Quality vs cost....the food was quality, and the service excellent. The cost....there is not one thing on the menu over 8.00-my husband the good Ole boy Benedict $7.79 it was a large portion and the biscuit was fresh in house baked. I had the 3 egg California omelet. Spinach, bacon, avocado, jack cheese, with sourdough toast $ 6.99-more than I could eat, hubby had to finish for me. Great ambiance. The restaurant is located in historical Palmetto. The building was built in the late 1800's....affordable breakfast, great experience

What a great spot. The atmosphere is quaint, and the food and service was excellent! The omelet was more stuffing than egg and the cheesy potatoes are a must.

Mediocre. I like the atmosphere but the food tasted bland and like it came out of a box. The servers are nice though but I won't be coming back

In opening, I have to say that Norma Rae's is very cute. I really feel like it is an old piece of Palmetto history. With that being said, I feel as though the restaurant is average. I had biscuits and gravy with grits and bacon and my wife had Eggs Benedict. The biscuits and gravy tasted like the gravy was made with corn beef hash. The bacon was standard precooked. The biscuits were subpar. The best part of my breakfast were the grits. They actually tasted like fresh stone ground goodness. The prices are affordable and the service is good. $22 for us is average for breakfast. Go to Norma Rae's and try it out for yourself. It's a decent breakfast at a decent price in the atmosphere is cozy. It's a lot better than Popi's Too located 5 blocks north.

We came in on a Saturday morning. Service was excellent! Food was very good!! Sausage links were especially awesome!

I have found a new favorite spot for brunch!! Food was excellent, flavorful, fresh and well simply delicious. Homemade at its best! I had a pecan pumpkin spice waffle and my husband the apparently famous corned beef hash (now we know why it is do acclaimed)... It was very, very tasting. The staff was super friendly and everyone at the restaurant friendly and warm. The area is being revamped and the restaurant is quaint, very charming. Such a comforting experience.

First time visitor this morning to Norma Rae's, on the advice of a guy I met in line at the fish market. What a great experience. Easter Sunday, it wan't crowded and we were seated immediately by a charming waitress. The place has a great vibe, old timey gracefully done. The wait staff and the customers were having fun. Our waitress helped us order and made recommendations, really owned that menu. The food came quick, everything about it was delicious. My omelette was perfect, bacon tasty and crammed with tender asparagus I'd asked for. My bf's garden quesadilla had six kinds of veggies and was perfectly crispy. My friend had corned beef hash and two of the most perfectly poached eggs I've ever seen. The rye toast was a thing of beauty. Thanks for the recommendation, Cory. I've passed it on. Can't wait to go again.

Great atmosphere and home style cooking. Located at the old downtown area in a quaint older building. All the regular breakfast classics that you ezpect, plus occasional specials like mini croissant french toast.

Just found this spot recently. Only tried the breakfast. Food was good. Have a good selection on the menu. Was overly loud on the Sunday I went. Bradenton has very few spots for breakfast so this one remains on my list.

I had the Swiss alp burger. Nothing special. I went there because I thought I would get something hand crafted, the burger was obviously from a box and previously frozen. No flavor and canned mushrooms. Very disappointed.

Our favorite breakfast place!! Great food, cute decor, & fast, friendly service! Omelettes are awesome!! Great toast & pancakes! And the coffee is good too!

Excellent food! Their homemade bread are delicious!!!! I ate the corned beef hash and eggs, it was magnifique!!! Order a side of their famous potato and cheese cuz it's just divine. Staff are very friendly!

Truly wonderful. The food was excellent. I had a belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream, as well as a side of the cheesy potatoes. You have to have the potatoes! My husband had the special- cinnamon roll french toast. He said it was the best french toast he had ever had. The restaurant itself is so cute- country home decor inside and the staff is very friendly. Busy place, we went on a Sunday morning around 10 and waited just a few minutes. Definitely would recommend Norma Rae's!

I came out of my way to try their signature corned beef hash. It looked as if the cook scraped the grill to get any loose bits and I ended up with them . The cheesy potatoes were gluey. Bread was good. Ambiance was charming. The good news is, coffee is included with a combo. I'm going to give this place one more chance, for lunch perhaps. Jeanette p, bradenton,fl.

This place was amazing! Absolutely adorable inside, and a cozy feel. The food was wonderful and so was the service! I would definitely recommend this charming little place! I wish I lived closer, I would make this a regular spot!

I have eaten here about 5 times and 3 of of 5 was not good. I just tried it again last week and got the biscuits and gravy and it was not good. It tasted like spicy glue on biscuits. I'm not impressed with their food at all. The place is really cute, but I don't think I'll be back.

I had the ham, Swiss and asparagus omelette. It was delicious with hollandaise sauce on top. Cheese potatoes are really good also

Really great place with decent prices. Friendly staff and the food was good. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I came here Sunday for breakfast. Very cute, cozy feeling. It reminded me lots of Savannah with the exposed brick and warm, welcoming feeling. The service was great and our meal was good...nothing to write home about, though. I had the eggs benedict with cheesy potatoes. Both were strictly average. I while the food is not outstanding, it is definitely one of the better places in the area for breakfast. And cuteness of it is what would draw me back.

We loved it! Walked over from the boat ramp and what a nice surprise! Great food, historic location and nice staff! Thanks!

Great restaurant. Nothing fancy but great, fresh, home made food. I love the BLT with fried egg and avocado. I've only eaten their for lunch several times. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

We tried this restaurant for the first time for Breakfast on a Wednesday morning based on the reviews on YELP. We were highly satisfied. Seat yourself, very cool old building Palmetto. Bottomless Coffee, definitely a plus. Their sourdough toast is actually big fluffy Sourdough toast (unlike a lot of restaurants where it's lame). I had a very tasty grilled Muffin, my wife had two eggs and a biscuit (coffee included in special). The food was very good, the service was great. Yes, they even have peanut butter which is a bonus for my toast. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, old wood floor, the decor inside, everything was cool about this place.

Delicious food. Prices are reasonable. This is a place where one does not rush through the meal. Nice option conveniently located in downtown Palmetto. Plenty of parking spaces. Friendly service. Nicely decorated.

We stopped here as a group on the way down to the beach for a wedding. We were hungry, hung over and determined to find some heavy fare. We found it here at Norma Rae's. Two of us had the eggs over corned beef hash. One of us had the eggs with sausage patties. All of us had multiple cups of coffee. The corned beef hash was awesome. Eggs were cooked perfectly. I had home fries, the others had the cheesey potatoes. Both were good. Service was good and fast. The place looses a star for under cooked biscuits though. They were pretty raw. I guess, when you make your own homemade, you just need to make sure they are cooked. We were so hungry we ate them without a comment to the staff, but they were for sure under cooked. Prices were very fair, and the place represents a good value. I would for sure come back.

I ordered the omlette - generous portions! Food was good but not great. I enjoyed the cheesy potatoes. Would try again.
