I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. It's an Orlando staple, an easy go-to, where you know you'll always get good food. They offer both Vietnamese and Thai food, full menus of both cuisines actually. My favorite is the pineapple fried rice that is served in a hollowed out pineapple! Awesome. While it is possible to eat here for under 10 bucks, generally I don't because the appetizers are too good to pass up. Unlike most Asian restaurants in the area, this one is open on Sunday.

Best Vietnamese Spot in OZONE. My favorite thing their is the Banh Canh with chicken added this is basically like a thick noodle soup with an incredible broth. The Viet Combo appetizer is very tasty and come with great shrimp toast. they also make some kick ass Vietnamese coffee

This is the only viet. Place we will eat at. I have been going there for over 10 years and they have always been great, never a bad meal or service.

Admittedly, we are spoiled from all the excellent Asian food in Seattle. The fresh rolls were simple but ok. The tom yum soup was definitely the highlight of our meal. Flavorful and well spiced, though light on the chicken. The pad see ew was kinda bland and uninspired. All in all: eh.

This place is my neighborhood go-to for good affordable food and fast service. I've been a number a times and always thought the food was tasty, but a few weeks ago I went while I was feeling under the weather. I had one thing on my mind: a curative soup. I went in, frumped out, placed my to-go order and five minutes later was back on my way home. The soup my friends was more than curative--it was MAGIC. I'm not joking, but within half an hour I felt 50% better. Within an hour I was 75% better. The next morning, I was back at 100%. I credit the soup! (#29 glass and egg noodle with wontons, pork, and shrimp) if you're curious and/or sickly. High marks also go to the waitstaff. A server my companion and I had had weeks ago recognized us, recalled our conversation, and asked us how the new apartment was. Pretty great stuff! I've now been to a number of the Vientnames places along Colonial, and I crown this one a winner. Go and heal fellow yelpers.

Read reviews on Yelp. AGREE with the comments about FAST service. My friend ordered Pad Thai, and she forgot to order it with shrimp. When it came, she apologized, and they switched it right out for her without charge. The food was good. Not extraordinary, but GOOD and good prices. Friendly service. Everything was clean and the walls in the main restaurant are painted with lovely scenes. Downside: The bathroom needed some better plumbing.

Just ate here. I ordered the Combination pho at top of the pho section of the menu, minus the tripe. My boyfriend ordered the Tom kah gai. The pho was yummy! The Tom kah gai was way too sweet and had too much coconut milk in it. The service was ok, we waited a bit for the bill and didn't get watered other than the original glass. We will definitely go back for pho, just not the Tom kah gai.

I cut my teeth on Vietnamese food in Orlando, living right near this strip of Vietnamese restaurants. Viet Garden has been a consistently reliable source of pho and summer rolls and salads.

I'm telling you, go here and get the duck soup. It's FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. I've never had anything else there since I ordered that the first time I came and was floored. The decor isn't great, but the food more than makes up for it. definitely try it.

The food here is fresh and delicious! The Lemongrass steak is to die for!! If placing a telephone order, make sure that you verify the order slowly. They tend to get orders mixed up or miss items because of being in a rush.

Garden rolls delight in rice paper with peanut sauce on the side. Oh yes yes yes.

Two words to remember when ordering from Viet Garden: Yum Squid. This is a delicious cold calamari appetizer that I have yet to find of comparable quality and flavor anywhere else. I schedule my visits to Florida to include a stopover for this dish. Which usually means I skip over Little Saigon down the street -- but for those who live in or near Orlando you have two great restaurant choices for Vietnamese/Thai food.

Great place with delicous food and a freindly staff. rolls, soups, salads, entrees all very good. Pricing is reasonable and the menu is posted online for takeout ordering. try it.

We stopped in here to grab lunch and just raved over the specialties served in this wonderful establishment! What an array of delicacies-if you love viet-eats-go here! It's definitely for the more sophisticated, worldly taste connoisseurs!

Sweet! Found a really decent vietnamese place. Had the usual summer rolls with peanut sauce and a bowl of Pho. Both were really good. They Pho had a lot more beef in it that some of the other places in the area. Really enjoyed that. Will definitely go again. Also, the place was very clean and the staff was friendly.

YUM. I've been craving good pho more than anything else. I can eat it everyday. The pho here is pretty good . I was kinda sad because the extra hotness (temperature) of the soup overcooked my pho and it went soft as I was eating. We ordered egg rolls and there were really good too. How come the places I've gone to out side of Cali don't have the lettuce and fish sauce? These egg rolls came with sweet and sour. ?! Maybe they ran out. 4stars!

It's clean and the wait staff is helpful. Food is not expensive. I have visited this place several times over the 10 years I have lived in Central Florida and the food has been consistent. It isn't the best but it isn't the worst. I don't know if the Chinese guy still owns the place, but the pho did taste better when I saw him there. (Not sure if he sold it or there is a different cook.)

Delicious. Cold day (45 degrees!) but summer rolls & rich peanut sauce warm the taste buds. Beef pho spot on.

Liked this place, went there on 9/8/08 for lunch. Staff was cool, food was darn good. I had soup with clear noodles that had an assortment of stuff in it, a real crap claw, a couple won-tons, slices of pork. Wished I would've waited to see what everyone else in the place ordered. As I checked out the other diners, I noticed just about every table had a dish of fried noodles that was in a rectangle shape, stacked with seafood, and vegatables. I wish I ordered that, it looked so good. Check out the website, its pictured there. The restroom was clean, so was everthing else. I'll go back.

One of my favorite places for Vietnamese food. The best spring rolls in town with an awesome peanut dipping sauce. I have been there multiple times and love their viet food. I've never had their Thai so I don't have any comment about that. My favorite is the bun gai oui tet nun. Im sure its spelt wrong but it's rice noodles with spring rolls. Soooooo good!

