First time at RA and they definitely delivered. We tried 3 different rolls.. all were good. The Rackin' Roll was the absolute best thing we ate. Each slice had a fried shrimp on top...the panko coating on that shrimp was so delicious and unique. The Hot Mess appetizer was little balls of crispy rice..A little chewy if you're not used to eating this. Server Shana was excellent - she took her time going thru the menu with me as I was looking for crunchy or tempura rolls. She gave her suggestions and followed up to make sure I enjoyed everything. Restaurant is decorated with modern art that gives it a really trendy feel. Rock and roll music playing and casual atmosphere.

What a surprise to find a quality sushi restaurant in a group of bars and chain restaurants near the convention center in Orlando. I got great service at the bar and was very impressed by the atmosphere. Based on the bartenders recommendation, I had the Ahi tuna which was a happy hour special, and the Rolipop roll. Both were excellent. The tuna was nicely seared and presented well. The Rolipop roll was delicious with a fantastic presentation. Definitely grabbing some chopsticks after a day at the convention center or Universal Studios.

I love the Ra'ckin Sushi roll! Very creative with the Lotus-slice gives it a nice crunch! Edamame dip is something unique and definitely is not short of flavor. Nice ambiance. Makes for a great place to take your lady on a date and wow her with your tasteful sushi ordering skills before she gets lost in your eyes. Great attentive staff so you don't have to worry about her glass being empty. And.. Make her melt by topping it all off with their flash fried gelato. YUm!

The food was wonderful! We came during happy hour and got a great deal! Will definitely come back in the future.

Incredible food and service. The scene is loud here due to the Latin restaurant next door. Come before 10:30 if you want to hear your waitress.

Great cocktails and fantastic sushi! Our server was great but the sushi took ages and ages to come out. We tried a large variety from the menu and all of it was fantastic! I will stop in again when I am in the area.

If you are looking for great atmosphere then RA Sushi is the place to go. If you want decent affordable sushi then you wont be disappointed. Was it bad? No. Was it amazing? No. Would I go back? Not before trying every other sushi place first. Somehow it just wasnt very satisfying. It didnt make me sick but it didnt hit the spot either.

Top-shelf service, great atmosphere, a very reasonably-priced menu and great food -- what else do you need? -- I will be back!

To start the service is mediocre at best. The sushi rice is inconsistent I don't understand how you can under cook rice and will manage to make it super wet. Its clear that whoever makes the rice doesn't care about the quality they put out. The sushi vinegar on the rice is extremely... beyond sour it tastes like straight vinegar. The fish is also inconsistent it'll come frozen or room temperature. Rolls come looking like rice cake(mashed rice) and falling apart. Apparently they can't keep up with the volume. Sahimi is just thrown on a plate and its the same sizes as the nigiri mind you nigiri is supposes to be thin sliced fish on a ball of rice sashimi is the equivalent of a chicken nugget. I can go on for days but I don't want to continue wasting my time. I give this place a 2 of 10. Only good thing is the kitchen food. Service blows and sushi sucks. Great combination for a sushi spot.

This could be a great restaurant, unfortunately here are the reasons i wouldn't come back... 1. Lighting is HORRIBLE, bright lights so bright you almost need sunglasses, go to Dragonfly Orlando, notice the lighting there and the ambience, no one wants to feel like they are on a football field while eating. 2. Music was horrible, no one wants to hear Leonard Skynyrd, Bruce Springsteen while having Sushi, need some nice Asian Fusion or smooth Jazz... 3. Tables were all wobbly, waiter needed to put padding under legs of table numerous times. 4. Service was EXTREMELY slow, we were there almost 1.5 hours and ordered 4 rolls, yes it was a Saturday night but there were maybe 5 other tables in restaurant with people sitting down. Maybe it's just because it just opened, not sure, staff was very friendly but just seemed like management had no idea what was going on...

Well done. Excellent good quality and flavor. The best dragon roll I've had. The Jiro roll was excellent too. Great regional beer on tap. Loads of bottles. I would go back.

It is geared toward the tourists, but it's definitely a place you can have healthier food, since Orlando is so full of junk restaurants. Next time I would definitely order their fish dishes and not sushi and see how it is.

So glad there is finally a sushi place nearby the Hyatt!! The environment is very nice. Restaurant is very spacious and well decorated. We stopped by for lunch. I had a 2 piece nigiri, the Pacific roll and a tempura hand roll. Loved them all! Very generous on fish, fresh, tasty and the chef did very well with all my customization requests. My husband doesn't like sushi and was disappointed that they didn't have his favorite fried rice and shrimp dish. He got the lobster fried rolls appetizer (delicious and great presentation) and a tempura roll, which was fancier than in most places. The wine was a generous pour. Service was good. We got prompt attention and never lacked anything. The manager stopped by to talk, which was also very nice. I'd be definitely back next time we are in town, as long as I can convince my husband to come :-)

Nice patio and a staff trying to be helpful, but they must have been short staffed the night we went. Food took a long time. The manager did come by and apologize without us saying anything. They were trying. Food came out. The sushi was pretty good, but the specialty rolls were very bland and didn't seem well put together. Not sure if it's always like this or if it was just a bad night.

