made it for the day - WHAT? It's 1 pm at a seafood place and no coleslaw! Fred crab claws were good - the saving grace. The smoked tuna dip was dry and just not worth it. Tea was weak too..... Too many other options abound

    (2)
  • Chase G.

Billy's is the best seafood we have had in PCB. We usually get crab claws and fried shrimp. Best in the area in our opinion. The wait can be quite long at times, but worth it I promise! Great beer prices ($1.50 Rolling Rock). Outdoor seating is awesome and the service is usually pretty good. We always come here when we are in town!

    (4)
  • Robin Y.

Shrimp, crawfish and clam chowder were all pretty good. Ruben sandwich was a little like eating beef jerky on bread. The staff was inattentive, slow, lazy and very forgetful. We sat next to a dirty table for the entire time we were there. Our table and the table behind us were not cleaned until someone asked for it to sit at. We won't go back. Upside: they're pet friendly on the patio. Downside: they're also smoke friendly on the patio.

  • April S.

We arrived during happy hour early on a Tuesday afternoon. We grabbed a booth on the mostly empty patio. The patio area is large and comfortable but since the restaurant is located on Thomas Dr you're getting a view of the street. Our server went over the happy hour specials which made it easy to decide what to order. Two for one well drinks and draft beer. Half price wings. Bingo!! I ordered a well vodka soda and an order of pepper crusted hot wings. I'm not sure what the "pepper crusted" thing was all about because the wings seemed pretty traditional to me. They were mild in spice and impressive in size. No joke... these wings were huge!! I could only eat about 4 wings before I was full. I had a little help with a couple of them and took 4 wings home. So I ended up with two meals for around 5 dollars (happy hour price). What a deal! We didn't try the oysters but we did try the steamed gulf shrimp appetizer which was not on special. The shrimp were tasty and they seemed to be seasoned with some kind of curry. Billy's is nothing special but not a bad place either.

Very laid back great place. Cheap food and great service. Fun for the kids. We had Blue crab and a seafood platter. They were both wonderful.

    (4)
  • Lyle H.

Dissappointed hoping fr classic hole in the wall great food but not to be . Fish and chips were just meh . Good beer, fast service and attentive waitress were the pluses. I may give them one more shot, but not for awhile

    (2)
  • Bethany P.

Good food. I over dressed it is very casual. A local place it seems. Our waiter was not very helpful however he wasn't awful. It's a neat little place had really good fried crab claws. Very large portions.

    (3)
  • Charlsie A.

Do not come to PCB and not eat here!!!!!!! The baked Parmesan oysters are to die for!!!! Great atmosphere, casual, great for kids and families! Loved it.

    (5)
  • Scott R.

Very busy and seemed short staffed the night we went but the food was great. Wife had the gumbo with huge chunks of seafood, crayfish and a crab claw sticking out! Peel and eat shrimp was good with lots of Old Bay, fried Gulf shrimp was battered just right. Overall a good meal and experience and we would go back again.

  • Liz O.

Ok. This might sound crazy but Billy's is my top reason for visiting PCB. I love their famous Blue Crab. When I'm there on vacation, I have to eat at Billy's at least once everyday. If you know you don't want blue crab better not waste your time and money on Billy's. Their food is not that great. If you are craving raw or baked oysters just go to Hunts. If u know of any restaurants that prepare crab like theirs, please let me know.

    (5)
  • Matt C.

Cheep beer, fresh seafood and great crawfish (when in season) . If you want to pay for a view and ambiance, go across the street to The Boatyard or Captain Anderson's, If you want a great meal at half the price for the exact same thing (maybe better) go to Billy's.

    (5)
  • Matt T.

Billy's is another favorite of my wife and I when we are down at PCB. We usually order the same things; me the jalapeño baked oysters and my wife the crab claws and shrimp. The food we order is usually good. However, I have to admit that the place does take some getting used to. The wait staff is hit or miss on service and the place can seem chaotic at times. In fact, last night our server didn't even know that there was a speciality drink menu. When your patrons know your menus better than the staff, that is a problem.

    (3)
  • Brett B.

They were out of Blue Crab when we went here. We decided to order the baked oysters (Garlic Ramano). The oysters were so small they were nearly invisible. I know this is not the best season for oysters, but we had them at Hunt's last night and they were huge. The kids got fried grouper and it tasted really fishy. Happy Hour was 2 for 1 so that's a plus. I wouldn't go back here with so many other good choices in PCB.

    (2)
  • Julie N.

Cute little place! I had the raw oysters which were very good. The oyster stew was amazing I would highly recommend it. I will definitely be back on future trips to this area.

    (4)
  • Gordon L.

We had oysters which were huge and very tasty. The servings were large and so was the price. We had to walk away from food. I would like a smaller serving at a lower price.

    (4)
  • Scott W.

Me and my family went there tonight for seafood and the didn't have half of the things on the menu. They would be better if they actually had the food advertised. Out of grouper, no lobster, no grilled shrimp.

    (1)
  • Tommy R.

