This is the best place around for sushi. By far my favorite in Palm Beach, I eat here whenever I crave sushi and I'm never disappointed. They have great sushi for a every reasonable price. My favorite rolls consists of Dragon Roll, Shrimp Deluxe, Lobster Roll, Mexican, and Birthday Roll. Their caramelized tofu, Calamari, and spicy Seafood are great appetizers. Small restaurant but food makes up where it lacks
(5)Michael W.
I just ate here this past weekend. It's some of the best sushi I've ever had and the service is exceptional. I highly recommend it. I've eaten here many times and have yet to be disappointed.
(4)Jayson J.
Food is very good, service is beyond horrible, they make up times when they want to allow you to get a take out order. I called and they said no and my wife walked in because she was pulling into the parking lot and they said sure what would you like to order. Recently I walked in at 8 pm to order take out on Thursday, I felt like sushi and I didn't want to eat at the location, I asked for a menu, one of the waitresses was about to take my order and then another waitress/manager says no we are too busy and laughs because I dare ask for a take out order. I am the fool that allowed myself to be treated this way one too many times, we eat at Yu-Mi maybe 10 to 15 times a year (we recently moved to North Palm and we were excited about being less than 5 mins away) and the service was always questionable but the sushi is very good. I have seen them treat other people this way and it's just upsetting. The problem is they have zero competition. If you are in North Palm this is the only Sushi place that I can think of. So, they can treat and do anything they want and make up silly rules as they go. The great thing is competition is finally here...hog snappers is coming to North Palm at the old Mondo's location on US 1....they have incredible food and service but they are Tequesta. I am sorry Yu-Mi my pervious rating was 4 star with questionable service but, after the last few horrible experiences I can't continue to spend money at this establishment. Time for some competition, the question will it improve the service?