First time trying RA and I must say that I will never dine at this restaurant ever again. Our server never said more than the minimum. We dine out frequently and would order most items that are recommended. The food is just OK. The service is HORRIBLE, it's not like we sat down and instantly ordered water with extra lemon & sugar packets... I think servers forget that they can make more money if they are friendly and have great suggestions.

  • Brandon E.

The food was great, the server was really nice. But the wait was unacceptable. We waited a very long time for our main course and dessert. It was late at night and a big groups game in which might have been why, but I feel like they could have put a simple dessert together. We waited probably 15-20 just for dessert.

Went back for the garlic yellow tail, so YUMMY!! I could have ordered about 5 of these. Also the pacific roll was delightful. Nice spot to hit when in the area and a welcomed addition!

My group of 4 came on a Saturday night around 5pm. The service was LACKLUSTER and underwhelming. We had eaten at their Vegas location, and had excitedly told the waitress, Shelley, that we had, and we got no response from her, and she abruptly left the table. We ordered edamame and drinks - and never received our edamame until we asked for it when our dinner came out. We ordered 5-6 rolls and asked for soy sauce when the rolls came out. About 7 minutes later, with no sauce in sight, a member of my group went to another table and took their soy sauce. The waitress returned a few minutes later, and had again forgotten our soy sauce. The service was a disaster from start to finish. This place needs work and a major boost in enthusiasm from their employees. We practically had to beg her for a check. The sushi is also mediocre at best.

Amazing food & experience! Very attentive management & staff. Great happy hour. Crunchy calamari roll was amazing, and banana split maki! Need I say more?

  • Kalynne M.

Wonderful vibe and amazing fresh sushi! The shrimp that are lightly breaded with a spicy kick are tasty. They had an event there yesterday and they made everyone feel welcomed. The GM was charming and greeted guests as they entered. The interior is vibrant red and very sophisticated. I will definitely come back;)

After we left a stupid place we went to this, real four star place, Good place! Had spicy shrimp soup and other food, wonderful! The reason it's 4/5 is its too slow to get the food on table

Have been to RA in LA several times and was therefore excited to hear that it opened here in Orlando! Been here for dinner several months ago and Rackin roll as always is a must. I felt the presentation was a bit messy, I also got a chicken teriyaki which the chicken was a bit burned :( but service was great and food tasted as good as I remembered! Was here today for lunch.. Had chicken teriyaki bowl and was bummed that they have NO KidS menu! And we sat inside where service sucked! Must get the garlic edamame! Best I ever had!

    (4)
  • Sheri S.

The breaded chicken with the BBQ sauce over Cole slaw was fantastic. The Cole slaw had a lil kick but the chicken was great. You get 4 breaded cutlets but they were so light it was easy to finish. I had the green tea ice cream for dessert and it was a perfect serving with great taste

  • Fatima B.

The best sushi I ever had!!! Even when I asked for the avocado to be replaced with mango it was not a problem!!! We had hot mess shrimp and lobster sushi , the crispy shrimp something sushi and few other things... Super delicious and staff super friendly!!!

When we arrived at this restaurant we stood at the greeter stand for a good five minutes waiting. Greeter was absent, we figured maybe they were seating someone else, but the restaurant was empty. A bar tender was busy setting up the bar. A lone server wandered deep into the restaurant avoiding eye contact at all cost. The greeter finally showed up and was happy to seat us where ever we wanted. Our server meandered over, with the "Standard International Dr. Greeting", Have you been here before? No. Then went on ask for a drink order. No description of the menu? I already told you about the miso soup rendition, The Crazy Monkey Roll was in her top three rolls also. I welcome server interaction and recommendation. But I do not need validation on everything I order. This is my dining experience not yours. Frankly, I don't care what you like unless I ask you and while you are it wipe the fake smile off your face. If this is what guests of Orlando are going to experience then I suggest there is some adjustment. RA Sushi, don't make the cardinal rule of sin in believing that because your physical plant is exciting that you will flourish. The restaurant business is still a people business. Invest in your biggest asset, your staff and make Orlando proud to house you. Full review on my blog.

Visited RA Sushi with a few girlfriends during their reverse happy hour (10pm to close). The service was nice and the restaurant was clean. I had the Viva Las Vegas roll and the Tempura Calamari roll. I would definitely come back for the Viva Las Vegas roll but I found the calamari roll was just basic. Even with the happy hour prices, the food was still over priced. My girls had the drinks and were disappointed with their beverages. Lastly we were disappointed to find out the restaurant could not validate for parking. I have always had parking validated when eating at Pointe Orlando. Overall this place is just ok. I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here.

Delicious! Went by twice during my trip. Fresh ingredients and some creativity to their dishes. Chirashi bowl, agedashi tofu, and the chicken teriyaki bowl were tastefully made.

We stopped at RA for lunch we tried the pork gyoza, tuna tataki appetizer, chicken teriyaki bento box and a sushi roll. We could not find anything good to say about any of them. The gyoza had no flavor in either the dumpling or the sauce. Same with the tuna tataki salad...the dressing was flavorless. Same with the chicken teriyaki you get the idea...the teriyaki sauce was watered out and flavorless too. I have to give them an F for food. I would give them no stars if I could. We we're so disappointed.

