The service was great. This is the best thing about the place. We ordered steak and shrimp and fried grouper. The steak was nothing special. We could have received the same quality steak at Ponderosa. The grouper had so much breaking I thought I was at Captain D's. As stated earlier, the service was great. I cannot see us going back here again.

If you like eating bad, cheap cuts of steak using silverware that feels plastic - you'll love this place. The quality of the cut of meat on my ribeye was poor - I would have complained in a grocery store, let alone a steakhouse. The "silverware" MUST have been the original since day one - that's a genuine observation, not a harsh criticism. The amount they charge for such poor food is really annoying. The decor is as outdated as the silverware - they must be making some profits, so why not reinvest back into the business? I would not go back, but I might recommend this place to people I dislike.

Wonderful food. Good service. You will not be disappointed! Large and no wait time tonight.

There are no guises with Angelo's. It's a very large place with big crowds they move pretty quickly. It's your basic salad, steak, and baked potato place. That said, the steak has good flavor and the service is solid. This is not fine dining. It is an older local steakhouse with good family food.

It's hard to miss Angelo's because of the humongous steer in front of the restaurant. You better get there early or expect a long wait. The restaurant is huge and decorated with western and ranch attire. Also, be prepared to spend some money too. I have ate at Angelo's several times. It is a steakhouse with several different cuts. This time, I had a rib-eye cooked medium and weighed 13 oz. The steak was very good and has its own special seasoning to it. Angelo's also has its own Vidalia Onion Steak Sauce which is amazing! Garlic toast is served with each meal and even though it looks like it had been toasted to death...it is surprisingly barely crispy and buttery. Each meal comes with baked potato, fries, green beans or vegetables and salad. I recommend the baked potato over the fries. As much as you pay at Angelo's, it seems like they would do more to the salad besides lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. The salad dressings seem to be homemade especially the house dressing which is a Greek vinegarette...very tangy and worth it. As a sweet tea lover, I have to warn you to avoid sweet tea here at all cost. It tastes like instant tea : (. If you are looking for a good steak and potato, Angelo's is a great place for that. I like it and it's definitely worth going to... but you might end up being happier with Outback or Longhorn...especially with the cost and variety.

This was my first visit and with a party of 5. I was expecting to have to wait but we didn't and it was during prime time. My favorite was the dirty martini. It was perfect! The steak was cooked perfect and extremely tender. I'm not a fan of "smoky" meat but I will say this was pretty good. We had a blast and the waitress was great. It was a little pricy but worth it.

Best place to eat in pcb! The steaks are amazing! My husband got his steak well done and he could still cut it with his fork! There are no uncharges for splitting either! All the times I have ever been there to wait has not been longer than 15 mins. Love it'

The only thing good about this restaurant is the flavor of their steak. You can't beat a hickory flavored steak. The downfall to the steak was both mine and my husband's were overdone. Considering we paid 27 and 23 for our meals they shouldve been cooked to our Temps we asked for. I had filet and shrimp, the shrimp was fresh but it tasted like captain d's breading. The salad was mostly just lettuce and the ranch was not good. There are not many apps that sounded good. We ordered the angel pie which is an apple pie with cheese sugar and cinnamon on top. It would've been good if it was fresh. It tasted like it was frozen then heated in the microwave and not even til it was hot. The service was mediocre at best. Will not be back.

Great steak flavor, friendly family environment. Most tender ribeye steak you could enjoy.

Super-long wait (hours!) for a little above average steaks. My filet was butterflied and a little over-cooked, but tasty nonetheless. Once my party was seated, service was cheerful and very attentive. I would return, but would not wait more than about an hour.

    (3)
  • Kristie T.

Been here two different years now and the wait is outrageous and the place is so old looking, but it is worth it! The steak is out of this world, people. I'm not even exaggerating. The potatoes are great and the salads too, but not as memorable as the steaks. The key is to go early for dinner so the wait isn't as bad. You must try it though if you never have. I craved it for a year before we went back recently.

The place is huge and they do a big turnaround. It's has great staff. The food was very good, perfectly cook steak and great flavor. If you are in area you have to stop here for a great meal.

Love this place. Our server Renae was awesome. My wife steak was over cooked so the manager came out with a new one and asked her to cut in to it to make sure it was to my satisfaction !! Mine was perfect! It was the best steak ever!! 5 star in our book!!

This was my pick for fathers day. I love this steak house. My father took me here when I was a kid and I always take my girls when we are in PC. From Dallas to Kansas City to Cullmun, Al to PCB, Angelo's ranks among the best steak house I have visited.

This is our fav place in PCB. They have very good steaks and the smoked chicken is good as well. The whole family loves to go here.

The smell that you smell when you are outside is what your steak will taste like. If you don't like that, then don't go. Was very disappointed with our visit. The menu is basic with nothing special but the price was extreme. Will NEVER go back!

  • Amy L.

Best steak I've ever put in my mouth. If you drive within 50 miles of this restaurant then GO HERE. You won't regret it. There is always a crowd of people of there but don't worry the wait is never long and it's worth waiting 10-15 mins. Highly recommend!!!!

Last night based on yelp reviews, we went to Angelo's. Nothing special. The steak had good flovor, but had a lot of gristle! Very hard to chew! Too bad, cause I was really hungry for good steak! Guess it will have to wait until we barbecue our own back home!

  • Brandon S.

Heard about how great this place was by many and for the most part it did not disappoint. In had the T-bone medium rare and it was cooked really nicely and although the steak was not the most tender I have had the flavor made up for it. The onion rings were fantastic and should be ordered. I had a salad with blue cheese and it was terrible. I would suggest ranch over the blue cheese.

Angelo's Steak Pit Their standards have fallen I've been going to Angelo's Steak Pit for over 15 years and I usually receive a great meal with great service but on Sunday night, 08/31, it was the worst meal ever. It started with a 45 minute wait for a party of six; we were taken to a four person table with 6 chairs, a very tight fit. Our order was taken and drinks were delivered as expected. All of the food brought to the table was prepared incorrectly. For some reason the chef butterflied my filet and when asked, the waiter replied" they always butterfly the filet"; I know that is an out-and out lie. Over thirty Angelo's filets have been eaten by people in my party and none were butterflied. The ribs were dry almost to the point of being burnt and the chicken was also dry, not overcooked but old. Normally the mushrooms are fantastic but on Sunday they were incredibly salty. On top of all of that, they screwed up the bill and overcharged me. For all of this I have placed them on a one year suspension and I ask everyone that reads this to be aware of the crap they will sometime serve. Send it back and/or don't pay for it.

