I enjoy the food, margaritas and service. I'm deducting a star for melting kraft singles on top of my dinner instead of shredded cheese.

This spot gets crowded at lunch time. They have a pretty full menu, including a lengthy lunch menu. Not much of a difference between the main menu and special lunch menu when it comes to what's offered, but the prices are a couple bucks lower on the lunch menu. For what you get, the prices aren't bad. You get below average quality with decent quantity for below average prices. So I suppose it all works out in the end. Going with with low expectations helps. The shredded beef has a decent flavor, so when choosing between ground beef, shredded beef, or chicken, go with the shredded beef. The service is friendly enough, but slow and rather inattentive. Be prepared to flag down someone if you're eating on a time limit.

Great service always, great drink selection and specials. The portion sizes are very small for the price. I ordered the breaded shrimp which was around $14, and what came was 6 tiny previously frozen shrimp on a bed of dry shredded lettuce. Not satisfying. But the margaritas are what gave this place the third star.

The pros: Came in when the restaurant was just opening, so premium service. Fairly friendly service from, Blanca. She wasn't bad on the eyes either. Idk how it would be if it was full. Quiet and clean, but again due to the time of day (around 11:45am). The freshness of the food was nice. Everything felt like it was made by hand, even the shredded cheese. Exceptional tortilla chips and shells. Probably the best part of the meal. The salsa with the basket of chips were warm and delicious. The cons: I usually judge a place by its number of patrons. After sitting for a while, the restaurant stayed almost empty. I figured a lunch crowd would roll in, so that tells me a little something. While the food was fresh, it didn't necessarily have flavor. The chips and salsa were the tastiest part of the meal. Good explosions of cilantro and onion in every bite. The picante salsa was great too. Had to pretty much use the salsa on everything. Too much lettuce drowning out the possible flavors. Overall, I'd come back to try one of the other none taco - type meals. That would give me a full assessment.

This is a pretty good little neighborhood restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but the food has been consistently good and although we typically get take out, the service is quick. It doesn't have great ambiance, but if you need to pick up a quick dinner it's tasty.

This neighborhood Mexican restaurant has been a favorite of ours for several years. The wait staff is ALWAYS prompt and every dish we have tried, has ALWAYS been fresh and simply delicious. Their prices are very reasonable for the huge portions you receive. If you want great, authentic, Mexican food, stop in!!

I have been eating at this restaurant for about two years now. I usually go there on Tuesdays to take advantage of their 99 cent margarita dinner specials. I just recently went 08/05/2014, and was a little disappointed to find out that their special has been updated, and now only applies before 7:30 pm if I remember correctly. Their atmosphere is nice. I would call it average. Their service is also acceptable. Their fajitas are what I would call their highlight for sure. Always satisfying. Never disappoints, whether you order it chicken or steak. I've also had their Ropa Veija, which is delicious as well. Great quality dish. House margaritas are made well, though I've occasionally gotten sugar around my rim instead of salt and had to request a new glass. This hasn't happened recently with me, though, so maybe they've improved on that. Four stars, because DELICOUS local fajitas which are affordable, and this is why I keep coming back.

I had the Carnitas. They were over cooked and very dry. They do not serve rice and beans with the meal. The wait staff was excellent. If a Mexican restaurant can not fix carnitas I wonder what they can prepare!!

Mediocre fare. Watery drinks. I've been eating fajitas for 25 years in restaurants, and was never told I would have to pay extra to get a few more tortillas so I could finish up the plate. They give you four small tortillas only!! And more tortillas, .50 for two!?? If they are that penny pinching cheap it makes you wonder how else they cut corners. Nothing tasted fresh. Everything from a can. I will never return to this dump.

We had a great experience with both the food and the service. Fish tacos are the way to go! Complimentary Chips, salsa and a black bean dip! Guacamole is delish! California burrito is enormous....beware!

The bean dip and service are great! But that's about it. The frozen margarita tastes like a Sprite slurpee.

After reading some very flattering reviews of this resturant, we decided to give it a try.I wonder if some of these reviewers ate at the same resturant. The resturant is pleasant to look at with a small outside eating area landscaped to try and block out busy Okeechobee. Inside was colorful and clean, typical Mexican colors and decor. We sat at the bar and were immediately offered menus. The house margarita was okay, needed more ice to be cold. Again we were offered menus. Staff seemed to be in a hurry, and sensing this we ordered. The food came out amazingly fast-too fast for it to have been prepared to order. My Nachos Grande were a sodden mess of cheeses I'm certain no Mexican people ever eat. What meat there was was soburied under all the cheese, Ii couldn't really get to it. The whole thing lay in a greasy pool. My tamale was also a huge disappointment. Dry, dry, dry. Absolutely no flavor until I put some of the salsa on it. That helped some what. My husband ordered chicken with black beans-no rice, no re-fried beans. Like I said, the food came out too quickly-there was no way his chicken was just cooked in those few minutes. When I tastted it, I know why. It obviously had been cooked earlier and kept warmed. The flavor wasn't bad, but the texture was rubbery. SOme have talked about the chips and salsa. Open a can of El Paso or any other store brand and you get the same idea. Watery, slightly spicey. Chips werer ok, but as for the glass of water-had to ask the bartender for it. WOuld not go backk , nor would I suggest it to anyone.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
