Would not take coupon. Rice was very sticky. Short on wait staff

Urban Hibachi is perfectly palatable. It's nothing amazing and there's nothing terribly wrong with their food. I had the Sashimi (8 piece) Bento Box during lunch. It comes with a spring roll, 2 pieces of shumai, white rice, a small salad with ginger dressing and miso soup. The cuts of sashimi were nicely executed and presented well. My main issue was with the check. The price listed on the menu for the Sashimi Bento Box was $12.95. My check came to me with it listed at $13.95 plus taxes. Yes, I know it's only $1 and it's not that big a deal. I notified the server of the price discrepancy and she replied, "Oh, I'll check but it's probably because the sashimi is more expensive." She took the card and supposed "checked" the pricing. Returned with my now swiped card and said , "Thank you, have a blessed day!". She should've explained what the issue was and why there was an error. If they had just updated pricing in their system, then just tell me politely. I would've understood. I don't think she handled the situation very well. Whether or not I try Urban Hibachi again is up in the air. There are plenty of other more reasonably priced lunch places in the area. Sushi Tomi is much friendlier and prices are better. For now, I'll give Urban Hibachi 2 of 5 stars. Without the check incident, I would've given them an initial 3-3.5 star review. - Mike Fatty Fatty Moo Moo

For what it is, it's okay. The problem is when you think hibachi you don't think food court Japanese and that what this is. I would've given it three stars, if service was better. But, it turns out, its like slow food court Japanese and I just can't get behind that.

  • Amanda E.

I expected better food for the price. Like others have said, this is standard food court stuff but priced like you're eating at a real hibachi - which you're not. I was disappointed about this, as I was treating a family member to dinner (which she rarely lets me do!) and was hoping for something special. The service was fine and friendly, but the check-in coupon they offer is apparently no longer being honored. According to our server, they canceled that with Yelp "months ago" and I was not allowed to redeem it. This was also disappointing - after being unimpressed by our surroundings we were already considering just hopping over to the Five Guys next door, but we figured we could give this place a chance despite two strikes already. I suppose the third one would be how ridiculously cold it was in there. Even with a jacket on, I was shaking! Made it a little hard to enjoy myself. I know some restaurants get chilly, and I understand that it's for the good of the waitstaff and cooks, but even my family member thought it was too cold and I overheard the table next to us making similar remarks. All in all, if I want to spend $30 feeding two people, I will go elsewhere. I don't think I'll be going back. EDIT: I have reduced my review to one star after looking at the quick tips on the mobile app: They have been refusing to honor the Yelp check in for at least SEVEN MONTHS now. I contacted them and have not heard back. I get the feeling they don't intend to fix the check in offer anytime soon considering it looks like it's bringing them business. Please take your money elsewhere.

Good local hibachi place for all of us in the corporate park area. If you're going for lunch get there on the earlier side as it gets busy and is smaller in size. If you want a chef to cook in front of you with a show like the traditional hibachi places - this is not your place I had the chicken hibachi and was happy that you can do a rice and noodle option. They are pretty flexible on modifying orders. Service was really good and food was tasty Prices are average but not on the cheaper aide. Overall a good experience and u would go back!

This is probably my 4th time dining here. I always order the hibachi combos but I was acknowledged by our server that it was happy hour. So I opted for sushi... Sushi was average at best. $1 sushi/sashimi with the exception of a few items such as Tuna ($1.75). The sushi chef tried to be cute and used cucumber to replace the seaweed in some of the nigiris (I.e,, spicy tuna, salmon roe, masago). What a fail and waste of sushi. I mean I like cucumber, but not with salmon roe or masago. I'd much rather prefer the seaweed to combine those flavors. So if you don't like cucumber in your sushi, I'd be sure to ask the server before you place in your order. Hibachi food was decent. Noodles, fried rice, and veggies were all cooked well. Unfortunately, I couldn't say the same for the steak and chicken. I automatically knew the steak was going to be well done as I watched the chef cook it. On that note, 80% of hibachi chefs do not know how to cook steak. You could ask for raw steak and it will still come out well done. Trust me, I used to work at a hibachi restaurant. So if you want medium, ask for one level below that (I.e, order medium rare If you like your steak medium). But if you like your steak well done then you can ignore this quick rant. Service was on point. I forgot her name but she had a solid amount of tattoos. She was very prompt and courteous. Will I dine here again? Probably. It's cheap for the amount of food you get and its quick. But I'll probably never order sushi here again.