Here in Panama with the family for spring break and the smell is what brought us here. Smoky BBQ goodness. It was DELICIOUS! Our waitress was Nicki and she was great and very attentive. We arrived before closing so we didn't have to wait. The steaks were seasoned to PERFECTION. Definitely worth a revisit.

  • John P.

We should have listened to the reviews. This place is ok at best. It is huge and holds a lot of people. Get the crab fingers for an appetizer. They are great. The steaks not so much. I ordered the T bone and it was fatty and chewy. They do use a lot of smoke flavor. The ribeye was better but not by much. If you are looking for a prime cut of beef this is not the place. It is a little over priced. Service was ok. My recommendation is try another place.

    (2)
  • Casey W.

This place has hands-down the very best steak I have ever had in my life. Absolutely without peer. In the past I have avoided this place thinking it was a tourist trap - no way. Worth every penny, food is perfection, a must visit anytime we go to the beach.

    (5)
  • Steve V.

Food was great. We stopped because of yelp ratings. Needed a break from seafood. The wait was about a half hour for party of five. Large comfortable waiting area. Wife ordered the 1/2 chicken and I ordered a ribeye. Chicken was perfect. Ribeye was an okay cut but very little marbling. Flavor was tremendous from the grill. Steak was very moist and tender. Kids portions are very expensive but big enough to share. Only downfall is the building is very dated and in need of an update. The premise is clean and cared for but stuck in the 70s. We will be back for the great food and pleasant service.

  • Joann L.

Thought this was going to be phenomenal but it was ok at best. The hostess clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes when I asked for a table instead of a booth. Annoyed? She sure was! The onion rings were out of this world. My steak was cooked right but my husband's was a little on the very rare side. My only other comment is that they did not have real butter. Really? Margarine spread, cold in the packet? I've had better at a national steakhouse.

If you're looking to take a break from all the seafood in and around PCB, then you should definitely consider Angelo's Steak Pit. Their NY Strip and Filet Mignon are some of the best cuts I've ever tasted. Very tender and cooked just right. Just know that the steaks at Angelo's aren't smothered in spices like Outback and Longhorns. Some may view this as a negative, but I believe this allows you to experience the authenticity of the meat instead of the overpowering spice that you get at the other establishments. Service has always been a high point as well. Our server, Ellen, was excellent. She tended to our every need in a timely manner. Speed of service is pretty good, considering how fast this place fills up. My party got to the restaurant about 30 minutes before they open (4pm local time) and there was already a crowd gathering in the waiting area. By the time we received our salads, which was about 20 minutes after being seated, the place was filled with patrons. If you arrive around 6 or 7 pm expect a somewhat lengthy wait. We received our food in a timely manner given the sudden influx of customers ordering at pretty much the same time. All in all, this is the best steak house you will find in Panama City Beach. The wait may be a little long and the food a bit pricey (then again, what place down here isn't like that?), but what you get in return is top-notch service and some of the best steaks you will find not only on the Emerald Coast, but anywhere.

Do not go to Panama City Beach Florida without going to Angelo's Steak House for dinner. This place was amazing with amazing prices. I could not believe the low cost for such an exceptional meal, my ribeye melted in my mouth. Great job Angelo team you guys rock. May God Bless you

Love some Angelos and have to visit here on every trip to PCB. Steaks are tender and have a good taste (Cooked medium-well). Sides are hearty and filling. If you like the beach but not a fan of seafood, this is your place to go.

  • James S.

Food was good. Just be warned the steaks have a smoked flavor to them which I really don't care for. Baked tater and steamed veggies were great. We sat at the bar and got great service from Mark. Nice break from seafood.

It just wasn't for us. Salad was pretty plain. BBQ sauce tasted like warm ketchup/tomato sauce. Had the T-bone. Nothing to write home about.

i opted for clam chowder, watery and fishy smelling. it actually tasted good but was far from fresh. my next mistake was a shrimp cocktail. what a bland, flavorless dish. the 'rib eye steak' was a cut of prime rib sitting in a pan all day in sauce. it looked exactly like prime rib. manager showed me the line/prep fridge when i questioned the authenticity if their steaks. all were cut and stacked in a large pan, my girlfriend said it tasted good regardless of prep. ive had better meals at chain restaurants with microwaved food. paper place settings, paper napkins, bread only served once dinner arrives, small iceberg salads. im embarrassed to say i spent the time in wait to eat there. go somewhere else or waste ridiculous money on a knock off steak house. i quote the manager, 'i wouldnt suggest any of our seafood'. what?

Ate here during the last summer season. Overrated steak pit. They add butter while grilling their steaks which is an interesting way to keep things moist BUT problem is that their steaks are in my opinion pretty low quality. I live in Scottsdale and you can say that I am a steak snob. I had a rib eye, my favorite cut. Usually these cuts have a ton of fat which means extra flavors. With extra butter, I thought each bite would have a ton of flavors. However, needless to say, I was very disappointed. It lacks flavor and was not cooked correctly (meaning not enough heat) such that it had way too much undercooked fat (I prefer medium rare plus). I don't know how they age their beef. Felt like I was paying for premium cut but eating a select. I would not recommend this place. Unfriendly staff didn't help either.

get ready to spend at least $100 for two people. crab fingers were great, but the over trimmed and over cooked ribeye was just plain sad. ordered med-rare, received med/med-well. poor little fella was listed at 13oz but was closer to 9oz. take a tip from a steak lover, go to longhorns and get the 20oz outlaw and see how a real, living, steakhouse grills em up. staff- 5/10 decor- 3/10 baked potato- potato/10

Steak was great. Didn't add any seasoning. Waiters name was Chris who dislikes rednecks. Actually the food is superb. The steak is marinated for a week and very tender. Waiters name was Chris who dislikes rednecks. So if you are a redneck don't get Chris.

