First thing my family and I noticed was a foul odor. The place was packed. I'm wondering, don't they smell it too? We are on vacation and called first to be sure that they had the sushi we wanted to eat. When we arrived they saved our 8 pm appointment, but didn't have the sushi that we confirmed. The bar itself was small and the fish displayed in it looked disappointing. This is the worst sushi bar I have ever entered. Of course we didn't eat there.

I have been going here for years. Great service, reasonable pricing & fresh food. Going here tonight. Would suggest to anyone looking for good sushi in the area.

Going there since October 2014. They make you feel at home, great service, fresh delicious food. I go there every week

Heads up: This isn't Japanese food; it's Chinese! We were super disappointed and puzzled when all our dishes arrived and were unrecognizable as Japanese food. The okayo donburi didn't have any egg. The beef curry didn't have curry roux in it and had red peppers and snap peas (?!). The sushi we ordered, however, was fine and tasty. If this was a Chinese restaurant I'd be rating the food pretty good (4 stars), but it's advertised as a Japanese place, and the menu misleads you into thinking you're going to get Japanese food. In fact, for some people (like me), having Chinese food plus sushi is something I'd be into sometimes!

I just love sushi - so this will perhaps be a simple 3.5 star review from me. Food 3/5: The sushi here was not the best I have had, nor was it the worst...but I love sushi so unless it is rotten - to me it's either good or great! Here was good. Price 3/5: Correctly priced or even cheap. Portion 2/5: The rolls aren't very big. I would need to order more 2-2.5 rolls for myself to fill up here, thus making the prices average for simple quick sushi. Customer Service 5/5: They deliver. This is the saving grace for me and I would give 5 stars on customer service because we called ten minutes prior to the closing and asked if they would still be willing to accept an order and deliver. The location is just half a mile away at a resort nearby them, but that's a long walk when it is raining at night! Overall, not the best sushi & small rolls, but the late night delivery service & correct order for sushi delivery late night was very kind of them. I was very thankful. The product is better than carry out from a grocery store sushi - AND they delivered at closing time. They are fast. It's no gourmet, but certainly works and serves convenience and customer service to make me very appreciative for affordable late night food on vacation. Certainly not grocery store sushi. Also, not my favorite blow-me-away sushi. I eat it all. This to me was exactly what I expected and paid for. I have nothing to complain about. I got decent late night sushi DELIVERED. Those gourmet places do NOT deliver anywhere, and are more costly. I just needed some late night food and wanted REAL food (like sushi) rather than junk food, fast food, burgers, or expensive resort food. Also, I wanted delivery and NOT pizza. I see some complaints in quality and grocery store carry out comparison... I disagree. It's a little better than that. Also, it is indeed not those "light on fire rolls" served dining in at your table only for obvious reasons. It's dine in, carry out, or delivery. I doubt I would choose here to dine in knowing there are many places to eat around here if dining out, but this perfectly met exactly what I needed and wanted. You KNOW it's not 5 star sushi when delivery or carry-out, but Publix is right near if that is people's selection. Totally average sushi and exactly as expected. (This is indeed sounding like my perfectly average perfectly 3 star "nothing great/nothing bad, just so-so" reviews. Lol.) What blew me away to raise them to above average for me personally was that there was the added love touch here. It was perfect customer service. Delivery to my resort 5th floor door after their close. They were probably on their way home or out, and I am very thankful it was Tokyo Sushi and not pizza delivery. If not dining out, I would absolutely recommend them for delivery or carry out around here for much more affordable food and excellent customer service in a ridiculously overpriced tourist area and resort location. Very happy for real food and kind prices. Honestly, for the area, the prices are CHEAP. I would not remove this place from your list comparing to the others. If you want delivery I would absolutely order from here again myself actually. Overall 3.5! Thank you Tokyo Sushi for exceeding customer service expectations of most anywhere I know of!

Looks kinda sketchy from the outside, however, their is fresh! Lots of choices and the staff is very friendly!! They make a great spicy tuna and salmon roll! If what you want isn't on the menu just ask and they will make it for you! Come here and eat

  • Yeruult I.

I'm sure dine in is ok since it's made in front of u.Try to stay away from ordering deliveries, it's the 3rd time they would forget something in order or just skip the protein in a meal.

This was a great sushi joint. Lovely Miso soup and the Hawaiian roll was amazing. Our son loved his panko crusted chicken. The tempura banana was great, too.

  • Damara C.

Great local find in a super tourist area. Inexpensive compared to South Florida equivalent joints. Cute, small, nothing special, and that's why it gets 3 not 4 stars. I would definitely go back again. The rolls were good. Didn't love the typical side salad and ginger dressing that every sushi restaurant serves, but the seaweed salad was good. Great value for the price, and a nice change from all the chain restaurants in this area.

