Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

5 stars because yhe food is excellent. They cook it right on front of you and everything is so fresh. There are so many options! I mixed the meat sauce with the alfredo and added the giant meatball. It was an A++++! We'll be back.

Delightful from the moment I stepped in to almost the moment I left. For my best friend and I's first time, we were impressed with the level of service we received and the amount of people staffed at the restaurant. Food was delicious although they did forget to tell us if we wanted to upgrade our meats and we completely forgot we wanted chicken until we were half way done. It was a great experience as a fast-food restaurant although at the end one of the employees decided to be pushy and flirtatious and wouldn't leave us alone until we got his number. That was annoying and unprofessional but it is what it is.

Great food and a great atmosphere. Kind of like an Italian Chipotle. I had the meatballs with my create your own and it was fantastic. The chef oversees the whole line and its clear that they want to make the customer feel appreciated. It's new so there were a few snags but they fixed my order and it was still delicious.

Great Food! Great Service! It's a really different way of eating Italian food. I was in control of my recipe the entire time. Picked really fresh and yummy ingredients and enjoyed every bite of my pasta. I highly recommend!!! The $8 dollars price for a custom pasta dish with real plates and silverware made me feel like I was eating a fancy italian restaurant. The closest to a homemade meal near campus! My friend had a flatbread and claims its the best she's had in the area! Check out the pics of this place and food.. It won't disappoint.

Great food! I went in, ordered my food and in a few minites had my personally made pasta dish!

Before I mention how much I loved my meal, I just want to thank the staff. I brought my mom for dinner, and she is handicap. The staff couldn't have been more patient or helpful. It's not very often that a staff member runs across a business to open the door for us when I'm pushing her in her wheelchair. An extra star for kindness, because that means something. I would have given this place 4 starts. Really good, especially for the price and quick service, but it's a little on the salty side (Not overwhelmingly so, but salty). I love building my own dish and I had been to italio before. This is far better. There are better options and the food tastes fresher. I had penne with broccoli, peas, spinach, artichoke hearts, and olives in alfredo sauce. My mom had penne with tomatoes, olives, and marinara sauce. It was very good and I would go again and would recommend this place to friends. Also, nutella and strawberry flat bread. Do I need to say more?
(5)Andressa S.
Delicious food !! Friendly staff!! Very fresh ingredient. Pasta, focaccia and salad options. You can pick your own ingredients. I had the chef's choice vegetarian and it was so good!!
(5)Elizabeth B.
I had the chicken and cheese ravioli with pesto, mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes. I loved it and it was ready really fast. The meal was affordable at around $10 but was just enough food. I wish they had a better dessert selection but maybe they will add to it in the future. I like that the quality is that of a traditional restaurant but that it's quick service. The dinning area is nicely designed as well. I will be returning to try their flatbread.

I had the pleasure of being a test customer. Opening in a less than a week....omg, I would give it 10 stars. Imagine you have the freedom of creating your own pasta or salad dish and its cooked in front of you. You walk in, and explain to the cooks the veggies, protein you want and it is cooked to perfection. This place gives you a fine dining feeling at a lower cost. You can even purchase some of the products used right at this location. The salad dressings and croutons are all made inhouse.I'm such a fan!! And sooooo full.