I had a great experience today. My coworker and I were seated immediately and our server (the receipt said Heather) was perfect. My usual sashimi appetizer and seaweed salad is what I ordered and I had some left over. This was the best experience I've had at this place.

Urban is good if you catch them we they aren't busy, but that is hard to do. The place is very small and there is only one cook. I've been there for lunch and had to wait an hour. I also went on a slow night and it took 30 mins to get my food. I also once found a hair in my ToGo Tofu Hibachi. Hair happens, but it is still gross.

A small location that has rather good sushi though the prices were far past what I'd normally pay for sushi, but a very authentic japanese atmosphere. We ordered a rainbow roll and was there for the best part of the meal, the ramen, which surprised me greatly and pleasantly. The noodles were springy and the broth rich and flavorful though borderline too salty, but it was so good we ordered two. Good place to go to if you have the money to do so, but plan to do so on a limited basis.

Came in 8 minutes after 6 due to a really bad storm and was denied the happy hour menu even though I am a frequent customer. This place is like walmart...you get basic for a low price with terrible customer service. Not to mention everything takes forever. I am happy to take my money and the money of the 200+ people from my office elsewhere.

My second review at this restaurant and I'm both happy and disappointed to report that nothing has changed since my last report. Happy that the food is still great! Disappointed that the service is still sub-par. Today, for example, had our server Oanh written down our order, it might not have come out wrong. So many simple mistakes made in the service here. Orders not being written down, drinks being delivered incorrectly, how long do I have to wait to get a bottle of soy sauce, etc, etc. Guys, if you would have simply written down our order, you could have just gotten our drinks instead of coming back and asking us again what they were. The food is great, which is what keeps us coming back, but I feel we have to go in with very low expectations in regards to service, and even then our expectations are never met. :(

It'll do in a pinch... We escaped our work meeting at the nearby resort (e.g. penal colony) for some outside food. Sushi was on our mind. The fish was nice and fresh but I wasn't thrilled with the presenation and the selection was a little lacking. They mostly cater to the McDonald's sushi eater... rolls, tuna, salmon - nothing exciting.

  • Roberto N.

We went between meals, so we didn't have any problems with serving time. We sat outside--- it was a really nice day, and, let's face it-- as a dog owner (my soapbox!), I appreciate restaurants that have outside tables. The ambience of the outside is kind of stark, with a sidewalk, parking lot, and well, 8 lanes of Sand Lake Road whizzing by, but the food? Better by far than I expected. The teriyaki, in particular was great. Like others, I'd recommend a Bento Box.

Although this is one of my favorite restaurants to go to because the food is great, I came here on my lunch break to pick up my order that I called in at 4:19 it is currently 4:50 and I still have not gotten my order. My lunch is only one hour long. You would think by calling in the order would be ready but still nothing now I am waiting to get my order during my lunch. Another thing no one even came up to me to confirm what was going on with my order. It was extremely upsetting.. Currently still waiting!

  • Leenie C.

I'll start with the positives: the food is okay, they have reasonable prices (lunch time bento box for $10), and there's enough variety that everyone can find something to eat. The negatives: the place stinks from the smell of the hibachi grill behind the counter (very poor ventilation!), the place isn't the cleanest, the number of seats is somewhat limited (so it always looks like its crowded), and it seems like it takes forever to get your check and pay. I've gone here two or three times with co-workers, but I've had enough. I'm tired of my hair and clothes smelling like hibachi for the rest of the day...plus, they need to give the place a good bleach scrub down.

Had the Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi with brown rice and mixed veggies and within three hours, was sick with food poisoning. Actually made a comment when we got there that I felt like it was a haven for food poisoning, and now I'm going on 24hr of sickness. I won't be back.