This was one of the restaurants I put on my list of places to eat when we were in Orlando to visit Mickey. Unfortunately, the Yelp reviews did not live up to our expectations. The place is clean and offers free wifi but the food was...plain and boring. My wife and I ordered the dishes we usually order when we go to the restaurants in NYC/NJ....spring rolls, grilled pork chop on rice and seafood noodle soup. The spring rolls were greasy and skin was flaky but nothing special...more like a Chinese dim sum spring roll, not like other Vietnamese restaurants where their rolls are deep fried and the skin is all blistery and crunchy. The grilled pork chop wasn't too tasty and a little fatty. Not enough rice came with it and only some sour veggies...it was a like 6-7 slivers of carrots and daikon and one slice of cucumber too. Lame. My wife's seafood noodle soup consisted of 4 shrimps and some fake crab meat....that was it....they did give her a plate of bean sprouts and mint leaves & chili peppers but that wasn't even a real meal. We only came here because our first choice...Thai House, down the road was not open for lunch on weekends. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but I think these would be staples.....would not come back to this place again.

Best grilled pork & rice combo on Colonial Drive! Generous portions, perfect Vietnamese iced coffee. Very big menu complete with lots of both Vietnamese & Thai food. My favorite Asian choice in Orlando. Just visited again. Updating because I can now confirm their Thai food is outstanding as well. Ordered Thai hot Panang curry, which was creamy, flavorful, with generous amounts of beef & vegetables. Lots of delicious choices whether you go with Vietnamese or Thai. Almost next door to Mamak's another great Asian option. Definitely the best block for great Asian cuisine in all of Orlando; try them all!

Love, love, love Viet Garden. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and the food never disappoints. I hardly ever order pho from here anymore as I always, always have to get their Tom Yum soup. It's just that delicious. I also almost always order the Banh Xeo (no bean sprouts--can't stand 'em.) DH usually orders the Rice Vermicelli bowl with the grilled pork, egg roll, and shrimp with extra nuoc cham. We never leave feeling dissatisfied or disappointed.

Used to be very crowded but lots of tables were empty which was very surprising for a Friday night. It had been many months since I had last been there but the food was as good as it has always been and possibly better than the previous owner. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Since the first owner was still there. To their credit the staff has been a staple. The servers have been there through the management changes and even though we may have not returned for a year due to logistics, they still remembered us. The service has always been good. I had the Tom Yom soup which was better this time than previous times. I am spoiled because I use theirs as my standard and have yet to find one that compares. I also had the lemon chicken garden rolls that were so good it tempted me to order more. We then shared the Phad Thai which comes with chicken and shrimp and was also very good. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the bathroom facilities could have been cleaner. No paper towels in the dispenser and a broken down old hand dryer. Poorly maintained.

This restaurant has been a staple of my childhood. This restaurant has been here since I can remember. The Vietnamese food here is top notch. It is frequented by many Vietnamese families, a sure sign that the food is authentic and of good quality. I normally order the pho and it's probably the best I have ever had in Orlando. The beef is very tasty and tender. Service is good and they accept all major credit cards!

No matter how I try to debunk Viet Garden as my favorite Vietnese in Orlando by trying other places, I never succeed. My favorite thing about this place- their sauces. Their chicken cashew but is the best I've ever had. Try the summer rolls! Again the best I've ever tried, the peanut sauce is amazing! I took my family from out of town here once and every time they get local they want to come back! The interior is a little dated, but look past it, you'll love the food and the service is consistently good!

Great tasting food , prompt servers ,and clean facility. Two choices of ethnic cuisine: Thai or Vietnamese. I dine here at least once a month, and it's always a good experience. Love the price too- good quality food and they don't skimp on the portion size , either.

Mmmmm, love me some Vietnamese food! I had the chance to check out Viet Garden yesterday and left full and happy. The service was great- not obtrusive at all. The server helped me decide to go with the BBQ pork summer rolls and it was a fantastic choice because they were SO flavorful and light at the same time. Viet Garden keeps it simple in terms of the presentation. There were no fancy frills on the plate or unnecessary garnishes- and that was fine by me. Next I got a bit risky and ordered the Tom Kah Kai chicken (Coconut-based soup). The server was a bit taken back and let me know that it's a sour soup, but I've had a similar soup in other Vietnamese restaurants so I stuck with it. Unfortunately, his hesitation was pretty accurate as this one was legit sour and the smell and unusual taste was just not for me. I passed it along to my boyfriend and he gladly guzzled the whole thing down and really seemed to enjoy it. I then did the annoying girlfriend thing and commandeered his plate - the #44, Grilled Chicken with fresh lemon served with rice vermicelli. He had asked for a side of peanut sauce and I added a bit of that and hoisin sauce (the black/brown sauce on the table) It was delish! Overall a great light lunch, but next time I'll take the server's hesitation a bit more seriously! ;)

We have been to a few of the Vietnamese restaurants here in Orlando, and this is one of our favorites. The parking is behind the building off mills & 50, you can either go in from there or walk to the front. Every time we have been here the service is always good and fast. Their Pho is really good and usually they add the meats, but you can request for them to bring raw for you to add yourself. Their potstickers & dipping sauce is amazing they have great flavors that will leave you wanting more. Prices are good for the amount of food you receive, and you may even leave with some leftovers like me because i can never eat it all.

  • Brooks B.

I found this restaurant to be quite delicious. Structurally it can use a few touch ups, but not there for the decor. The food was awesome. Quick and friendly service. Reasonably-priced. Kid friendly. Back to the food... I tried several dishes as we ordered several entrées and shared them, I must say that I truly enjoyed every bite from every dish... the sauces they make for the dishes are to die for and don't worry they will give you mounds of rice on the side to sopp up all that yummy goodness. Definitely give it a try, you'll be back I guarantee it.

This place is nice but don't waste your time and money to order pho in here. Their pho and other VNmese soup was tasteless like noodle with water. No real VNmese foods. Never come back, Good Luck on your business if you have a better chef , and Have a Nice Day. Thank You

  • J Fav M.

Beef pho was pretty good and though pad sew eew was tastier than it actually looked. Summer rolls were pretty dry and the peanut sauce was too sweet and tasted like a store-bought sauce.

Great pho. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. The staff is very attentive. Besides the garden rolls being a little small I would absolutely come back. Great dinner.

  • Ray S.