Amazing sushi restaurant! My boyfriend and I were in the area craving sushi and this was the closest place near us. It seemed to have great reviews so we decided to check it out! This restaurant is very modern and nice to look at, and the food was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend the Viva Las Vegas Roll, which is their most popular roll, as our waitress said. The service was very good, the waitress checked on us very often to make sure everything was good and to refill drinks. Prices definitely weren't bad for a restaurant on I-drive either. The only downside to this restaurant is the outdoor seating. My boyfriend and I made the mistake of sitting outside where the restaurant next door was BLASTING music. I couldn't have a conversation without almost yelling to my boyfriend. So if you're coming here definitely sit inside, unless you want very loud Spanish music blasting in your ears. Besides that, this restaurant was amazing, great sushi, very modern beautiful restaurant, and great staff.

Great miso soup and my ultimate fav the coconut creme brûlée! The place is great and the staff was very pleasant. We will be back :-)

Just ate at RA. If this is among the best sushi on Orlando I would respectfully suggest that the reviewer has never been presented good sushi. First, the cucumber salad: limp cucumber with some sort of noodle present all of it almost completely tasteless. Second: the sushi rice. Tasteless with no hint of the vinegary sweetness of good sushi rice. Third: the neta. Wrong temperature for the most part and recently poorly thawed in all cases. Summary: a tasteless disappointment. Nothing bad, service was attentive , the decor was acceptable although more nightclub than true sushi bar. Prices were moderate high end and frankly, should have been substantially less. Food class was midrange conveyer bar.

You had better have a LONNNGGG lunch break if you come here for lunch! Been here for oh...I dunno...35 minutes...ordered a simple Chicken Teriyaki Bowl...still not here. To be fair, I think it is the bartender (sitting at the bar) not the establishment. I see people outside who came in well after me who are eating already.

Great atmosphere and great service! Try the garlic edamame and the bento boxes are a great value for the amount of food you get(especially for the I drive area;)

Maybe we went on a bad night because everything we tried was terrible. We had spring rolls, gyozas, edamame, and sushi rolls and did not enjoy any of it!

First time at RA. The interior is modern with punches of red with both seating on the inside and a patio seating. Will definitely try the patio when the weather is a little cooler. We chose to sit at the sushi bar because i enjoy watching sushi chef preparing sushi. We started out with the umami punch bowl which is for 2 people, generous in size and i could definitely taste the liquor :) Since it was my first time, we decided to order a few items from both the sushi bar and their hot kitchen. We ordered the rainbow roll, tunacado, edemame spinach dip and the spicy miso soup. It was exciting to watch the sushi chef preparing our sushi. The rainbow roll was super fresh, flavorful and light, which was perfect for a hot summer day. The tunacado was seared tuna with avacado and with a creamy ponzu sauce, again the tuna was super fresh. I was super curious about the spicy miso and when it arrived, i was excited and was hooked after the first sip. Not your typical miso soup. The broth has the right amount of spice with hints of sourness. The soup has tofu, bak choy, shrimp and shitake mushroom and it is on my must have list when i go to RA again. Overall, we had a great dining experience and will definitely be back. I recommend people to check it out.

This place is adequate. Stick to the cooked food. The sushi is forgettable at best, but the ceviche was good and the ra-lippop was acceptable. The sauces are the best part of the meal, they overpower the fish, which in this case isn't a bad thing.

  • Christopher D.

Sushi was the bomb diggity. seriously. they even catered to a few "improvements" i wanted made to the stuff I ordered. will definitely be back next time im in town at the nearby convention center. sake flight was great, order a side of their garlic ponzu for dipping, its excellent. wont go into details of all the sushi i ordered, but it was all great. :)

Grat survice - thanks Tiffany. We have been to multiple RA locations dozens of times and while the menu is basically the same, service here was the best. Great outdoor for people watching and happy our food specials allow for more rolls if you are dining on a budget.

I order my sushi to go because i work in the area. The salmon asparagus is phenomenal. I would definitely like to.give the restaurant a chance with dining in. I cant deny the awesome food! And the hosts are.always nice.

Very cool place! I loved the decor and fun music they were playing. I enjoyed the "ra"llipop, the mango lobster roll, and the shisito peppers. Those were different and very tasty. I had a cucumber collins to drink and, it was OK. I changed to a glass of malbec and was much happier with that. I would go back if in the area. It was perfect for dinner before a show at the Improv.

I cannot remember how I learned about this place, whether it was on Yelp or a Facebook post, but schlepped my happy behind to the other side of town in a monsoon to check it out. When you walk in, the atmosphere is really cool. It's sleek, modern, trendy and you think, "Oh yeah, this is gonna be good!" My friend and I got there just before happy hour ended (which is 7pm, BTW) so we were able to still order off that menu. They have great HH selections for both food and drinks and we ordered WAY too much! Vivi Las Vegas Roll - This was good, but only 5 pieces in the roll. Tootsy Maki Roll - so so Crunchy Calamari Roll - It tasked like a shrimp tempura roll. It was ok, nothing spectacular. RA Llipop - This one was really good! Philadelphia Roll - Good, basic roll. Garlic Edamame - AMAZING! Edamame Wontons - Amazing! They reminded me of split pea soup inside of a fried wonton. All in all, it was okay. Not over-the-top amazing-I-Can't-Wait-To-Go-Back, but not bad!