I'm not sure what everyone's problem with this place is. The complaints people are giving seem silly. It's too cold? Uh put on a jacket. It took too long? Think about going to a Kobe's. It takes an hour to get food there too. You just don't notice because you are getting food constantly. This place doesn't function like that, you get it all at once so you have to wait for it all to be done I had no problem with service. We went on a Saturday night. Drinks were filled promptly, sauces were brought out when asked, waitress was very nice. My food was cooked perfectly and deliciously. I was nervous about ordering the shrimp because I'm pregnant and if it's not fresh then it does not sit well with me. It was great. Didn't smell fishy, didn't taste fishy. For being in a small location, there was a lot of space in there. Tables not too cramped. They are close, but you aren't bumping elbows with your neighbor. Also didn't take forever to get the check, like someone said, it came out quickly along with boxes for our leftover food (because they give you so much!) and extra sauces to take home And to the guy who got "food poisoning" 3 hours after eating here: it takes much longer than 3 hours to get food poisoning. It was probably something you ate previously that day or night before, then you ate something else and it just exasperated the problem. You could have eaten anything and it would have upset your stomach just the same. To say otherwise is silly

Don't typically go to hibachi places like this. If I want hibachi food, I want the chef in front of me cooking it! This place kinda changed my mind. Taste: Decent Location: Pretty convenient Decor: Clean, spacious and simplistic Service: Decent & prompt Didn't try the sushi, but I heard that the hibachi was much better & indeed it was delicious! It's definitely pretty good and I would keep coming back. I thought the price was a dollar or two more than it should have been, especially since you didn't get both rice and pasta as part of the meal.

    (4)
  • Jessica G.

Delicious! Taste's just like the highend hibachi restaurants but you pay less than half the price just because they don't cook it in front of you. I will be back for sure!

Eh it's okay..... Went here today for lunch. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are an nice size as well. It was very busy when I went and our waiter was very nice. I did notice that it was quite warm in this place. They need to turn up the AC!! Also that coupon doesn't work for the free appetizer :o( I've definitely had better but for the price I will be returning.

Came here for the first time during lunch a couple of weeks ago. Overall was not the best experience. Food was great but that was pretty much it. Went during lunchtime and it took a good 15-20 minutes before anyone even came to our table to ask us what we wanted to drink (after basically seating ourselves). The food came out relatively quickly given the business of the dining room, but it just seemed there wasn't enough staff on hand to handle the demand. I don't know...first impression just wasn't the best.

Visited the Urban Hibachi for lunch the other day. Slightly off from 12:00 noon. You can always anticipate 110% capacity crowd here. Considering the fact that it isn't a large sq. ft. restaurant, I don't think I have ever seen this place w/o a back up at the entrance and all tables filled. This is a good location for an abundance of noon time hungry local office workers also. I opted for the their "Crispy Fish" entree. On first sight, I had whished I had known it would be drizzled with their sweet spring roll sauce. (not Paleo) This entree was not pictured in the menu so surprise it proved to be. The sauce was generic in seasonings and mostly sweet on the palate more than any other "flavor". So I scrape off the the non-flavor enhancing, caloric heavy addition so I can feel good about a fork or two from that white mound on the corner of the plate. The 4 fish filets are about 1/8" thin and about the size of a crookneck (yellow) squash slice. Tasty enough w/o the sauce, but not really all that "Crispy". Even where the sauce had not rested, my perception of "Crispy" was aparently incorrect to think "Panko Crust" crispy. Oh well it was plenty good enough. I honored Mom's teachings again and ate it all. The side of veggies arrived with the fish very hot and steaming and was adorned with that delicious woked up flavor and caramelizing. Nice portion of mushrooms, zucchini, thin sliced carrots helped me tame the little lunchtime bear. The mound of white rice was...- meh, (as expected) but still a good medium for some pretty good tasting soy sauce. My first w.rice in close to a year. Parking at these storefronts is always a crap-shoot (no pun intended) contest and best if you can delay your arrival time as far past noon as possible. Especially now that we are in our rainy season.