Cheap is usually not a good word when associated with sushi but this place is phenomenal. Their lunch menu is obviously the best bang for your buck with three rolls at around $10 (roll combo of JB, California, and crunch. Served with miso soup and salad) but they do almost the same deal for dinner for $12. Be warned though, they're busy and not always fast and if it's too close to closing then they're not too shy to turn away business. Same goes for takeout, if they're too busy then they'll tell you no when you try to call in an order. Yes this place is the Soup Nazi of sushi but it's worth it.
(5)Barry G.
The best sushi in PBG! Small and crowded, but worth the wait. Our favorite is the crunch roll. Other top rolls are Bahama Mama and Tokyo Love Story!
(5)Kaitlyn A.
I love the food here. The Tokyo love story is my absolute fave!!!! The size of restaurant is very small but other than that it's great.
(5)Barry G.
Outstanding sushi! Friendly service! Usually crowded, but worth the wait. Our favorite rolls are: crunch roll and Bahama Mama!
(4)Michelle R.
Best Sushi! This is a must try. It is the freshest Sushi in the area and at the most reasonable prices. Everything is good...Chirashi, Crunch Roll, Rainbow Roll, Bahama Mama, Tokyo Love Story, Spicy Tuna, Eel Roll, Dynamite Roll, Bento Box....Amazing! I have never had a bad or even mediocre meal here. There is always a wait since the place is small so the staff can seem preoccupied but never rude.
(5)Erica B.
Service is completely awful but the sushi is good if they will serve you at all. The first time my husband and I sat at the sushi bar. I had the rainbow roll. The 2nd time I placed a to go order and was told I had to wait outside bc it was too crowded. Whatever. Tonight at 5:40 I wanted to get take out and was told they were too busy and I couldn't place an order. Last time here.
(2)Kristy R.
Food is excellent but customer service is horrible. If you have a party of 3, doesn't matter how many seats are empty.. They wait for that ONE table, that seats 3 to be available. You can't even sit at the table with 4 chairs. Lol. Ridiculous. And don't even bother calling for take out orders.. They're not consistent with their service. How are you going to pick and choose when you want to do take out orders????
(1)Rita L.
The best sushi place around. No doubts about it. I have been a regular for over 10 years now and these people have seen me grow up. The high quality has never diminished. I recommend the chirashi, which is very well priced compared to other places and is always fresh. If you're looking for a roll, the spider roll and Tokyo love story are always good (if you like the Tokyo love story roll and want a bigger portion, get the Mark's chirashi...it's the same thing just without the seaweed). The pork Katsu and shrimp tempura are always delicious as well. Yes, they are very strict about their seating rules and can be a bit abrasive about it, but they do it to be fair to everyone. It's a tiny place, they need to turn over tables as quickly as possible.
(5)Steve P.
Have to give a heads up on Yu Mi. A long favorite of mine for over 10 years. Sometimes going 2-3 times a week. Tonight, my party of three got passed up once for a party of 4 and a party of 2 that came 15-20minutes after we had been waiting. The hostess told me that she could not sit a party of three at a table for four and that the table for two was too small for 3. I was angry and called in so as not to make a scene. I voiced my displeasure at being passed up not once but twice. She said her boss' would kill her if she sits three at a table for four. I explained that after more rhan 10 years and having sent a multitude of friends in and having spent literally thousands of dollars on dinners there, that I could no longer support their restaurant and their random seating policy. I urged her to share our conversation with her boss. I will make sure everyone I know, to beware this idiotic policy and disregard for loyal patrons and fans of their food.
(1)Adam B.
The food here is top notch. It is simply the best in our area. Everything is always extremely fresh and flavorful. Their sushi selection is diverse and creative. I recommend the Tokyo Love Story roll. The age tofu is the best version we have had anywhere outside of Atlanta. My family has always had great service here. The location is very small and seating is very limited so they do not take reservations (if they did you'd never get in because it would always be booked). They insist your whole eating party is present before they seat you. It's understandable when the food is so good. Always worth the wait. I have never yet been disappointed with this place.
(5)Jody B.
Best value sushi in Palm Beach Gardens! If you are just looking for good sushi at a good price with out all the extra fluff this is a great option. I wouldn't go when in a rush because the restaurant is small and service can be a little slow because they stay busy.
(4)Daphne L.
I arrived there right as there were opening on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm. We were seated promptly. The place started to fill up as we sat there for awhile. I ordered the regular tuna roll and the shrimp tempura (rookie) roll. My friend ordered the sushi combo that came with two tuna Nigiri, two salmon, one eel, one shrimp, two escolar. His came with a side salad and miso soup. I ordered a side ginger salad. The soup and salad was good. The ginger dressing was really good. The sushi was decent. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had. anything. I think they could have more variety on their menu. The tables are really close to each other so you hear everyone else's conversations if there are people sitting next to you. The prices are what you'd expect from most sushi places...
(3)Maria K.
Omg, awesome sashimi combo and their crunch roll was unfu@@ing believable!! Holy moly batman... it was soo damn good...the fish was soo fresh and tasty.. staff was so polite. . Prices were very reasonable. Totally happy and satisfied customer.
(5)Traci P.
As a local that goes to this joint once a week & love it, was VERY VERY disappointed that after a year of getting take out they decided tonight they couldn't do it. Who does not do take out deliveries? Even asked if I came in person if they could do take out & was denied. Called back to c if they had a table open & they said yes, but won't do take out. As much as I like the food, I'm done with this establishment. We spend $40.00 a week on food & tip well but we are now done with this place. I'll go to community & military trail Yumi for better service
(1)Mark K.
Great sushi and service! Try the Tokyo Love Story!!! Been coming here for years and they never disappoint.
(5)Jake z.
The only Asian food I'll eat in s florida
(5)Mr. P.
This place is on my regular rotation. Consistently good. Very fair prices. Always fresh. The rolls are delicious. I'm sure that plenty of folks complain about the sometimes surly waitstaff or the few number if tables, but there's no bad intent. They run a clean operation and I'm happy to continue coming back.
(4)Leslie B.
I'm always looking for good sushi in the area and Yu-Mi is my new favorite. It's a really small restaurant and the sushi took a while to come out, so I would recommend going at an off-hour. We were lucky to score a table for 2 around 7:00 on a Friday. They have a very large menu that is incredibly affordable. The boyfriend and I put in a order of a few rolls and waited. And waited. My only complaint about Yu-Mi is how long our sushi took, but it's a small restaurant so I'll cut them some slack. My boyfriend decided for our next round that he wanted to try the really spicy roll made with wasabi oil because he loves spicy things (especially wasabi). Our waitress warned him, but he insisted on ordering it. He loved a couple pieces, but even for him, it was too much. I ate a piece, almost died. So unpleasant. Anyway, just be warned if you go for that roll! Overall, great experience as we were able to be seated right away, the sushi was fresh and delicious, and the prices were great (especially for Palm Beach Gardens)!
(4)Lorell P.
I can understand the complaints of the long waits and inconsistent service. But the price and quality of Yumi Sushi is the reason why this place gets packed regularly (asides the tiny real estate). I've enjoyed every roll I've had here from Mexican, Birthday, Angel Hair to Dragon Roll. You can't go wrong. The unagi don and tempura are always excellent. My rating is based on Food Quality and Price Match which to me are my top 2 restaurant characteristics. Had I encompassed service and wait time I probably would give it closer to 4 stars but since right now the overall rating is at 3.5 stars, this place deserves better, as this sushi place in palm beach is really one of the better tasting ones.
(5)Preeti K.
Service is slow and the wait staff is not very friendly. No vegetarian lunch specials so my lunch date had to order off the dinner menu, they wouldn't let her add miso soup which was odd. We were ready to walk out after a frustrating convo with the waitress but surprisingly the food was very good! Unfortunately no one checked up on us or refilled our waters. That being said the food was good enough that we will definitely visit again but with lower expectations of what to expect from the wait staff.
(4)Johnny D.
Place is a hole in the wall along the shopping strip edge. Interior is nondescript but holy moly you need to sit down and try the lunch specials. $9-$12 gets you salad soup and entree. I did the chirashi bowl and was suprised with a rather large serving of fresh assorted sashimi. Woulda been nice to get some ikura on top but for the price it was amazing. You'd pay $22-30 for this set up in Miami.
(5)Karen J.
Went for lunch. Atmosphere was good, quiet, clean, excellent service. A little disappointed the green tea I ordered was served as a tea bag in hot water. The sushi and sashimi was freshly prepared by the chefs who took care in handling the food and washed hands frequently. Eat the caliente roll, I usually stick with raw fish but since the whole roll is fried this one is cooked.