I've enjoyed dining here for a while. Greg has an admirable respect for his craft (glad to see he's back, ya'll). Enjoyed Stephan's service this go around. Looking forward to dining again with the girls in a couple of weeks!

Yeah, here I am and I don't know why! You first walk in and I have to say that they décor is very pretty, I love the way the restaurant looks. The hosts, however, a lot of the times is not really paying attention to guests as they should be, so that could be improved. Then you move on to the menu and as expected there isn't a lot of vegan options here. However, they do have a couple of basic rolls, like avocado, some salads, and if I'm not mistaken a soup. I tried a couple of the rolls but they were meh. Their specialty roll though was the vegetable tempura roll and that was really good. It's pretty much the reason why it's getting the 2 stars. The roll was really, really good. Overall, the look of the restaurant was great, but the atmosphere created here wasn't very welcoming, so it was just eh...

Great location from the convention center. The service and food were spot on as it was not very busy during lunchtime. The guy they were training did an excellent job and I hope we didn't scare him away ( I mean he was a trainee so we had to test him :) The bento boxes are my favorite lunchtime meal from RA as you get alot of food for a decent price. Win-win in my book. All in all, I look forward to coming back again when I am in Orlando next year!

Hands down my favorite place to eat sushi when I have $$$ to spend. I started going here when I was working in Palm Beach Gardens for a few years, and then they finally opened one in Orlando. Some of my favorites include the Mango Lobster Roll, and the King Crab Roll. There is something about the Asian pesto sauce they serve with the Kink Crab Roll that is pure bliss. What I enjoy most about their sushi is that it is light and so fresh! I try and avoid tempura and this place give you many options. They also do a pretty good seaweed salad. If you can go for happy hour when they discount their rolls!

  • Andrew H.

When you couple all the wild food offerings with a pretty cool happy hour and cocktails that are just as creative as the sushi, you start getting the picture of the vibe at RA. The happy hour is from 4:00 to 7:00 and can be enjoyed anywhere in the restaurant. The Screaming Ninja, Grape Escape and Tokyo Tower, a concoction of plum wine, peach schnapps, vodka and 7-Up are just a sampling of the drinks available along with a wide variety of Sake. Edamame is always a good starter at a Japanese fusion place, and the Garlic Edamame with butter & Asian seasoning at RA was really good. Our next starter was the RA'llipop, Its RA's take on a sushi lollipop filled with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cucumber, lettuce and wrapped in lobok served on skewers with a garlic ponzu sauce. The signature Viva Las Vegas Roll with kanikama crab, cream cheese, rice, seaweed, tempura battered & topped with spicy tuna, kanikama crab mix & sliced lotus root and finished with a sweet eel sauce & spinach tempura bits...was delicious. The Yellow Monkey Roll was all vegetarian with mango, roasted red pepper, artichoke, cream cheese, and topped with more mango and cashews and a kiwi wasabi drizzle. The Crazy Monkey Roll is is made with smoked salmon, mango, cream cheese, topped with avocado, beet tempura bits and and cashews, drizzled with mango and sweet eel sauce. Our final roll to sample was the Lobster Shrimp Roll with lobster, cucumber, avocado, topped with shrimp and served with Asian pesto sauce. All of the rolls we had were unique and very flavorful. I found the Tuna Salad interesting. It included seared ahi tuna and albacore tuna with mixed greens, jalapeno, avocado, cilantro, cashews, wontons, and an onion soy vinaigrette. For something different without raw fish, but still Japanese, the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Udon was a real treat, especially with the spicy teriyaki sauce. If you have people who just refuse any type of sushi, or have children dining with you at RA, the Chicken Katsu is a great choice. Wonderfully breaded in Panko crumbs and a tasty Asian BBQ sauce for dipping. If you want all the flavors of a sushi roll, but would rather have it in fork sized pieces, the Bara Chirashi Bowl is a good idea with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and green veggies served over rice with a poki sauce. What could be a better ending than a Banana Split Maki ? It's sushi for desert with fried banana maki topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit then drizzled with raspberry and chocolate sauces

My friend and I was craving sushi so we came to RA. Okay the food and our server was on point. The restaurant was a bit busy last night and there were tables that were empty. We walked up to the hostess and said hello a table for 2 please. No hello back from her, she just said we have a 15 minutes wait. Which we didn't have a problem with, they will text us when our table is ready. I get it people get overwhelmed sometimes but in a customer service industry you have to say hello. I mean our server was awesome and the food was up to the RA standards but any experience starts out with when you enter the door of any business.

Great happy hour specials if you're in the mood for some good sushi. My drink? Just ok. My server suggested I try the white sangria, and it was good, but...tasted a little like chemicals. My fiance's margarita? Not even drinkable. Which was a bummer, because most people go to happy hour for some dranks. I'd definitely go back for some sushi, but I'd skip the drinks next time. And I'd only go back during happy hour. The sushi seems a bit overpriced at dinnertime.