I'm usually very skeptical about hibachi places like this one, which is why I am pleasantly surprised at the quality Urban Hibachi actually offers. Taste: Decent Location: Pretty convenient (corner of John Young and Sand Lake) Decor: Clean, spacious and simplistic Service: Decent The sushi is borderline average, but the hibachi is much better, so I would come back for the hibachi and the hibachi only. And although the food isn't mind-blowing, it's definitely pretty good and I would keep coming back.

  • Kevin M.

Be warned! This is not a traditional hibachi steakhouse. They do not cook the food in front of you. Zero presentation. Fast food atmosphere and subpar food. Our waitress was awesome and very nice but I would suggest for the money, you can get better.

  • Jessica H.

Awesome little lunch spot and cool causal dinner space.. food is pretty affordable, especially the bento boxes and rolls! My meal was fresh and quick and the hibiachi look pretty good as well since it's freshly prepared from a viewable grill in the middle of the restaurant! Will be back!

It's a good deal compared to the alternative options (Kobe and such). I really liked it but I find their noodles are a little weird and kind of leave a waxy feeling in my mouth. Urban Hibachi hits the spot without hitting the wallet.

  • Mike S.

This place is Pop Pop Poppin for lunch! almost every table is taken, line out the door....THATS why i starve myself at work till 1pm when its perfect to get seated quickly. Get the hibachi lunch deal, $7 for chicken $8 for steak(which i get everytime). Its basically kobe's dinner for lunch, and cheaper. Not Kobe Bryant's dinner, the Kobe japanese steakhouse you putz. Pretty good white sauce, ALMOST the same as Kobe, but the food is fresh, steak is delicious and the value is out of this world. Do it. Dooooo it.

Theres nothing I didnt like about this place at all!!!! Went here for lunch break and was not disappointed at all. They had a lunch deal that was just greatly priced $11 for alot of rice and 2 skews of chicken robatayaki and a sushi roll which all tasted awesomeeee!!! I liked it here better then Pei Wei by far. Service was great and informative. A+ in my book

Steak bento plate included CA rolls, spring rolls, small salad, rice and some little dumpling things containing what I hope were chopped up vegetables in addition to the steak with terriyaki. For the price (about $10 I think) I expected the steak might be tough. But it was very good. It also helps that they have Sapporo beer, one of my favorites that I don't have very often. The waitress was nice and helpful. Wish Urban Hibachi was in the Phoenix area.

I really didn't expect a lot when we pulled up to this place. The location isn't ideal - in a small row of shops next to a burger joint and something else I didn't even look at. It's at the corner of John Young and Sand Lake in the Wal-Mart shopping center - another red flag. But surprise! It's a quaint little place, nicely decorated, with a few large flat-screens. There were probably 20 or so tables and another handful of chairs at the sushi bar. The sushi menu is awesome. And huge! I didn't count but it seems like there were 50-75 rolls to choose from. Normally it's easy for me to select but there were five or six I would have ordered. I went with the Phoenix and Beauty & Beast rolls. Both were fantastic - a little spicy - with fresh ingredients and a nice presentation. We didn't get anything from the grill but lots of other customers were ordering from the hibachi. It's not the typical style where you're jammed around a grill with 15 people you don't know. Instead, there's one station where the chef prepares your food. The grill is open so you can see them work, but you can't sit there and eat. The wait service was great and the prices were reasonable. We'll be back!

  • Nicole M.

It was perfectly average. It may have been better if I didn't have to wait half an hour for takeout, but whatever. Walked in and said I wanted to place a takeout order. The girl says "it'll prob take 20-30 minutes if you order hibachi." So I asked her what would be the fastest, since it was my lunch hour "oh definitely the bento boxes" ok that sounds good, il take the chicken tempura. So I sit and wait...and wait...and wait. 20 minutes later (I thought these were supposed to be faster?) the waitress says she's gonna check on my food. She comes back and tells me that the cooks started making a chicken teriyaki on accident, would I be ok with that? Sure, as long as I get food soon. Another 10 minutes pass and she finally brings my order out...chicken tempura. "Oh we got the right food for you here you go have a nice day!" I'm still confused why it took so long, why she thought the cooks made the wrong food, then I did get the real food. But whatever. The bento box is a good deal: soup, 3 pieces of sushi, rice, your entree, and I think some kind of dumpling. I was good, but my rice was cold. Like, for sushi, cold. But the taste wasn't bad, I'm glad it tasted good after such along wait. I guess I would recommend calling in your orders for takeout, or plan plenty of time to sit around.