I came into Spoleto today during the lunch rush with my 4 year old son. The line moved quickly and soon we had some very delicious looking pasta waiting for us. I was having trouble wrangling my son and carrying two trays so the general manager, Matt, offered to carry my tray to a table and fill up my drink for me. He checked back with me again for a refill for me and my son's drinks and another employee brought us a box for our leftovers (my son's food, mine was gone because it was so delicious). I am very impressed with their fresh ingredients and even more pleased with their customer service. We'll be back! Thanks!
(5)Richard Y.
Was expecting a sit down restaurant but was pleasantly surprised by the service and food quality here. Staff was extremely helpful when trying to decide what ingredients to customize our pastas with. Everything is cooked right in front of you with lots of choices. It is kind of like an Italian version of Chipotle but not fast food. Would definitely return if we're in the area again.
(4)Lia Z.
Quick, fresh, and delicious. This establishment will be packed in no time, so you better hurry up and go. This is the next Chipotle!
(5)Matt F.
Wow! Just wow! The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great, and the food is relatively cheap for the amount you get and the quality. I read in the newspaper about this place before it actually opened up and I was a little worried that I was going to feel rushed like at a Moe's of Chipotle. What I got instead was a staff taking there time with me and explaining how the process works. Its worth the wait during the prime times of the day. Not to mention I personally thought the pasta was even better than Olive Garden.
(5)Ben G.
Great food and better service! Fresh ingredients and freshly prepared right in front of you! Chef José was incredibly helpful and made me one of the best pastas I've had in a while. Definitely recommend going here!
(5)Pablo T.
We try this place today for first time and we had a very good experience. We got different kind of pastas and flat breads and all of them was delicious. The place is very clean and the service is excellent. Definitely we will be back soon!!
(4)Rich B.
Never got a chance to try iit as the employee locked the door in our face even though the restaurant was packed and it wasn't 10 yet....never coming back. Customer service matters.
(1)Nicole C.
This place is not for indecisive people! I love the concept of choosing my own pasta, sauce, and toppings. I chose gnocchi (one food I don't make myself because I'm afraid I'll mess it up) with pesto. My 6 toppings were: broccoli, ham, bacon, pine nuts, peas, and cheese. My more indecisive friend chose an option from the menu of a few items already paired together. It didn't look like a lot of food when they were cooking it but I was definitely full by the time I finished. The only negatives: my pesto was a little thin for my liking and I do feel like $9 was a little steep for the meal. The service was super friendly and someone came and cleared me and my friend's trays/plates when we were done. All in all a nice addition to the area. I'm sure I'll return for more pasta in the future.
(4)Donna L.
It is about time that we get a local restaurant that has fresh local (and in season organic) food. I had a pasta dish and it was cooked to perfection. The veggies weren't overcooked. The flavor was awesome. The flatbread for dessert was different and super. When I arrived at 11:30 to meet someone, I was the fourth patron in the place. I wandered and looked at the retail wall and checked out the menu. By 11:40, I was 30th in line. It was as if a bus had pulled up front. Patrons were pouring in. These were not students, but working blokes. This concept gets them in and out in their lunch time and yet serves really good, fresh food. Does it get better than that???
(5)Andrew H.
As you enter the queue, your first choice is what type of pasta you would like, or if you want to customize a flatbread or salad. You then interact with someone behind a counter that tells you to pick six additional ingredients that will go into your dish. There are over twenty five additional ingredients to choose from and include things like broccoli, tomatoes, onion, sausage, kale and scallions to name a few. Don't feel bad if you give that person behind the counter a blank stare...it's a lot to take in on your first visit. Next you can choose an upgrade. If you go with just pasta, its about $8.00, and if you add a protein upgrade, you will add another couple of dollars to your tab. Upgrades include House Made Giant Meatball ($3.50), Prosciutto ($2.50), Roasted Link Sausage ($2.50), Herb Roasted Chicken ($2.50), and a Basil Marinated Shrimp for $4.00. Naturally your next decision will be what sauce you would like...choices include - Pesto, Marinara, Bolognese, Alfredo, Brodo di Pollo (chicken broth). Your final question is whether you would like to top off your creation with crushed red pepper, Parmesan, Italian herbs and a variety of other toppings. At Spoleto your ingredients are actually cooked together, and not just picked out of hot pans and mixed. The chef is always fun to watch and conversate with as he prepares your meal. I chose the penne pasta with bacon, truffle roasted mushrooms, tomatoes, caramelized onions, pepperoncini and Italian cheese blend as my six ingredients. I also added the house made meatball and topped it off with fresh grated Parmesan. This looked and tasted as good, if not better, then anything you may get at a traditional sit down restaurant and was ordered and ready in under 10 minutes. My guest chose the fettuccine with broccoli, carrots, pine nuts and sun roasted garlic and added the herb roasted chicken. You don't have to choose six ingredients, you may choose less, if you so wish. This dish was sauced with the Alfredo sauce and topped with fresh grated Parmesan and Italian herb blend. This was a perfect portion size and tasted wonderful.