My sister and I stopped in for some sushi on the way to the movies. Since moving to Orlando we really haven't been able to find a sushi place that is quick, affordable and good quality, but I think Tokyo sushi is going to be that place for us. The staff was friendly and we were seated promptly. I can't comment on the entire menu cause we just ordered sushi. Basically, they give you a sheet with all the different types of sushi, sashimi and hand rolls and you write the quantity you want of each type beside it. The prices are right on the sheet with help with the selections as well :) between my sister and I we had the California roll, tempura roll, American Dream roll, and the spicy tuna hand roll. Everything was really good! There wasn't really anything special about the sushi, but it was tasty. We also had the house ginger salad which was great. We were in and out in about 30 minutes which was great cause we had a movie to catch. We'll definitely be back!

On a Disney trip, we wanted to NOT eat the overpriced food at the park, so we ended up at Tokyo Sushi. This was our situation: craving sushi, but not that hungry, and on a time limit. All were checked off upon leaving the place, but I didn't feel satisfied. They have white boards around the small space of this restaurant with their specials, but some of the boards are hard to see so you may not even get to read all of the specials. I did order a special roll, though, the Pink Lady: basically crab inside & out. The white board said it would be topped with eel sauce & spicy mayo. Neither came on my roll. So I asked for spicy mayo on the side. Turns out it was more mayo than spice. Meh. I don't think it was worth the $11. Although, they do have really fast service. Our food came out much sooner than I expected, but then again, the two of us only ordered one roll each. But it helped us get out of there in the time we wanted to. Sorry, not a fan.

Best sushi I have ever had!! This place is actually what made me start liking sushi. My favorite is the Vegas Roll. The lunch special is a really good deal and they have very prompt service.

I often run here while at work because it's close and consistent. They have a decent menu for selection. My only complaint is that it doesn't taste like they use the freshest of ingredients because some of the flavors are kind of bland. However, service and prices help that oversight, because while it's not always as tasty as I wish, it's the best for the price in the area for sushi.

  • Jessica S.

The food was great. Had the avocado rolls and sweet potato rolls with the house salad. The ginger dressing was fantastic. BUT the service was horrible. They kept rushing us to order, then couldn't wait for us to leave. One person in our party was still hungry and wanted more sushi but felt so harassed by the waitress and other staff who kept staring we just left.

This place is BAD and I should have looked it up on Yelp before trying it. It is run by Chinese and the food is NOT AUTHENTIC. The Chirashi sushi was just cut up fish thrown on a PLATE of rice that was barely vinegared. The wasabi was bland and was probably sitting in the plastic hot oil receptacle for days. It reminded me of one of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. I hope my wife and I don't get sick from the raw seafood. I tried the "Oyake Domburi." I should have known it was going to be bad as I pronounced it the Japanese way: "Oyako donburi" and the waitress corrected me to the way it was mispelled!!! Oyako means "parent and child" because its essential ingredients are "chicken and egg". There was chicken -- but NO EGG!!!! God AWFUL! It tasted like a bad Chinese stir fry!!! Disgusting!!! DON'T EVEN THINK OF EATING AT THIS PLACE!!! NEGATIVE 5 STARS!! AND I have never given such a low rating to a place. Oh, yes, the green tea was just like ordinary hot water and had no taste!!! Yuk!!! And they charged $3 for that!! Don't eat here --- you'll be sorry!

One night during the Disney World stay we decided to splurge a little on some real food because we have been ROUGHING IT (well, cooking ramen noodles in a nice resort suite isn't exactly comparing to campfire in the wild, but the spirit is the same!) I checked out few other reviews and got the idea that service might not be too stellar, but it's close to the resort, and it's way too late to traverse to other parts of the town without having the closing doors slammed in our faces. The food was merely okay. It was not a meal that I would wrote home and tell momma about. But what impressed me the most, to our surprise, 30 minutes before closing time they still led us to our seats and brought out some tea; on this point I would say Bravo! to Tokyo Sushi because there are many who would close way early than the advertised operating hours. For that I appreciate Tokyo Sushi a lot. You saved my butt that night.

I wouldn't go here to eat again unless nothing else in a 5mi radius was open. I'm all for supporting local, family-operated (seemingly) businesses, but when you get your son and daughter to run the restaurant, you have to at least make sure they know what they are doing! My order: Salmon roll sushi. Amateur roll. Also it arrived without ginger or wasabi + dirty chopsticks. My GF's order: Gyudon... but she got something completely different! She is Asian and she knows what Gyudon is supposed to be like... and it was not what they served :) I mention to the waiter when ordering our food that we'll be sharing the Gyudon. We still get one bent spoon. The bathroom is pitch black dark such that you can't even locate the light switch. When you do eventually turn the light on, you'll realize that there's no soap to wash your hands with. The women's bathroom apparently did have soap, so good on that. You have to give credit where it's due!