This is a pretty good place. Steamed shrimp was the best I have had and also the steamed crab claws were good. Oysters were only okay but you never know with oysters that could be the eater as well but I found them tasteless and watery. I thought the gumbo was pretty tasty if not traditional gumbo. A little tip they might not want to serve it with the crawfish still in it or just top with a crawfish. Antennae in every bit. Kids had a good turkey burger and pepper crusted chicken wings which were absolutely delicious. Beer was on draft and was cold and tasty. Atmosphere and service were really good. Decent experience for a decent dollar.

We were in Panama City visiting our honeymoon spot from 44 years ago. One night we set out to eat at the Boat Yard. After walking around the restaurant and taking a look inside we decided it wasn't for us. It was too touristy no matter how good the food might have been We had read about Billy's oyster bar which was pretty much across the street. There was about a 20 minute wait. We decided to sit at the bar and ended up eating our dinner at the bar. There was the nicest young guy shucking oysters right in front of us. He recommended the steamed Parmesan crab oysters. They were delicious. My husband ordered some raw ones also. He ordered steamed blue crab and I ordered the fried soft shell crab. I had never had soft shell crab before and it was wonderful. Choosing to eat at the bar was a great decision and a memorable experience.

When you think Oyster Bar you probably don't think family friendly place. Or that's what I thought. My friend took my family of 4 kids here to try "good seafood" since my kids and I aren't big on it. The result... They absolutely loved the popcorn shrimp!! We couldn't get it out the kitchen fast enough. Everything was delicious. Hush puppies are big. Bake Oysters with Jalapeño is Devine. It's was my first time having them and I am hooked! Price was great too! My kids loved the butcher paper to drawn on and it keep the kiddos entertained. It's a great place, go if you haven't gone!!

    (5)
  • A N.

The quality of this place has gone down since our first visit two years ago. Every time we go we play 50 dollars for refried hushpuppies and buttered food...

    (2)
  • Edward B.

I have never had oysters so fill with shells EVER. Half the silverware was dirty. The picture of the tuna dip was an example of whole experience. Sloppy and all over the place.

    (1)
  • Me 2.

Not that great. Oysters weren't cleaned weep and had grit, shrimp tasted like it had been frozen. Kinda a hole in the wall. I mean, it was ok. It nothing to write home about.

    (3)
  • Deniece M.

Ive only been here once, waited for table for almost an hour, the food is pretty expensive but I have to say hands down best coconut shrimp ive ever had. Also the service was excellent, our waitress was very upbeat and friendly. I will definitely wait in line to eat here again

    (4)
  • Will R.

Great seafood joint, typically away from the tourist crowd. Great oysters - raw or baked. The steamer plates are well worth the money. Short wait and excellent service.

    (4)
  • Mary H.

Took visitors there for oysters. Total embarrassing experience. Dirty glasses with lipstick on one. Brought extra plates that were dirty. Took over an hour for food to arrive.ordered Cuban sandwiches, and after waiting and waiting, we're told they were out of meat and couldn't make them. The raw oysters were fresh according to guest. Baked were nothing special. Rockefeller were good. Clam chowder was pretty good. Burger, fish taco and chicken were not worth the wait. We are locals and have been here before for a quick bar meal and drinks. Do not go for lunch.or during the holidays. Not sure what took 30 minutes for raw oysters that were poorly schucked. Overall- really bad experience. Hope no one gets sick .

    (1)
  • Abe S.

Absolutely terrible! We went in for lunch on a weekday and saw a lot of cars there, figuring it must be great with so many people there. Turns out it's because they couldn't leave... The service was that slow. Two tables sat uncleaned the entire time we were there. The oysters were miniscule and poorly shucked. The shrimp po' boy was horrible (overcooked with tons of grit). Fries were heavily salted. Extremely disappointed with every aspect of this supposed restaurant. There are so many great places to eat in PCB that you don't need to settle for this place!

    (1)
  • M A.

I have been here several times and the crab and shrimp combo (not on the online menu) is one of my favorite meals of all time. This is a huge platter with tons of blue crab claws and shrimp. I've never had it fried, but they offer fried and steamed. The covered patio makes it an awesome atmosphere and it's close enough to the water the breeze makes it feel great on even the hottest days (seating available inside too). The times I've been they've had some awesome beer specials too! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    (5)
  • Elizabeth R.

Food was horrible. But the place is packed, not sure why?

    (2)
  • Hannah H.

We love Billy's! It's a must every time we visit PCB. We got the Shrimp and Crab Claws, Fish and Shrimp & doz oysters. I loved the steamed shrimp and crab claws!! Yum!! We went twice, our first visit was on a Wednesday night. Very calm and relaxing dinner. Second was more crowded but we we were still treated great, had the same waitresses and she was really good. All the food was great! My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because the oysters were high compared to other restaurants in the area. They were $10.99 a dozen. Other places were $6-8 a dozen.

    (4)
  • Joe P.

The service was average. Nothing impressive but not horrible. The food was also average. We went for the crawfish. None of the food was wow good. Just usual fried stuff the area.

    (3)
  • Katie P.

Quick and friendly service. Incredible baked oysters! Family friendly good variety on menu.