Had the pad Thai and it wasn't good. I don't even know why they call it pad Thai because it looked nothing like pad Thai. Just a slop of noodles and some chicken and shrimp. Also I wouldn't get the ice water to drink, they fill the pitcher up from the sink behind the cash register. They could of at least put a filter on the faucet or something.

I went to Viet Garden after reading a bunch of great reviews on Yelp but was disappointed especially after dining at Pho 88 the other night. In general, my experience there was much better. I ordered summer rolls and fried spring rolls to start. Although the spring rolls were much tastier than the ones I sampled at Pho 88, their summer rolls were inferior. I do have to give them props for their peanut sauce though. Much more flavorful than the bland peanut sauce at Pho 88. I got chicken pho for my entree, but also got to taste my mom's stir-fried lemongrass chicken dish. The pho was disappointing. The broth tasted kind of funny, and there weren't enough noodles. The stir fry was pretty tasty though. If you want to get good pho, check out Pho 88, but if you're in the mood for vietnamese cuisine (ie. stir-fry, etc.), go to Viet Garden. I feel bad only giving this place three stars because the waitstaff for super friendly and attentive, but the food really could've been better. Maybe it was just an off night? Or maybe I'm just super picky, haha.

I brung 2 first Time Pho Eaters here, they cleaned their bowls, delicious!!!!!!! They added the sprouts, the basil, the cilantro, a squeeze of lime and a generous squirt of Saracha and it was on.

This was my first time there. I would leave 3.5stars if I could. But can't do 4. I ordered the fried sprig rolls and wanted vegetarian but got shrimp and pork. I ate it not wanting to wait for more. As far as spring rolls are concerned they had great flavor. I also ordered the Green curry with chicken. I have had a lot of green curry from many different places and this was one of my least favorite. The sauce itself was very very thick, almost gelatinous. I am not sure if they added a ton of corn starch or what but it took away from the coconut and curry flavor. Also, the chicken tasted obviously frozen. My friend's spicy beef soup was extremely spicy and very flavorful. I'd recommend that dish if you go.

Awesome Curry & SS chicken. Yummy! Best we've had of both. Highly recommend this joint.

The food tasted fine. On the bottom of the menu it said "If you have an extreme reaction to MSG, please speak to the staff." So I told them what I wanted, and said I was sensitive to MSG, and asked if that would be OK? Can they just make it without it? The waiter said "Yes." Well, there was definitely MSG in the meal. I got a headache right on schedule. At first I had appreciated that they noted it on their menu, but I ended up being very upset that they had not honored my wishes!

Quick service, filling food, what more can you ask? -Thai Iced Tea was ok- a little watered down? Not as strong as I like. -(41a) Grilled Combo Rice Vermicelli- good, although I should've asked for more of their fish sauce. Filled the craving, at least. -(25) Saigon Combo Rice Noodle Soup- I tasted a little bit of Dad's broth- flavorful. Was quite full at that point so I didn't get to try more.

My family had never had Vietnemese food before so we decided to be adventurous and try Viet Garden on our recent trip to Orlando. Started with the Vietnemese appetizer sampler (2 for the 5 of us) which we all agreed was delicious - the peanut sauce is amazing, as other reviewers say. I got Pho, the one with medium rare flank steak and I loved it. Huge portion and I couldn't finish all the noodles (unheard of for this carb-o-holic) but I did slurp down all the broth and eat all the steak. Unfortunately the rest of my party was not very happy with their meals, which were various chicken and beef dishes from the Vietnemese section of the menu. This is why I bumped down my review a star, but I think it had more to do with their tastes than the food itself. For my meal at least, I feel like we got a very good value and overall everyone agreed we had friendly service.

We revisited an old favorite today, and it was just as I remember. Clean dining room. Very tasty food made with fresh vegetables. Attentive service, but not pushy or obtrusive. A knowelegable waiter. Very friendly prices. We had the roast duck with vermicelli, the grilled shrimp with rice noodles, and delicious summer rolls made with clear rice wrappers and a sweet peanut dipping sauce. The meal was under $25 .00. I still recommend this place.

There are so many Vietnamese restaurants around this area and I absolutely love this place. From the food, to the SUPER fast service, to the amount of space this restaurant has, this has always been a go-to restaurant for me. Now the food isn't super special compared to the other restaurants, but I've never really been disappointed with it no matter what I ordered. I will say this: the pho has never really amazed me, but it's average. The broth could use a little more flavor and sometimes it tastes watered down. What really helps is the herbs and vegetables that come with the pho. I prefer my pho with ALOT of lime and sriracha. When I lived in Orlando whenever I stopped by, they knew me well enough to give me the extra lime. The Garden Rolls used to be really good, but they've really downsized them. They used to be fatter and the shrimp used to be bigger. But their peanut sauce is AMAZING. There have been a couple of times where I've asked them for a to-go portion and they've given me a half pint container to take home. This restaurant also offers Thai dishes, but their thai menu is limited and they only have the basic items available. The Pad See Ew beef is really good although different than other thai restaurants. Whatever sauce they use is lighter, thinner, and a bit sweeter. There's an appetizer called Fried Steamed Cake (which they call rice cake but is actually taro cake) that I've heard is not offered in many vietnamese restaurants but is very good. Try it out for a different spin on your appetizer! Overall, this may not be my first choice if I was in the mood for pho, but it's a good place to go for everything else. With such a big menu, you can't go wrong with the food!

Best Thai food in/around Orlando! As you can see from just a few of my reviews, I love and have eaten a bunch of Thai food. My family and I used to eat here about 10-15 years ago. I recently moved down here, and after far more experience with both Thai Vietnamese, Viet Garden is GREAT! I had Tom Yum soup and, while really spicy (the way it should be but no others are like), it was the best I've ever had. I also had the Pad See Ew, which is my go to dish to test every Thai place. Again, the best I've ever had. Plus, the service was great and the prices extremely reasonable. It is a bit of a drive for me but I will be making it from now on.

Fantastic food! Had the spicy soup and Pad Thai noodles, delicious! Suggest parking in the back and coming through the rear entrance. Try to sit near the window, it gives a romantic air to the dining experience. It was hard to believe we were on the same Colonial Dr that we had traveled for decades.