Just went for lunch and the food was great (just as good as Kobe for less - lunch was $6.99-8.99 depending on your protein). Unfortunately - service took forever. We got there 12ish on a Friday and ordered quickly, but the food didn't come out for over 30 minutes. With reasonable service times this place will be a 4-star lunch option. It's only been open 2 months, so I'll definitely cut them some slack while they work out the kinks of being a new restaurant. Also, our server was very apologetic regarding the wait, although she didn't offer any compensation for the inconvenience. Everyone I was with got the hibachi lunch, so I can't vouch for the quality of the sushi or anything else, but the seared ahi looked good on the table next to ours.

Fellow Co-Worker in a hibachi induced glossy eyed high: "Sharon!! Do you like Hibachi?!? Me: "OoohhHHH, sounds like you're about to share an exciting new place! What do you think Jeff, is it good? Fellow Co-Worker in a hibachi induced glossy eyed high: "Oh my Ga-aahhh-wwwwddd Sharon! It is soooo GOOD! Whatchya doing in an hour. Wanna go? I've been going like every day to get their salmon. Do you like salmon? I love salmon. And the lunch specials are so reasonable you're not going to believe it! It's like $8 for a nice piece of salmon and some grilled veggies. Let's go!!" Me: "Oh wow...ok, ok. I'll go as soon as you catch your breath! I'm excited to try it! I've never seen you so excited about food before!" [END SCNENE] ____________________ Wow, I'm gonna have to thank Jeff on this one. I ordered the calamari hibachi and it was super tasty. Without a doubt a crowd pleaser! So they don't make the food right in front of you? Oh boo who! Go cry me a river. The food is unbelievable. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staff is above averagely friendly. Will defiantly comeback again, should I ever come back to Orlando!

I'm giving Urban Hibachi five stars for being awesome at what it is: a casual and affordable sushi/hibachi restaurant. We go about once a week during happy hour lunch. The dinner prices for the hibachi are more than we'd like to pay but the lunch portion and prices are perfect. When my husband and I go, we usually split two rolls and the chicken hibachi and that's plenty of food for about $15. It's not the fastest but it's also quality food. The servers and staff always have smiles on their faces. All in all, it's affordable and delicious hibachi and sushi without the long waits and high prices of Kobe's.

The food was great. The price was great (LUNCH). The service was terrible. We waited 45 minutes for our food, and the waitress didn't come by, didn't apologize. Nothing. We just waited. If you go, don't go during peak time. But I would go to five guys or jersey mike's first.

Crunchy tuna roll was awesome. Steak and chicken was good, but a little tough on the steak. No free appetizer, even though still advertised on yelp, so one star lost for that.

Great sushi and hibachi food for good prices. We love Kobe's food but don't need the dinner show (and the more expensive prices), so this place was perfect! The spicy tuna roll was one of the best I have ever had here in Orlando. The service was fine for us- all the servers were really nice and attentive and very good at seating our party of 8 as quickly as they could. They are opening another one in Metro West, and I can't wait to have a chance to visit more often!

I'm not sure why everyone is so down on UH...we love it here and are repeat customers. No, it's not a "classic" hibachi restaurant, but it's WAY above mall food courts. All of the hibachi-style food is delicious (the steak and calamari are our favorites) and come with a ton of rice and veggies. A pretty decent deal for the price. They also have some pretty yummy appetizers, and a decent variety of sushi rolls. There is a sushi happy hour that is a pretty good deal, and I believe they have some sort of all-you-can-eat sushi situation happening, though I've never experienced that myself. We've never experienced bad service here. All of the waitresses are very friendly, and get to you as quickly as they can when the place is packed. We try to go during quieter times usually - late night, or just before the dinner rush - and they're always super friendly and helpful. The last time, we ordered a few sake samplers and our waitress helped us choose what flavors we'd like, and even substituted a few different ones they didn't have on the menu because we wanted to try them. The sake samplers themselves are a good deal too, and always end up involving more sake than they think they will. Not a bad thing ;) I guess my best advice is to go at a time that isn't right in the middle of a rush, and be friendlier to your servers - as someone who works in the hospitality industry, I promise that if you smile at them, they'll be much nicer to you.