My BF & I have gone here twice now and I'm pretty surprised at the reviews that are on here. We tried this place cause a friend had suggested the place to us (he also considers himself a foodie), so we went for it. The place is, like other reviewers had said, pretty small. I would say it could comfortably fit up to a group of 4. I feel like Yu-Mi is more of a small, intimate place to eat cause of the size. We went both times on a weekend night. The 1st time we had to wait around 20 mins and the 2nd time we got sat at the bar, which I preferred to the table seating. You are much higher and you are next to the person you're talking to rather than across the table. I had no problem with having a conversation with my BF, but I do agree I could hear other people's conversations. It's not hard to eavesdrop given the space that everyone is in. The staff treated us really well. Each time they were courteous and polite. Greeted us as we came in and left. Got our order in on time. I don't really mind a wait on sushi because I know it does take some time to create each roll. Ok, now onto the food part. The ginger salad was good - I'm obsessed with the orange dressing so if restaurants have em - they have my like! The rolls we ordered we the Barney Roll, Yu-Mi Roll, and the Tokyo Love Roll. My BF is obsessed with the Barney Roll cause it's fried and has a nice crunch to it. I really enjoyed the Tokyo Love Roll, the baked scallop was so delicious and really tied well with the tuna and salmon. The Yu-Mi roll was good, but I would try something else tho, it wasn't really my cup of tea. My experience was great at this restaurant and would go back - my BF also loves this place. So I predict more visits in the future.

They were my favorite places to get sushi, but never again. Why? Simple... no loyalty to customers. My 4 year old son finished his first week of school and since he loves sushi that's what he requested to celebrate. I waited until 5:15 (as they don't re-open until 5) and called to place a takeout order. "No, no takeout for you. Dine in only!" Said the frazzled voice on the other end. "You no longer offer takeout?" I asked. "No, to many order since 5:00 we take no more. You sit and eat." "To many orders in 15min?" I replied. She went on to say they are to busy for takeout... simple logic implies ordering my food by phone or at a table it still has to be made just the same. I said," I understand you're busy, so I expect a long wait for my takeout. If it takes an hour or two so be it." "No!" She snapped back, "You sit here or no food." "So you don't care if you lose my business even though I could sit there and order my food to go and it would be the same difference?" On that, she hung up on me. Glad their busy. Glad to wait for a good product, I will not however tolerate rudeness and poor customer service. I know I will never give them another dime. If they continue they can go the way of so many other sushi joints and close down. It's a shame. Let me know if they ever get new ownership.