Stop by at Viet Garden because we were starving. Price and food was descent. We were there around 3pm. Restaurant was empty maybe due to the rainy weather. Service was exceptional. Order 3 bowl of phos. Probably the best one we ever had in Florida, but we only went to three places.

This was the first place I ever ate and tried Viet food since I was small. My family has been going here for years and it's still my favorite. What better place and combo that has both my favorite types of food, Vietnamese and Thai! That right there is a win in my book! The staff is really nice and they attend to you quickly. Service here is pretty fast, which never fails me. The place is well kept and very spacious. I'm glad the staff knows me here so they pretty much know my order unless I switch it up. Some of my favorite dishes are the Garden Roll Delight, which is really good especially when you dip them into the peanut. DELICIOUS! Chicken satay is also really good! The peanut sauce that goes with it is super addicting and the side cucumber salad is also good. As for the Viet entree's I love the Pho here, but what makes the Pho extra yummy is adding the extra condiments to it such as the Hoison sauce, Sriracha, basil leaves, and lime. Their beef fried rice is what I call the coma plate. There is something in the way they season and cook the entree that I love and crave for if I want fried rice. SOOOO good! Now for Thai entree's. I like getting the Chicken Ho Mok, because that coconut milk mixed in with curry is just absolute BOMB! I also like getting the Pad Thai. This place holds a special place in my tummy and heart. hah. But I love coming here and it never disappoints me.

  • Jeff K.

Let me get this out of the way: the Garden Rolls (what would be called Summer Rolls at most other places) are the best I think I've ever had. The peanut sauce that accompanies them matches (or possibly exceeds, I don't know) the quality of the sauce served at my other favorite place for summer rolls, Little Saigon across the street. Normally the pho is my meal of choice, but this last time I decided to order a noodle dish off of the Thai section of the menu. I forget what it was called. I know that helps you a lot, but hey -- it was delicious! The shrimp toast appetizer, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like, is another worthy dish. But what you really need to get (in addition to the garden rolls, you have to get those too) is the Yum Squid appetizer. It's a sort of salad with squid, mixed with thin slices of mango and some other stuff, with just a touch of heat. It is aptly named. Yum. Squid.

This place has a very authentic feel, it has the best peanut sauce too. I eat here as often as I can, service is very quick and always had a good meal here. I've tried several other places and i find Viet Garden to be the one I like best.

Its really hard comparing Lac Viet to Viet Garden. I have no idea why. Lac Viet might have better decor, but there is something to be said about Viet Garden's food. Its very good. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. I think for 2 beers and two entrees, we made it out of there spending under $30. Viet Garden's employees were pleasant, but Lac Viet's might be a little more personable. Thats not necessarily a dig at Viet Garden, just an observation. I did really enjoy this restaurant.

This is Fiancee's favorite Vietnamese spot.... and I must agree that it is VERY good! You can get well executed Thai and Vietnamese food at this establishment. The hardest part is deciding what you're going to have. Best of both worlds is to have a couple of people who are willing to share, and order a few things off of each side of the menu. As I'm feeling under the weather, I ordered the chicken soup with rice noodles. Ok, I even ordered extra noodles... yummy! Just a clear rich chicken broth, full of noodles, a few pieces of thinly sliced chicken breast, and whatever veggies and herbs you added from the plate they brought you. Can't say I feel any better, but it was super tasty! To start Small Fry and I shared a summer roll made with tofu. The peanut dipping sauce is a little too thick and sweet for me, but it was very good, especially when treated with lashings of the sriracha sauce from the bottle on the table. Service was a bit off, and had to ask for water several times. I already know what I want to order next time!

I used to love this place. Until I got served pho with a BANDAID in it. Yes a bandaid was in my soup. No words can explain how upset and disgusted I was when I was half way through my soup and discovered it. I'm also well aware the the broth for pho is used for all the pho soups on the menu and that all of the people in there eating soup with me had contaminated bandaid broth! I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!!

First of all, I had order beef laad na and it was so salty that I had to send it back and when the waiter brought it back it was still salty even my daughter didn't even eat it. On top of that the waiter was so rude about it came back and told me that how they made there sauce. Never again I will go back!!! And it didn't even taste like Laad na to top it off.

I should have gone to Pho 88. Not impressed at all with their pho.We got lemon chicken spring rolls which were very good. The pho was what we really came for and that was where things began to take a nose dive. We both got beef flank and rare steak. The broth lacked any flavor at all. None of the complex marrow infused flavors that pho is known for. My wife found a chicken leg in hers (remember, we both ordered beef) and I found a chunk of tripe in mine. We were the only people here, so I was confused as to what was going on in the kitchen. Afterwards I went to the men's room and it was disgusting. I honestly had to hold my breath to keep from passing out from the stench. ugh. I shall not return.

Not bad but nothing special. The fried rolls are petty mehish! Really thin and tasted too much like an egg roll for my taste. The fish sauce was basic. The summer roll was OK but not special. The paper was too gooey, the peanut sauce wasn't creamy, almost looked solid. There isn't sirracha and if that red tube actually is sirracha then it must have been watered down because it came out like water. The soup was OK but the broth was lacking in depth. The noodles were pretty decent but pretty meg overall. The soup didn't come with the side plate of veggies off the bat, I had to ask for them. Not sure if that was normal or a mistake.

Want to try something different when visiting Orlando? Tired of going to typical tourist area restaurants? You must try Viet Garden located near downtown Orlando in "Vietnamese Town". It is located downtown Orlando and can take about 35 - 45 minutes with traffic. I would recommend visiting the restaurant during lunch or early dinner time to avoid the traffic. I found this place in Yelp about three years ago. I have been coming to Viet Garden ever since as other places does not match the food selection options and taste. Their peanut sauce for their appetizers are the best! I could just drink the sauce as it was very tasty and it goes with everything. I like the BBQ Pork rolls and the Ha Noi Noodle soup (Rice noodle soup with beef, rare steak, brisket, tendon, beef balls and tripe). There is parking in the back or in the front of the restaurant. Park in the rear as it is free. Look for the Viet Garden back entrance. Enjoy!