These new classes of UCF students are getting spoiled with that Alafaya-University retail corner. So many great eating options. I view Spoleto as an Italian Chipotle (way more food options) with more upscale cooking and ingredients than Olive Garden, but at a competitive price. The wait time for me was minimal and they get it all done rather quickly. Plenty of customizable items. You canter pastas, salads, even flatbreads. If they don't know what you want, they have certainly daily recommendations that all sound fantastic. I got the penne pasta with pesto and a lot of vegetables. I'll be back here for future lunches and dinners with all the choices available.
(5)Tasneem D.
It's fast, very delicious and worth your money. You pick your pasta, pick your sauce, and pick 6 of the quality ingredients to add on. I usually get wheat pasta, alfredo, no meat, with two scoops of the truffle mushrooms (yummm), kale, gorgonzola, zucchini or squash, and caramelized onions. Sometimes I switch my second mushroom helping into something more acidic, like tomatoes. All my friends love this order. Plus service is fast, and the atmosphere is cute! Just wish the bread slice that came with was thicker like when the store first opened.
(5)Jackie G.
This place is fantastic! I love that's the options are customizable. You choose your pasta, salad or flatbread, then your toppings, sauce, meats etc. they give you a slice of bread with the pasta meals. They have great customer service and are very attentive
(5)Natali S.
Delicious! I love italian food so I'm super excited this place opened up next to me. First of all the concept is much like chipotle and those other build-your-own dish kind of place. You pick your type of pasta, salad or flatbread, then the toppings (you get up to 6 free then after that it's additional), additional protein ( I got the giant meatball), then the sauce, seasoning, and then they offer you bread and Parmesan cheese on top. My combination was delicious and so was my friends. I think it's hard to have a bad combination at this place. I had fettuccine with Alfredo sauce, my 6 toppings like spinach and tomatoes, and a giant meatball. Perfection! Now for the service- we told them it was our first time here and they were very patient and showed us how the ordering process worked. Everyone was very friendly so that was awesome! Decor- clean and modern with an italian kitchen twist. They had photos along the wall of their pasta and salads. They have high top seating and low as well. My only recommendation is the bread they offer you at the end is hard and cold. If it was soft, garlic-y, and warm it would be perfect!

I am so happy with this find. To start with I don't like complicated menus and when I first came in I was a bit intimidated by what looked like a complicated menu. But we were greeted at the door and asked if it was our first time. They explained the menu so well that I stayed and didn't run. What was an extra bonus was when we approached the counter the chefs were very helpful too. I had fettuccine Alfredo with 6 ingredients which I wish I could remember what they were because it was DELICIOUS. My daughter had the cheese ravioli and my husband the flatbread and they both loved what they ordered. And for the finale, we had the Nutella flatbread for dessert!!!! Oh my goodness gracious- amazing! The prices were not crazy for the quality of food. I'm surprised it wasn't more expensive so I'm happy it wasn't that bad. could warrant it being more. Will be returning