Surprisingly to me, my family decided to return here tonight, after just being here two nights ago. As such I decided to take a whole different approach to the menu and see if I still like all the food. My Mom and I split teriyaki chicken skewers which were quite tasty, but nothing that would really fill us as much as the tempura appetizer we had last time. For sushi I ordered: 1) Tamago: The best tamago I have had in a long time, the freshness was really the best part as I now anticipate at this restaurant 2) Yellowtail: It's been some time since I have ordered this as well and I quickly consumed this tasty fish 3) Dragon Eel: Some kind of cross between an eel roll and a California Roll, extremely tasty, I ate it so quick that I was not even aware most of it was gone by the time I looked up at the plate again. 4) Chicken Tempura Roll: Chicken can either be really good in sushi or really nasty. They made it delicious, a great idea indeed to put the chicken in tempura batter. For dessert I also ordered a green tea ice cream, the first time I've had it in years, and it tasted better than any I have had anywhere else. This place passes once again with flying colors.

Gives new reason to be hungry in two hours! This food is delicious, but the sushi portions are tiny. If you are on a diet, this is a great place. If not, plan on ordering twice as much! The salmon, tuna and crab stick sushi are wonderful. Ask for the low sodium soy sauce if you are taking out so they'll give you the "good stuff" instead of soy sauce that will still be good in 2020.

  • MATT M.

Not great. Probably good for ones whom haven't had "real sushi" or "real Japanese" food. Sashimi was big chunks, definately not your typical sashimi slices. Dragon Roll was not your typical Dragon Roll. Tokyo Sushi's Dragon Roll contained cucumber, tobiko (fish eggs), cucumber, unagi, sweet sauce on top and cream cheese! Cream Cheese in a Dragon Roll? I think not. Ginger Pork entree was pork cutlets, however was overcooked and very tough. Miso Soup was extremely watered down. I could tell when I looked at it, that it wasnt going to be great, it was a clear almost milky color. With that being said, if your looking for some good Japanese Food...I would suggest Benihana down the street or the sushi at Publix next door.

Perhaps the worst Japanese food I've ever had, certainly the worst udon. I ordered the shrimp tempura udon. The shrimp (served separately) was rubbery, but merely unremarkably bad. The udon, however, was special. The broth was simultaneously oily and tasteless, vaguely Chinese in flavor, certainly unlike any udon I've ever had. A remarkable accomplishment in bad Japanese food. The worst instant udon I've bought from an Asian supermarket was much better than this udon. Everything else we ordered - salmon teriyaki, spicy tuna roll, California roll, and green tea - was mediocre, such that on their own we would simply have decided to never go back. But the awfulness of the udon merits a special review.

Best sushi in the Kissimmee area I've tried. If you are in this part of town give it a try. Downtown Orlando, Sand Lake, and Epcot has better places, but I only say that because of other happy hours offered and a bit better ambiance if you're on a date. If you don't want to pay park admission or drive 25+ minutes, this is your place. Their prices are pretty good though a happy hour would make me come more. They need a happy hour. Again quality of fish is superb. Friendly staff also.

Very nice place for fresh and food sushi. Nothing fancy but the food is good and the service as well. I frequently go for lunches, they have a very nice lunch special from Monday to Friday, 2 sushi roll plus a soup or salad for 8,99. The quantity is good enough for a lunch. They have a big variety of sushi. They even offer disney cast member discount. I will keep going to that place.

So I'm not sure eating sushi in a dive during the off season is a good idea. Average sushi in a worse than average environment. I really hoped to love it...

  • Agustina P.

The ginger dtressing on the salad was absolutely perfect. Not too strong and not too bland. I had the Super Salmon roll and it was both pretty, yes, I judge sushi by its prettiness, and tasty. Their eel sauce was strange though. It tasted fine, but was as thick, sticky and transparent as honey. If you're looking for a quiet, laid-back meal with a waitstaff who isn't on top of you every 30 seconds, this place is great.