You have to go here. If you're going to Panama City Beach and you are a steak lover you have to eat dinner here. The filet will melt in your mouth, and you can cut it with a fork. I have been eating at this restaurant since I was a child over 50 years. The building is showing it's age but it will still be one of the best meals you will eat.

    (5)
  • Caleb D.

The food was pretty good, but expect to wait a long time for it. The service was awful but I'm not sure I can really blame them because it was a madhouse. The parking lot is so large a golf cart comes and picks you up. Overall it was an okay experience.

  • Cindee D.

Everyone liked their steaks but the french fries were some of the best I've ever tasted. The salad was good. Desserts a bit skimpy in size. The steaks are smoked on hickory so it is different. Huge restaurant. Very busy so go early if you don't want to wait. We ate earlier in week at Longhorn Steak and it was a slightly better meal and the steaks were a couple of dollars cheaper. We enjoyed meal but probably won't go back.

My wife and in-laws love Angelos. It is a mandatory stop on every trip to PCB. For me, it's just OK. The prices (like many places in PCB) are high for what it is.1/4 chicken is just under $20.On the latest visit, I had the ribeye which is my usual. Didn't seem like the greatest cut and was a little tougher than expected. My wife had the chicken. Both items were good, but not great and don't seem to justify the pricing. If I could give a tip, it would be to buy their seasoning that they sell in the gift shop. It does make for some really good burgers at steaks cooked at home.

Lack luster food and an aged and dirty building are all that are left of a once great steak house.

  • Samantha K.

Delicious, delicious! Stopped here because one of my sister's girlfriends recommended it. Although it is not very appealing like your typical beachy restaurant, I'm glad we ate dinner there. The onion rings were huge and they were crispy and fluffy. The ribeye steak was so juicy and trender. And the barbecue sauce just makes everything better. Must stop here if you're in town! I was very impressed.

  • Melissa B.

We come here every summer and they never disappoint. Our server was Ellen and she was on point the whole evening. We started with the crab fingers, which we normally describe as best on the beach. Not this visit. The crab fingers were cooked well but not seasoned. That's where the last star went. However, things turned back around with the entrees. Steaks were all cooked to perfection and sides were great! Thanks again to Ellen, your service was awesome!

There are only two steakhouses I can brag on, Angelo's and The Steakhouse in Rockmart, Georgia. Angelo's has been a tradition for us on our visits to PCB for many years and it never disappoints. The steaks are so good, don't touch them with any seasonings or steak sauce before you taste them, they're great the way they cook them! Leftovers the next day are just as good! Service is always good, and we didn't have to wait on our last visit, but waiting is never a complaint. The wait is worth it!

We had a large group of adults and kids. I thought the service was really good and timely. The steak was excellent! Everyone in our group agreed this was a great choice....even the kids!

My husband took me here for my birthday thinking it would be special. The salad was ok, the steak was just not good. The service was good but it couldn't compensate for the old stuffy smell and feel to the place. Very disappointed.

    (1)
  • Riley M.

Decent service, this is a huge place so I'm sure wait staff and kitchen is hopping. We were not fans or the flavor or quality of the steaks. To be a steakhouse, and for the price, we expected a lot more taste.

    (2)
  • Ty H.

This is a must stop every year when we come for vacation. It's always good but the last few years it has been inconsistent, one time the steak will be avg then the next time it will be the best one you've ever had. Regardless, it will be a regular on our list of places to eat

    (4)
  • Vali D.

We visited Angelo's this past week while on vacation. While the decor has not changed since the early 70's, the food was decent. The downside...the kids' meals were extremely overpriced ($10 for chicken fingers and $14 for a 6oz kid steak). We were shocked to say the least. We will not be back to Angelo's.

  • Brian T.

We eat here whenever we come to pcb. Food was delicious as usual. Had the bbq chicken. Bbq sauce is really good. Not too strong. Service this time was little slow. Portion Sizes was great. It is pricey.

Great place to eat. Absolutely authentic steakhouse. Older building and decorations but def original. If your looking for a great steak then this is a good place. Service was great. Food was great.

  • Chaz S.

I eat here once a year when I go to Panama City Beach on vacation. I have never been disappointed. Going during the summer months will give your child a good time, as there are pony/horse/bull rides out front of the restaurant. The best meal here is undoubtably the steak (not shocking, considering this is a famous steakhouse). The 28-32oz t-bone is the best t-bone I've ever tasted, and was more than large enough for my wife and I to split. It is seasoned perfectly, and the only downfall is the sick feeling you have when leaving the restaurant from the amount of meat ingested. :)

    (5)
  • Tommy R.

This is a place I have been coming to for over 40 years. I want to rate it high but it is just average. Service was very friendly and wait acceptable. However, it is slow and slightly out of order at times. Our server had a great attitude but needs more training or experience to serve expensive entrees like this. Steak was good but not hot, cooked well though. Kids liked the crab fingers appetizer. Salad with Greek dressing was good. Not a bad place but priced as though great. Spend $50 less for 4 people and eat at J Michaels. Get the Zombie, it is still the strong rum drink I had when I went in college.

Although Angelo's seems like a tourist trap with the iconic steer out front, it truly is a legendary place that rivals big-city steakhouses. I wavered between the filet mignon and sirloin and opted for the latter. Ordered medium rare, came out just as so. Others in my party ordered the sirloin tips as kabobs and they were reportedly delicious the first go and first-handedly judged tender and juicy as leftovers the next day. Prices are reasonable, especially for a good steak. Although the wait was long, it was managed well. A definite must and break from the endless seafood options PCB has to offer.

On the advice of the owner of the condo we are renting for the week, we went to Angilo's for dinner. The service was wonderful, and our food was amazing. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and so very tender. When the waitress found out it was our anniversary, we even got free pie! This was the best steak I have had in a long time.

ok steaks are pretty good but again not really worth the price you pay. My kids like steak also it ends up being pretty pricey

  • Morris R.

I felt like I had jumped into a time machine and been transported to an earlier time when service and great food were the winning combination. Service was definitely great as was the food. While it was a bit pricey the meal was better than you will get at a Ruth's Chris or Morton's. The booth we were seated in was a bit small. Which seemed out of place for such a big place.