Imagine if Chipotle was a pasta place. Congratulations, you now know exactly what Spoleto is. Kudos to Spoleto, though, because it works! I really enjoy these "choose your own adventure" type restaurants, because I know whatever flavor craving I have at the moment, I will get. Just like Chipolte, this restaurant offers a wide variety of options in the way of pastas. toppings, and sauces to create your adventure. My personal favorite, however, is the gnocci (with the toppings I crave at the time) and the bolegnese sauce. With all the good things being said, their are a few things I wish were a little better. For example, the portions are different depending on the pasta you order. So be prepared if you were expecting a bit more on your plate and it's not there. Also, this place is a bit pricey for being a pasta place. I know, I know. I'm paying for the experience and quality food. But, it's tough to justify some of their prices because it is pasta.
(4)Autumn S.
I am really enjoying the concert of restaurants that let you create your own meal... Even though my biggest problem is trying to decide on what I want. There is a great deal to choose from here (much more than chipotle!) I am a vegetarian so I opted for the gnocchi with pesto sauce. As someone mentioned before its a bit salty... I was hoping they were exaggerating. They weren't. However, it could have been the garlic? Either way.. No need to over salt, people! Let your guests salt their food more if they want. Other than that it was pretty yummy and quick service! I enjoyed the atmosphere and they were really pleasant to my service dog :)

First of all, it's an amazing place for quick Italian craving :) So I went there for lunch after 35 miles of biking with buddy and we place our order. We both asked for extra chicken and probably whoever was in the line did same. However I didn't get chicken on mine which I realized when I started eating my food. I was super tired to say something so I just like didn't say anything. Later when we were done, the manager and hosts started asking everyone about service. I told them I didn't get my chicken and just wanted to let them know. They were super and offered me if I wanna have any dessert or something. First I said no because they didn't even charge me for the chicken but they were like you have to take something. So I asked for Italian bread with Nutella spread with strawberry and that was AMAZING! #Best #Italian #restaurant #LoveIt
(5)Mel H.
The service was great. The food is fresh and made to order right in front of you. So many choices for a good price.
(5)Leila R.
Was recommended this place by a friend and it was surprisingly amazing! It's got the same concept as chipotle where you choose the kind of food you'd like (pasta, flatbread, etc) and then choose toppings. For a meal with a drink was $10 which was worth it in my opinion. Definitely try out the flat bread, it was delicious! And the service is very nice, everyone was rather friendly and the inside is nicely decorated and has a nice and inviting atmosphere
(5)Daniela B.
First time I came to Spoleto I left with a great impression. The food was amazing, great portions, very fresh and the service was great. When I finished my meal I bought a nutella flatbread which they forgot to make and ended up buying for me. The manager came to our table and gave off an amazing vibe. But unfortunately the second time I went my experience was terrible. The portions were ridiculously small, the service was dull and the supervisor was extremely rude and standoffish. By the end of my meal as I am contemplating to get a nutella flatbread I see the supervisor in the back licking a spatula that had nutella on it. This grossed me out and I didn't get the flatbread! Ended up going to Publix, buying the ingredients and making it myself!
(4)Genna D.
Very cool place! An Italian style restaurant with a Chipotle creation station and healthy, local ingredients from local Florida farmers - what's not to like?? Spoleto is great because while you can choose a regular dish, you can also create something of your own, like pasta or flat bread. My husband and I shared the flat bread, which we added prosciutto, garlic, spinach, scallions, and mushrooms. It was delicious, but not quite enough to share between two people. So heads up on that. The pasta is served in large portions, and you can add an array of fresh vegetables, meats, spices, and even cheese! I love being able to pick and choose ingredients based on my taste, so this place is really a cool option for eating out. Clean, quick, friendly staff, and the food is delicious. I'll always support any place that sources local ingredients, too.
(4)Bailey M.
Fast-casual dining has officially spread to Italian cuisine, and it's awesome! Very clean/modern decor, smells amazing inside, and the food is delicious. Will definitely be added to my list of habitual places to get dinner. My only complaint- If you have a BIG appetite (like a 22 year old guy who just worked out), the serving sizes aren't the biggest. Definitely a "lighter" meal that is very satisfying but not completely filling.
(5)Isaac H.
I come into this new restaurant and I'm immediately disappointed, I see another chipotle style, make it in front of you, restaurant that the ucf surrounding area is flooded with. Immediately I'm greeted by a super friendly worker telling us about the restaurant. Her great attitude pushed us through the line, I ordered a penne bolognese with chicken and a bunch of free add ins. The workers were friendly and seeing them make the food really did make me feel comfortable. I finally got the food and ordered a side of Nutella flat bred. The food was delicious. For the $10 price tag I thought it was amazing but be aware, my not so "fooducated" friends didn't have a good experience. They ordered plain meals with no add ins so understandably it wasn't that great. The owner came up to our table and was super nice. It is always a plus when the owner of a new restaurant does this to my table. His great attitude really made me feel at home. We finished with the flatbread which we all easily shared. It was delicious! Great concept, great service, great food... Now to move to Orlando :)
(5)Jamie V.
Another "chipotle" style restaurant area and it's better than the rest! Choose from a pre made set of pastas and salads or create your own! The list on additional add-ons like chicken, meatballs, and buratta are a great plus for the fee. Each pasta bowl comes with a piece of bread and cheese. I wish there was more to the serving of pasta, but at least there's always room for the amazing Nutella flatbread!!
(4)Ralph E.
Great Fresh Food at great price and friendly service. I am here a few times a month . Cannot recommend enough

