The woman who claims to own the place is rude and does not honor the sarku cards.. the food is ok.. not as good as other sarku though.

Still the rudest restaurant in the mall and probably all of Oviedo. Not to mention I use to always get a stomach ache after eating their food. I refuse to ever support their business again.

Oh Sarku Japan, you're my only friend. The food here is absolutely magnificent. Wow. The sweet sauce, the delicious chicken, the amazing noodles, and the tasty rice. All of it is a winning combination. Located in the Oviedo Marketplace (now officially a Mall), it is very convenient to get to. I cannot go to this mall without eating here. It's also a great meal for before or after a movie at the theater upstairs. The employees here are great. I've seen people refer to them as rude, but I don't feel that's the case. They are extremely busy compared to all the other restaurants in the food court. That means they need to take your order and prepare your food as quickly as possible so that they can take care of as many people as they can. They may come off rude, but they really just want you to enjoy your meal as quickly as possible. The lady (I'm embarrassed I don't know her name) that's usually behind the counter when I go will always ask me about my son (as long as there isn't a line). Very friendly.

What can I say about Sarku other than awesome!!! We've been going to Sarku for close to 10 years now. This is one of the main reasons we visit the Oviedo Mall as often as we do. They always have someone outfront to have you taste the Sarku chicken. I always take a piece just to make sure thats what I have a taste for it and I always do! Its so tasty! We always do the sarku chicken (usually double) and I flip flop between all steamed rice or steamed rice and veggies. I also ask for extra sauce over the rice which makes it more delicious! I have tried the shrimp before and you were given a generous amount of shrimp, it just doesnt compare though to the Sarku chicken. The Maki Roll (Spring Roll basically) is also very tasty and affordable. My husband usually gets the same but ops for Noodles instead of veggies. Reading other reviews, I've never really encountered them being rude. I have encountered being rushed... but being in that mall and you have the longest line I would want to rush and get everyone through too. I think it also has to do with that they cook the chicken right in front of you so they want to make sure they put out enough to cook at the same time to try and get people out quicker. Usually you go to malls and other food resturants are trying to get your business as well, so before you change your mind they want to get your services which is another reason why they are quickly moving you through. Sarku is also a chain and I have visited other locations and they don't compare to this specific location. Long line, good chicken and havent gone out of business when 75% of the others have, seems like a awesome place to me!

Food was decent. Wife and I shared a meal and they only gave us one cup of water::: asked for another cup and it was 0.75 cents.. For free water and a small styrofoam cup, I don't think so! Horrible experience will not eat again.

The food is not bad for the average mall joint but..man..does he really need to water SRIRACHA down? Honestly, I even found a fly in the sriracha which tells me he manipulates the product, not cool! UPDATE: downgraded it to 1 star because I got food poisoned, fever, chills, diarrhea, and a bad stomach pain...this coming from someone who has eaten street food in Thailand, with rats and flies all over. Eat at your own risk, is obvious they are not clean.

The food is pretty good but their customer service SUCKS!! They treat paying customers like crap. I will never give them my money again!

I used to eat at the Sarku in Tallahassee. This place is good for their fast food hibachi. Double chicken... with veggies and that oh so important extra pour of that oh so sweet Teriyaki sauce on top. Mmmm.... the only thing worth coming to in this dead-ass Oviedo mall.

This is, by far, the best place to get food from in the mall. From the very beginning until now there are only three places that have survived: Chick-fil-a, Smoothie Bee, and Sarku. It's not really a "type" of food, even though it says Japan, it's more like a place to get a specialty dish. Sarku chicken all the way! The sauce cannot be beat and to my knowledge is incredibly difficult to replicate. My boyfriend and I will even stop at the mall just to get Sarku and nothing else. We also get it before the movies when we don't want to drive to Waterford or Altamonte for IMAX. I'd say, cool your heels and embrace a one of a kind dish from a place that has been there forever. Oh and also, for those of you saying the service isn't good or they rush you or are rude, etc. That's a cultural difference, not everyone is a white lady with a pretty smile asking you if you want extra ketchup. I've been served by at least three of them since I started eating a Sarku 11 years ago and day in, day out, they have been there. You can't say that about any other place in the mall.

I dread going to the mall and trying to find something to eat. Have gone to sarku on occasion and really never liked it. Not a big fan of their noddles, and their chicken has an after taste that I don't like. Also the same Japanese or Asian women is always at the register, she doesn't understand English good enough to work the register. She's very pushy and should be friendly. Not much of a selection at this mall.

If your gonna get mall food this is the best place the service is alright it's not the best place in the world but it's pretty great the chicken is the best chicken in this world although I do recommend extra meat this is a must have!

The food is very good. I can't believe they got this one lady to smile though. She is about a rude as they get. Reminds me of the soup nazi episode on seinfeld. I have to suggest the photo, just because it never happens.

The Sarku chicken & veggies over Brown rice is what I get every time. They have extra sarku/teriyaki sauce on the end along with Sriracha, to put the finishing touches on as you see fit. If you are curious just accept the free sample.. the staff is isn't overly friendly, but who cares?? This isn't a restaurant! Just fast mall food!! Also, word to the wise. If you like to "napalm the rice" ( theoatmeal.com/comics/sr… ) like I do, they have begun making their own sriracha, and it is way hotter than the store bought variety. So be warned!!

My favorite place to eat when I'm at the Oviedo Marketplace. It's a quick and simple lunch or snack when I want some teriyaki chicken or sarku chicken with white rice. I used to get seafood soba but they don't have that anymore. Both chicken dishes are pretty much the same way of cooking: Teriyaki chicken has the sauce pour over once the chicken is cooked; Sarku chicken is the same chicken they cook on the hibachi hotplate and then pour it into a sauce pan with the sarku sauce (it's like teriyaki but not as sweet). Give it a try. It's the most popular choice to eat other than the Chic fil A right next to it.

There is no doubt that this fast food restaurant has good food. I have enjoyed the chicken sarku and noodles. However, the overall experience has been lacking because of service. On our last visit, We did not receive our meal as ordered and they did not correct it when asked. In addition, they charged us 25 cents for a cup of water. The good food prevents me from giving it a single star, but I cannot give an A-OK. Service and friendliness is just as important as the food quality.