I want to give zero stars! This place was AWFUL. My husband and I ordered four rolls and it took incredibly long to get served...and there was only one other small family there eating. They somehow forgot to make our food, but every few minutes were telling us " your food is almost ready"? The wasabi spoon/jar was crusty and super dirty. The sweet potato roll had no sweet potato in it (comical?! Kind of, but I was hungry) and the avocado roll was teeny tiny. My husband ordered his roll without cream cheese and they put it in, of course... Ha! The bathroom was so dirty and had old dirty books in it.. Whose reading those? I'm so grossed out. I hope they can step it up and I wish them the best but what a waste of money!

I would have rated this place 5 stars because the sushi is really good but they were not very friendly and rushed us out of the door. We wanted to buy some more sushi but felt rushed and not welcomed.

When I first walked in it wasn't completely empty, but there was 1 couple and a family of 4 sitting down for lunch. The family of four was having a sushi boat, which looked really yummy and pretty. I sat where I wanted and the waitress handed me a sushi menu and a regular menu with their 5 tier basic menu options, Appetizers, Lunch Specials, Soups and Salads, Hot Lunch Combos and Deserts. I asked for water only and she promptly but it without hesitation. Keep in mind this is a hole in the wall restaurant so I was most definitely not expecting a gourmet meal neither was I expecting fancy looking platters, but I decided to test some food out that isn't normally picked out in the menu. I literally asked the waitress, "What is the most unpopular item on the menu, for example what doesn't get ordered very often?" She pointed out the Agedashi Tofu with special sauce. I looked over the menu a bit and finally came to a conclusion of what I was ordering, Miso soup, Agedashi Tofu and a 6 piece California Roll. She took my menu and went to input my order in the kitchen. The decor of the restaurant was very simple Japanese feel, nice colored decorations, dimmed lights on every table, and a flat screen with the football game on. No more than 15 seconds after taking my menu, the waitress brought me my Miso soup. She was very humble and quite, but told me, "You're welcome" every time I said thank you. I gave the soup a stir and noticed the seaweed and tofu inside, traditional Miso soup. I noticed something I did not expect to see in the soup, and that was the tofu was cut uniformly. A very nice touch, the soup had a perfect amount of seaweed in it and it was perfectly seasoned, gulped it down with delight. After about 5-10 minutes, the waitress came with my Agedashi Tofu and California Roll. The Agedashi Tofu was a very nice, pretty leaf looking sized platter, properly portioned with about 8 1inch. sized Tofu squares with sauce on the bottom, Tofu squares stacked like a pyramid with a fishy flaky garnish on top, it looked subtle and delicious. Ill get to the California Roll in a bit, but first I tried the Agedashi Tofu out. I took a square with some of the garnish, and swirled it in the sauce. I got a nice crunch from the fried exterior of the Tofu, nice soft and hot inside, a little bit of savoriness and slight fish taste from the garnish and sauce. But WAIT...hold the phone. Am I tasting SMOKE flavor in this?! I took another square and ate it...and sure enough, it was Hickory Smoke flavor, and i'm not talking about liquid smoke, because I know the distinct difference between natural and liquid, there's a chemical taste difference. I fell in love, it was absolutely delicious, I ate every bite. I then looked over to my California Roll, it was a very nice sized roll, 1 1/2 inch width sized all around, sized into 6 3/4 inch rolls on a long sized plate with a small dent in the middle of the plate. It was garnished with Tamago (Fish Roe for those who don't know the term) and came with warm Teriyaki sauce. I tried a roll by itself first, and noticed it was extremely tasty, good flavors, worth its price.YUM! After my meal I asked for the check and it finally hit me that I didn't even look at the prices when I ordered! LOL so I was already thinking, I probably sent like what $20 just on those things, NOT. I got the bill and what a STEAL, $10.34 for the whole meal. Happily satisfied I paid and left the establishment, thanking them for a wonderful meal. Will visit more often to try different things everyday.

Really good sushi with a lot of selection and good prices. The pork gyoza was pretty good as well. I was in Orlando for a business trip, and during this time we went to a number of more expensive and "nicer" restaurants. This was actually a welcome, casual stop after a long day of flying.

My family and I were visiting Orlando, and had seen an ad on the web for a restaurant called Amura, which we never found. While looking, we came across Tokyo Sushi - it's just a little hole in the wall, in the back corner of a shopping center, easily dismissed. But we were hungry, and you never when a hole in the wall turns out to be a hidden gem. Tokyo Sushi is such a place. The Sushi was really good. Nothing fancy or extravagant - just fresh fish, well made, and served with pride. The service was quick and friendly, the place is clean and well lit, and the sushi was excellent by anyone's standards I think. If you are in the Orlando area and tired of the boring, chain-brand sushi, this little independent restaurant will make you very happy. Not to be missed if you love sushi. I gave 4 out of 5 stars, with only one point missing because they don't make fancy-shmancy sushi pyrotechnics and displays. The taste and service are a 5.