We had a great meal. It was a Saturday night and was very crowded. We were in Orlando on vacation and stocking up at WalMart. We found this place on Yelp. The Yelp reviews were right. We enjoyed some great food; think Benihana food without the show. We had chicken and steak with some Tempura. We did not have any, but the sushi looked good. In addition, we saw people with restaurant.com coupons so check that out. I would not pick this as a destination meal, but if you do not want 5 Guys, stop in. b

I went to Urban Hibachi on a busy Monday afternoon. They do a great lunch business for the offices around the area so they were jamming. It's a small little place but has table service. I tried a few of the sushi rolls which were good (average priced). I love eating sushi at a restaurant that is busy because you know the fish is fresh. My companion had the beef hibachi and liked that is well. It was cooked great, the beef wasn't over cooked at all. They have an open kitchen so you can see it all being cooked. I thought the service was average. The kitchen area looked ok but wasn't super clean looking. Would I go back? Maybe...wouldn't make a special trip for it. ps...the Yelp coupon isn't being honored anymore.

This was a pleasant little surprise hidden between a dunkin donuts and 5 guys!! Sometimes I get in the mood for Kobe or Arigato but not in the mood to dress up, wait for my table...I just want the food part, no cheesy volcano onion and egg roll or shrimp tails in the hat. This concept I really really liked!! It was clean and well decorated modern asia style, the menu was a great assortment of sushi, tepayaki ( japanese cook in front of you style hibachi) and tempura and lots of other great items! Our table got a wide variety to choose from and we all sampled a bit from eachother and everything was really very good! And for the price, it was delicious! I highly recommend this spot to anyone liking the japaneese" cook in front of you" and sushi and not in the mood to spend a fortune for the same old boring tepanyaki Hibachi show where the chefs use the same jokes while they cook your food...this is just the food and at a great price! Staff was really nice and efficient also. I throughly did enjoy this restaurant, only issue was the AC could have been turned up to make it a bit cooler. I look forward to the MetroWest area to open and hopefully more to come!

I'm going to be a broken record, but all that has been said must bare repeating, because I've had to come to grips with these key points. 1. Urban Hibachi IS NOT AN ACTUAL HIBACHI... at least not in the sense of a dinner and a show. Though, if sitting in the right area, you can watch a guy in a Japanese chef's uniform cook your food (at least) on a single hibachi behind a pane of glass. 2. The food? It's ok. Have you had better? Probably. The sushi is alright, served fresh and well prepared. The "hibachi dinners" are still decently portioned, but were bigger originally. Their appetizers are ridiculously small for the price. You could one of their veggie spring rolls through a key ring, though it's still tasty. 3. The service? BAAAAAD! AVOID THE PORTLY, POSSIBLY TEENAGE WAITRESS WITH GLASSES! Apart from being well-mannered, she's the laziest and is almost talented at screwing over anyone with Restaurant.com coupons. She split a bill between be and one other person in our party, and somehow found a reason to deem invalid afterwards, blaming it on the electronic register (of course the manager was not available). She apparently doesn't realize other businesses accept their own versions of these magic papers and have no problems whatsoever with doing the exact same transaction. If you want AMAZING sushi. Go to Izziban Sushi down the road, towards Orange Blossom Trail, and indulge in ecstasy. If you want a real Hibachi, this isn't for you. Aaand if you want better service, there's a Five Guys Burgers and Fries next door in their plaza. Enjoy.