My family and I have been coming here every time we visit Orlando, FL. There are not many viet restaurants that stick out to me, and you can probably see where I'm going with this. This one sticks out. It actually has really good food and isn't mediocre like most viet restaurants. The service is not out of the ordinary in the viet restaurant world; not bad, not superb. I highly suggest getting the Banh Bot Chien appetizer; it's one of the best I've ever had! Anyways.. What I would complain about is the parking. You either park in the street in front of the restaurant or in the back where at night it looks like you're going to get shot.

Food was good. One time I noticed my bank statement shows a different amount than what I signed on my check, the waiter added extra tip for himself (he was a new waiter there). I called the restaurant to give them a chance to fix it, which I was told they would but it was never corrected.

I always wondered what my first would be like.... Would she recognize my lack of experience? Would i think it was awesome even though it will be the worst one going forward? Would it be in the back of my car? Would i use a magnum because the wrapping had gold lettering and looked cool, then realize this was entirely un-neccessary? I'm glad to say...no...i think. My first Vietnamese meal was definitely something to remember. Something to cherish. Something to tell all my buddies so that they would finally think i was cool. The suddle flavor profiles in the broth alone is worthy of a prize. The adding of fresh leaves, jalapeno peppers, and bamboo shoots just kept makeing it even more mysterious and flavorful. I go the medium rare steak and flank. I thought it would be flank steak, but it seemed more cartilage like (i thought it was tendon), so i worry what the tendon is like when you order it. It was still good, even with the added "texture" i'm not usually a fan of. The misses had the grilled pork bun. It was awesome, and i Love me some fish sauce now. So complex yet so mellow, stuff dreams are made of. Would this lead to me always lusting over Pho? Will i be getting my Pho on alone when no one else is around? Probably. For my first, it was outstanding. Will i find another Vietnamese place that teaches me some new tricks, probably. BUT it will be a little while for me to not go to Viet Garden again for a round two and three.

My family and I always make a stop at a Vietnamese restaurant when we pass through/go to Orlando because they have some really good ones there. Out of the few restaurants I've tried in Orlando, this one is probably my favorite. The parking is in the back for anyone who's never been to that shopping plaza. Food has always been fresh and service has never been bad, even on the busy days/nights. Their menu has such variety! Lots of Thai options and even a couple vegetarian dishes. They split their "meats" for those non-pork/non-seafood/non-beef eaters. As an appetizer, I love their summer rolls (goi cuon) or fried rice cake (bot chien). The fried spring rolls (cha gio) are pretty good, but I've had better. The boba smoothies aren't the best; I'll probably give them an average rating. I rather save my craving for smoothies and go across the street to the Chewy Boba (Lollicup) after my meal ! The walking is good for me (especially after a heavy/hating-myself meal, lol). I would recommend the three color drink with coconut milk (che bau mau) if you like bean drinks or if you like to try new/different things.

Having being spoiled for so long on Seattle Pho, I have looked long and hard for some good Pho in Orlando. Finally, after trying out several restaurants I can finally say I have found a very good bowl of Pho in O-town. Came here late on a Tuesday night and the place was almost empty but the service was great. Whenever I'm having Pho and I don't need to ask for water refills, you're earning brownie points. We started with a shrimp garden roll that was pretty tasteless. Not a great start but that wasn't our main focus anyway. I ordered a Pho Ga (chicken) and was happy to get a huge bowl of hot Pho. The broth (crucial part!) was tasty, the white chicken meat was perfect, and the noodles were great (not too hard, not too soft). On top of this, the Pho was only around $6! Might have find my place for my constant Pho cravings.

Man, I've been eating a lot of Asian food lately...but I like that! We sampled a few goodies from the Thai menu and had their version of hu tiue. The Yum squid salad was very tasty and refreshing and came loaded with squid. Prig curry with beef was served in a generous portion, and had a unique and enjoyable flavor. The hu tieu wasn't the best around, but was certainly good. Overall, I was happy with it and I'd definitely come back

Pass unless a back-up place. Can't compare to some of the local competition. I've eaten their twice recently. The first time I had the Thai basil and although small in portion which is pretty typical Thai, it was tasty. Not mind blowing like other Thai places in the city. This last time we ate there on Christmas day because our other choice was packed with a wait out the door. Three of us had the stir-fry buns and one had the Thai Cashew chicken. Everything was passable, but just barely. The buns simply did not have enough vegies in them. The meat was too tough and the pieces too large to eat. The shrimp did not have their tales removed. The cashew chicken came in a thick pungent red sauce and had ONE cashew. No Joke. I'd pass the next time.

Let me begin by saying that I love Asian food, and I've been specifically craving Vietnamese food lately. I can't get enough of the vibrant flavors and crispy textures. The bún (rice vermecelli) is my favorite, but pho is always a popular choice depending on what mood I'm in. The grilled pork bùn (#47) at Viet Garden was very good, not the absolute best I've ever had, but for $6.95 it could be hard to beat, and it comes with 2 summer (or spring) rolls, while many others I've had only come with one. My friend got the beef pho (#21) and that was extraordinary. The broth had a great depth of flavor, combined with super flavorful meats and herbs - I might be ordering this for myself next time. Service is super-friendly and fast (and very good english which helps out a lot when looking to try something new). Restaurant is nice and clean, nothing spectacular about the ambiance but I was more concerned with the food.

One of my old standbys. Average prices, delicious food, great service. I usually order the same dish when I go here. I'm not super adventurous when ordering here because the vegetarian Buddhas Crispy Noodle Delight is so amazing and just some of the best comfort food evar. Their Pho is also really delicious and I've come to the conclusion that their vegetarian summer rolls are the best in town [they even beat out my favorite Thai restaurant's rolls], served with a very sugary sweet peanut sauce that sends me over the moon. I've tried the Panang, but didn't really like it too much. The Chicken Ho Mok is really great, though, and is a rather larger portion. Viet Garden is definitely high up on my list of places to get some delicious healthy-esque food!

Hands down best pho in Orlando. Stop reading reviews and go there!! They don't have a vegetarian pho with veggie broth on the menu but they will make it if you ask. Also, the pan fried noodles with veggies and tofu is so good, in case pho doesn't tickle your fancy. If you want desert, get a taro bubble tea.