Whaaat! To All My Food & Pasta Lovers Worldwide But Especially Here On East/UCF Side of Town Definitely Got A New Keeper Here To Frequent For Lunch &/or Dinner! It Was 'A+' Amazingly Good & Made To Order Right In Front of You So Quick Service For Lunch Time Crew. I Went With The Veggie Ragu With Chicken in Pesto Sauce Just Felt Safer Wearing White Shirt Today But From The Moment I Stepped In the Door It Felt Right & Only Got Better. Great Location Just Off Alafaya Trail On University In Close Proximity To A Few Other Nice New Chic Food Venues So Make Sure To Give It A Try & I Bet You'll Be Hooked, Bob Appétit My Peeps Enjoy I Sure Did
(5)Laura G.
Came there an hour before they closed and witnessed a really reallyy tall female worker there standing outside the bathroom saying loudly that, "I will beat your ass if anyone messes up my bathrooms" and proceeds to give everyone the stinkeye that uses her restrooms. Races in there to check the restrooms after a customer finishes. LOL and I'm not even lying.
(1)Chrissy W.
Same concept as Italio or Chipotle. You have the culinary freedom to make your own meal. 25 different topping options as well as the option of proteins. Get the giant meatball. Don't ask questions. Just do it. Your tummy will leave in a state of bliss. Genuinely was scared to finish my meal because the thought of no more pasta made me sad. Definitely try it out! The owners are nice and the quality is phenomenal.
(5)Ariel S.
I found this place by foot since I was in the area getting a haircut. I looked it up and was happy to hear they have quick service and takeout. Since I needed a quick bite to-go, I ordered a salad. The menu was easy to navigate, and I even had a girl come to me and ask if I have been there before and explained how you can order from a preset menu or make your own. I got the salad with the baby jewel lettuce, 6 toppings were included. I chose carmelized onions, truffled mushrooms, tomatoes, kalamata olives, ham, and zuchinni. They offered four dressings, I chose the balsamic. They also included two thin slices of baguette and topped it off with fresh basil, parmesan, oregano, and pepper flakes for me. I must say that the mushroom and onion toppings had plenty of flavor and oil so dressing was not necessary. The portion was on the smaller side for 7.50, however the ingredients were fresh and had descent flavor. Thumbs up for a quick bite.