I have one word. Overrated. I checked out the reviews and was stoked to try this place out as it is very close to my home. I had some friends that said wed night is a good time to go. We get there and there is a wait... ok, we will just get a beer from the liquor store and hang out. The women at the front was abrupt about the wait, but I figured that perhaps she is from a part of Japan where the people are not that friendly(odd as most authentic japanese sushi establishments are over the top friendly,'Thank You, Thanks You, etc' I have not been to Japan, but I have been to MANY top notch sushi establishments and I am always pleased with just how nice they are) Ok, back to this night. Were are not told how long its going to be, just wait outside and we will be called. 30min, 45min, 1hr, 1 1/2 pass, no call. Half of our party has to leave . I was not going to go because I assumed that I must be in for the BEST sushi I have EVER had. My hunger pains were strong, but my desire to find out why the hell people are waiting this long was stronger. Ok, we get to sit down, I order the chirashi, It is one of my favorites! I used to eat it 4 times a week at a Very Busy sushi place in California, I know mercury poising, right?! Any who I never had a problem with the staff helping me by tossing my chirishi(get your mind out of the gutter) for me. I like it with the siracha sauce and its too messy to try and toss it at the table. Can the waitress do this for me? no. Ok, so this place is not good on service, this much is obvious, But how about the sushi. So, the fish tasted pretty fresh. I did have a piece of salmon that tasted a bit fishy(a major no/no when preparing sushi), but overall I was able to eat it. I certainly was not going to complain as it seemed that the staff could care less about your experience and are Mostly focused on how quickly they can turn the tables over. I eat sushi A lot and so, I had to give it a second go. Well, lets make that, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th go. It so close to my new home, I wanted to like it so badly! But alas, the further attempts proved to be a disappointment. Also, my attempt for take out on a couple of occasions was answered with a sharp, 'We are just too busy for take out'. Hmm, how fing time consuming is it to cut a couple of pieces of fish and put it on top of some rice. Apparently too much to ask. So, if you don't mind waiting for sushi that is not really that good, I recommend this place.
(1)Alex S.
This place is the size of my closet and is always packed (a good sign though!). He food is amazing! It's in a shopping center and totally not what you'd think. We are staying close to a Benihana on Hutchinson Island and drove an hour to come here! Oh and it's cheap... Super cheap
(5)Heather C.
There used to me a Yu-Mi in west Palm off military, but I'm not sure if these are the same owners. the lobster roll??? DIE. I DIE. Orgasmic. The decor and atmosphere is blah but the rolls are worth ordering them to go if you desire to impress a hot date. :)
(3)Alli K.
Unagi-don: barbequed eel on a bed of hot rice. The eel was well-done and the eel sauce lightly applied- leaving a crispy fish with little flavor. Although I am a big fan of eel sauce- this eel was still sufficient to bring the dish together.
(3)Karina P.
Best sushi in palm beach county! the CRUNCH ROLL is simply amazing. The ladies that work there are also super friendly. The food is always great and worth the wait time (normally its always packed so plan on waiting a while to be seated.) The only bad thing about the restaurant is that its the smallest restaurant i have ever been to. Its super small but the food is AWESOME!
(5)Renee V.
Yu-Mi is my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant. My boyfriend and I are very frequent with our visits here. I almost always order Chicken Katsu, which comes with Miso and Salad, and then rice and sautéed vegetables. Always outstanding. I also love the steak teriyaki! I'm not a seafood person, but I love sitting at the bar watching the sushi chefs. The waitresses are amazing, such lovely ladies! I wish all waitress's were as welcoming as them. They know our order whenever we walk in. They also gave us a free bottle of sake on New Year's Eve! They are a very small cafe, so there isn't much seating at night time, often a short wait but DEFINITELY worth it. I would give this 6 stars if possible. Love you guys!!
(5)Daniel M.
They do make great rolls there but that's where it stops. The seating is ridiculously cramped. There is a 4X4 hostess area that everybody cramps into wanting to find out about seating. So people who are waiting stand over you and watch you eat. When you do get a table it's very awkward to be seated right in the face of strangers. With the business that place does they could easily afford to move to a more accommodating space. We have had average to bad service there and we have also been treated extremely rudely there. I'm far from oversensitive too. Last time in, after jockeying with the short waitress for no reason other than her making about four rude assumptions, we sat down at a table, looked at each other with complete dismay, got up, walked out. We were very quiet about it but the place is so tiny that it felt like we were making a scene when all we did was walk out. We stopped going there years ago because of the exact same thing a commenter above said, the waitress basically demanded a better tip. I put a fat tip in the sushi bar vase and an appropriate tip in the check jacket. ( I'm supposed to double tip at a place that provides highly suspect service?) The Korean waitress literally stuck it right in my face with a scowl. Unbelievable. That was years ago. Only went back the other night on a whim. Huge mistake. Bottom line: I'll go get a bag of chips at CVS next door before I'll ever step foot in that RUDE establishment with it's awkward sardine seating. The Koreans that run that place are as uninviting as you will find anywhere.