This is my go to restaurant for Vietnamese cuisine. Their garden rolls make an appearance at my table every time I visit. I have tried a substantial portion of their menu and cannot decide what my favorite item is. The best part is they make things to order and can customize your meals. I have never had a bad experience here. Their staff is always friendly, their service is always quick. If only all restaurants could be this way.

I ordered some kind of fried lobster when I dined here with several friends, I was shocked when the food was served because the lobster had been fried and smothered in sauce, but was still completely in the shell. Completely embarrassed because I had no idea how to eat the food on my plate, I ended up eating the noodle soup that my friend had ordered. I never would have ordered the lobster if I knew it was server in the shell, everything else we ordered was absolutely delicious.

This is a mom-and-pop place in the heart of the Asian district of Orlando. They serve Thai and Vietnamese food with a huge menu. There's more Asian families in here as opposed to Sea Thai which is more like a white people-date- kinda thing. You can park behind the restaurant. Huge parking lot. I say this because we kept parking at Publix and walking over (even though there's a sign saying not to) because who can try to park on insanely busy Colonial Drive? You have to drive down the street with the medical business and park behind it. Super fast service. Every single time we get our food in 10-15 minutes. Pretty large. It's probably one of the largest restaurants out of the multitude of restaurants on Colonial. It stands out during the holidays because they will decorate the outside. Pretty casual place for families and tshirt and jeans people. They have some plasma screens up on the wall to watch TV. It's clean and spacious. The workers tend to sit around or the family. It is so cheap, the food fills you up every time and it's fresh. I always get the Thom Yum soup. I get a small but it is so large that I can almost never finish it. I can't imagine what the large looks like! I like that it's spicy but you don't know that it's that spicy until you stop a second and then it hits you. You also never realize how filling it is until you leave and soup never fills me up. Sometimes the family is sitting around and says "Thank you" as you walk out. They seem nice. They aren't friendly really but service is always receptive and quick.

This is our go-to place for takeout. I love that we have both Vietnamese and Thai dishes to choose from. I have tried a lot of the menu and favorite dishes are the garden rolls (killer peanut sauce), squid salad (spicy and delicious), and the crispy noodle dishes. The Thai curries are pretty good, too. Agree with others that you can get better pho in town but the stuff here still hits the spot. I think I've only ever eaten in here once and it was years ago so I can't speak to that experience but everyone who works there is super friendly when I stop in to pick up my order. Good stuff.

I've eaten here over the years dozens of times. All my friends like it too. It's very good, my favorite dish even though I'm not a vegetarian is Crispy Noodle Delight which has a huge rectangle of fried ramen sized noodles with delicious vegetables in a sweet brown sauce on top, it also has a delicious tofu in it. Their Summer rolls are good too. It's a pretty place and the staff is pleasant. I ate here again a couple days ago and I had the Ho Mak with beef which is a rich thick red curry, it was one of the most delicious things I have ever had. I am so lucky i tried it, the bowl was huge. Go try it NOW! You must.

Viet Garden is a long-time favorite. I almost always order a pho, but wanting to try something different, and trying to maintain my new almost-vegetarian diet, I chose #113, Buddha's Crispy Noodle Delight ("Mi Chay Xaoo Doon"), crispy noodle-fried tofu with mixed vegetables. I'm no expert on tofu, but this tofu seemed to have an excellent texture and taste. The crispy noodles that weren't yet sunken into the broth were indeed crispy and flavorful. And the vegetables, including broccoli and cauliflower, were cooked just right for my tastes. I would order it again for sure. But with a menu so vast, it's hard not to want to explore other delights here as well.

My husband and I have been slowly making the rounds of the multitude of Vietnamese restaurants in the area in an effort to determine our favorite. The other day we tried Viet Garden for the first time and were really quite pleased with the outcome. The restaurant was kitschy enough in its décor yet still very clean. As Marty likes to describe it, having traveled in Asia and eaten in the local restaurants there, it was missing that authentic Asian ambiance (translated funky smell). Frankly, I am OK with that. But I digress. The service at Viet Garden was quite friendly and attentive. Our server was readily eager to offer a big smile and I listened as he patiently reviewed some menu items for a nearby table of Vietnamese food "newbies". I appreciate this because I found the entire process of ordering rather daunting the first time I went into one of these restaurants. When I eat at a new Italian restaurant I often judge them by their eggplant Parmesan. My measuring stick for the food at Vietnamese restaurants has been the Pho. Here I orderd a bowl of the beef pho with brisket and flank steak. The side of greens and sprouts that our server brought to the table were nice and bright and fresh. The broth had complexity and depth of flavor. There was a decent helping of tasty meat and plenty of rice noodles. Marty got a bowl of beef pho with everything and so I tasted one of his meatballs. It had the chewiness of a typical beef ball but and it was nicely balanced with flavor. At other places recently the meatballs have been disappointing by being either very bland or having left a really odd almost chemical aftertaste. Neither of which was very pleasant. So I give Viet Garden two thumbs up. As we continue to narrow down our list toward our favorite Pho place, Viet Garden will hold a place near the top.

Overall: Great summer rolls and peanut sauce. Like many Yelpers have stated in their reviews, the summer rolls (or as they call them Garden Rolls) and peanut sauce are to die for. The peanut sauce tastes so peanuty and full of flavor I wanted to stick my finger in the bowl to get all the sauce into my gob. Yum! For my entree I order Buddha's Delight. It was a standard fried tofu and vegetables dish. I will definitely be back for the summer rolls!

I go to a lot of Vietnamese restaurant all over ,this is one of the best. you can not go wrong going her. right from airport we came over. not to far from the Orlando airport. 3 of use eat so much food it was hard to walk out and the bill was $37.00 the best Vietnamese ICED COFFEE in Orlando. we had TOM KAH KAI and VIEÄT GARDEN HAÛI SAÛN and NAÊM MOÙN AÊN CHÔI I wish i was thare now. good service too nice people.

They only offer one-size pho bowls and they're actually pretty pricey. They give so little noodle and a lot of broth for their pho. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was okay. I'd go somewhere else.

