I went in for pizza at lunch. All of the booths had dirty tables. I sat in the cleanest one and was greeted by a friendly server who mumbled and stared at me with her mouth hanging open. The menus were easy to read, but greasy. I ordered a pie with three toppings and a beer (typical redneck selection, I went for the Amstel light). The beer came out promptly with a frozen mug (to hide the beer taste, thank goodness). The pie was nice, one of the better ones I've had in the area. Thin, New York style crust. Could have had better flavor (the dough had a nice crispness, but lacked any depth). The toppings were conventional with the exception that they used fresh mushrooms (which all places should do). Surprisingly, the plate was ceramic. But also dirty. The silverware was dirty. I only got one napkin (wrenched around the silverware). I was headed for a three star meal, until I took in the view. I really don't understand why Mom-and-Pop, low-grade Italian joints always have crappy murals painted on the walls. These were particularly horrible. In fact, I recommend going in for a meal just to get a laugh. "Eh, the Roman ruins don't have any two pillars that are the same and the 3D perspectives are impossible, but what the heck, it's only our business!". It seems like an 80s small business dream long forgotten. Not updated. Just tired.

Don't like to diss an Italian eatery but, you guys need to seriously kick it up a notch. We've tried it twice because the first time around was so disappointing. The second time it was no better. Though it's obviously a popular place, methinks its filled with customers who have no clue about authentic Italian cooking. The servers are all very nice, the eating area is comfortable enough but the food is just not the real deal. Perhaps it is Americanized because of the location and demographics. If so, we understand completely that you have a lot of eatery competition in the area. The sauce is far too sweet...as in a hefty dose of either tomato paste or from hours of simmering. A lot like Papa John's pizza "sauce" and that is no compliment. There was nothing memorable on our plates so, I've got to give you a kick in the pants for coasting on those who generously give you more than two stars.

Here are the main points: 1. Service - Great! The servers are always super nice and accommodating. They're very prompt and quick on their feet -- always a plus. 2. Atmosphere - OK. Not quite beautiful, but not divey/grungey either. Walls of Italian frescoes contrast with the plain tables and chairs. If you're looking for an authentic Italian atmosphere, this is not the place. But, it's very neat and clean and there is plenty of seating. 3. Food - Hit or Miss. Salads - Hit. Typical iceberg lettuce topped with tomatoes, peppers, onions, carrots, and pepperoncini. I prefer mine with the House Dressing. Pasta - Mostly Miss. Fettuccine is bland, flavorless, and goopy. Aglio Olio is nauseating and hard to swallow; seriously upset my stomach. Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce is surprisingly good; not amazing, but decent. Pizza - Mostly Hit. Great crust and flavor; holds up well when you pick it up; a tad oily though. Hot Subs - Mostly Miss. The meatball sub was dense and dry; felt like it had the consistency of an old sausage. They were generous with the sauce and cheese though. Bread was toasted perfectly. Dessert - Meh. Tiramisu is tasty, though was a little frozen. :P I have very mixed feelings about the place. My coworkers and I stop by for lunch occasionally, but I still haven't really been impressed with anything they serve. Props to them for having gluten-free pizza though.

Really good pizza and salads haven't tried much else there but there cheese and sausage pizza are pretty amazing, I'd definitely give them a try if you want something besides papajohns or dominos nice change, would recommend been there many times!

Gino's is located in the back of a large strip mall, anchored by a Publix Grocery store, several miles north of UCF on Alafaya Trail. We picked up a couple of pies, a salad and some garlic knots following a home football game on Saturday. I cannot comment on their service as a result, but the inside of the restaurant is pretty typical of a shopping center pizza place. Nothing special, but certainly not dirty or grimy, either. The pizza was good. Solid, not exceptional. Qualifies as a typical New York pie. Certainly better than what you will get at your typical chain restaurant (Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's etc.). The salad was also good, but lacking a little something. Again, not the best salad I've ever come across, but more than sufficient. If you come across Gino's, or are in the area and craving pizza or Italian food, this place should hit the spot. 3.5 stars rounded up in this instance.

Don't EVER order delivery! Ordered a pizza and was told 30-45 minutes. After a little more than TWO HOURS it was finally delivered. Opened the box to find a lukewarm, at best, pizza that did not appear appetizing at all. Drove it back to the restaurant and was treated like dirt by the manager, owner & staff...as if it was my fault.

We had a sausage pizza and a plain cheese pizza to go. My family is pretty picky when it comes to NY style pizza and this was accepted and placed on the list to buy again. Not the best we have ever had, but it was a good size pizza, good quality of ingredients and not too expensive. The place is pretty small, but looked like a local favorite that I will have to try for an eat in lunch now that I am a local.

Great pizza but HORRIBLE service!!! Our garlic knots were burnt so I asked for new ones and the cook brought them out and very rudely told me next time ask for them lightly cooked....like really? They were burnt and he has the nerve to tell me I should have asked for them to be lightly cooked??? The waitress was even worse she came to my table twice and barely did anything, other people ran the food and dropped the check off but we were the only table in the restaurant....there's absolutely no excuse for the crappy service I got. My table and I felt more like a burden to them then more than like paying customers. It was by far the wost service I've gotten in a long time. I suggest getting the pizza to go and only to go.

