Used to live about 2 minutes from this amazing BREAKFAST place. That's right, breakfast. If you come for lunch, I would say just have breakfast FOR lunch. The eggs are prepared deliciously and the waffles and pancakes? PERFECT. The ladies who work here are so sweet. If you are ever craving a yummy breakfast, come here. You won't be disappointed, trust me. I've been eating here my whole life. :)

Went to this place today, it was closed and look abandoned. Somebody told me they have been close for at least 3 weeks.

Waffles with canned strawberries, not what we expected in florida. Also cheese omelet with sliced cheese on top.....who does that?

Stopped in for lunch and ordered a bowl of their lemon rice soup and a patty melt. The soup had way too much lemon in it and really overpowered the dish. The patty melt on the other hand was typical diner but really enjoyable. It has lots of flavor , cheese and was on a good rye bread. I will give this place a three star rating , and would return if I'm looking for diner type food and stay away from the lemon rice soup.

Terrible, really terrible. I rarely have bad reviews but this was beyond bad. Maybe breakfast is OK but lunch was a disaster. Warm Iced ?? Tea. The corn-beef sandwich I received was requested to be cold. It was on desert dry toast with two slices of meat and some dried up cheese. You would be better off just staying home. With so many great place to eat in the Sarasota/Osprey area, I am astonished that this place remains in business. We wont be back- ever.

They DO take credit cards. It's a diner and they serve diner fare...and do it quite well. If you want something fancy, then this s not for you. If you want a stick to your ribs meal, head on over. Breakfast is the only time we go.

Love this hole in the wall! Pancakes as big as your head. Yummy omelettes. Great Greek salad with chicken, Very sweet waitstaff.

Probably just plain shabby over shabby chic but if you like no frills and good food then you might give it a try. We ordered the gyro sandwiches and they arrived hot and to channel Sheldon Cooper: the ratio of meat to lettuce to feta cheese was just right for the pita. You stop here for decent cheap eats. Whatever ambiance they might have is being ruined as WalMart is building a multi-pump ga station right next door. Too bad. Stop by for some real tase of the greasy spoons that used to populate the towns and highways before McDonalds homoginized fast food. Staff is frienly. No booze, just coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

Great little old style diner that serves breakfast like Grandma used to make! Eggs Benedict & Biscuits & Gravy or Chipped Beef on Toast are yummy. Ample portions & low, low prices. Usually go there for breakfast. Friendly efficient staff.

This is a nice place to go if you don't feel like 'grease'n up' your own kitchen. Here at M&D they'll do it for you. The 5 star rating is offcourse for your own cholesterol level after leaving this 'train compartment'. Very old. Almost nostalgic. An icon in the area. If you just rolled outof bed on a Sunday morning, don't have high expectations and are just hungry for breakfast and coffee, this is the place to go. Even if your still in your Pj's, no one will ever know.

A few years ago this was not a bad place to go, not great but a solid place for a greasy spoon kind of meal. I recently went to lunch there with a friend. the place is really dirty looking, faux stone peeling off the wall and just a shabby as it gets, We should have left then, The food was just as bad. my friend had a turkey sandwich, it was real turkey breast but so dry that it was like eating cardboard and i had a tuna melt, it was the worst quality tuna dark brown and really gross. so bad we did not finish our meal. YUCK.