We rarely venture out to the restaurants of International Drive due to the tourists, the traffic and the fact we have to pay for parking most places. However, we found ourselves at a hotel nearby and decided to walk over to the Pointe Orlando complex and try RA - a sushi bar and restaurant. First of all, the atmosphere is pretty neat (yes, I said "pretty neat")- red glowy lights hung from the ceiling and the restaurant was dark but inviting. Mysterious. Trendy industrial-like. We started our meal with the Edamame Wontons - "lightly fried wontons filled with a creamy edamame cheese mix." They were unbelievable. I've never had edamame quite like this. If I hadn't already ordered my main entrée I would have asked for another plate of these and called it lunch. My friend ordered the Spicy Salmon Bowl. The salmon was marinated in a spicy broth and served over wilted Asian greens, cucumbers and white rice. It was very enjoyable though after a while the taste became repetitive. I had the Vegetable Tempura Bento Box. Crispy fried zucchini, white rice, a salad, a vegetable spring roll and a pork gyoza lined up nicely in a bento box. It was a good sized portion for the $7.85 price tag. I thought everything had a nice flavor (though I did not eat the pork gyoza.) Both meals came with Miso Soup as a starter. Miso is one of my favorite soups as it is light and salty. The soup at RA was no exception. Flavorful, filling and yes....salty. Great place, great atmosphere. The Edamame Wontons are the greatest!

One of the worst sushi restaurants I've tried in Orlando. I heard mixed reviews-from bad, to mediocre, to pretty good. I decided to try it myself.. I didn't enjoy anything that I ordered--NOTHING! Try kabooki (colonial dr) or dragon room (sand lake /restaurant row area) for a really great sushi experience. I'll give them one compliment -The furnishings and interior decoration is quite nice.

Not what is used to be. Food (fish) still good and fresh, but service not there. We have to wait over 30 minutes to get our first dish and the restaurant was not even 1/4 full. Not sure what was going on, but a lot of their staff was just taking a break - I guess. We ordered bento boxes which we never do, it was just ok. Food was way too greasy. As for the sushi rolls, hello, add more fish please. It was just rice with a tiny little amount of fish. Not sure if I will go back.

Great service, incredible sushi rolls.... I recommend the "RA"CKIN roll - ONE OF THE BEST ROLLS I HAVE EVER EATEN, Mango Lobster Roll (a sweet alternative with kiwi wasabi sauce, and if you like spicy the Chili Ponzo Yellowtail Roll... Nikki was our server and she was lovely and full of great recommendations. Can't wait to come back!

Wow went here to just have a few rolls and chill and have a few beers. Everything we ordered was screwed up, got tempura shrimp instead of shrimp tempura rolls, some of the rolls we ordered never came out. Some of the food was ok but not worthy of a second visit.

RA Sushi is a good choice for sushi in the International Drive area. Located downstairs off the valet parking turnout of Pointe Orlando, it is a large, stylish restaurant with a variety of seating options, a bar across the front, a sushi bar in the rear, and some patio seating as well. The sashimi lunch plate is a particularly good choice. It's available every day at lunch time, even on weekends, and offers 12 generous pieces of sashimi (tuna, salmon and white fish) plus soup and salad for a reasonable price. I also really like the summer menu's special hand rolls, which were light and refreshing, almost like summer rolls in a Vietnamese restaurant. But it's worth noting that RA Sushi isn't exactly an authentic sushi bar. I tried ordering a salmon skin roll and was told that since all ingredients are already prepped, they can't make items not on the menu. What that says is that the sushi chefs are more assemblers than true sushi chefs who can make anything they like. That's not too surprising, since the chain is owned by Benihana. Still, the fish was good quality and the price was reasonable, and I'll certainly return.

At Pointe Plaza, Really accommodating staff, can't praise them enough & delicious fare, we tried their Hot Mess, which was just as the name spells & Spicy Tuna Roll- all awesome, will try their Speciality Rolls next time we visit, which will happen often. Fab decor & hot Saki will keep us intrigued. Another plus for us is that the Improv is a 3 min walk from there:)

This place was rock solid. Stopped by while we were at the SAP conference. So the place was packed and there weren't many places to hit. Each night for three nights, we would stop here for appetizers and drinks before going out for dinner. Not once did I come away disappointed. The service was great, the style / ambiance made me feel stylish (and that's saying a LOT); the sushi was perfect each time; and I tried new drinks almost every evening and came away consistently impressed.

This RA Sushi is located in a super touristy area, but it's great! Service was quick and efficient and the food was delicious. We sat outside where they have TVs with whatever football game thing was going on that particular night. Their happy hour menu is awesome for ordering several dishes and sharing. Valet parking is available right across from the restaurant, or you can park in the garage right next door.

I love the Vegas location, so I was exited for this one to open. I've been here a few times and the food is good, but it's been dead in here every time I go during happy hour. If they promoted this place more, I would be a regular but since I don't like to be the only one at a restaurant, I'll check back every several months to see if it picks up.

Mehh. Was actually looking forward to eating here because I had such a good experience at the one in Baltimore but I was not impressed. All the rolls were rather bland either fried, cream cheese, or sauce drowning them out. Also got a hand roll and the crispy Tuna dish, the hand roll was good but the quality of tuna was sub par. Will not be back because I find better fish and rolls at places nearby. The service at the bar was good however.