The food was pretty good and they have gluten free pasta but they seemed disorganized. I ordered the PENNE PALERMITANA with GF pasta, my son tried the make your own and added chicken. We used a coupon for the Nutella flat bread. 1 beer and 1 fountain drink totaling $35 (flat bread was free with coupoun or it would have been another $10) The bad: They were out of Bolognese sauce and I had only about 5-6 pieces of sausage. I had to remind the cook to use GF pasta, then he said to the guy preparing the pans "you are supposed to give me tongs for GF pasta". The cook put the GF pasta in the regular water and had to start over. They did not know how to heat up the GF pasta once it was in the pan sat there ,2 big balls of pasta. They finally put another pan on top and steamed it. It was a little gummy but edible. Not a place to eat if you are a celiac. I think there is a lot of cross contamination but if you are just sensitive to wheat you will be o.k. I found it a little pricey for what you are getting. Lets face it its pasta which is pretty cheep and every protein is an upcharge $2.50-$4.00 and so is Goat cheese really goat cheese? The portions are small for the price. The good: The UCF site was very clean. Seemed to be staffed with enough personnel. The Nutella flat bread was delivered to the table piping hot and my son gave it a definite 2 thumbs up. It smelled just yummy, whats not to love, bread, Nutella and strawberries all nice and warm from the oven. All the ingredients look to be fresh and a large variety to chose from. They had what looked like freshly roasted chicken breast ready to add which looked nice and juicy and not dry. Free refills on fountain drinks.
(3)Alexandra W.
The food is great! They have an awesome deal where you get to pick any type of pasta, choose the sauce, and choose 6 toppings for $7.50!!! The portion size is pretty average. I have yet to have their flatbreads but I have heard that their Nutella Strawberry dessert flatbread is really great and it looks delicious :) the service is also very quick. Will definitely be back!
(4)Sydney W.
AMAZING! If you love pasta, this place is great! You have the opportunity to make your own with tons of fresh toppings and sauces! The staff is super nice, the prices are great, and the pesto is fantastic! Definitely going to be coming back here again and again!
(5)Greg W.
Second time here. Both times decent food but excruciatingly slow and incompetent service, and/or understaffed. Of our party of four, three of us were completely finished before the one Nutella flatbread was ready. My son had to stand at the counter to remind the employees that he was waiting. (We were told they would bring it but we didn't trust them. For good reason. Nobody was attending to it.) It appeared that every other person in line after us had their meal prepared before someone apparently got around to the Nutela flatbread. The staff also could not seem to remember many parts of the other orders--they kept repeating questions and we would repeat answers. And still things were missed, but we gave up trying. Trash/plate bussing station piled so high it looked dangerous. Certainly unappetizing.
(3)John B.
This place has great service and food! Really enjoyed the 3 cheese ravioli with Alfredo and veggies! Of course the chocolate flatbread with strawberries is a must!
(5)Rayan B.
Exceptional food, it's like Chipotle of Italian food except they actually offer fresher food that's cooked in front of you.
(5)Audrey L.
I have nothing but great things to say about this new fast casual Italian joint. I had the chef's special Spaghetti Amatriciana and the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful. The food was presented so beautifully on the dish, and it felt like I was eating at an upscale Italian restaurant. The prices aren't bad for the portion of food and quality of ingredients. The service was fast and friendly. I am a fan and will definitely be back!
(5)BB K.
This is a beautiful new restaurant on University about 1/4 mile west of Alafaya located on the first floor commercial area of an apartment building. The concept is simple but great: you select your own ingredients for your pasta, salad, flatbread or entrees, and you watch the chef make prepare your meal in front of you. Service is remarkably fast, and the food is served on real china, not plastic. You carry your food to the table and get your own drink, so it is upscale fast service, and it is excellent. If you are not in the mood to design your own meal, they have chef specials like lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, and salads ready to be prepared for the customers quickly. The UCF area needs a place like this where you can be a little more original in your meal selection, enjoy eating on china, but not have to deal with full table service. A great new place!
(5)Meg N.
The staff here is amazing. And the food is really great too. I came here 2 separate times on a quick weekend trip and would have gone back again if I had the time. Their flatbreads are amazing. And you absolutely have to try the nutella and strawberry flatbread! You wont regret it.
(5)Larry J.
I know the concept in Brazil and i know The Company for a long time and I got to tell you that you guys did a great job and food is great! Keep up the good work and our Orlando needs different concepts with tasty food !
(5)Russell N.
Fast casual italian restruant, and a tasty one too. I visited Spoleto for the first time and upon walking in I knew this place was different. They have made to order pasta entrees as well as salads and flatbreads with a emphasis on localy sourced and organic ingredients. They also offer wines and craft beers. I decided on a salad. I choose spring mix with carrots, truffle roasted mushrooms, tomatoes, pine nuts, bacon, caramelized onions, gorgozola and italian cheese blend. As for the dressing, I choose balsamic vinagarette. My salad arrived tossed with dressing and a slice of crusty bread. All of the ingredents were fresh and the salad was nicely dressed. The bread was fresh and crusty like a Baguette. Good quality too. Not the cheap stuff. It seems fast casual restruants are growing in popularity and this italian version is a place I would definately consider for a quick bite to eat when I am craving italian.
(4)Travis W.
I am a big fan of build it your -self dining options (e.g., chipotle). Having previously been a fan of Italio, Spoleto will be my replacement Italian go-to. I really enjoyed the choice and locally sourced ingredients. I made my own spaghetti with artichokes, mushrooms, olives, garlic, and onion in a pesto bolognese sauce. Added a signature burratta cheese topped meatball to the dish. Super tasty. Great management and friendly knowledgable staff. Will definitely return here.
(5)Stacy V.
Apparently Spoleto is an ancient city in Italy, but also is the name of a new fast casual restaurant in the UCF area. The concept is pretty simple: 1) create your own pasta/salad dish or 2) choose from a limited selection of specialty pastas, salads, or even flatbreads. As I'm doing my best to follow a grain-free diet, I was pleasantly surprised with the salad options and the fresh ingredients available. Roasted garlic, bacon, and truffle roasted mushrooms found a nice home on my salad (you can choose up to 6 toppings). While the food tasted great, there did not appear to be consistent portion sizes for the create your own meals. The spinach was grabbed by the handful by staff, so portions could easily differ depending on the day. The website advertises that the restaurant purchases produce from locally owned farms, but nowhere did I see a list of local establishments, unless you count Florida Beer (Florida Swamp Ape IPA). Love the decor in this place! They even have a UCF's mascot Knightro in some of the art on the walls. Friendly staff and quick service added to the positives for this new place of business. I look forward to returning to Spoleto again for lunch. Maybe during my next visit, I will splurge on a flatbread. Here's a helpful tip: Park in the regular lot and NOT the garage. I made the mistake of pulling into the parking garage the second time I visited and it was a nightmare. Not only was it crowded, but it was like a long maze walking to the restaurant from the garage.