(2)Jolie W.
Amazing sushi!!! Probably the best I've had and I eat a lot of sushi! Loved the crunch roll, yu-mi and Japanese love story!!! The vegetable roll and California sunshine was excellent too. The gyoza and salad were ok-got them because other reviews recommended them, but they were just ok. The teriyaki steak roll was awesome too. The servers and staff were not ubber friendly, but became nicer when they noticed we were on yelp! Too funny! We spent $64 on our meal for 4(no alcohol) and it we were stuffed! I'd definitely go back!!!
(4)Robin N.
The food is good but HORRIBLE service, especially for Asians. I'm Asian and when I go in there, they don't even care. But when an American walked in, they were very nice. This is really rude and it doesn't even make sense. I fell in love with this place since a few years ago when I first tried it. They are honestly unappreciative of a long time customer. They don't even take take-out orders that is more than 2 bento boxes. That is my last experience with them. I'm never going to go back to a rude restaurant ever again.
(1)Matt R.
Fantastic lunch deal and great sushi. Great ginger dressing on the salad, decent miso soup and the spicy combo rocks!! Most other sushi places in northern Virginia use a spicy mayo but this place had great tuna and used a spicy chili oil/sauce. Light years better. The caliente roll was melt in your mouth good but of course what's fried and NOT good. Not too spicy with the jalapeños and not too creamy with the cream cheese. Extremely surprised at this place for $9!!
(5)Paul S.
Let's preface this by saying I'm from san Francisco and have made sushi professionally in the past. This is a good spot. Fish tastes fresh and their rolls are clever and tasty. We had a few different rolls and they were all good. I tried one with conch in it and that was the only thing I didn't care for. Keep in mind that they specialize in American style sushi, but I'm American and so are u most likely so it works. Now the price. Wow. 3 of us ate til bursting and it was 50 bucks. In san Fran that would have been 60 or 70. The down side from what I've heard is the place fills up fast and the tables are tiny. But unless the service sucks those negatives don't outweigh the positives.
(4)Nic B.
It is all about the Wednesday Ladies Night. Keep in mind, women flock to this place like the Mecca. Rolls are $5 and that's okay with me. My personal favorites are the Tokyo Lovestory and the Crunch Roll. You may get looks for laughing too loud, you may even be asked to leave, but in the end...the sushi is worth all the awkward, the crowds, and the wait. Fantastic. Best sushi of my life and better than anything I've ever had in Manhattan. Yumi, why are you so filled with magic?
(5)Christine J.
Let me start off by saying that I am thoroughly impressed by the freshness of this sushi. Here is what we had when we went: Pan fried Gyoza-I would have to give this a 4 star rating. A litte crispier than I like. Very flavorful though and excellent tangy sauce! Sunomono- delicious dish with crab, shrimp, octopus and conch. This also receives a 4 star rating. In my opinion would have been nice to have more than one shrimp and more than one crab stick. Plenty of octopus and conch slices. Lots of cucumber and flavorful, vinegary sauce. Excellent! Salmon sashimi- I received 8 decent size pieces with one order. Very very fresh and delicious. Shrimp tempura deluxe roll- simple but amazing flavor! Nice rice to shrimp ratio. A little on the smaller side but delicious!! *AMAZING* Scorpion roll- deep fried soft shell crab and a spicy wasabi sauce with avocado! YUM!!! My absolute favorite! Must try! Rock and Roll- delicious salmon and avocado! With tuna and avocado outside! Awesome! Very fresh! We had 2 shrimp tempura deluxe and one of everything else and our bill was around $60.00. About what you would expect to pay for sushi especially in palm beach. Well worth it! Service was attentive and very friendly. Hostess even asked if we liked everything and were happy! So friendly and made you feel right at home. Definitely will be back! Great little sushi gem here in palm beach! Go check it out!!!!!!!
(5)Ting W.
I love chirashi! So I wanted to try the Ikura chirashi which was a mixture of different roes served on a sushi bed of rice. My friend got the Micheal's chirashi bowl which was backed konch with a mixture of spicy mayo and sliced raw tuna served on top a bed of rice. The orders came with miso soup and salad. It was okay. I wasn't a fan of the Ikura one, but loved the Micheal's baked mixture on top. The place is very small and portions of the chirashi was small. Lunch service was a bit slow so I'll go back again to give it another try.