Went here on the basis that I was craving (and I mean craving) sushi. I looked at some of the reviews on Yelp and picked this spot out. RA is located in Pointe Plaza which I have never been to before so I was not aware you had to park in the parking garage and pay a fee. $3 for 1-2 hours and the longer you stay, the more $ it costs. I figured, what the heck? I'll be done in less than 2 hours if I don't order a sushi boat for 4. Ha! So just be prepared for paying for parking here. After walking past may nice restaurants, high-end shops, and a movie theatre, I finally arrived at RA Sushi. I was greeted with a smile from the hostess and then was promptly escorted to a table in which I declined and asked to sit at the bar (since I was dinning alone). It was lunch time, somewhere around 1pm, so it wasn't crowded at all. There were a few others sitting at the bar enjoying their cocktails and drinks and socializing with one another. The bartender/waitress Ariel, was exquisite. She made my overall experience top notch by being friendly, sincere, observant and quick. She always asked the right questions at the right time and kept everyone's glasses full. What a difference good service can do during one's visit. Because of exceptional service, I rate this restaurant 5 stars. I ordered their lunch special: Sashimi combo 4 pieces each of salmon, tuna, yellowtail with a bowl of sticky rice and it came with a salad and miso soup. The miso soup came first and it was hot and delicious. It had small pieces of tofu and seaweed swimming in a rich broth that just soothes the soul. Next came the salad that had these really good, crispy, crunchy Asian noodles on top. When my entree came, it was so artfully prepared I had to admire it for a second before plowing in. Ariel informed me that the fish was fresh and the chef cut the very best part for me; and boy did it taste so! Thick, melt-in-your-mouth pieces of tuna, salmon and yellowtail dunked in to soy sauce gives you that savory umami taste that you (or at least I) just can't get enough of. The bowl of rice on the side was the perfect compliment and size. I was having difficulty towards the end finishing the rice because it was all so filling, but I couldn't waste it. WASTE NONE. For $12, this lunch special is worth every dime. $12 for 12 pieces of superb sashimi and then some?! I'll be back for more and I'm bringing friends! Overall the atmosphere was lovely - Japanese inspired architecture and fine details such as gorgeous hanging red lanterns artfully placed throughout the restaurant transport you to another place. A very classy, sophisticated and clean establishment. The service and food were both extremely delightful and I'd be happy to pay that parking fee any day just to come back here. In fact, I'll just sucker punch my dad into taking me and then I won't have to pay anything! hehe.

The sushi was delicious. The drinks are a little on the sweet side, so keep that in mind if you're like me, and don't like sweet cocktails. But definitely a great sushi spot for a night out on International.

This has to be one of the worst "Japanese" establishments I have ever been to. First, our server was nice so nothing to do with service. Appetizer was Agedashi Tofu. The crust was thick and tough. The sauce which is the main event, was a light soy sauce with what seemed like sugar to lighten it a bit. Whoever made this has no idea what bonito flakes or dashi or mirin are. I had to remove the carts and think medium tofu with soy sauce. I had the sashimi assortment. Fish was ok, radically different cut on thickness on certain fish. The eel rolls were drenched in sauce so the roll could not maintain it's shape. It fell apart when you tried to pick them up. The Shrimp tempura roll was filled with a fake crab and the shrimp tempura. Not very good. They also use regular short grain rice for the rolls, obviously have no idea what the correct rice to use or they don't care and thought no one would notice. I would look for an alternative if possible, if you NEED "Japanese" then out of desperation this is an option.

Service was ok. But what really ruined my visit was the tail of the shrimp embedded in my shrimp tempura. Could have chocked on that. :( This Ra Sushi does not measure up to the one in Atlanta.

Our group was originally next door receiving horrible service. Since we were not seated yet to eat we left and came here. They seated us right away and even gave us complimentary apps due to our frustrations at the previous restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was even better! Had a fabulous experience. Would recommend to anyone that loves sushi! Will be going back again!

Awesome experience! I was craving late night stir fry veggies & some sushi. The bartender Ryan took his time, helping me "create" a roll to fulfill my fix, as well as offered up some other menu suggestions. When the food was brought out, they made sure the order was correct, which I loved, bc I tend to be the person on the wrong side of a food order!! Everything was fresh, made to order, and super yummy- mind you it was about a half hour before closing. It is a definite must try!

We came here as soon as it opened! Not only I'm crazy about sushi, but when I used to live in California this was one of my favorite upscale sushi places. We decided to try the happy hour menu... GREAT price and the food was simply amazing. We tried almost everything, from the salmon carpaccio (twice actually), the sushi rolls, the wings, the pan-fried dumplings (gyoza), drinks and even dessert! My husband is not a sushi lover, and even he enjoyed trying the calamary sushi roll on the HH menu. The ambience is modern and different from any restaurant around the area; So if you're looking for something different ... I guess this could be the place. Let me talk a little bit about the service. Starting with the friendly hostesses that greeted us, to the kind server that took care of us, we had a pleasant experience. Not only that, but when I mentioned I had food allergies the manager came to the table to inform me about the food I could order and the food I should avoid, plus she made some good recommendations. The table was never dirty nor messy; anybody who walked by us and saw dirty glasses or plates picked them up. I don't give this review a 5 stars JUST BECAUSE they need to work on their bartenders. The drinks were terribly strong and we could not drink them at all. We just asked for water left it that way. Although if I could give it a 4.5 stars I would. I hope they really work on the way the make drinks so they can score a 5/5! I highly recommend this place!