Hmmm....., its okay. You want to come to this place if you want Teppanyaki without the Teppan show at a lower price. The flavor is just as good as any other Teppanyaki place. The rest of the menu is ok, but I would go somewhere else if you're craving sushi rolls. The atmosphere is a little weird and the service is not great. It can get packed during lunch time. However, this is definitely a nice choice for lunch if you want something different in this part of town.

This past week, I've gone here twice. The first was for a social function where we reserved for 20+ people but since I was considerably (& fashionably) late and didn't order anything, this review will be based on my 2nd visit during happy hour which is from 3-7PM and consists of $3.50 sushi rolls and $1 nigiri. They did give me sweet tea on the house which was nice. But no stars for freebies, just brownie points! Other Yelpers stated slow service; it didn't seem like a long wait to me. It's already fast enough compared to Kobe Steakhouse where the chef keeps you occupied with amusing tricks like erupting volcanos made out of stacked onions. More so, I was slightly surprised that my chicken and seafood hibachi came out as quickly as it did. Who wants their food to not be cooked fully, anyways? I don't remember what sushi roll I ordered but, whatever it was, it was definitely a good 'ol sushi roll. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing to be of concern about. Just yummy. (EDIT: Crunchy Salmon roll. I love crunchy and I love salmon. Oh, I love rolls too if that matters.) All in all, there's something special about wanting hibachi for lunch and being able to get it. This place will kick more butt if their happy hour menu becomes more extensive and/or they give me a good reason to come back for dinner a la social event, drink special or just more free sweet tea. What can I say? Brownie points FTW! Side notes: One of the joint owners was a partner of Fuji Sushi near Waterford Lakes, staff are mostly Vietnamese.

Its not anactual hibachi, its regular restaurant seating and there's a single hibachi chef behind a glass pane cooking your food if what you order is hibachi. Much cheaper than the real deal and the portions are really good. Sushi is good, nothing to talk about but the service is good, portions are large and it taste good. I'd go back.

In a short: too bad the CUSTOMER SERVICE LEVEL is DISGUSTING, the food is ok. First of all: they are part of restaurant.com coupon but on the fine lines it just say: "Valid on regular menu". When we got there the server informed us that the coupon was not valid for the All-you-can-eat sushi. First negative impression. After that and worst of all, when I decided to order a Sashimi Sampler with 8 pieces, I asked if they could change some fish for Salmon, as my son was decided to only eat salmon sashimi, she said that it would be $1 for each piece I switched!!!! Is a slice of salmon really $1 more expensive than any other fish? The overall experience was poor and frustrating. For the same amount of money I can definitely find better quality sushi with less greedy owners.

This was great! The food was great and our waitress was just very kind and accommodating. I suggest the bento box, its delicious, comes with lots of food, and very affordable. I highly recomend the tempura banana. Its nice and crisp on the outside, and warm and gooey on the inside. I posted a picture for you visual folks.

This place was really not bad at all for the money. It's very small inside with maybe 15 to 20 tables with one hibachi table in the back behind glass protector, not the traditional show everyone is use to getting. Sushi was really good, spider roll was excellent and worth the money. Food came out fast and hot. They don't take yelp coupon but the waitress said that if I sign up for their VIP club through text I can show her the response and get 20 percent off. I thought that was even better since we normally don't get appetizers anyways. So join the club text to 90210 and put in urban hibachi and start saving!

Their service is atrocious. I live about 2 miles away and they boast delivery service. I had some friends over and had $150 worth of sushi ready to place the order. I got on the phone to place my order and upon hearing my address the girl on the other end quickly said to me in a clipped tone "sorry we don't deliver to residential, only business orders" . I kindly pointed out to her that their menu does not make that distinction and I live 2 miles away. She apologized and repeated herself and said that they would change their menu to reflect that difference. I didn't believe a word of what she was telling me and felt she was judging me based on where I lived. I was beyond mortified my guests and I had to find somewhere else to eat. I won't be giving them the business or eating at their restaurant again.