My parents (82,76 yrs old), my son and daughter-in-law (21,19), my wife and I went to try Angelo's for the first time. Although, my wife and I lived in Tallahassee years ago and still visit PCB every year from Nashville where we live, we had never tried the restaurant before. We arrived on 7/10/14 around 6:10 and were told there was a 45 minute wait. We were finally seated at 7:25 pm. Two ordered steak and shrimp, one ordered ribs, one ordered fillet, my mother ordered the top sirloin and I ordered the NY Strip. Mom's sirloin was to be cooked medium and was well done. My Strip was ordered medium also and was delivered raw. We had to send them both back and by the time we got them everyone else had finished their meal. Manager, Miss Taully stopped to tell us she understood our food was not cooked correctly and was on the way. NO APOLOGY! Seasoning on the steaks were so salty, they were hard to eat. Sauté mushrooms were as salty. Server told us we do not want to order the Green beans as they are can beans that are sold in grocery store. Our tab was $200 for six and every one ordered water but me, sweet tea. What is interesting is how full the place is, nothing is grilled and if your sodium is low, well you in the right place. I will never be back here again. A lot better ways to feed six with $200 in PCB.

We went here all the time when I was a kid. Every summer my family would visit PCB and it would always include a visit to Angelo's. My mom and I visited this year over Mother's Day weekend...honestly it had been about 30 years since we had been there. It still looks the same, Gus is still out front that kid's still have their pictures made with. The ribs are great here, I love their sauce. The best part is when you get out of your car and walk towards the door ...the smell in the air is a combination of their ribs, steaks, bbq chicken, etc. It is lovely! Other things that we enjoyed were the baked potato, onion rings and fried crab fingers. Good to know, after 30 years you can go back and everything was just as good as you remembered as a kid!

  • Lori C.

Simply the BEST steak ever. Period. Cannot miss going to eat here every time we visit. Been eating there for decades! And although they're famous for their steaks, we always get a side of fried shrimp too-their shrimp are huge and delicious! Looooove my Angelo's!

    (5)
  • Angela S.

This is a great place to go for a really good steak at a good price. We were fortunate to go to Angelo's on the last night they were open for the season. The staff is friendly and outgoing and the wait is worth it. The steak is the draw, the sides dishes we ordered were so so. Would definitely go back again!

Great steaks. Décor is kinda old school 70ish kitsch.

This is the one place my family eats every time were in PCB. They are always busy but service is alway spot on and quick the steaks always top notch and cooked to perfection. If you leave hungry it's your on fault.

Family owned businesses who have been around for almost five decades know a little something about food. If you're looking for an escape from all the endless options of seafood along the florida gulf coast than give angelo's a try. The restaurant is the original and looks outdated but do not let the outdated building fool you. I have eaten at Angelo's at least 10 times in the last 2 years and each time i have had great experiences. Why pay $50 for a steak at Ruth's Chris steakhouse in SanDestin when you can get a better steak at Angelo's for $20 cheaper. The only downside is that they do not serve mashed potatoes alongside the steaks. If you've never had a flavor explosion from savory steak than you've never eaten at Angelo's. The service is always great and its impressive to see a family owned business service incredible amounts of people so fast. I would not be kidding if i told you that they can process and serve 200 tables in an hour. You'd never believe it until you see it. While the decor is dated its certainly not a place to take a first date, second date or third date. But once you get into a full relationship its the kind of place you'll be eating at weekly when its season.

  • Jason S.

Well, the name is certainly apropos, because they serve steak and it is definitely a pit. Not sure why in the hell I came here; I felt like I had jumped into a time machine and been transported to a Ryan's Family Steakhouse from the 70's or 80's, with prices that should have made it a Ruth's Chris or Morton's. The decor was incredibly dated and janky - it reminded me of my grandparent's house. And believe me, I'm all about the kitsch, this was not the good or ironic way I can tell you. I also get that this is a steak restaurant, but god save you if you are a vegetarian or have one in your party, because there will be NOTHING for them to eat. The kid's menu is also insanely expensive, everything is well over $10. One cool thing that happened while we were there was that we got to watch a disgruntled employee carted out of the kitchen by a stern-looking manager and a phalanx of servers. Ah, kitchen drama... A great place to watch fat tourists shove meat in their faces.

We went up and down Front Beach Rd. trying to find someplace decent to eat and everything had such long lines and wait times. We were passing this restaurant and my friend says OMG, this is where Honey Boo Boo ate! Me: Hu?!? So, we pull in and I go in to see what the wait time was because there were tons of people standing outside and inside. The girl says for 2 people, there is no wait! BINGO! Folks we have a winner! Going into the place, you can tell it is an older establishment, but very clean and the staff is super friendly. It's a steak place, so I'm all set to order a steak. By this time it's at least 8:30 so I'm thinking may be too late for a steak. I come across the Greek Salad on the menu and it just sounds so good. I ordered that and a cup of the Beef Vegetable soup. My friend ordered the salad and Clam Chowder (Not a fan of the Chowda!) They came with our salads, and holy hell! That bowl was huge, could have def. ordered the Small. It was delicious!!! The dressing was out of this world and they sell it in the gift shop! Overall great place to eat and not too pricy! Would definitely go back if I'm ever in that area!

A family tradition for me in PCB. Steaks are awesome. Sides are traditional old fashioned steak house. Decor is old but when you take that first bite of that 32 oz T bone you won't notice!

Best steak I've had in a long time. Cooked to perfection. My wife's was a little on the rare side but still a very good steak. Don't forget to squeeze the lemon over your steak and to get there early.

Need help with salt and pepper, flavor ok and tender but needs some help. And the mushrooms are yuk! For the money I would rather have gone to Texas Roadhouse!

We have been going to Angelo's for 10+ years. It is outdated and the lighting is horrible, but I think that's what they are going for. The food is good. The prices are a little high. The kids menu is a joke! Spending $10 on my 2 year olds dinner is outrageous. Thankfully she's not much of a eater and ate off of our plates. Expect to spend nearly $30 per person.