I would describe this place as "tourist sushi". The aesthetics and ambiance of the place make up for the authenticity of the food. Ambiance - 5 stars. Like I said...it's a tourist place. Menu - 4 stars. Credit to them for making an interesting menu. Lots of fusion going on. Taste - 3 stars. I'm not a sushi snob or anything...but this isn't authentic sushi. A lot of sauce is used. But yay for them for not putting to much filler rice. Food Presentation - 4 stars. This is a big deal to me and presentation can actually effect my perception of how food tastes. The food came out very nicely presented. Price - 2 stars. Tourist place of course Parking - 5 stars if you go valet. 2-stars if you park in the garage and have to walk to the other end of Pointe Orlando to get to this place

Although RA Sushi just opened July 30th in Orlando, They are already dishing out a new menu that'll be revealed. RA Sushi offers over 100 dishes and 150 drink specialties that are mainstream and originally created at RA Sushi. When I say "mainstream", they still have an RA twist on them to make you feel like you can't find anything like it anywhere else. On September 10, 2014, we were invited to become part of the RA Sushi family by seeing and experiencing a number of delicious items ranging from appetizers to desserts. The family at RA Sushi aim to please and make you and your family feel at home. If you have an allergy, they'll be sure to keep you from contacting any dish that contains those ingredients (ie, me from eating anything coming into contact with shrimp or items that have touched shrimp). To start with, we were served Garlic Edamame, which are steamed soybeans sautéed in a garlic butter and Asian seasoning. Not only were the shelling seasoned, it seems as though the flavors seeped in and also came from the soybeans themselves. RA'llipop* is a roll that consisted of raw tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy tuna mix, lettuce, asparagus, and cucumber wrapped in lobok. It's served skewered with a garlic ponzu sauce. The entire roll will melt in your mouth. You'll only realized that you ate something because of the crunch provided by the vegetables the fish is encased by as well as a hint of spicy from the tuna mix. The Viva Las Vegas Roll* is a popular item on the menu. Ingredients: Kani kama crab and cream cheese rolled in rice and seaweed, lightly tempura battered, and topped with spicy tuna, kani kama crab mix and sliced lotus root; finished with a sweet eel sauce and spinach tempura bits. The lotus root has a nice crunch but is dense and had a little heat. The crab and spicy tuna mix is smooth and creamy to provide a contrast to the lotus root. Unfortunately, I was unable to try the roll itself because it contained shrimp, but my colleagues seemed to love it and didn't leave a single roll on the plates they came on. The Yellow Monkey Roll is a vegetarian friendly roll that is nice and tropically refreshing. It is made up of mango, roasted red pepper, marinated artichoke, and cream cheese rolled in rice and seaweed, topped with mango and cashews before drizzled with a kiwi wasabi sauce. The Crazy Monkey Roll is one of my favorites and is creamy from the salmon, cream cheese and avocado. The sweet sauce drizzled on top added a nice surprise to the roll itself. This is a little different to the Yellow Monkey Roll because it is made up of smoked salmon, mango and cream cheese topped with avocado, red beet tempura bits and cashews, then drizzled with mango and sweet eel sauces. The Lobster Shrimp Roll is another roll I unfortunately could not try, but I visually enjoyed the heart shape roll as it came out. Ingredients: lobster, cucumber and avocado rolled and topped with shrimp; served with an Asian pesto sauce. After sushi, we took a break from eating to enjoy Sake Flight 8 that consists of three 2 oz. pours of Kizakura "Pure", Sho Chiku Bai Nigori "Crème de Sake" and Kizakura "Pure" Stars - range from sweet, dry to sparkling. The Tuna2 Salad is a refreshing dish with two types of tuna: ahi and albacore. It was a mixture of different textures ranging from smooth to crunch thanks to the variety of ingredients. Ingredients: seared ahi and albacore tuna drizzled with a garlic ponzu sauce, placed over a bed of mixed greens with sliced avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, fried wontons and cashews; served with an onion soy vinaigrette. The first entrée was the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Udon, which is stir-fried Asian vegetables tossed with chicken and udon noodles in a spicy teriyaki sauce. For you chopstick experts, even you may wish to use a fork for this meal because of how slippery the udon is! The sauce the udon is dressed with isn't overpowering and adds the right amount of flavor to each noodle and vegetable that will please your palate. The Chicken Katsu is usually a favorite for children and adults whether they don't wish to have any sushi or if they want something Southern, but with an Asian twist. Panko breaded chicken with coleslaw is served with an Asian BBQ dipping sauce. With or without the Asian BBQ sauce, the chicken was marvelous and I'm drooling over the thought at the moment. The Bara Chirashi Bowl* is a bowl of rice topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, avocado, and cucumber with Asian green vegetables dressed with poki sauce. This is like sushi in a bowl that can deliciously fill your stomach so you can continue on with your productive day! Last, but not least, the dessert served was Banana Split Maki. It is RA's version of sushi for dessert that consists of a fried banana maki topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit drizzled with raspberry and chocolate sauces. *Marked dishes contain raw or under cooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs.