Been coming here since they opened but, went there 2 weeks ago and two of the young men ordered veal parmesan, both came with two pieces of meat veal on top and chicken on the bottom. One was sent back, the other was eaten as the young man was unfamiliar with veal. I noticed it on a piece given to a toddler. One plate possibly an accident, two done on purpose. One of my favorites for pizza but, Oviedo has lots of good pizza joints. I will not be going back.

I haven't really dined inside in the restaurant in awhile, but my family and I order a pizza from Gino's at least once a week. The pizza is "New York Style" and is as delicious as the real thing. The sauce has a rich and bold flavor that is the perfect consistancy. The mozzerella cheese is fresh and plentiful. And the crust is crisp and tastes great even by itself. You can truly tell that the ingredients are high quality and fresh! The calzones are another favorite for my family and I. I haven't really tried their pasta or other dishes, but from my experience with their pizza, I'm sure they are delicious too! They serve a variety of traditional Italian pasta dishes, along with salads, appetizers, calzones, and daily lunch specials. I highly recommend Gino's even with all the other competition out there in Oviedo. Gino's pizza is definately the cream of the crop.

Look, I have been searching for great pizza I can enjoy on a lazy day or a night when I don't have time to cook. Not abstract adaptations of Italian style pizza like in winter park. I am talking about a good NY style pizza that's better than the delivery garbage. After trying about every pizza joint in and around Oviedo, I have finally found my favorite pizza place. This is about as close as you are going to get to NY style pizza in east Orlando. This is a must try pizza place if you are searching for a new place to get great tasting pizza. It's a bit of a hole in the wall but that's part of the charm. I have never eaten inside so I can't speak to the service but my pizza is cooked to order (I like mine well done/extra crispy). Pizza places come and go...and it's usually because of the pizza. Give this one a try. Best White Pie within driving distance and they offer gluten free crust.

Been going there on and off for 8 years. Pizza is ok, a little on the thin side. Prices average, service average. We don't go there much because it's pretty much average. The wings are good. It's a good place to go when your in a jam and want a place close by. May have to go there soon, just not much to say, been awhile since we have been there. A coupon would get us in faster. I don't recall coupons for them.

After reading the reviews, I decided to eat here tonight for dinner. I went with my son and his wife. We ordered a pizza with cheese and half pepperoni. The restaurant is a nice place. It's clean and smells wonderful. The beer was cold and the mug frosty. The pizza was very disappointing. Unlike the guy from New England who rated this place, I am a New Yorker and I can be honest, this pizza is brutal. Order something else. A gentleman visited my table to ask me how the pizza was. I think it may have been Gino. I said it is not NY pizza. Too much cheese and too thick. The crust didn't have that brick oven taste. I felt terrible being honest. He did offer to try again. I thought that was a wonderful gesture, but unnecessary. I found it strange that he said you must ask for less cheese and for thinner pizza. Usually it's the other way around. I guess ordering pizza is like getting a real bagel... If you must get it toasted, it's not a real bagel. Pizza, especially pizza that claims to be NY style means thin and less cheese. Sorry Gino. I will go back to order something else though.

Again being a New Englander and growing up where Italian restaurants are king, I've been a bit let down with Gino's as of late. I had lunch the other day with a friend, was utterly disappointed in the food and service. I ordered a calzone while my friend ordered two slices of pizza. Total, bill was $20+. Not sure if the prices have gone up or not, but that's a bit much for lunch anywhere. The food was fine, but a bit bland. Again I was expecting more from a place I've been so many times before. It will be a while til I return, and hope that things change for the better. With so many choices now in Oviedo I would think they might step it up a bit. Just a thought. The three stars is a gift, it was more like one and a half. However I think things can change from this local pizza spot.

Kinda pricey; hope its worth it... And it was! I was slightly worried when we sat down as everyone else in the place had ordered pizza - we were craving pasta. The servers (we seemed to have 2) were extremely friendly and helpful. We ordered fettucine alfredo with shrimp and their penne fresco alla pollo (both $14 a plate, respectively). The meals included a garden salad - very plain but at least the greens were fresh - and yeast rolls. I would've preferred garlic bread but the yeast rolls were very tasty, yet better suited to a steakhouse. Anyway, the dinner portions were huge! There is no way we could even come close to finishing them. The shrimp alfredo had plenty of pretty, pink shrimp and my penne dish was absolutely loaded with chicken, broccoli, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a very flavorful cream sauce. We were very pleased with both dishes. Overall the restaurant looked clean and orderly, the staff was pleasant, and it's a local establishment that's been in Oviedo since 1986. We like finding local haunts and this may very well become one. Can't wait to try the pizza.

Service was a tad slow but there was only one server for the 5 tables that were seated. Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