I ate here with friends prior to the Magic vs. Bulls game on Saturday, which had been the second--and most recent--time I'd visited this restaurant having first dined here back in 2008--an experience I forgot about until I stopped and thought about its location just now. A number of people have claimed this to be the best Vietnamese place in Orlando, but I am not so sure. The spring rolls, yes, are very good. We also though had the shrimp toast and it wasn't as tasty as I've had in many Chinese restaurants in the past. My main dish was the Macadamia Chicken--a dish I've actually fixed at home via a similar recipe--and I was not at all impressed. While the serving was ample, the peanut sauce had an odd, almost bitter, taste to it and the chicken was totally overpowered. The macadamia nuts had been scattered atop the dish and as I said above, the sauce tasted like a typical Thai peanut sauce which somehow was watered down to make more fluid yet tasted very bitter and odd. All you really could taste was this sauce--not the chicken or anything else. Since we were in a hurry to get back downtown for the game, I didn't bother sending this dish back but under normal circumstances would have. My friends however seemed pleased with what they ordered, which were in both cases Viet rice platters with pork or beef. I will have try Viet Garden again: I don't remember enough from my 2008 dinner here to write a proper review based on that, but I do recall it being better than the unfortunate Macadamia Chicken of my more recent experience. The service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant is clean, I can say that. Also, the menu is extensive. Certainly, they're worth another try sometime.

My brother and his girlfriend were visiting and really wanted Vietnamese food, so we decided to try a place that was new for us all. I chose Viet Garden because of the rave reviews about the summer rolls. While I have to say that the rice paper was amazingly soft, I was really disappointed by the rest of it. I had only two sad little basil leaves in each of the rolls, and they were bunched together at one end, so I had to steal basil from my husband's pho plate to make up for it. Plus, there were only two small shrimps and a minuscule amount of flavorless pork in the rolls as well. I will say that the peanut sauce was awesome and so I slathered it all over what should be called rice noodle rolls. On to the main dishes... I ordered the pork on rice, and the pork was very flavorful so I enjoyed that, but the rice was a bit on the hard side. Everyone else ordered different pho dishes and said that it was pretty good, but just very oily. The ambiance is nice (although as someone mentioned, there are hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere, which I thought was very odd), the food came out quickly, and the staff is helpful and friendly. However, given the many other Vietnamese options around, I probably won't be coming back here again.

I loves me some pho ga. I recently had to find a different Vietnamese place for pho ga because a friend of mine had a horrible experience at the other place we used to go to. So I checked out Viet Garden on Yelp and since it received positive reviews my friend and I checked it out. Everyone is incredibly friendly. The place is very clean and there's plenty of space between the tables. Another thing I thought was strange but SO FANTASTIC? There are Purell Sanitizer dispensers all over. The pho ga? Delish. Went back a second time the night after our first visit. Service is fast and friendly. And the summer rolls are also yum. I think I found my new Vietnamese restaurant!

Viet Garden is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It is located in Viet Town Colonial and Mills. Viet Garden is located in an older strip mall that has several Vietnamese restaurants including Little Saigon. We have tried the others but we always come back to Viet Garden as the best. The restaurant is decorated with faux banana plants and faux orchids. The walls are covered with idealized paintings of Vietnam with a strange purple cast. The business here is usually quite brisk. The owner Charlie is always friendly and smiling. He tells of the labor involved in making the soups (Pho) 9 hours everyday of cooking the broth. The menu is extensive and includes a Thai section as well. My favorite dish is #44 "Grilled Chicken with Fresh Lemon severed with rice vermicelli and vegetables (Bun Ga Nuong Chanh)". This dish has strips of grilled marinated chicken on top of rice vermicelli. There are sliced cucumbers, bean sprouts, and julienne carrots on the side. The dish comes with a fish sauce mixture with sliced carrots on the side it is topped off with chopped peanuts. This is mixed with Vietnamese host sauce and poured over the dish to add some heat and a sweet tangy flavor. This is one of my most favorite dishes at any restaurant. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is nice. This is a favorite place to eat.

Who knew Orlando had a ton of Vietnamese restaurants? Who knew these restaurants were great?! We were very tired and cold after Universal Studios and wanted some hot soup to warm ourselves. The place was great- very clean with friendly staff. The broth was one of the best I have tasted and reasonably priced- a little under $7. Check it out!

I can't say I tried many dishes here. I was hungry for something spicy, and so I ordered the spicy chili chicken. It befuddled me. I was expecting something red hot, but it was rather a sweet, viscous sauce. Chicken was added, along with chopped jalapeno slices. Nothing spectacular. However, apparently they are known for their pho, and so I'll give that a go next time!

My family and I were in Florida for the week after one week at sea. Literally at sea, we were on a cruise. We decided to extend our stay in Orlando to visit Universal Studios and DisneyWorld's Epcot. It was a colder day so we all wanted some pho. And, we love pho. We initially chose Viet Garden because of the reviews on Yelp. Now, I've tried everything that could possibly be put in a bowl of pho: meatballs, tendons, brisket, flank, well-done, raw, hell, I'm Chinese- of course I've tried everything. I've found that the key to great pho is in the broth. However, there was just something off about Viet Garden's broth; it was oddly sweet. And more importantly, it didn't make my nose run, which is the number one sign for delicious, jaw-dropping broth. I even tried to add more hoison sauce, sriracha, basil, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapenos to my broth to mask the sweetness, but nothing worked. I did suck it up and at least finished my noodles because i'm not about to waste a bowl of pho. Spring rolls were pretty good though, but it's pretty hard to mess up noodles, lettuce, and shrimp wrapped in rice paper. But the broth is just the one thing that's going to keep me from coming back. Maybe it's because I'm used to a more greasy, savory, salty broth for my pho. Or maybe it was just my mistake for going to a Vietnamese restaurant that also sells Thai food.