We had great service. They were fast and attentive. I haven't had great cheap sushi in a long time. There salmon dish was super AMAZING! I loved everything I got. We got the philly roll and had it deep fried and customized for us..(just cuz i like that crunch). My friend and I had Leche Sake that was tasteful and AMAZING cold sake. If you don't know what it is, I suggest you to just drink it anyways. We had two bottles and should have had 3. I am definitely coming back for the service and the quality of food. The only odd thing is that its by Dunkin Donuts. If you pull up there, you are in the right place. I drove around and said I swore I saw it was right here..oHH i am here and i was right! You can't miss it bc its off sandlake and by the hess gas station. Definitely recommended=) Great for an inexpensive sushi date and very casual style. We got drunk AMAZING! High FIVE!! Thanks!

I thought I would try this little joint in search of good, cheap Japanese Hibachi food. First thought.. NO HIBACHI TABLES! This place is nothing like Kobes. No show chefs at all...Just a quick express type of place. food was ok...nothing really amazing to write home about....I probably won't visit again...as I like sitting around the grilles.

Service was good. I do not recommend the sashimi; was not the freshest. Loved the chicken and steak hibachi grill. Reminded me of a food court in a mall.

I eat here often because I enjoy Japanese food and it's convenient. I love the food, but not crazy about the atmosphere and their service could be better. They've messed up my take out orders for the office quite a few times but not so badly as to have to take it back. They're opening a new one close to where I work so hopefully that one will be staffed with friendlier servers.

This was our first time here as a result of a restaurant.com coupon and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Teryaki beef Bento box and my wife had the Spicy Crunchy Tuna roll. It was before 7pm, so the roll would have been $2.50 off if we did not have the coupon. Both dishes were excellent and the service was good, but it was not packed on the Tuesday night we went. We will recommend this place to friends and will be back ourselves.

The food was excellent and was prepared quickly. My server was a bit distracted, but all of the staff was exceptionally pleasant. This is not your typical hibachi restaurant, because you do not sit at a hibachi table. However the prices are very reasonable even for a sit-down restaurant. They also offer takeout and delivery services (within a certain distance). I will definitely eat here again!

We visited this place and enjoyed the visit. The staff was great. The food was excellent. We had the veggie sushi and chicken. We will certainly return to this place upon our next trip to Orlando.

First off let me start by saying their sushi is very good and their happy hour specials are amazing, BUT they have THE WORST service and service staff I have EVER experienced in Orlando! I took my girlfriend here about a week ago because I had been telling her about their great sushi, we walked in and their were 3 girls working, one was laying down on 3 chairs behind the register taking a nap and the other 2 were playing on their cell phones, probably because there was no one in the restaurant. After one of the servers sat us she took our drink order but didn't come back until 10 minutes later and when she did she outwardly said "I totally forgot you guys were here" (odd since we were the ONLY people in the place, you'd think it would be hard to forget us!). My most recent experience with Urban Hibachi's poor service staff was yesterday when I decided to take my parents and boyfriend for dinner hoping the service would be better this time, sadly I was very disappointed. The entire floor of the restaurant was littered with chopstick wrappers, pieces of food and spilled sauces, when I asked to be sat at a different table that was cleaner around the floor I was told "They are all going to be like that we just had a big party" I wanted to say "Well do you also have a big broom!" Geeze! We ordered our sushi and a 1 order of Tuna Tatkai, they managed to screw up the sushi brought out the wrong rolls, I had to ask for soy sauce, we had to ask for drink refills and after I asked for the Tuna Takai for the 3rd time(for those who don't know it's raw tuna lightly seared so needless to say it doesn't take the 30 mins we were waiting for it, it's RAW, come on!) I was told she just put in the order, I asked her if she forgot the first 3 times and she said "yes", we still had to wait another 15 mins for the Tuna Tataki at which time she informed us that our other order would be up soon, we only ordered 1 Tuna Tataki. So while their sushi is good and so are their prices I will not be recommending Urban Hibachi to any of my friends and family any more nor will I be going back until something is changed about their service, it's unacceptable and makes for an unpleasant dining experience plus I didn't appreciate the attitude we received from the server, neither did the guy behind me who had to ask for his bill 3 times, at least it wasn't only me!