Angelo's is amazing. I eat here quite a bit and they are very consistent. I would recommend getting here as early as possible - before 5 PM would be ideal as they fill up very quickly. If you come later you could wait for an hour or more. The waiting area is pretty comfortable though so if there is a long wait, I'd stick it out. It will be worth it once you make it to your table. First of all, this place is very large. There are multiple rooms with tons of tables so even though there are tons of people there, the wait isn't that bad. My favorite thing here would have to be the half chicken, all white. What makes the chicken great is their BBQ sauce is amazing. I'm not even a fan of BBQ but it's something different about theirs. I will say though, usually one piece of my chicken will be nice and moist and the other is usually a little dried out so I will send it back if that's the case. I occasionally get steak here and it is always excellent. It's usually a hard decision for me to pick what I will eat because I love the steak but what I love about the chicken is that I will have lunch for the next day. I will also sometimes get the fried red snapper here; however, it's not my favorite. The crust is really thick and is just not the way I prefer to eat fried fish. I also love their fries and garlic bread. The baked potatoes are good too. The salads here are nothing special so I would recommend the NE Claim Chowder instead; it's really good. Service here is excellent. If you encounter any type of problem a manager will be over immediately to assure you they are fixing it. The only negative things for me is they serve Pepsi products, booo, and their sweet tea is not very sweet. Otherwise, this is my favorite place to eat on the regular.

Have eaten here for 40+ years & have never had a bad meal here. I love that nothing has changed there in all that time! Still enjoy the kitchen window to watch the steaks being cooked & taking a family photo with Big Gus!

We were so excited to go to Angelo's as we had heard such wonderful reviews, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. We ordered a porterhouse steak to split. The salad was lettuce and a couple of tomatoes. I had clam chowder which was excellent, then the steak arrived. When I tried to cut it to split with my husband I encountered sinew so tough that my husband asked if they had a chainsaw. We ate the parts of the steak that I could cut from the sinew and that part was tender and tasty. When I told the waiter I was disappointed he said he would talk to the manager who responded, "That is the ways some steaks are." The waiter was very apologetic and nice and we felt badly for him. We will not go to Angelo's again as we cant be assured that the quality of food served will be worth the price. We would rather patronize McDonalds.

My wife and I ate here back in 2004, and then again in 2006 with friends! We are huge fans of this place, they have great tasting steaks, the service is great and the price was reasonable. The decor seemed a little out dated but we just came here for the food anyways! If you are ever in PCB you should make a stop here, you will not be disappointed.

My family and I went to Angelo's tonight. The last time we've been there was five years ago as we are "tourists". Lol Great meals. Most of us ordered the Ribeye steaks and two had the Grouper. Good value for what you get.... Large portions, good steaks. Our waitress was GREAT!!!! She was so friendly and did not miss a beat. Ask for Kelly... We will be back in another 5 years. Lol

I should have know when the "COP" or "security guy" that came out into the front foyer at opening looks over at my husband & yells at him to shut the door that this was not going to be good. The line was all the way out to the first set of doors, we had just walked in & was kind of shuffling around the crowd to get "in". He was a rude A**, the people behind us held the door & the lady in front of us told them what just happen & they stepped over to the side.! Food was good and the only thing that saved the whole experience...would have been better if I could see it to eat it. Like so dark that I thought the orange on end of my kabob was a yellow pepper & only realized otherwise when I popped it in my mouth & got the orange rind tartness! It is dark, dreary and smells weird (old, musty) and felt like I was transported back to the 70s. Staff is dressed extremely outdated with blazers that look like they came from goodwill or salvation army,. If you get there at seating time, fair warning, its like calling the cows in! Over a loud speaker they yell make a line to the right & a line to the left & you will be seated. The call people over the loud speaker throughout dinner. I seriously contemplated after we were sat to make a bolt for the door. We live here, not tourists, I won't go back because it was one of the most ridiculous experiences dining I have every had & I have 20 years in restaurant management myself!!

The best steak I have ever eaten. The steak was so juicy and smokey! We went at 5 pm on a Sunday and were seated without a wait. We had out food in 20 min after ordering. Out entire visit took about 45 min which I found to be incredible. My only complaint was their terrible TV commercial where all is going well and then at the very end this goofy fellow pops in and is like "and remember blah blah blah something about a 20,000 lb bull out front blah blah!" Do not pass this place by!

We last went to Angelo's back about 10 years ago and I wasn't impressed. Recently, we had some friends visiting form Germany and they really wanted to go have a real American steak at Angelo's. Angelo's still have the same old, outdated, moldy smelling furnishings. Our server was a complete airhead. I've had dogs that could fetch a bone better than this ole gal. The service was really, really bad. The steak was ok but nothing special - about what I could make at home on a George Forman grill. The prices were sky high. It's no wonder there were only a few people eating there that night. Save yourself some money and go to Long Horn's steak house at pier park. There, you will get excellent service, reasonable prices and have a great steak in a fresh, comfortable and clean restaurant.

If you're sick of seafood and/or are on a quest for the best steak ever, GO.TO.ANGELO'S!! I've never had a bad meal here. On my recent trip to PCB, I headed over here after a few days of having seafood. After all, seafood is why I come to the beach, but I have to Angelo's to get my beef fix. I got the classic 13 oz. ribeye cooked medium rare. It had a fabulous char with just the right amount of fat (less than 1 oz). It was PERFECTION!!!!

Angelo's Steak Pit is an iconic piece of Panama City Beach history, but unlike the town, Angelo's has never really changed. The big ol' steer "Big Gus" still hangs out front welcoming people to PCB, but once you get inside, it's a textbook steakhouse. You got'cher steak, vegetable sides, big wooden tables, and ranch memorabilia on the wall. Full disclosure, I've not eaten a steak in a very long time, so I can't make an accurate review regarding them. That being said, the vegetarian options are nearly non-existent, especially if you're one of those "it can't have ANY meat" types. The salads are nothing special, and the vegetables are all made with pork fixin's. Also, where's the beer? The cream sherry was tasty and they've also got sanka if you're into that kind of thing. Enough doom and gloom -- The sauteed mushrooms are pretty good and the service has always been wonderful. Also, if you're craving something that will give you a heart attack (and who isn't) try their Angel Pie. There's nothing angelic about this buttery, cinnamony, sugary vixen. While I'm making up adjectives, if you're the meatery-broad or a desserty-fella, give their steaks and Angel Pie a try. If you're one of the growing hippy-dippy minority, you may wanna pass this one up.