If you're craving Thai--go elsewhere. I recommend Sea Thai and Thai House both of which are within a mile or two from Viet Garden. If you want Vietnamese, give it a try!! This is also a great place for large groups!! The Spring Rolls are great and the dipping sauce is sweet with a touch of spice. The soups come in hearty portions...a small is really like a large and the large bowl is enough 2-3 people, especially if you're ordering an entree. The Tom Yum soup is different than anywhere else I've ever tried and I've tried Thai in every city I've visited. It's thicker and has a different texture. In most places the soup is more delicate with a lighter more lemony broth and a variety of vegetables--namely celery, onion and bell pepper. Viet garden offers you a choice of meat accompanied by mushrooms. It's sweet but not as sour as it traditionally is. The Thai Cashew Nut dish is bland whereas it should be spicy, sweet and savory!! Both the chicken and tofu are rubbery. The Pad See Ew left much to be desired and required me to douse my dish in Siracha and a bit of soy sauce. Reheated later, it was delicious. As for their Vietnamese cuisine, their Pho Noodle Soups are pretty good and their Lemongrass Chicken with Chili Dish was aromatic and flavorful. Their Three Color Drink with Coconut Milk is delicious!!! Definitely try it if you're craving a refreshing and sweet dessert! The owner and staff are very nice. The owner likes to chat it up with guests which creates a sense of community!

We ordered one dish from the Thai menu and one dish from the Viet menu. The Pad Thai was the worst I have ever had in my life. I understand I am spoiled from living in the Bay Area, but this is ridiculous. The type of noodle was incorrect and the sauce tasted ODD. The #47 is awesome. The pork chop was juicy and well marinated. The portion was small imo.

I love that they have Vietnamese and Thai here. Frequently you'll find that smaller restaurants aren't consistent in the quality/taste of what they serve, but Viet Garden completely defies that and is amazingly consistent. It's true that the Thai tea here is not as strong as other local restaurants, but if you're looking for more than tea this is the place to go. Their Bun Bo Hue is out of this world. Deliciously spicy and HUGE. I've ordered this at other Vietnamese restaurants and so far none have surpassed Viet Garden. Their tom kha gai is super creamy, never watered down, and always a delight. The summer rolls? Forget about it. I've actually scraped the last bit of the peanut sauce and eaten it with a spoon. I don't know how they make it taste SO DARNED GOOD. The service here is good, not too pushy, and always friendly. If you go frequently they will remember you and sit you in the same place. Takeaway is just as great quality, so if you fancy a night in do yourself a favor and order some Viet Garden. The only negative would be the parking, which as a female is scary when I'm alone at night picking up some takeaway. Other than that, I absolutely love the place!

2 words- HELLA NASTY!!!! My cousin and I went down here to eat some Thai food. Granted, there is not much of a selection with Asian food down here, but we thought we would try this place out. We ordered the PAD THAI, THAI SALAD, and GREEN CURRY. 1. THAI SALAD WAS NOT SPICY, it was more like an American green salad and no green papaya- whats up with that? You can tell they put thousand island and peanut sauce on the lettuce and called it "THAI SALAD". Fricken nasty! 2.PAD THAI was too red, as if they put food coloring in the sauce to make it outrageously red. 3. The noodles were sticky as ever (over cooked) and too small, like vermicelli style. They don't know what the F*u*k they are doing.... 4. worst of all the green curry was FLORESENT GREEN- they must of put green dye in this. It was so green, it could be dark out side and I can find my way out with the green curry as my light guide. 5. THAI food is suppose to be spicy or have some kind of heat to it but this was slop. I seriously think they should just change there name to Viet , NOT VIET/ THAI RESTAURANT. They should stick to what they know. Oh, and they charge you extra for having PHO w/o MSG- what the heck. The NASTIEST place ever. No wonder why white folks down in Florida don't like to try Asian food other than Chinese- its b/c of these people that cook some powder stuff that can be easily purchased across the street to make this stuff they call "THAI" food. And with that extra charge for NO MSG in the PHO is just insulting.... Who ever put this place is good is full of shit! I have tried good Thai food and this place is not it. Unfortunately I don't know of a place near here that is.

a steaming hot bowl of Vietnamese beef soup (pho) on a 94 degree hot and humid Florida evening hit the spot like nothing else! tasty flavor on the broth and served with the requisite fresh basil, sliced jalapeno, mung bean sprouts, and lime wedges. start the meal with a spring roll made with rice noodles, rice paper mint, lettuce, and a choice of meat or veggie stuffing - grilled pork, shrimp, tofu. the spring rolls are served with a peanut dipping sauce and make a refreshing start to the meal. another winner here is the Vietnamese crepe. pan fried crispy egg battered dish with a mixture of bean sprouts, meat, and eatened with lettuce, basil, and cilantro. if you wrap the lettuce around the hot crepe and dip in the fish sauce based dip it's easier and more fun to eat. This restaurant also serves Thai dishes from the kitchen, but I did not order any dishes from that side of the menu this evening. Service was friendly and efficient. Parking was free and convienently located in the back of the restaurant. thanks to Rodney C/ Orlando based Yelper for the recommendation. Check it out!

I've been coming to Viet Garden for a number of years, and will keep coming back every time I am in the area. The great thing about this place is its diversity: it's not just a Thai or Vietnamese restaurant, is basically an all-of-southeast-Asia restaurant. Their menu has separate sections for the different cuisines, and you can order from across them, with each type of food being prepared, in my opinion, equally well. My apologies to the previous reviewer (Ellen B) for the lobster dilemma; however in most southeast Asian cuisines shellfish is often served fried, in a sauce, and in-shell (though sometimes split or quartered). Reference several Andrew Zimmern episodes. For the record, natives of these countries eat these dishes using their hands, it's not considered bad manners. I don't think the place deserves to lose stars because the reviewer ordered a dish she was not familiar with. I generally go here with my family, and while I love Asian food, I generally stick to the tamer dishes. The pad Thai is phenomenal, as is the chicken satay appetizer. The soups are large enough to be a meal in themselves; I usually order one with broad noodles, pork wontons, and mixed seafood. My parents generally order stir fry of some kind or another; they are especially fond of the cashew chicken. The menu has such diversity that you can mix it up however you like, from ordering the mildest, most standardized dishes to trying something really wild that gives you a true taste of the authentic cuisine. The service is extremely efficient and the servers are always willing to discuss anything on the menu with you. They do a ton of business around lunchtime and always keep it moving well. I think that this is the best of the many Asian restaurants in this section of Orlando, and it truly offers something to suit anyone's tastes.