I've been here three times now, and not only is it not worth the money, its plain not good. There are very few places where I won't eat leftovers I've paid for, but this is one of them. Their bread is typically stale, and the pasta frequently under re-boiled. Were the pasta fresh, under boiling would leave it raw, hot, and chewy. Their pasta when underdone is cold and soft (hence, clearly, re-boiled). The sauces are bland, and although the concept is nice there is no way to truly get Italian flavor a from cold ingredients tossed around in a pan with a bland sauce for a minute. Coming from the northeast and a big-eating Italian family, I can say I've quite familiar with the foundations of sauce for Italians, and put simply, it is from complexity of flavor and a multi-step cooking process for the addition of each ingredient. You can't fake this, not with all the "fresh herbs, pepper, parmesan, or oregano," thrown on at the end. The toppings I've had that are pickled are not quality, the chicken breast is something from a diet-book gone bad. It's chicken, marinade it and cook it and it will be fine. It reminds me of meats with brining processes or salts added to retain (bland) moisture. The meatball is alright, but mostly the food is bland or just not very good. Two stars because their imported sweets are deliciously authentic.

This place is AWESOME! It's a great concept. It's fresh, it's quick, and so delicious. I had one of their flat breads... OMG. It was the burrata and prosciutto caprese flat bread to be specific. It was the best flat bread I've ever tasted. I really wish I lived closer because I would be popping in a lot more often. Hopefully the one in Winter Park will open soon because I promise to be a regular for lunch/dinner!