RA Sushi is comfortably our favorite dining destination on I-Drive. The ambience is relaxed and comfortable and the patio makes for great people watching at Point Orlando. The menu isn't cheap but it's "normal" for this part of town. Be sure to sign up for Ra's email list as they do send out good specials periodically.

Worst service and horrible sushi! The server brought our food out one person at a time! Don't go there unless you have all night to spend waiting for food and refills!

The ambiance I would have to say is nicer then the actual food. The appetizers were delicious, but the rolls were okay in my opinion. I had the shrimp tempura specialty roll which lacked a little flavor. Also it was strange because the waitress was trying to convince me not to order particular rolls. The appetizers I would recommend getting are the pineapple cheese wontons and the baked scallops. Overall I have had better sushi.

I have to say that I was quite impressed with this sushi restaurant and can't wait to go back. I noticed it a couple of months ago when I was working an event at Cuba Libre for work. It was still in the process of opening but the cool decor caught my eye. Fast forward to my birthday and I planned an impromptu dinner here with some friends. I made a reservation on Opentable and the restaurant was great about following up and asking for specifics(low top or high top) regarding the reservation. Parking options are either valet (which is validated by the restaurant and conveniently located right in front of where the restaurant is located ) or in the garage (not validated). We had a table right in front of the sushi bar area. (There is patio dining but it was too hot and humid to enjoy) The restaurant is gorgeous- lots of black and red. I loooved the red lanterns/decorative fixtures hanging above throughout the entire restaurant. Our server was pretty awesome from start to finish. She was never pushy and super patient with us as we were slow to put in orders. I was unsure what cocktail to order and told her my preferences. She recommended the Dragon Bite since I told her I liked more of a sweet rather than tart taste. It was a mix of Bacardi Dragonberry, strawberry puree, fresh lemon juice, Japanese yuzu & a splash of soda and had that fresh berry taste. We all decided to order our own rolls and appetizers but we ended up trading and trying each others rolls. 2 items that I ordered that are worth mentioning are the Hot Mess under the Starters. OMG. This was a HIT with everyone . If you like spicy, you'll love this one. It consisted of crispy rice balls topped with a spicy king crab mix; baked & finished with jalapeño & cilantro. These were easily gobbled up with a little help from my friends. The Gogira rolls are listed under their Signature Sushi menu and were recommended by our server . It is one of their more popular rolls. This is another spicy roll but I just loved it. It contained shrimp tempura, kani kama crab mix, cream cheese & cucumber rolled & was topped with spicy tuna & spinach tempura bits; served with sriracha & spicy mayo. Both of these items are best without soy sauce/wasabi. They have soo much flavor on their own! And to my surprise, the server came out with a plate of dessert saying "Happy Birthday". What a sweet gesture. Thankful they don't do the cheesy singing here but I loved the free dessert! :) It was actually good and I regret not getting the name of but I would compare to tempura fried ice cream. There was a piece for everyone in our party which was rather generous. Most places just give a piece for the birthday person. In a nutshell, I had an awesome birthday meal here. I'm oh so impressed and excited to have a yummy sushi restaurant to go to on I-Drive. It is pricier than your average restaurant. For a cocktail, app and 2 rolls I spent close to $50. So this would definitely be a place I'd come for Happy Hour or a special occasion.

It is my first time visiting orlando, so I went exploring down I drive. I came across Ra, and was very excited to find a sushi resturant. The hostesses at the front desk were very pleasant, and graciously led me to the sushi bar as I requested. The only issue that came up was that I had to wait a substantial amount of time for my waiter to assist me. It was so long in fact that one of the sushi chefs had to take the order for him. The chef was not able to take my drink order. Eventually my waiter arrived to get my drink order. He was very nice, and when I asked about the surrounding area for the night life, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered a roll based on the suggestion of the sushi chef. It was fantastic, and my chirashi was well dressed and flavorful. I would have liked a little larger pieces of fish, but that is a very small detail. I unfortunately cannot give a 5 star rating due to the service, but the food was definitely 5 star worthy.

The sushi is so good. A little on the pricey side but sushi restaurants usually are. If your used to going out and having big meals then you'll want to save up before you try this place out because you'll most likely leave hungry. I know this because it happened to a friend of mine. Hahaha. Maybe you'll want to go for a light lunch. But all their sushi is delicious and my favorite was the ice cream sushi roll. I don't exactly remember the name but it has strawberries, chocolate sauce and whip cream. Yum.

Thrilled that they finally opened a RA Sushi in Orlando! We have been frequent customers at other locations for years. Service was amazing and the rolls were spectacular! Our favorite rolls are Viva Las Vegas, RAckin Roll, Tootsie Maki, & Gojira. Happy Hour is 4-7pm Monday through Friday. This is a little different than other locations, which run 3-7 and Monday through Saturday. I wish they would extend the hours to match the other locations, but with it being in a touristy spot I understand. Parking is a little complicated. If you park in the parking garage, they will not validate at this time. The server stated that they can validate the valet location on I-drive.

Went to RA sushi almost a week ago . Trendy chic decor. Did not receive a greeting at the door from the hostesses . Sat at the bar for the margaritas . Drinks were good . Bartenders were upbeat and friendly. They gave helpful suggestions. Ordered the king crab roll . The roll was satisfactory, but for $17 could've enjoyed more sushi at the Asian restaurant district on east colonial drive.