Holy slab of beef. The 30-32 oz t-bone is to die for. Now let me explain why i gave a 5 star steak a 3 star review. My wife ordered the lady steak. And it was delivered well done when it should have been rare. So they took it back and mad a new one that was delivered about 5 min before the rest of the table was done eating. Then it too was wrong. It was medium well. Both way over cooked. And I never go out to eat expecting a free meal. But they did not even offer a discount for her steak being messed up twice.

Steak was good, not great. Sides were average, at best. Decor was old school. I expected more because a couple locals raved about this place. I had the 13 oz ribeye medium rare. It was good, but not great. I've been to many better steak houses in my day. I wouldnt go back.

Got the Top Choice steak with baked potato, I was pleased with the taste of the steak , particulary with lemon and a bit of Tabasco.. Steaks are cooked over flame pit out front, a process which one can watch .. The decor is sort of 1950s Texas style, but I guess that adds to the ambience.. The place was packed with bikers as I tried it on a Saturday night during Thunder Beach.. They have very good and quite large cocktails served in souvenir glasses, which cost $8. I woulda given them 4 stars, however, shortly after my steak was served I got up to wash my hands and returned less than 60 seconds later to find that my table had been cleared . I was alone, had just started my drink and steak.. They brought replacement food and said they were sorry, but of course I had to wait quite awhile for another steak to be cooked, and when they brought a replacement cocktail it was not the one I had ordered.. I ordered desert (the apple pie with melted cheese on top, it was good) and coffee, point being that I was sort of hoping that I would not be charged for everything since this mistake was made, no such luck. Was billed for everything and no discount.. Anyways, since I was here during Thunder Beach I figure it was one of the busiest nights of the year so I will cut them some slack and come back soon because I liked the steak! The atmosphere is indeed pretty old school but the staff are friendly and the "Texas style old school" atmosphere is OK with me..

Very high priced family steak house. The food was good, not perfect but did have a very filling meal. I had the T-bone...which was a great choice and wife had the ribeye. Kids meals were too pricey but their kids hamburgers would have filled an adult (very yummy burgers) Service was OK but it was very busy and kept the waiters/waitresses hoppin'. Not much presentation here...the place seemed a little outdated and our first impression when our steaks arrived was ewww I hope this tastes better than it looks....and the answer was "yes" it did....although very plain looking. Be prepared to drop at least $80 on two adults and 2 kids!!!

Have eaten here many, many times being a Panama City native....but last week will be the LAST time for my family and Angelos. The quality has just seemed to really go down over recent years, while the price just keeps climbing! The hostess(1 of what seemed to be a dozen) was extremely rude and pushy, and continued to pronounce our last name wrong even after I corrected her, twice. We had several orders of the friend crab fingers which were just ok...and then some of the clam chowder which was NOT homemade and had a "canned" taste to it....For our main course, we ordered the a ribeye, the shish kabob, a new york strip and I ordered the hamburger steak. Mine had to be sent back because it was not cooked properly inside (was raw) on a medium order. Which took another 20 mins leaving everyone almost done with their meal when I was just getting mine. We were a party of 5 (4 adults, 1 child) ...but we also got an order to go of fried shrimp (on a separate ticket)...the server added 17% gratuity to our party of 5 ticket which was ok,... but also added it to the SEPARATE TICKET for the takeout....17% gratuity on 1 takeout order...WOW....! We had dessert too which is not even worth mentioning...blah!

On our first night in PCB we couldn't decide where to eat and the smoke coming from Angelo's smelled divine so we chose to start here. In all my yeara coming to PCB I had never eaten at Angelo's. Great service, great meal. The ribeye was excellent! Cooked perfectly and had that sweet smoky flavor from the hickory grill. My husband got the meaty ribs and they weren't lying - tons of meat on these ribs! Salads were good, baked potato was a little underdone for my taste but over all an excellent meal!

their 2-lb t-bone hit the spot.....kid friendly....check out the cooks from outside the restaurant and watch them ply their trade. They have several large windows to view through....kids loved and the cooks were friendly...sprayed water at the windows for the kids. The steak was PERFECT...I ended up picking it up cave-man style to eat the last bits....pricey though....bill without liquor was $100 for 4

Good steak place. The decor was a little outdated and dark. A good place to get a steak. Good thing to know...if they ask you what you want on your baked potato...keep in mind it costs more of toppings. I found out the hard way when the bill arrived.

We ate here last night. We waited an hour for a table. (they do not take reservations) Definitely not the best steak I've ever tasted, but my brother-in-law said he was phenomenal. Perhaps I'm just not a big steak fan... After looking over the extremely overpriced menu, I settled on a Chef Salad. Yes, I know this is supposed to be a steak restaurant, but my husband ordered a steak and I didn't want to spend a fortune for dinner. I had a few bites of his steak. Anyway, the Chef Salad was huge. The ham on the salad was a bit salty, but it was still edible. Overall the salad tasted pretty good. I'm not sure exactly what kind of cheese was on the salad... it was in little slices... kind of had the texture and taste of american cheese singles. I really hope that is NOT what it was. ugh. The bread they bring to the table with your meal is nothing special at all. You get better bread at chain restaurants like American Café, Outback, and O'Charley's. Our server was kind of slacking. Our table always needed drink refills. Other than that she was a nice enough girl. I'm sure she had a lot of tables to tend to. Oh, and the Kids Menu is horrible! The menu items sound good, but the prices are way too high! $12 for chicken fingers?! For a kid?! I THINK NOT!!! That's crazy! Bottom Line: Too expensive for what you get... food, service, everything. There are many places to eat in PC & PCB that are all-around-better, in my opinion, than Angelo's.