On a recent business trip to Panama City, I was on my way back from the beach when I thought "wait a minute. I'm hungry. Why didn't I just eat at one of the jive beach-side bars?" I concluded that I was an idiot for letting the opportunity pass. But I also concluded that being an idiot didn't make me any less hungry. Billy's to the rescue!! As it so happened, Billy's is not on the beach. In fact, it's about 5 miles from the beach, on a stretch of road that is otherwise unsightly. This works against Billy's as much as it works for it. On one hand, it was convenient for me. On the other, unless you are in Panama City commuting to the Beach, or vice versa, you wouldn't happen by it. But besides being convenient, they do one thing well that makes them a destination: Raw Oysters. I decided to have a half dozen raw oysters at this joint, mostly to see what BP oil really tastes like (I mean..honestly..haven't you ever smelled gasoline and thought "what an enticingly sweet bouquet! I wonder if it tastes the way it smells!). To my delight, it tastes suspiciously like raw oysters. Like genuine, fresh, mouth-watering raw oysters. They were cold, but not filled with ice crystals like the ones at the cheap oyster bars. The shells were absent of the salt crystals that inevitably ruin the oyster taste should you extend your bottom lip too low onto while partaking. And the oysters themselves were dislodged for you, so all you have to do is SLURP! If you are in the neighborhood, and have a friend that has never tried oysters before, take him/her to this place. Too many people are scared away from oysters forever because their first experience was a bad one. This is oysters the way they're meant to be eaten - straight out of the ocean..... then washed, shucked, dislodged, and dipped in cocktail sauce before sliding down a throat.

    (4)
  • Billy M.

This place rocks. We really enjoyed the food. This place has been in PCB forever and never tried. Its will be on our list for years to come.

    (5)
  • Tara C.

Found this place driving around stopped by and not bad. Sat outside to watch the football game, the TVs were small and so were the oysters, one kind of wings were too hot for me and the other kind had no sauce on them. The beer was good though! Ok place for a chill early night, they close at 9:30pm during the week.

    (4)
  • Catherine A.

What happened?...this place had the looks...walls of a seafood house about to dish me a plate of PCB!...Turns out they host the worst gumbo on the planet. Water, rice + basil leaf. The seasoned steamed shrimp were great as were the fried oysters. It was sadly just too much $ for not the best meal; I blame my ordering and their bad night. raw oysters looked bangin !

    (2)
  • Jonathan M.

Good food. I really liked the crab cakes. Service was a little slow, but not bad. I would go back. It sits right on the road so if you want beach atomsphere, this isn't the place.

    (3)
  • Jerry R.

Awesome, very good crab legs, gumbo. I must say the grouper was the best I have ever had. Service was pretty good, but the food was awesome...

  • Angi R.

After a really cold dive on New Year's Day, my friends and I were tired, hungry and craving warm food. This was the first open restaurant after the docks. From the outside, it looked like a faux-shack tourist trap but we were pleasantly surprised. First of all, it looked much nicer on the inside. The waitress came to our table right away, we all ordered hot tea and our mugs were never empty from that point on. This waitress had five other tables and was equally attentive to all of us. We begain with an appetizer of baked oysters with garlic and romano cheese (Yep...delicious!). Then, I ordered the crab cakes and my friends got gumbo and burgers. The food was hot, fresh and even looked great. Just about perfection.

  • Mark E.

The only reason I hold judgement is that the very thing we set out to eat was fresh out when we arrived. My wife and I asked a couple of cops in Grayton where the best place to get fresh blue crab was. They gave us two options, one of which was Billy's. So, we drove the necessary 22 miles to find it. It had all the trappings of a good crab joint. Cheap linoleum floors. Cheap formica tabletops. Slightly humid atmosphere. And just a hint of an era when smoking was encouraged whilst dining. We sat down with out two kids and promptly ordered two crab dinners. We were told they were out. After picking up the pieces, we found some other sundries to stave our hunger. The oysters were good, but over cheesy. They were a fantastic deal, though. Best prices on fresh oysters we encountered the whole trip. I would definitely give it another shot, but I'd call first to make sure they have fresh crab.

    (3)
  • Matthew C.

Solid seafood and great service. Not a crowd at all in a Tuesday which almost scared us away. Glad we took the chance. Good value and easy dinner.

  • Finnegan M.

I had to give this place five stars as my Mom and her "posse" have been eating here now for almost 20 years and love the place. She hasn't even taken me there yet, her own best friend! (Well, after my Dad, anyway). As a result, most of this review is "hearsay" from her with my little paws typing away at the keyboard. But she loves blue crab, and she says it just doesn't get any better than Billy's! Now that I have read the other reviews, I see that the place is pet friendly with a deck area, so she has to take me now, after all, I am a service dog and I can even go inside the restaurant. So when we get back to our home in Florida, you can look for me there eating my favorite meal: fresh shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico. See you there!

The best crab baked oysters in town!

  • Crystie S.

It was okay. Our 16-year-old LOVES it. I had the blue crabs, and the had they REALLY HOT spice on them. It was nice sitting out on the deck.

Great Food, Great service and pet friendly on the deck!!!!

The oysters were fresh, big, and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for the oysters and will come back every time. A+!