Interesting concept, great service, food would be good if it weren't SO SALTY! The idea is simple: locally sourced ingredients that are assembled and cooked right in front of you. There are countless ways to create a meal for yourself with the ingredients offered. However, this all translates into a fair waiting time during prime dining hours. Once you get past the choices, the food itself is OK. The consensus among my dining party agreed that something was overly salty. We talked to staff, and they think it was the pesto, although I think it was the sauteed onions. I do plan on returning, so perhaps I will try something without those two ingredients. A DIY dish starts at $7.50, and that comes with a choice of base (pasta, flatbread, salad), 6 ingredients, and sauce. A few add-ons will quickly raise the price (a baseball sized meatball is $3.50), so choose carefully. Overall, a good meal for a good price, although the wait can be a little long sometimes.

First visit since I was craving a Chicken Caesar Salad. Ordering went fine, the salad was made and the gentleman who was putting it together had to ask again if I wanted chicken on it. The chicken pan only had about 3 little slices left in it and I thought the guy that was watching him went to get more with the pan in the back, but the guy fixing the salad went ahead and took the 3 little pieces and put it in the oven to heat. Luckily I asked the cashier if there was going to be more chicken put on it since I was paying extra for it. She said that sometimes when they run low they don't put enough on, but she could get a little more for me and I thanked her. I get back to my office to eat and realize they never put the croutons on it which I was looking forward to. Oh well too late to go back at this point. Salad was decent, but I am still disappointed since they should have the new restaurant kinks worked out already. With that said, I will give it one more try before I write them off since the food looked very good. Here's hoping they get it together - SOON.

I usually love coming here because their flatbread is to die for! But the last 2 times I've come here they've been out of a lot of ingredients... They were even out of a side of bread for my friend who got a pasta. I also think they sometimes skimp you on ingredients.

Novel concept in Orlando. Just what this area needed. Fresh and delicious food! Great service!

This place is DELICIOUS! The concept is very cool. You get to build your own pasta, flatbread, or salad with super fresh ingredients. The staff is super super friendly and more than willing to help you find the flavor that you crave. My fiancé and I have been here quite a few times now and we'll keep coming back. We always feel welcomed here by staff, owners, and managers. One of the owners took the time out to speak with us about the origins of Spoleto and their plans to build a few more in the Orlando area. We will definitely continue to go back to Spoleto for great food and awesome service.

My food was very bland but my boyfriends was perfect. I loved the concept and everyone was friendly. Restaurant is beautiful. Wished my food wasn't so bland. May give them another try.

I am a big fan of build it yourself dining options like Chipotle but this concept does not work as well with Italian food. If you like cheap food and being able to choose what is in it, this place is for you. In addition, they at least put the food on an actual plate making it seem less fast food like. For the price and portion, I would go there again.

My husband has been a fan of this place since they opened, I was sceptical til we ate there tonight. Amazing, also love that it's fast, but light years from fast food.

The food was good. Good choice of toppings. Probably would have given it a four but the noise level was ridiculous. They have a open oven that they baked the food in and every time they pulled a tray out they would literally drop it into some bucket that would make a loud crashing noise as if it was breaking everytime. Too load to enjoy your dinner.

Absolutely delicious! The ingredients are fresh, and love that they prepare exactly what you want right in front of you. Then to sit down with real silverware and plates is a nice touch and makes it feel like a true restaurant experience, rather than a fast food like chipotle, though it's the same concept. Service is helpful. Would go any day!

Great new concept in the US. Pick from pasta, flat bread or salad and you can make your own creation or select from one of the chef creations. It's like Chipotle on steroids!!!

Great tasting, good quality Italian food. You pick your ingredients. Limited seating but clean.

Our daughter told us about Spoleto. Having been to Italio, I wasn't really excited about trying it. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was really good. The ingredients are clearly fresh and food made to order. The chicken breasts came whole from the big brick oven. Everything was really tasty and the service could not have been better. We will definitely be back!