This is my favorite steakhouse. Wife & I have been eating here for 25 yrs. when on vaca. from Atl. Now that it's just me I'm carrying on the tradition. I visited on a Sat. evening in June & was seated immediately without waiting (big bonus). This place is run like a fine tuned machine, they get you in, feed & out in short order. I had the filet & baked potato. It comes w/salad (ask for the green beans & beats). The steak was grilled to perfection and all was fab. Make it a point to visit "The Big Bull" you won't be disappointed.

I've been eating here for over 30 years and the food is consistently delicious. I don't think anything has changed in all that time (even the wait staff, j/k). Get the fillet and jumbo shrimp. And don't forget to put some lemon juice on the steak. Trust me on this.

I liked Angelos.... they need some more on their menu, but all of the classics are there. My 8 oz serloin was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The soup and sides were also very good. Next time I am in Panama, I will be going back.

Angelos 32oz. T-bone will rock your world. Definately a family oriented steakhouse. I like to hit it up on the late side and destroy some of the tastiest steak you will find. Plenty of parking, family owned and operated. I like supporting the family busines

Angelo's doesn't disappoint. And these guys know how to move people. Get there before 5:30 though or you will BR waiting. Don't come here looking for seafood - it's beef baby! The service here is also rather impressive - not that the servers are the best in the business, but they throw a lot of them at you so they are attentive and quick.

Huge, HUGE FAN! Probably one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Was very skeptical before I went, with a big bull out front, I was expecting something more along the lines of Golden Corral. Huge parking lot that was pretty full. It was a Tuesday night in June. I would have expected there to be a line but no wait at all. We were seated right away. I think I got the NY Strip and a baked potato. I remember the steak having a great smoke flavor. Living in NYC, I get to eat at top steakhouses pretty frequently and would place Angelo's steaks up there with the finest. I love that the steak can stand alone and doesn't require any sauce to taste great.

I loved this place. The sevice was great, the meal was great, and the atmosphere was odd, in a good kind of way. I had a ffrozen strawberry daquiri in a take home light up mug and a filet mignon, which were both wonderful. Our waitress, Kelly (or Kellie, I'm not sure) was wonderful and she helped us out since we aren't really from PCB. Don't forget to but the lemon on the steak, it does make the steak better by 25%!! Trust me. The only minus is the price, which is extremely high! Oh, and bring a coat! The temperature was freezing in there after coming out of 70 degree weather.

Ate here again. This time for my husbands birthday...his choice. This place has his all-time favorite steaks--he swears by them! I, being a non-beef eater, haven't found my niche here yet. I've tried their fried seafood selections and the batter is too much---can't taste the food for the batter--yuck! Our waiter was wonderful and completely on top of things. The decor of this restaurant is the same as when I was much younger, but they still have the crowds--so I guess if it ain't broke they are not fixing it. Big Gus had his own personal security guard outside, which I've seen before, but noticed this time the guard was ARMED!!! Little scary since he looked a little older and frail? Maybe they're taking this wild west saloon theme too far? Over all good food for everyone in our party but me. Expensive meal though---kids meals range $7.00-$9.00 for a true kids portion. We will eat here again, but not by my choice.

Every time we go down to PCB this is a must eat, the steak is great. We were told this past time that you have to squeeze your lemon over the steak to really get the full flavor of how it is prepared and I couldn't agree more. The place is huge and packed every time we go.

This review is over a year in coming, so things *might* have changed. I kind of doubt it, though. This joint seems pretty well established. I was impressed with the volume of meat this place produces- they have two full kitchens on either side of the restaurant, pumping out the beef, with viewing windows so you can see the action as you wait. Speaking of the wait- this place gets busy, so I don't recommend popping in because you're hungry *now*- you may end up eating your shoes before you get seated. No, Angelo's is a destination restaurant, someplace that requires a little bit of planning. The meat was tasty and, in fact, the taste of the meat seemed to soothe some carnal desire I had because I inhaled my plate. Literally. Afterward, we bought a jar of their rub, and use it all the time. Anything that gets grilled gets the rub, whether its beef, pork or chicken. We know its mostly sea salt and pepper, but we don't care- the combination is great. The oddest thing we've put the rub on? Last week we baked some pumpkin seeds, using the rub. As the Quizno's guy says- Mmm, mmm,mmm,mmm,mmm-... So, why only four stars? Well, I already mentioned the wait (-1), which is unavoidable. A place like this is bound to get bogged down alot. Also, the meat wasn't the best cut there is (-1), but it was decent, and they flavor it up quite nice. So that's two stars down. However, they installed the windows so you can watch the kitchen prepare the meals, which is like a floor show into itself, so they get one star back (+1).

  • Eric C.

I have to give this place four stars because the food is really good, and I've never had bad service. They serve a great steak. However, it has an odd feel about it. First, the place is huge. The parking lot is so big they have a guy in a limo style golf cart who picks you up and deposits you at the entrance. I've never taken advantage of this amenity, because, well, it just makes you feel that much worse about going in and eating an eleven hundred calorie meal. Unless you get there right when they open, the place is going to be really, really crowded; you will find yourself in the midst of all sorts and conditions of men. When you are shown to your seat, odds are you're going to go on another lengthy walk. Pay attention, because the place is so large you can forget where the exit is unless you've noted landmarks along the way. It's what I imagine visiting one of those mega churches must be like. Also, there are several dining halls which all look pretty much the same, but they have cowboy or otherwise agriculturally themed names like "The Back Forty." The decor is outdated, as several other people have noted, but is that really what you're here for? The few times I've been, I've only ordered steak, mainly because it feels like ordering anything else defeats the purpose of eating at a "steak pit." If you really like onion rings, they've got some good ones here. However, unless you're eating with a group of three or more, the onion rings are just going to make more food than you're going to want to eat. I like the clam chowder they serve, though it isn't something you go away remembering. That's the steaks. They are well marinated, and this is nicely accented by the lemon wedge they give you. You don't need steak sauce. I've never had room for dessert, so I can't comment on their quality. Make no mistake, this is a high volume restaurant that caters to the tourists of PCB. If the sight of septuagenarians in shorts and knee socks bothers you, you might want to stay away. But if you are here on a family vacation, this is a great option for a good steak. Perhaps it isn't for everyone, but 4 of 5 stars for doing a good job of being what it claims to be: a steak pit.