What is it about strip-mall sushi that is head and shoulders above other "stand-alone" sushi joints in the world? I've always said, if you want good raw fish and rice fermented with vinegar, go to a place that has a nail salon and a liquor store next door. While my statement might seem like satirical patronizing at first, let me explain my reasoning. Usually the proprietors of said establishments are family-types, running the place day in day and day out. They usually serve a customer base that is smaller, but dedicated, and they are usually attentive and gracious. Tokyo Sushi is NO EXCEPTION to that. Pull up at the counter, or sit at a table, doesn't matter. Small and Cozy, somewhat tacky decorations, but the quality is unmatched as far as I am concerned. Fresh fish, quality ingredients, and most importantly, good portions for a good price. I have never had a bad meal here, and while some might go to Seito or the like for the atmosphere, if you want to go to a sushi place for the sushi, you need to find yourself a hole in the wall joint like Tokyo Sushi, go there often, and just enjoy the fantastic options and variety.

I DON'T write reviews, but I HAD to on this one. I've lived right next to this restaurant for over 3 years, and finally decided to give it a try. I get home to enjoy my sushi after picking up a to go order, and they forgot to put soy sauce in my bag. Really? You are a sushi restaurant and you don't put soy sauce in the bag? I don't get mad easily, but when I crave something and I can't eat it correctly, I get angry. As I finally get over that issue, I eat the "Tokyo Roll" which is supposed to be there signature roll, the cream cheese was stale, the salmon was not fresh, and the spicy mayo was more like a blob of cream on top of sushi. Save yourself and do not eat here, $40 down the drain.

The only reason we ended up here was that we were craving sushi and the resort said this place was good...NOT! First things first, the bathroom was disgusting. I am always wary of any restaurant with a dirty bathroom. Secondly it is chicken teriyaki not chicken stir-fry. If the kids weren't so hungry I would have sent it back for a re-do. I have never seen chicken teriyaki with vegables and no chicken teriyaki sauce. And finally the sushi. Can you say skimpy? I have had better sushi from Safeway. Very disappointing!!!

OK -- we were hungry. Strip mall sushi in Orlando? Gotta wonder. We were just in time to still get Bento Boxes for lunch which we ordered -- TON of food for a late lunch. I had the tempara shrimp -- my dining companion had the ginger pork. Both were better than I expected. We also ordered a hand roll -- good. I don't get where the other comment comes from about overpriced -- maybe it was because we were at lunch but the sushi prices looked reasonable to both an east coast and a west coast person at lunch. Make me want to try dinner at this place.

This place is extremely reliable! I used to go here on my lunch break with a co-worker all the time. They have great lunch specials. I always get the 1+1=Satisfaction (you get one California Roll and a Special Roll...I get the Vegas Roll...it's delicious)! I went here with my boyfriend recently and he is a BIG sushi person! He loves it and he is practically an expert. He loved that fact that this place had reasonably priced rolls and the hard to find white tuna rolls. Alot of places will not include white tuna in their rolls without the hefty price tag...but this place had it at a reasonable cost. Next time we are going to try the Snow White Roll, where the white tuna is placed on top. Reliable. Fast. Small. Great for a quick sit-down lunch!

My fiancé and I went to this restaurant while we were looking for some Sushi close to our hotel. It was a very pleasant surprise. While it doesn't look like a great restaurant from the street we were very happy with our chose in choosing it. The service was phenomenal, they bent over backwards to fill every request that we had. The food was good and has a great price point.

I love this place. My husband introduced me to this place while we were dating. I don't really eat sushi but they have wonderful noodle dishes with the freshest of veggies. According to my husband the sushi is wonderful. They have a tempora Cheesecake to die for!! Small place 10 or 12 tables but they have prompt and friendly service.

Located in Regency Village amidst a number of essentials for both visitors and locals alike (including Publix, Walgreens, the UPS store, The Nail Place, and Armandeus Salon), Tokyo Sushi is a great option for a laid-back casual setting and decently priced Japanese fare. I was welcomed in by the friendly staff, was seated promptly, and my sushi did not take long at all to arrive at my table. I ordered a sweet potato roll and a crab roll and was eager to find out how well the former measured up to the sweet potato sushi I have had in the past--it was very flavorful, not at all bland like some I have had before, and very much worth it. Usually I opt for take-out when I know I'm on a time crunch (I knew I had at least an hour and a half before catching the bus to work, so I took a chance), but even though I ate in, I was in and out of the restaurant in less time than I had anticipated, so I was more than satisfied! I even had time left to walk over to the outlets and grab some fro-yo at TCBY! They also deliver!