Been here a few times. Cheap, average Korean sushi joint. Too many rolls with cream cheese. Service is usually awful though. Would be two or three stars, but after my last lunch there, a waitress actually demanded a better tip. I find that attitude ridiculous. For something more authentic, try Ebisu over on PGA instead!
(1)Vanessa P.
If my memory serves me correctly, this was the first restaurant that helped introduce me to sushi. Granted, my first dish here was a crunchy roll (baby steps people!) but my co-worker's suggestion was a great one. Every other time after proved this place to be a great sushi joint located smack dab in the middle of a shopping plaza. Food was always fresh and service was pleasant. Just an FYI - place is super tiny so head out of the office 10 minutes early to get a table for lunch, otherwise you're likely to be stuck waiting a good 30 minutes.
(4)Gedan L.
Best sushi I've eaten hands down!!!, however take out is horrible some days they do some days they don't, when ever they feel like it pretty much
(2)Tom S.
I have been a loyal customer for at Yu-Mi the past 3-4 years, they always have best quality Sushi. I am not sure why I am writing a review for it, as if I call after six on a friday night I cant even get take out, because they are too busy. Highlights for me are the Vegtable Udon, Promenade Roll, and Snow White roll. Please go and enjoy, but friday is my night, so dont order then. OK?
(5)Joann H.
Don't let the size of the restaurant fool you because it certainly does not reflect the quality and tastiness of their rolls. This quaint little place is always packed and there's no doubt why. Once you sink your teeth into one of their signature rolls, any other sushi roll you've had in your life will simply just blur into insignificance. Wednesdays is Ladies' Night and their signature rolls are half off and they also have $1 dollar sakes and $2 dollar glasses of wine. Sorry fellas, but this special is only for the ladies. I highly recommend their Angel Hair Roll, Tokyo Love Story Roll, Dancing Eel Roll, and Yu-Mi Roll. Those are just some of my personal favorites although I'm sure all of their rolls are equally as delicious. The only reason why I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of their constant wait. There's only one bench outside and it's usually fully occupied so standing under the sweltering sun for sometimes an hour to even 2 hours brings it down a notch. Try to arrive early and try not to come with a large party. You'll get in a lot quicker that way.
(4)Ryan D.
Best sushi around, great prices, and great staff! Highly recommend!
(5)The Baja M.
I've had enough of the people who own/work here. They are rude and make no effort at all to accommodate customers. Good food but bad business. Basically these people are a pain in the ass.
(1)Tina A.
For all you ladies out there that like Sushi, Wednesday's at Yu-Mi are a must!!! I dragged my mom out for some mother daughter bonding and treated her to some of the best Sushi I've ever had. Word of advise: Sit up at the Sushi bar because if you do and the guys like you they'll let you try a free roll!! I don't know if thats customary or if we were just special but it was awesome. The actual Ladies night is $5 rolls. If you order something plain like a California Roll thats normally $3.95 that stays the same but my favorite the Dynamite Roll that has baked conch on top of a crab roll is normally $9 but on ladies night is $5. They're pretty reasonable every night but why pay more if you don't have too. The size of the restaurant is the only reason why this place didn't get 5 stars. They can only fit like 20 people in there so you ALWAYS wait a long time on Wednesdays. The bonus to waiting tho is that there is a liquor store right next door that you can buy a mini split bottle of wine or a beer and have a drink while you wait.
(4)Jay N.
The sushi is fresh and the service is friendly. It is affordable and has a good variety of Japanese food besides the sushi and rolls. The reasons why I take off a star is because there is way too many rolls which include cream cheese, and the wait for food after order can be very long. I guess I can ask for the rolls minus the cheese if I wanted but the order to delivery time needs work. It does not affect my decision to go there anyway but it definitely costs a star.