I'm not usually a steak-eater, but when our family went to Angelo's tonight, I thought I had to taste what all the hype was about. I ordered the 10 oz. sirloin steak. It was delicious! I ordered it medium, which was perfect because it had a minuscule amount of pink in it. So much flavor and very tender! The great thing about Angelo's, besides the steak, is how much food comes with your meal. With all entrees, you also get soup or salad, and a side of potatoes (fries, baked, mashed). My wife got the barbecue chicken (which was a very generous portion, to say the least). It is kind of expensive. Our family, of four, payed over $100. Great food, generous portions, and great service!

5 STARS. I cant believe this place gets low reviews from people complaining about the wait time ,....you HAVE TO WAIT at good restaurants. I understand that PCB locals might not like that, but its common at high end steakhouses in LA, NYC and SF.... and Angelo's beats almost all of them. And the prices are very reasonable when compared to a steakhouse in those cities. I actually prefer the downhome feel of Angelos to a more stuffy steakhouse, but when it comes to steaks its all about the flavor. If you read these other yelp reviews, they complain about the wait or the price, but all ackowledge that the FOOD is excellent. The wood fired steaks, the seasoning, and the squeeze of lemon the waitress tells you to use make for a perfect meaty meal. Its almost worth a cross country flight and a hotel stay just to get it again! By the way, you can buy their seasoning and I highly recommend you do so since its worth it to take home, and its only about $7 in the restaurant but much more expensive ($20 including shipping) if you have to order it online. Ive done both bc I still want that Angelos taste back home

Angelo's is a huge and very popular place, so unless you get there at just the right time you might have a pretty long wait. The steak is not the best I have ever had, but pretty good for vacay food. The seafood is disappointing because all the choices are fried tempura style- which seems to be pretty greasy and unflavorful. I recommend the steaks only! Pretty decent place- I'll visit again! :)

    (3)
  • Brittany M.

Definitely a tourist place, the prices are high and the wait is very long. I must say though, that my tbone steak was fantastic and not overcooked. But for $29 it better be fantastic! When our steak came out it was undercooked, so we sent it back and I was concerned that it was going to come out well done. But it came out perfectly and the server even brought us a fresh side to go with it. My husband and I split the steak and we still had leftovers. The food was good, but I am not anxious to go back. The hour wait for a table and then two hours at the table was a bit much for us and our two small kids.

Eating at Angelos is an annual event. This was my 20th year in a row eating here. We eat here every year for my aunts birthday with a large group. FOOD- I get the filet every year and this year was no different. Tons of flavor and cooked perfect. Several members in our group got the hamburger steak and was huge. Staff- everyone was friendly, however we were seated at 8:00 and at 8:30 will still didn't have our drinks. By the time the first meal reached the table it was between 9:30-9:45. Several meals were a little cold. But 1 bad experience in the last 20 years is ok. We will be back!!!!!

I've been going to Angelo's and taking a picture next to the bull outside since I was a tiny baby. Angelo's is always a spot we attend everyime we visit. The decor may not be up to par for some expecting an upscale steak house, but that's because it's not an upscale establishment. The atmosphere is very country, with an old country store to shop in, a bit dimly lit, yet the food here is sub par. You cannot go wrong with any steak you order on the menu though. This tends to be a family tradition to go to Angelo's at least one time a year. I'm 27 and I can't count on two hands how many times I have been here. You almost have to arrive here right when it opens to make sure you don't have a long wait, our family starts planning at about 1-2 pm for an evening dinner. From the homemade dressings to the warm bread, the crab claw appetizer, any steak on the menu, and all of the side items are worth writing home for. Without fail your steak always comes out as ordered, which tends to be a problem at other restaurants. The only reason it gets 3 stars is because the atmosphere can get out of hand. It is still regarded as a nicer place to dine and people tend to show up in beach gear. The servers also tend to get annoyed with travelers, especially those who are intoxicated or come in rather large parties which tend to be about 10-20 per table on any given summer night being that this is a staple establishment to attend every time you go to the beach. From what I remember, Angelo's has a seasonal calendar, they usually close in October and do not re-open until mid Spring pending the regular beach-goer season which makes it a hot commodity upon the arrival of Spring Breakers.

Don't eat here. Seriously. The place is stuck in 1975 in an old/tired location with aptly used 70s era decor. It reminds me of a tourist trap and it is, it smells bad when you walk in (my intuition was right), and the food is well below average. None of the 5 steaks ordered at our table were cooked correctly and my "salad" was soaked in water and then soaked some more in dressing - so was everyone else's. Thought about tipping by leaving a salad spinner or a dish towel. And I actually heard a waitress tell someone "put lemon on your steak to bring out the seasoning" - I think the only thing that would compare to the food quality would be eating fish sticks and beef liver in the condo for a nice surf-n-turf. Lemon on a steak? How about just a good steak that doesn't need citrus help? Bottom line: bad food, actually pretty good service, very bad time-warped decor, and way way way over priced for a sirloin which is their specialty according to the menu.

Well, I finally decided to try out this place on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Place seemed to be packed for an end of season. I was promptly greeted an seated, tho the booth were somewhat uncomfortable. I hated the hickory, smoked smell that seemed to enwrap the whole place. Ended up leaving with a mild headache. Service was rather slow. Ordered my New York strip steak well done, had to return it because had pink in it when it was brought out. Salad did not seem fresh. Had to wait long for my water to be refilled, which I've found particularly annoying. Wasn't impressed with the quality of service or food, so I think it was a one time thing for me.

Went to last night. Ordered t- bones medium rare. Very good. Great service. Decor is same since open very old. I don't know why some yelper leave 1 star but everytime we eat here great steak and service.

Very flavorful steaks. I had the ladies sirloin and only one end was over cooked. The rest was a perfect medium. Basic baked potato with butter cheese and bacon and a few chives I think. Salad was simple but fresh. Waiter was great. Get here early in the afternoon bc this place was packed!

I've been here 3 times every time I've been to pcb with my now in-laws. It's their favorite place to go for a nice dinner on vacation. Their steaks are awesome and I have always bought their seasoning for $10 and got an extra for my parents which they now request every time I go and they've never even eaten there. A must eat in PCB