The best sushi in Palm Beach County. Hands down. My girlfriend and I have been going there for years. The fish is delicious and always fresh. The rolls are creative and very tasty. We especially love the tokyo love story roll, hooter roll, and 207 roll. The restaurant recently revised the menu and there's plenty of new rolls - we can't wait to try them all. A word of warning though - go BEFORE you're hungry. The wait can be very long for dinner. Also - they have great deals on Wednesdays (ladies night), but the wait is ridiculous. Don't waste your time. Go back on a different night, save time and shell out a few more bucks.

Not only does Yu-mi offer some of the freshest and unique sushi in the area, but its prices are exceptionally fair. Takeout from Yu-mi is the local secret, and not a well kept one, since sometime takeout orders take one to one and a half hours to prepare. The Crunch Roll and the Rock & Roll are two of my favorites at Yu-mi, as well as their Chirashi. Wednesday nights are ladies nights, with sushi and drink deals, but show up early because it will be packed. Weekend nights are also very crowded in this tiny eatery, but if you want to best sushi for your buck, Yu-mi is the place to be!

I'm hesitant to give a good review because selfishly I don't want the wait to be longer. Everything always is super fresh and tasty. The sushi rice is excellent and it does not overwhelm the rolls. The prices are extremely reasonable. We go there often and always have found the wait staff pleasant and attentive. The only thing I can see some people may feel is a drawback is the ambiance -- its quaintly simple. Its also very small -- I think maybe it seats about 30 people including the bar. If your party is more than 4 (and there's only a few tables for 4 people), you should probably look for another place to dine.

Great sushi - hands down. Very creative and delicious rolls - try the French Connection Roll - fancy french fries and sushi rolled into one! Just added more seating so the wait time has shortened but be prepared for a crowd on Wednesdays.

Loved the place! Good food, friendly service. It is small, was a 40 minute wait to get a table, but it was worth it. Prices were good too, will definitely be back. And that hurricane roll, yeah that was spicy, but good. Also try the dynamite roll, not spicy, but very tasty!

This cute little spot came highly recommended to me by a friend in the area. She explained that we needed to meet for an early lunch because the place really fills up. I reluctantly met her for lunch at 11:30 am on a weekday, and quickly understood why. We grabbed a seat at the cozy sushi bar and in minutes the place started filling up. Upon my friend's rave review, I ordered the Angel Hair roll and it definitely lived up to her hype. While I've tried other rolls and items on the menu, I almost always order this one and highly recommend it for those like myself that don't eat raw fish. Be mindful that I'm not exaggerating when I say this place is tiny. If you're going for lunch, head there a little before noon and know there will be a 20 minute wait most nights for dinner if you show up past 7pm.

I am a die hard Sushi fan. The ambiance is OK, nothing fancy like you would see in South Beach but the sushi does justice. It's the best sushi in the area for sure. The sushi is always fresh as they have constant clientele. Very good. SOLID 4 stars. Wish they had a full bar but that's about it!

The sushi at Yu-Mi was very disappointing. Not only was the fish not fresh, but the rice was poorly executed as well. The straw that broke my back, however, was the Hurricane Roll. I was forewarned, but its piquance was so extreme that I had to drown my mouth in two glasses of ice water before I could breathe normally. I am not a wimp when it comes to spicy food - I love "heat" as a matter of fact. This experience, though, was just silly. I really question the motivation behind a restaurant's attempt to recreate "Man vs. Food" in an everyday setting. Perhaps Yu-Mi is trying to divert attention from its less-than-magnificent fish?

I love this place. the food has always been good and the prices are reasonable. but on friday night. my husband and I were very disappointed in the wait . the place is very small and when I walked in it was half empty 11 seats were open and they said it would be 20 minute wait. 45 minutes later I ask them what was going on they said the cook was overwhelmed and said not to seat anybody. you couldnt even get a drink. very annoying and not a way to run a business.

This place is *tiny* and fills ups fast! We arrived around 11:45am on a weekday and managed to get one of the last tables. Shortly thereafter, I heard them announce the wait was 45 minutes! This is unheard of for the time at other restaurants in this area. The food and price was good, so it's no surprise this place is popular with the locals.

Ok for West Palm, but mediocre for somebody who really likes sushi
